The Honest Guide on Preparing for College

I thought it’d be cool and useful to give you guys an “Honest Guide on Preparing for College.” It has all the things you may already know, and then also some things you perhaps don’t. And a bunch of tips that are helpful for preparing for college, but also during college. I’ve been working on this post for months, adding few new tips every now and then so hopefully you guys like it and find it useful! :) I may add more tips from time to time, I’m not sure.

  1. Suffer from acne? Visit a dermatologist to get it under control ASAP. The earlier you start, the earlier you’ll see results! And trust me, you’ll be going bare-faced a lot in college. At least twice a day- morning & night. And you’ll always want to look and feel your best! It sucks to be self-conscious.
  2. Figure out a rough guideline of your morning/ night routine. Your college routine is usually not going to be the exact same as your home routine. Ie: Make up will probably be done in your room, not in the bathroom. If you use makeup often, consider buying a vanity mirror! Very useful.
  3. You won’t need binders. I brought 3 (1-inch) in case and I hardly use one. It’s more useful to have individual folders for each class. Or even those notebook with tabs inside to hold papers. The point being, the way you organize your work is different in high school. You’re not going to the same 5 periods everyday in college. You have classes that meet MWF, and TTh, etc.
  4. Don’t forget to bring college essentials! Refer to my two posts here (”College Essential Hacks”) and here (”Things I Forgot/ Nearly Forgot to Bring to College”.
  5. Invest in make-up. In high school, I never wore make-up but now I often wear mascara and light lipstick! I spent countless trips figuring out what shade was best for me and trying out different products. Would’ve been easier to just do this in the comfort of my own home than in college! I’m still a make-up noob though, haha. I can’t even figure out how to apply eyeliner confidently!
  6. Bring clothes you’ll actually wear. 1/3 of the clothes I’ve brought to college were never worn… They just took up closet space!
  7. Bring formal clothes too. You never know what events you’ll go to (including sorority rush, galas, etc). Don’t forget a good pair (or two) of shoes for the outfit!
  8. Realize that the first month-ish of school is the prime time to make new friends. People are more open to making new friends and are more friendly and receptive. Make the most of this!!! I can not stress this enough! Remember that first impressions can stick, so be especially graceful during this period. I would even go so far as to say that you should try to go out to a party in the first few weeks of school for two reasons…. 1) You can see if you fit with the party scene and if you enjoy it. 2) When you attend events early on, people will assume you’re down to go for the rest of the semester and you’ll get invites. (Which you can turn down, of course.)
  9. Keep in touch with old friends! Seriously. Don’t just make new college friends and forget about your old high school friends. Keep in touch! Message them regularly and keep them in the loop! It might seem like a lot of work to message them all the details about something, especially when they are unfamiliar with the people so you have to describe it a lot (Wait, who’s Jim again? What’s your roommate’s name again? etc), but it’s so rewarding to have an old, familiar friend with you as you both experience college together, but separately.
  10. Know your schedule and be on top of this. Be organized. I recommend a planner and also having a print out of your weekly schedule that has your classes and other time commitments. I actually drew my weekly schedule and hung it by my desk. It not only helps me visualize my week, but also lets my roommates know when to expect me. I also use a calendar app very diligently. Whenever I commit to an event, I immediately put it into my calendars (the app, and also my physical calendar in my room). I also inputted the dates and times of my exams/ important assignments from the get-go so I wouldn’t be surprised about when they were. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND INPUTTING THE DATES OF YOUR EXAMS AND DUE DATES OF PAPERS, ETC INTO YOUR CALENDAR ASAP!!!!!!!!
  11. Keep in touch with family. Similar reasoning with #9. But basically, your parents and siblings have lived with you all of your life. They’ll miss you. Text them, call them, facetime them once in a while. Send them a postcard. Buy them college gear. Do little things like this; they’ll really appreciate it!
  12. Don’t be so uptight and remember to be grateful. I feel like I’ve matured greatly in college. I used to have these crazy-high expectations about friendships and stuff, and now, it’s not that I have absurdly low expectations, but I just don’t take everything for granted. I am grateful for anything and everything my friends do for me. They bought me Chipotle? Aww. They reminded me about the review session? So sweet. Basically, don’t take things for granted.
  13. Don’t be that one annoying friend. You know who you are. College is a time where you can really ‘reinvent’ yourself and you should really try to be a ‘better you’ during college. Here are some traits I find annoying, personally… An annoying friend is one who does any or all of these things:
    1. “Forget” to pay a friend back for spotting you. Seriously, we all hate that person who does this and we all really respect that person who is really diligent about paying back someone. So take note. Everyone is on a tight budget in college.
    2. Rants all the time. If you’re ranting all the time and your friend is just listening, you have yourself a freaking awesome friend. Just remember that friendship means you can rant, and your friend can rant back. It’s a two-way street.
    3. Tries to peer pressure others into doing something they like. Okay, I get that you drink and smoke a lot. But you don’t need to feel the urge to ‘convert’ me to doing the same. No means no.
    4. Always bails or is flaky. Freaking annoying.
    5. Takes things too far. We all have that one friend who takes things too far and doesn’t know when to stop….
    6. Too sensitive… But we also may have an uber-sensitive friend who always holds grudges and is a grumpy cat.
  14. Don’t skip class. Seriously. It doesn’t matter if the lecture is posted online, or if you’ll just get notes from a friend. Or if you already ‘know’ what’s being taught. Just go. Skipping class = lower grades = lower GPA = unhappy you.
  15. Be willing to try new things. This can vary to an extent from person to person. It can be as crazy as asking someone out or trying new food. College is a time of growth, new experiences, and fun times. HOWEVER, don’t do anything that will harm yourself. None of this “yolo” mantra please.
  16. Bring a lot of undies. Shirts and pants can be reworn more than once (within reason), but undies can’t. So save yourself from doing laundry all the time and bring a lot of undies.
  17. Learn to let things go. I used to be that person who held onto grudges. But since starting college, I’ve really begun to realize that life is so much more fun and enjoyable if you don’t let the little things faze you. Learn to let it go. Don’t let what that rude guy said to you this morning stick with you for the whole day. Who cares if you asked someone out and it failed? You don’t need them anyway! You’re too fabulous for them to handle!
  18. Learn to be confident in yourself. “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You “- Dr Seuss. Over the years, I’ve found that I’ve grown much more confident and independent. I love it.
  19. Learn how to socialize and be a great conversationalist. Smile and actually pay attention to what they’re saying. Remember what they said and bring it up the next time you see them. Hey, how was your lunch at Gypsy’s with John? It makes people feel special and nice. Use their names in the conversation as often as you can (without it sounding totally awkward and weird). People like hearing their names in conversation. [Btw, I read these facts on a Time article somewhere so its legit.]. People don’t remember what you say, but they remember how you made them feel. So make them feel loved and appreciated. Laugh.
  20. Live and learn through your mistakes. No one’s perfect. So what if you bombed your first midterm? It’s the first of many. Pick yourself up and study harder for the next one. Don’t get all beaten up.
  21. Consider bringing your AP study guide books to college. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened my AP Calculus review book from Princeton Review to review and look up things.
  22. Keep track of your meal points. I frequently hear people saying they always have leftover meal points at the end of the year, but maybe it’s because I like to buy a lot of snacks, but I was actually behind on points for half the semester. It’s no big deal–I can easily add more points–, but just don’t be under the illusion that you have unlimited amount of points and can buy whatever you want. Be smart about rationing off your points.
  23. Don’t let one midterm grade affect you. Yeah, you failed that midterm. So what? Just do well on the next ones. There’s nothing you can do about your midterm grade–you can only improve yourself for the future. Have a good cry, rant to friends, watch some Netflix–and then realize the changes you have to make and enforce the changes.
  24. Pick classes that you’ll enjoy. Don’t pick morning classes (if you can help it) if you’re not a morning person. Don’t take a Drawing/ Painting class if you’re not an artsy person for your Visual Arts requirement–there’s classes like Art History or stuff like that. Be reasonable about the classes you take and how much workload you know you can handle. Not everyone is the same.
  25. Go see your adviser from time to time. Just to make sure you’re on track! Work out a 4-year plan. You don’t want to have any surprises later down the road!
  26. Be careful with labels. Like “best friend” or “favorite person”. Sometimes, these can lead people on unintentionally and you’ll get yourself in awkward and uncomfortable situations where they like you but you don’t like them or something. I learned that it’s just best to call people your “friends” and unless you are really bonded with a person, then call them your best friend. But honestly, if you two are best friends, you kinda just know you are each other’s best friend–it’s a mutual feeling and it doesn’t really need to be said or labeled. I think it’s just best to rid yourself of using labels, honestly. Terms that imply exclusivity can sometimes lead people on. I think you should have a self-check with yourself every month or two and go like, “Okay, where am I at? I really like where I am right now. I could improve on this… etc etc. Let’s see the friends I’m close to… Do I think any of them likes me? I don’t want to unintentionally lead them on.” Just stuff like that.
  27. Understand your finances for college. Including scholarships, how much you’re paying, how much you’re working (if applicable), etc. Just be on top of all your money stuff!
  28. Don’t go out and eat out a lot. I ate out a lot during freshman year. Too much. I had no regrets during the moment but now looking back, I just imagine all of the money I could’ve saved if I didn’t eat out…. :( You can save so much money by reducing how much you eat out.
  29. Be financially conscious and be mindful of how much you spend. There are plenty of hangouts you and your friends can do that don’t require money or that much money. Examples: movie nights, picnics, checking out the campus botanical garden, going sightseeing in the city, cooking dinner together, etc. Just because it costs money doesn’t mean it will always be fun, memorable or worth it–something to remind yourself of! In addition, shoot for quality over quantity. Buy a $50 pair of Rainbows sandals that will last for years, instead of flimsy, cheaply made sandals that will break after a couple of uses. Splurge on that North Face jacket–you’ll be wearing it a lot and it’s versatile and will last you years. Now that I buy groceries and cook for myself, I’ve definitely come to appreciate the value of the dollar.
  30. Realize how small the world is and how connected everything is. Don’t talk shit about people. Seriously. The person you’re complaining about may have a friend who is taking a class with the person you’re telling to. Or the person you’re telling it to may have a friend who has a friend who knows the person. If it’s one thing that keeps coming up in my time here, it’s that everyone seems to know everybody (or is a friend of a friend). So limit your shit-talking, secret-sharing, gossip talk to only your trusted confidants. Seriously, though. As you go through college, you’ll come to notice that many people will reappear in your classes because of being in the same major, and more. The world is small, y’all. Don’t be reckless.

Shawn and I had been living together for a little over four months now. Since Shawn agreed to letting me crash for a week while looking for something new after being kicked out of my dorm, things we didn’t count on happened between us and suddenly, we were practically roommates and enjoyed each other’s company for hours a day.

POT Dating Tips

1. Always confirm the same day that you guys are meeting. These men have crazy schedules and they can cancel on you same day, best to know before you do your hair & makeup.

2. Never drive or uber a long distance to meet them. They should offer to come to you and if they don’t they should offer to uber you. I always get ubered to my dates, I never give them my real address obviously but somewhere close that I could walk or a place I could drive to and leave my car. Driving or ubering a far distance because he said he would reimburse you isn’t worth the risk. These men ain’t shit! they will lie to you. Don’t risk being out of gas or money, never worth it.

3. Always vet them before you meet them, nothing worse than going on POT date to find out he wants to pay you 200 per meeting. ASk questions nothing to invasive but just enough to see if can meet your needs. If you want monthly allowances make sure he’s open to that. IF he wants to do per meet to start, discuss how much. You can obviously negotiate a better price in person, but make sure you guys are in the same range $$$.  Don't’ waste your hair/makeup and a cute outfit on a fuck boy who thinks he’s a sugar daddy. NEVER go on the POT with someone who gives you weird vibes, I mean if he’s weird over the phone he probably won’t be better in person, nothing is worth your safety.

4. Be cute but comfortable, Opt for the heels that are more comfortable over the ones that may look better with the outfit.  Nothing worst than being out and having your feet hurt the entire time.

5. Be sexy and alluring without showing too much. I have big boobs so no matter what I wear their gonna show, but I always wear dresses that aren’t  too tight or show that much cleavage. He may want to take you to social events with his colleagues or friends, you don’t want to show up on your first encounter with your boobs out or a dress that barely covers your ass. You want to give off a lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets vibe. You don’t have to spend much to look great, Forever 21 or Zara has great dress options that are affordable. Macy’s always has in store sales on shoes ( Got a couple of heels from there), DSW also. A little black dress with some cute heels and some simple accessories can go a long way, ladies. For new sugars, you can spend under 100 bucks buy a cute outfit that you can re-wear to multiple POT dates. Ball on a budget until you can get him to take you, to Saks ;)

6. Knowledge is key! reading book  Ho Tactics and the art of seduction has really stepped my sugar skills up. Body language and confidence is everything! This may sound silly but I practice my faces in the mirror so I can get an idea of what I’m looking like when I say certain things, also what angles i look best in so I know how to tilt my head or smile. You have to mindfuck these to give you everything you want but never had. I always give eye contact it shows that you are really engaged it also turns guys on. I always order martinis or wine because of the way the glass fit in your hand. Eating a  olive off a  toothpick while eye fucking a guy will drive him crazy. Always ask follow up questions, whens he’s going on and on about his job or life, in general, show that your interested make comments be engaging. Also, brush up on current events, I use the SKIMM to help keep me up to date on current events. Be pretty but also cultured.

7. Always choose a high-end restaurant in your area. I usually yelp and look for restaurants with $$$ that has the best reviews, I legit have been to areas in D.C that I wouldn’t have been able to afford or even heard of. Set your standards high and don’t lower them. Don’t ever go out with a guy who thinks going to some cheap chain restaurant is acceptable. Like your makeup shouldn’t cost more than the menu. Gain knowledge on the nicest spots in your area, if he wants to take you somewhere lower end that’s the easiest way to spot a Splenda. If it doesn’t go anywhere at least you got to go to a nice ass restaurant, ate some good ass food, and drank some wine that cost as much your textbooks. Still a win.

8. If you’re meeting for a quick date such as Starbucks ( which I don’t even recommend, they give me Splenda vibes)  make sure you choose a time when it’s not too pack. You don’t want to walk into a packed Starbucks with the line to door and no seats for your first date it sets an awkward tone. You want to be in a quiet setting where you can discuss the arrangement privately, without random people walking by every minute.  Choose a time after lunch, or later in the evening.

9.Safety First! Never give out private information, give out fake email address, phone numbers, etc. The only thing I’m truthful about is that I’m a student and my age. Never get into a POT car, or go back to his place. I also send my friends my location so they know where I’m at all times. Also download a safety app, very useful. If a guy gives you weird vibe excuse yourself to the bathroom and call a uber, try to find a different exit and leave his ass. Never meet up in a sketchy area or place. Make sure the place is public and that it is quiet but moderately packed. Never meet up too late in the night, and don't’ over a drink. Overdrinking puts you in a bad head space which can lead to a bad situation that could be unsafe. I have no more than 3 cocktails on date depending on the time we are together. These sites are filled with psychos, be careful !.

10. Last but not least Never give up the pussy until you get yours. Things happen maybe you drank too much, or he was really cute so the chemistry was there but it is never a good idea to sleep with POT before the arrangement has been hashed out.  This is not normal dating and he is not your bf. Unless he’s paying your bills, tuition, rent or aiding your makeup addiction why does he deserve pussy???? Always get your first, these men will fuck and dip out never to be seen again. GIving him quick access will not get your bills paid sis, don’t do it. Before you think about giving him some think about your rent that’s about to be due, the tuition you still have to pay, that car payment, or Rihanna new makeup line that’s about to drop.  Pussy is power use it wisely!

Feel free to add on ladies. Pusssy is power, let’s encourage each other and help each other to mindfuck these men! #TeamVagina

Prompt:
A: It’s just…. It’s just that people like you shouldn’t fall in love with people like me
B: Are you fucking serious
A: What?
B: I get to decide who I do and don’t fall in love with. That’s mine okay?. No one else’s choice, not even yours. It belongs to me. I. Love. You

You had always knew you were different to the other kids on the Isle. Always. Even as a toddler you were clearly set apart from the other villain children; choosing to sit and watch their boisterous behaviour instead of partaking in it yourself. You were unmistakably good, there wasn’t a hint of bad in you. Unfortunately, your father Shan Yu, possibly the most ruthless and merciless of the villains, was not the most accepting of your passive behaviour, so you dreamed of Auradon, a place where thought you wouldn’t feel like a stranger in your own home. You couldn’t help it, you had no interest in terrorising others or making their lives miserable, instead you wanted to make friends, you wanted to help people, you wanted to learn.

When Ben eventually accepted all of the villain kids into his kingdom you thought all of your wishes would come true. You had a fresh start, a chance to surround yourself with people like you, a chance to be happy. It turned out there really was no people like you. You were instantly shunned by the princes and princess’ at the school once they figured out who your father was, turning there backs on you immediately as if his actions where your own. There was no chance of forming a friendship with any of the VK’s, you had exhausted that possibility many years ago, you were too fundamentally different to them, so you found you were left by yourself once again. To be honest, you had kind of grown accustomed to your own company and didn’t mind being alone. You began to realise that Auradon wasn’t so different to the Isle, sure it was cleaner and fancier but it could be just as lonely and isolating.

Despite little change when it came to friendships, you had discovered one new thing about yourself since arriving at Auradon; a distinct love for reading. The first time you stepped foot in the school library, you felt suddenly giddy, hardly able to contain your excitement as you stared at the seemingly never-ending shelves of hardbacks, tracing your fingers across the spines. As reading and academic interest in general was frowned upon back on the isle you had never even known libraries existed, so you took it upon yourself to make up for lost time. Any spare time you would have you would spend reading, curled up in your special corner of the library as you slowly worked your way through the endless collection of novels. It was quiet and you rarely saw people there but it was just how you liked it, peaceful and un-interrupted, fully submerged in whatever universe you were reading about. Then one day, completely by accident, everything changed.

Harry ran down the corridor, a wicked smirk plastered across his face as he sprinted from the enraged Tourney players behind him. The pirate may have been fast, but he knew they were faster, Chad leading the angered mob. Perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to put fish guts in their Tourney helmets, he thought to himself as he sped around a corner. Then he glanced back at the remnants of the slimy filth dripping from Jay’s hair as they charged after him and sniggered. Who was he kidding? He lived for the adrenaline rush. Still, while they were still behind him, he ducked out of their way, running through the doorway of a random classroom instead of continuing down the hallway. He pressed his face against the glass panel in the door, crouched down watching the Tourney players run straight past where he was hiding, sighing in satisfaction. Harry, slumped with his back to the door, laughing to himself as he caught his breath, slowly looking around the room he was in. It was bigger than he had anticipated and certainly not a classroom, the space occupied by neat rows of bookcases, overflowing with novels but was seemingly empty. His blue eyes scanned the corridor, in case anybody was still out there looking for him. The coast was clear, so he jumped up, gripping the door handle before stopping. Harry’s head whipped around as the pirate froze. He could have sworn he heard a noise.

A soft giggle, barely audible but a giggle all the same, that’s what Harry thought he heard. He brushed it off, putting it down to paranoia, and went to leave the room again. He was interrupted. Another giggle, this time louder, more prominent. He knew he wasn’t hearing things then and took a step towards the noise, his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he tried to work out where it was coming from. He trod carefully through the maze of book shelves, trying not to make a sound when he saw you. Instinctively he ducked down, hiding behind more books as a small smirk stretched across his lips.
“Now who are ye?” he whispered to himself as he fixated on your small frame, curled up beside a fireplace, holding an old book in your hands. A hint of recognition flickered across his eyes as he watched you grin at the hardback, beginning to laugh even louder at whatever you were reading. He was mesmerised by you, intrigued by how absorbed you were in the story, grinning to himself as huge belly laughs escaped from your lips.
“Where do I know ye from?” He said to himself, chuckling quietly from your infectious laughter. He rested his hand on a pile of binders as he craned his neck further to study you better, jumping backwards as he knocked them to the floor.
Your nearly jumped out of your skin, dropping the book you were reading and shooting up.
“Hello?” You called out, hoping there would be nobody there to answer you.
Harry was half-way down the hallway before you could take another step.

He was back again. Why? He had absolutely no idea, but the next night he found himself back in the library, hoping you would be there too. Harry wasn’t disappointed, as after filtering through the aisles of books he found you in your familiar corner, this time wrapped under a blanket, a small lamp beside you. Making sure he was hidden from view, he watched you again, trying to stop himself from chuckling.
You were reading a horror book and it was fair to say you weren’t enjoying it, but you had vowed to read every book in the library in alphabetical order and you could hardly back out half way through the the ‘A’s. You read a particularly frightening sentence and slammed the book shut, holding it at arms length away from you, before painfully slowly re-opening it. You read another word and shut it again, this time staring at the novel as if it was the devil incarnate itself.
That was the point when Harry lost it, having to bit down on his own hand to stop himself from bursting out laughing.

It had been over a week since Harry saw you the first time, and he had returned to the library everyday to find you. Every time he would find you in the arm chair beside the open fire, the little crevice of the castle you had claimed as your own. It had been over a week since you had felt like you were being watched, and you were starting to feel slightly unnerved. Every time you would convince yourself you were just feeling paranoid but something was telling you to trust your instincts.

When Harry entered the library one evening he was confused. As he walked towards your usual spot,  but he couldn’t hear a thing, no snorts of laughter, no gasps, no occasional tutting. Silence. He frowned a little before it clicked. You weren’t there. The armchair was complete empty, the fire hadn’t been started, there was no pile of books on the floor.
“Where are ye then?” He asked himself, puzzled.
“Who? Me?” You replied triumphantly from behind him, arms crossed and tapping your foot as you gave the pirate boy a knowing look. He shot around, unable to figure out a response, so instead choosing to stand with his mouth open. So you weren’t going crazy
“Oh come on,” you laughed, no longer intimidated by the boy “Don’t tell me the infamous Harry Hook is at a loss for words”
Harry relaxed, slightly shocked that you weren’t weirded out by him, and flashed you one of his signature smirks laced with a little insanity. He was curious as to how you knew what he was.
You grinned back at him, as if reading his mind.
“I mean, this kind of gives it away doesn’t it,” you motioned towards the sliver metal of his hook, glinting in to the dim light.
He smiled again, licking his bottom lip slightly.
“Ye know for someone who spends all there time in a library ye don’t half talk a lot” Harry teased, regaining his smug demeanour and taking a step towards you.
He tried to reach his hook to meet your face but you turned on your heels before he could.
“And for someone who spends all there time stalking people you are oddly confident”
“Touché” Harry laughed, following you as you collapsed into your armchair.
“What do you want Harry” you grumbled, unimpressed that the boy was invading your reading time.
He leaned back on the arm rest and grinned at you, deciding that he wanted to know more about the mysterious library girl.
“Nothing,” he said innocently enough but still with a devilish gleam in his eyes “I came here to read”
You rolled your eyes.
“We’ll go do it somewhere else, this seat is occupied” you replied, retrieving a book from your bag and opening it to the first page.
“Well if ye insist,” whispered the pirate, walking away from you.
You tilted your head, that was far too easy. You were kind of disappointed that Harry had left so soon but you dismissed the thought and started to read, happy to be left in the quiet. That was until, you hear the screech of wood against the library floor.

“Harry! I told you to leave!”
“Nu-uh, ye told me to get my own chair,” he said smugly, dragging one of the libraries benches from the other side of the room to the fireplace “So I did”.
He winked at you
“You are ridiculous”
“I think ye mean endearing”.
The bench was now directly next to your chair, Harry sprawled out on it, his hands behind his head in a mock super model pose. You giggled.
“You’re not seriously, going to stay here are you?”
“Ye already know the answer to that question sweetheart” Harry whispered.
“I can’t believe you” you said under your breath but seeing Harry’s two piercing blue eyes stare back at you charmingly, you relented.
“Fine, read this” you thrusted a book into his arms, “But I have rules. You don’t talk to me and I don’t talk to you”
Harry smirked.
“You won’t even know I’m here”

You knew he was there alright. Every five second the boy tried to talk to you and in the hour you had been sat there you hadn’t even finished the first page of your book.
“Just put me out of my misery sweetheart and tell me ye name” he pined, creeping closer to the end of his bench and you.
“Shut up and read your book Hook”
“I am reading,” he protested “Ye know I can be very persuasive when I want to be”
Harry was whispering to you, his lips brushing against your ear. You shuddered a little, not used to being this close to somebody. Annoyed, you pushed Harry playfully by the shoulder away from you.
“If I tell you will you leave me alone”
“I’m not making any promises” You jabbed him in the ribs “Okay! I’ll leave you alone”
Harry wiggled away from you and picked up the book, pretending to read it. You did the same, returning to your novel. Neither of you could concentrate on any kind of story, taking it in turns to steal glances at one and other when you thought they weren’t looking. It was Harry who caught you first.
“I can see ye looking at me ye know” he said raising an eyebrow.
“L-looking at you? Pffft I’m not….. looking at you” you stuttered embarrassed at being caught. You were a terrible liar.
“You’re sitting right next me. I can see ye”
“W-well then you need to get….. some glasses”.
After realising how terrible your excuses were you made eye contact with Harry again. The two of you tried to keep straight faces but faltered, laughing until you cried and your sides actually beginning to ache. When the sniggers finally subsided you turned to the pirate.
“My names Y/N Yu,” you said at last causing Harry to sit up.
“I thought I recognised you from the Isle” he replied, looking at you slightly differently.
“I doubt it. I have never really been a people person. Nobody really remembers me”, your voice sounded slightly sadder than you had intended it to, so you shut your mouth abruptly.
“I remembered you” Harry stated quietly, before, for the first time that night, picking up his book and  starting to read it.

It had been months since your first encounter but you and Harry had grown in-separable. It baffled everybody, the quiet shy bookworm and the obnoxiously flirtatious pirate, it wasn’t a mix that most expected to work. But it did. Soon friendship progressed to something much more. You understood Harry unlike anybody else, your relentless kindness something he had been missing but craved. Harry was fiercely protective of you, threatening to hook anybody who gave you any trouble. Yes, you knew it was a little much, but he was trying. Neither of you had any trouble admitting you were madly in love with the other. You and Harry still had your nightly reading sessions, only now you shared the armchair, you curled up on his lap, your head against chest. Harry would rest his chin on the top of your head, reading over shoulder and kissing your forehead occasionally, your bodies engulfed by a thick tartan blanket. Often, you would fall asleep like that and Harry would carry you back to your dorm, careful not to wake you. It was perfect.
For a while.

*teeny tiny time skip*

“It’s the end of the world as we know it!” You exclaimed, you pouted at Harry who just laughed at you and ruffled your hair.
“Has anybody ever told ye you’re over dramatic?”
“I’m being serious Har! The library is shut! All day!”
He chuckled at you again.
“I guess ye’ll have to sit at an actual table at lunch and actually talk to people”
You sighed melodramatically and Harry copied you, mocking your movement.
“I’d watch it Harry, you’re forgetting who my father is. I could have you flattened on this floor in a second”
“Y/N, ye may indeed be the daughter of Shan Yu, but ye haven’t flattened anything in your life”
You swatted the back of his head.
“I’m in a bad mood” you grumbled quietly.
“Come on Little Miss Yu, we’re going to sit with Uma”

You and Uma had a mutual dislike for each other. The kind of mutual dislike for each other that often caused countries to go to war. Which was a shame, her being your boyfriends best friend and all, but you tried to not let it bother you. Uma had begun to hate you since Harry started spending more time with you, annoyed that he no longer wanted to try and destroy Auradon. She lost her shit when she caught him reading a book in his room instead of training one time.
“I thought you hated Y/N” Gil said goofily as you and Harry sat down at Uma’s picnic table.
“I do” Uma said bluntly, giving you a death stare. You pretended to ignore it, instead pulling out a piece of chocolate cake from your bag. Harry sent a warning glare back to Uma.
“Well I think Y/N’s very nice,” Gil added, giving you a genuine smile and nodding his head.
You smiled back. Gil might not have been the sharpest knife in the draw but he was pretty harmless.
“She always was, wasn’t she. So nice”. Uma spat, sneering at the word nice as I it was an insult.
“If you’ve got a problem with me, I can go you know” You stood up for yourself, imitating Uma’s tone.
“Fine by me”
“Uma,” Harry growled, an fierce edge in is voice
“Oh, I’m sorry I forgot you developed feeling for the girl. Did you forget she was just part of the plan”
“Uma, shut it!” Harry banged his fists on the table.
“The plan?” You nearly choked on your cake.
“Oh honey didn’t you know” Uma said with fake concern “He only dated you because I told him to”
You spat the remaking chocolate cake out.
“What” you whispered venomously, staring at Harry who was sat with his mouth wide open.
“I thought we needed to expand our crew a bit so I told him to go out and find some vulnerable girl who would follow him blindly. Don’t know why he chose you though, you’ve always been weird haven’t you. Always been a loner. Always been a fr-”
“UMA ENOUGH!” Harry screamed.
You felt suddenly dizzy, black hazing your vision. Harry tried to grab your hand but you snatched it away. You were crying now, your heart slowly shattering. Turning around you stumbled away as quickly you could, as far as your eyes could see.

You ran into the woods, needing to be as far away from the school ,and the people in it, as possible. You were sobbing now, heaving and wailing like a child, as you sprinted. Refusing to stop, you ran deeper and deeper into the forest, your legs snatching on brambles and the wind biting at your cheeks. You never wanted to go back. How could you? The only person that had made Auradon bearable was Harry but it seemed even that was just some cruel joke. You stopped only when you thought your lungs would collapse, throwing yourself down beside a tree trunk.
“She’s right,” you blubbered to yourself “I don’t belong here. I don’t belong on the Isle. I don’t belong anywhere!”.
Your thoughts where interrupted by the snapping of a tree branch. You peered behind a tree defensively, to see a familiar pirate stood behind you.
“Y/N darling, Ye know that’s the biggest pile of bullshit I’ve ever heard”

He attempted to pull you into a hug but you refused.
“Harry,” you started.
“Uma’s a liar. Ye knew that already, she’s temperamental that’s all, she doesn’t mean anything she says-”
“Harry, don’t bother” You pulled away from your embrace, slumping back down to the ground.
Harry sat beside you.
“Don’t bother with what?” He asked softly, sweeping the hair away from your face with his hook so he could look into your eyes.
Before you could get lost in them, your tore your eyes away from him his.
“Stop pretending that you love me, or that you care, or that I mean something to you. It’s only hurting me more.”
Harry grabbed hold of your jaw, and twisted it towards you so you would look at him.
“You’re seriously not saying all of this because Uma threw a hissy fit are ye?”
“No actually. That’s the sad bit, I’ve been thinking about it or quite some time”
“What the hell are ye on about now!” Yelled Harry suddenly exploding, taking you slightly be surprise “Ye know I’d do anything bloody for ye!”
You ignored him, continuing your little speech.
“Do you know what people say when they see us together. They think how the hell did he end up with that, they think that-”
“When did I ever care what people think? When did ye ever care what people think?” He was still shouting, his yells echoing around the forest trees.
“I’ve always cared,” you whispered so quietly it could have gone undetected.
Harry heard though and got to his feet
“Then why don’t you care what I think then, eh? Because you know full well I love you!”
You stood up beside him, tears still streaming down your face.
“It’s just…. It’s just that people like you shouldn’t fall in love with people like me”
“Are you fucking serious” Harry whispered, cooling down again and turning towards you.
“What?”
He wrapped his arms around you, refusing to let you go no matter how hard you squirmed until you eventually melted into his touch.
“ I get to decide who I do and don’t fall in love with. That’s mine okay?. No one else’s choice, not even yours. It belongs to me. I. Love. You”
“Harry,”
“I love you,” he repeated.
“I love you too”
You nuzzled your face into his neck, breathing in the unmistakable scent of the ocean that never seemed to leave the pirate. Standing on your tiptoes you reached up and planted a short kiss on Harry’s lips, before lowering down and simply staring at him.
“I was going to wait till ye birthday but-”
Harry pulled away from you, untucking a small pendant necklace from his shirt and took it off. He placed it carefully in your hand, folding over your palm and pushing it gently to your chest.
“It was my mothers. I want you to have it.”
“Harry, it’s beautiful but… But I can’t take this from you,” The necklace was small and ornate, a silver crescent moon charm adorning the chain. You rubbed the cool metal between your thumb and forefinger.
“I told ye,” Harry whispered with a smile “It’s yers”
You flung your arms around his neck and he picked you up, spinning you around and round in circles until you begged him to put you down.
“We should probably get back Har” your said, still feeling a touch dizzy.
“Yer right Y/N. I’ll race ye back to the library,” Harry winked, twirling you around a final time.
“You know full well it’s closed, why torture me like that? You know we can’t go”
“Yeah well yer forgetting I’m a villain Y/N, breaking the rules is what I do”
You stared up at the boy you loved one more time, gazing at the way his eyes shone in the dappled sunlight.
“Harry Hook,” you stated “I’ve never met a more lovely villain”

Author’s Notes: This was written for two challenges: @impala-dreamer One Prompt for All (had to be Dean x Reader, no more than 3,000 words, and the prompt: “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were trying to kill me.”) and @luci-in-trenchcoats AU & Things Challenge (I chose Bodyguard AU). I’m not gonna lie, a lot inspiration for this came from the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner movie The Bodyguard.

anonymous asked:

Hey it's the Disney anon! Yeah I meant sort of live action BATB cause I love the Bucky fic you did😊 So if it's something you'd be happy to write for can I request a reader x gaston fic where they grew up together and she is in love with him but is convinced it isn't mutual & that he deserves better so doesn't tell him. Another guy asks her out & she accepts cause she thinks she should move on if gaston will never love her. But Gaston actually gets super jealous/possessive. Hope it's ok thanks❤

Pairing: Gaston x Reader
Fandom: Disney ; Beauty and the Beast (2017)

A/N: asdfghjkl, I’m so glad you send me this request, I literally grinned so hard when I got it! I don’t normally post two things a day, but I literally had the easiest time writing this. This prompt gave me so much inspiration that I just typed it in one go and I’m actually quite happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it as well and if you have any other gaston x reader request please send them my way. I LOVE writing for him and the reader. (added Gaston to my fandoms list)

“You’re staring again,” LeFou, who had seemingly snuck up on you, whispered.

You blinked a few times to break the spell you were under before and turned around, wanting to convince him that, no, you weren’t staring at Gaston like a fool in love.

But the look he threw you was enough to know that it wouldn’t work on him.

“It’s not like I don’t understand. And I’m certainly not the one to judge you,” he winked at you and you had to laugh a little. “But what I don’t understand is why you don’t tell him. You’ve known each other for so long..”

“Oh LeFou. If only it were so easy. Look at him..-” he was currently chasing Belle again. “He doesn’t feel the same and I doubt he ever will. He needs a woman who cooks for him and plays the good wife. You and me both know that I’m not that kind of woman.”

“Neither is Belle! Which is why he fancies her! So what makes you different?”

“I’m a huntress, LeFou. Belle and me are completely the opposite of each other. If she’s his type then I’m most certainly not.”

“She’s beautiful. That’s why she’s his type. And do I need to remind you of your beauty?”

You sighed and turned around to face your friend, smiling a little, then hugging him.

In the meantime, Gaston gave up for today in chasing Belle and approached the two of you.

They take a shortcut through a kind of run down neighborhood, meaning that the streets are narrow and the roads are all bumpy. It’s one broken segment of pavement after another. The driver apologizes but says the route is ten minutes shorter and traffic-free, despite the conditions. Harry tells him not to worry about it.

“S’alright, mate.”

Y/N first worries briefly, if it is alright because from where Fionn’s got his arm around Y/N’s waist he digs his fingers into her skin through her clothing and it triggers something carnal inside of her. Her thoughts drift to ones that verge inappropriate, nearly have her cheeks heating. It would all be fine if she wasn’t intimately in Fionn’s lap and his grip wasn’t verging possessive.

And then YN worries, again, because she realizes these thoughts triggered by Fionn’s tight grip are mutual. There is an undoubtedly existent bulge budging against Y/N’s bum from Fionn pants.

She swallows and looks at Harry, instinctively, almost, and because she’s a bit overwhelmed, frozen because she doesn’t know how to proceed with this information.

or, Y/N’s a film student working on the set of Dunkirk and Harry’s her sugar daddy who likes to watch her have sex with Fionn.

Part 2   Part 3

“(Y/N)!” your name carried through the halls above the chatter of the student body. Eyebrows furrowed, you jerked your head out from your locker to see who was beckoning. You spotted Peter’s dark curls bobbing amongst the crowd towards you.

“(Y/N),” Peter gasped. He leant against the locker next to yours, breathing heavily.

You raised your brows in amusement. “Yes?” you asked, curious as to what would motivate Peter to run.

Peter swallowed, “I need your help.”

“With what?” you turned back to your locker to shove your math textbook inside and grab your jacket.

“Ummm… well… it’s about…” he lowered his voice to a barely audible whisper and leaned closer. “It’s about Liz.”

You tilted your head away from him slightly to hide the anguish that quickly flashed on your face. “What about Liz?” you tried to keep your voice steady and calm. A difficult feat, as you felt a pit drag your stomach and your breath catch high in your throat.

“I—I uh—well—I have a date with her,” he stammered

“What?!” you exclaimed, shocked. “Wow, Peter!” You tried to shove out any tone of sadness in your voice. You knew how much courage it must’ve taken this nervous but excited and eager romantic buzzing next to you.

“Yeah,” he breathed.

“Did you just ask her?” you guessed.

“Yeah. Yeah I did,” his ecstatic state quickly turned into a more panicked one. “But I need your help. I have no idea what to do!”

“For the date?”

“Yeah!” Shutting your locker, you swung your jacket over your shoulder and headed for the school doors. Peter bounded after you. “Please, (Y/N)!” he pleaded.

You shoved the doors open, “Why aren’t you asking Liz, though? Isn’t the date with her?” You worried that that might’ve been a bit forward in revealing your subtle bitterness.

“Well, yeah but I—I wanted to surprise her. And I can’t ask Ned ‘cause I don’t wanna mess this up, I mean no offense to him, but you know—(Y/N), you’re my only other friend who can help me!” Your stomach twisted at that word. Friend.

“When is it?”

“Friday.”

You sighed, conflicted yet sympathetic. Here he was, the best friend you had slowly but undoubtedly fallen for, asking for your help with someone else. Of course you were jealous. Of course you were dejected and feeling a bit betrayed. But of course you were going to help him. Because, dammit, you were proud and happy for him, too.

After two years of daydreaming, confiding, and awkwardly trying, he had finally gotten courage and motivation to do something about it. You saw how he lit up when she merely looked his way, how he melted whenever she said something nice to him, how jittery and nervous he got whenever he was within a ten food radius of her. You weren’t about to take that away from him just because of your unrequited feelings; because before he was ever your crush, he was your best friend.

“Okay,” you replied. Hope and relief immediately washed out all desperation on Peter’s face. You couldn’t help but smile a bittersweet smile.

“Really?!” he grinned.

“Yeah, yeah, of course!” you cheerfully affirmed. “Just, uh, come over later tonight so we can think of some ideas.”

“Thank you! Really, (Y/N), thank you so much!” Peter squeezed you in a tight hug that you half heartedly returned. He suddenly pulled away and reached for his phone. You already knew what it most likely meant, so you started past him.

“I’ll see you around seven?” you called back. Peter was already running the opposite direction.

“Uh yeah! Seven’s good!”

Groaning, you got up from your chair and stretched your arms above your head. How could simple chemistry equations somehow make your entire body ache?

You were about to plop back into your chair when a tapping came from your window. Glancing at the clock that read ten minutes past eight, you trudged over, unlocked it, and slid it up.

“Sorry I’m late; some nut job decided tonight was a good night to rob a jewelry shop.”

“Hm,” you nodded as you headed to your desk. Peter stumbled through the window, leaving it open for a quick getaway.

“Your folks home?”

“Nah,” you shrugged. “Both have meetings.”

Peter slipped his backpack off and slumped onto your bed. “So,” he rested his elbows on his knees, “Any ideas?”

You swiveled your chair around. “Not really,” you confessed. “Nothing’s really come to mind.”

Peter hung his head down, groaning, “What am I gonna do?”

“So… okay then. What do you want to do?” you inquired.

“I dunno! I was thinking maybe just dinner and a movie? Chill, not to much fancy expensive stuff…”

“No, no don’t do that. That’s typical, not surprising at all.”

“Ugh,” he muttered. “Has she ever said anything about like what her ideal date would be?”

“Don’t think so…” you racked your brain. You didn’t know Liz too well. Sure you’d shared some classes with her these past two years and had gotten to know her well enough. But you weren’t the best friend she’d confide to about relationships and dating. You also weren’t going to give up your ideal date for Peter to create for someone else.

You both sat in silence, thinking. There was a slight tension in the room that you both could sense, but it was hardly enough to make the setting awkward. You’d also never let it get to that point either.

“I know she likes picnics…” you offered. “Maybe you could get takeout from her favorite place and take her on a picnic somewhere?”

“Oh yeah…” Peter sat up. “That sounds cool!”

“And it’s not super expensive.”

“But do it kind of late-ish,” you added. “And maybe on the roof of a high building. So it’ll be darker and better for star gazing. Liz loves stars.”

“Yeah… yeah, yeah! That’s great; that’s awesome! Oh, okay okay! I got it,” Peter leapt up from your bed and raced over to embrace you once again. “Thank you, so much, (Y/N)! Thanks for being such a great friend and—and helping me and WOOH!” he whooped as he skipped to grab his bag. “I’m gonna go scope out some places…”

As he squeezed through the window you chuckled, “Okay…” That nagging feeling began to creep up on you, and you put your head in your hands. You knew the petty thoughts would begin to fill your mind soon.

You knew you shouldn’t feel jealous. You knew there was nothing you could do to change his mind. But you couldn’t stop it. You were mad at yourself for believing you could ever compete with a girl like Liz Allen. You hated having these feelings of envy and betrayal, because you knew they were futile. It was pointless; this was only going to make you feel even worse.

Okay, you told yourself. Calm down, stop thinking like that. Just be happy that he finally got his chance with Liz. Repeating this over and over didn’t help. Okay… Maybe the date will go bad— NO! No, God, why even think like that?! Okay, maybe the date will be okay but Peter will figure out he doesn’t really like her? Ugh why am I LIKE this?! You felt completely horrible when you realized you actually found solace in that last thought. Deciding you needed to just distract yourself before you could torment yourself any further, you turned back to your notebook with a sigh.

Four weeks and five dates later, wherever you saw Peter, there was Liz. Your one solace, your one hope had fallen through. Peter had begun to hang with you and Ned less and less as the weeks went by. His spontaneous midnight visits had stopped altogether, and sometimes wouldn’t even answer your texts for a good few days.

Distractions were helping less and less as well. No matter how many songs you blasted in your ear, or how many fanfics you poured over each night, or late night calls with Ned about any movie you two could find; the envy kept gnawing away at you. But poor sweet Ned. You finally broke and confided to him; keeping it in was just too much. And try as he might to help you try to get over it and keep you distracted and happy, you both knew nothing was enough.

It also didn’t help that Liz would often come to Peter when he was at his locker. Right next to yours. Even though they tried to keep their voices down to small murmurs, you could hear every sickening and sappy word pouring from their mouths.

“God, I think I love you.”

You froze, gripping the textbook as if it were your composure. That phrase had managed to slip through all the ambient noise and ruckus echoing through the hallway and reach your ears. How many times had you wished to hear those words from him, only for them to be meant for someone else?

Well you certainly didn’t hear much after that. You didn’t hear Liz’s reply, or Ned’s greeting, or your locker slam. The only thing that your ears registered was your booming heartbeat. You felt your whole body heat up, searing with anger and jealousy. You wandered away from your locker, away from them. Meandering through the crowd of students, you couldn’t think of where to go or what to do.

An obnoxious voice broke through the pulsing in your ear.

“Hurry up, move it, (Y/N)!” Flash complained as he breezed past you. “What’re you waiting for? Your imaginary boyfriend to become real?” he jeered.

A sudden drive and confidence took over you, fueled by the anger and jealousy coursing through your veins. You knew what you wanted. You wanted to make Peter hurt. Hurt like you were. And you knew just how to do it.

“Well that’s up to you, Flash!” you called. Flash whipped around, confused. It morphed into amused as you jogged over to him.

“What do you mean?” he crossed his arms.

“Pick me up, my place, Friday at seven,” you challenged. Flash’s face dropped into bewilderment. “Wear something nice,” you added, brushing past. “I expect to be wowed.” As you pushed open the school doors, smirking, you could perfectly hear the shock that rippled through the silence of the hallway. This was certainly one way to get over it.

*tap tap tap*

You startled up from your chair, not sure if you had really heard it. You went over to your window and opened the blinds revealing the red and blue figure. Sliding it open, you leaned out on your elbows, blocking him from coming in but opening yourself to conversation.

“Hey,” Peter breathed.

“Hey.”

He shuffled anxiously, tugging at the mask in his hands, “Can I talk to you?”

You shrugged, “I’m listening.”

“Why—” Peter took a deep breath. “Why’d you ask out Flash?” he timidly asked.

You stiffened. “Because.” Guilt started to take the place of resentment in your gut, but you shoved it away. You could tell he was concerned about you doing something so out of character and ridiculous on all accounts. However you refused to sway from your choice. You weren’t going to to back to sitting around moping about how he was with Liz.

“Because why?” he demanded.

“Because I can and I did.”

“But when were you interested in Flash?”

“When was it your business?”

“Since you’re my friend!”

You scoffed, hurt. “Am I?”

Peter squinted at you, “Y-Yeah. Wh—Why do you have to ask?”

“‘Cause it doesn’t feel like I’ve been!” you cried. The rest of your anger was spilling out, but with a different tone this time. This wasn’t a revenge thing or a spur of the moment vent-all-your-feelings session. This was everything that was buried deep, everything that wasn’t revealed to Ned, everything that really hurt.

“You’ve constantly ditched on stuff ‘cause you’d rather go to something else with Liz! You’ve left me and Ned hanging countless times. If it was because of Spiderman stuff, then I’d be more understanding, but it isn’t. You’ve just replaced your true friends with the girl you’ve been oogling for years!” your voice rose several octaves. “You never reply when we text, and you never answer when I need you or even when Ned does! So no, Peter, it doesn’t feel like I’m your friend anymore.”

Neither of you moved, too stunned by the words floating in the thick tension between you.

“So this is a jealousy thing.”

“What?!” you screeched. “That literally has nothing to do with what I just said—”

“No! No no no, it does!” Peter retorted. “You’re jealous because I’m spending more time with her, I get it—”

“No. You don’t.”

“No, I do! Look, I’m sorry if I’m not spending every waking moment with you guys like I used to, but it doesn’t mean we’re not friends anymore.”

“NO!” you cried. “No, Peter! It’s not because we’re not hanging out as much, it’s because we’re not hanging out at all. You’re always so distant with us now and you ignore us and—”

“I don’t ignore you guys!”

“Uh, yeah you do—”

“If I did, then I wouldn’t know that you asked Flash out, and I wouldn’t be here asking why the hell you’d ever do that!”

“Again, what the hell does it matter to you?!”

“He’s a douche!” Peter flailed his arms. “He’s an arrogant, spoiled asshole who’s so insecure that he goes around teasing people. He even teases you, (Y/N)! And you asked him out?!” He howled. Peter took a step towards your window, and you withdrew a little. “He doesn’t deserve you, (Y/N), and you don’t deserve to put up with that piece of shit—”

“You know what?” you glared at Peter, seething, blood boiling for the second time that day. “Yeah, you’re right: he’s a piece of shit who only cares about himself. But I bet he’s still gonna be a better shitty friend than you’ve been this entire month.”

Peter took a step back, appalled at what he was hearing. He pursed his lips and dropped his eyes to the ground. “Maybe we just shouldn’t be friends anymore,” he whispered.

You reached up for your window and numbly slid it shut. Knowing he could still hear you, you muttered as you closed your blinds, “I thought we already weren’t.”

Stranded (Part 1)

where Y/N is sorry and Harry is angry.

Harry turned around as soon as he heard the bathroom door open. He could feel his eyes widening at the sight of you. With your blue floor length dress and hair up in a loose bun, you looked unquestionably breathtaking. You were heading for the celebration dinner of Harry’s movie, but Harry felt like he would be nothing there compared to the goddess standing in front of him. He couldn’t help it, he walked towards you with long strides, smashing his lips with yours and whispering,

“Baby, you look absolutely gorgeous.”

Your cheeks glowed with color as heat rushed up your neck. You smiled in gratitude before remarking,

“I think I should be the one saying that.”

Harry jokingly flipped his hair before replying,

“Yeah, I know, I’m very pretty.”

You two let out a laugh before your lips collided once more.

“How ‘bout we ditch the dinner an’ put on some of our own entertainment t’night?” he smirked, proud of his word play.

“Wish we could darling, but everyone’s gonna be there for you, yeah? Can’t leave them hanging.” You replied.

He hummed in response, well aware that he couldn’t ditch the party being thrown for him. You two headed out for the car parked outside. Your hands were tightly intertwined with Harry’s, and the two of you couldn’t have been more content at the moment.

Once you arrived at the destined place, the screams of the crowd and paparazzi increased in volume. The two of you were scurried out of the car by Harry’s event organizer. Harry wrapped an arm around your waist as the two of you headed towards the fancy restaurant.

Strutting towards the door, you two looked, and felt, like the ideal couple. However, your little bubble of happiness was soon burst apart as Harry started getting questioned by an interviewer. He seemed nice, and the pair of you didn’t mind.

Yet, soon the questions started getting directed towards you as well. Caught up in the blissful heaven of the situation, you barely noticed as you accidentally spilled out information about Harry working on his solo album.

Harry had previously decided to keep his solo music career a secret for the time being. Lots of conspiracies came along with the rumors, none of which Harry wanted to face. He had instructed you not to inform anyone about it either, and he knew that he could definitely trust you. You had gone to extremes to keep it a secret, there had been several times when it was so close to being revealed but you did one thing or other to safeguard your beloved boyfriend’s clandestine.

But this once, caught up in the happiness of the situation, and the feeling of being in Harry’s arms, you hadn’t even noticed the words tumbling out of your mouth. As soon as the words escaped you, the two of you immediately halted to a stop. Harry’s arm tightened around your waist warningly, to the point where it almost hurt. The interviewer was as shocked as could be, and continued on trying to dig out more details from either of you.

You tried to make it better, you really did, but the damage had been done.

Harry hurriedly excused you two from the press and continued walking towards the main hall. You knew he was mad, the tense way his shoulders were situated, was an obvious sign of that.

Once reality settled in, you felt like you could cry. You had revealed his secret, broken his trust. He had confided in you and trusted you to not tell a soul about something that he didn’t yet want to share.

However, before you could let out a word, Harry was whisked away by his manager, and you had been left alone to fend for yourself. Usually, Harry would be the one to hold your hand tightly and pull you along with him, but you knew that after this, the last thing he wanted was to be anywhere near you.

You were soon given company by Gigi, Eleanor and Cheryl. All of the boys were there to support Harry, and you felt horrible that you had messed up the night for him. You felt your heart ache when you saw that Harry had opted to take the seat farthest away from you at the dinner table. The night passed on with you barely touching your food and trying your best to be as social as you could in the given circumstances.

Harry was nowhere to be seen, probably he had gone somewhere with his friends, and Eleanor and Cheryl had went off to mingle with their own boyfriends, while Gigi had stayed with you. She claimed that she wanted your advice on some show that she was preparing for, but you knew that she felt bad for you. She knew what had happened, and didn’t want for you to be alone.

While you were grateful for the company that she provided, you hadn’t failed to notice Harry’s absence throughout the night. You knew that he was upset with you, but you didn’t think that he would actually ignore you the whole night through. As it was nearing midnight and Gigi was going on about her upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a text message from Harry interrupted the both of you. Hope sprang through you as you looked down at your phone, but it was quick to die down as soon as you read the cold words that had been sent to you.

“We’re leaving.”

As you looked up, you saw Harry’s manager waving to you to come to the front door. You informed Gigi, who stood up with you.

“We’ll be leaving soon too. Just need to say goodbye to some people before we’re on our way.”

“Okay, thank you so much for today. I’ll see you soon.”

“Anytime, babe. I’m sure Harry will cool off soon. Just give him some time and space, yeah? Call me if you need anything.” She said, rubbing your arm comfortingly.

“Yeah, thank you, Gigi. I love you.”

The both of you hugged goodbye before you hurried off to where Harry’s manager was standing. She informed you that Harry was already in the car. Your heart sank a little, realizing that he was still mad. You hadn’t expected him to just forget about the whole thing, but you were hoping that his mood would be uplifted after spending some time with his friends.

Nonetheless, you knew that you had made a mistake and that you would have to pay the consequences now.

As you walked outside, you noticed the drizzle going on. It wasn’t much, but the dark clouds in the night sky made it obvious that it wasn’t long before it would start raining heavily. You opened the car door, and skid into the passenger seat. Harry already had the car started, and before you had time to buckle up your seat belt, he scurried off without a word. The tires of the car produced a sharp screech due to the force of the sudden turn.

You didn’t say anything, only adjusting yourself in your seat.

Harry continued driving towards the house that the both of you shared. But you couldn’t help but notice the death grip he had on the steering wheel. After a while, the awkward tension became too much and you felt like you were going to choke. You decided to face the consequences of your mistake as soon as possible, since procrastinating was clearly going to get you nowhere.

“Harry, I really am sorry about what happened-” You started, before he cut you off.

“Don’t Y/N, just don’t.”

He sounded so angry, unlike you had ever heard before. You had heard from a lot of people that Harry was the worst when angry. Though you had yet to encounter a seriously mad Harry, since he always made sure to control his temper around you.

It had started to rain harder outside, with heavy raindrops falling down on the wind screen. His knuckles had begun to turn whiter due to his extremely tight grip on the steering wheel. His face was set in a mad frown that was deadly to even look at.

“Harry, I promise that this wasn’t my intension. I was only answering their question and it just slipped out. I’m really sorry.”

“Sorry won’t cut it. I trusted you with my secret and you totally ruined it. I’m never telling you anything again. Now shut your mouth before I decide to kick you out of the car right now.”

This was so unlike him, the Harry that you knew would never, ever speak to you like how he just did.

Harry was known to be one of the most respectful people out there, and he had proved himself to you as a gentleman several times. Always treating you with intense care, feeding you chocolates during your period, opening the doors for you anywhere you went; he did everything to make sure that you were happy with him.

“Harry, please try to under-” Your sentence was left unfinished as the car halted to a stop.

“Get out.” He commanded.

“What?” Your voice was timid, compared to his. You had absolutely no idea about what Harry could do in his rage of anger, and you weren’t sure if you were ready to find out.

“Get out of the fucking car, Y/N. Or so help me I’ll do it myself.”

“Harry, it’s almost midnight and it’s raining so hard outside. Please don’t do this. I said I’m sorry.” You practically begged.

He wasn’t having any of it, though. In the blink of an eye, he unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car. He threw open your side of the door and grabbed your wrists. You tried to resist his grip, and he almost threw you to the ground. Your ankle twisted due to the heels you were wearing, and a painful yelp came out of your mouth. You were lying there in pain, with a ruined dress, spoiled make-up and sore wrists.

You tried to refrain him one last time.

“Harry, please stop.”

He shrugged off your hold on his wrist and went over to the driver’s side. He proceeded to sit in and drive away, leaving you a crying and broken mess in the middle of the road with darkness surrounding you and rain water pouring down on you heavily.

To some outsider, it may have looked like a scene freshly out of some movie. To you though, it was like your world had been torn apart. Yes, you had made a mistake, a horrible one at that. Harry had trusted you with one of his most sacred secrets and as his significant other, it was your duty to protect it at all costs. However, you had gotten caught up in the blissful moment and gone ahead and done the exact opposite.

In spite of that, you didn’t think that you deserved to be thrown out so harshly; in the middle of the night with strangers lurking around and rain falling hard on you.

Yes, you had broken his trust and knew that it wasn’t going to be easy to gain it back, but he had done the exact same thing, maybe worse. Your boyfriend, the very guy who was supposed to keep you safe and protect you from all the harm in the world, was himself the guy who had thrown you out in the streets, with absolutely no concern of what could happen to you.

And as you sat broken in the right middle of the street, with black tears staining your face and wet hair matted to your forehead, dress ripped and ankle twisted, you couldn’t help but wonder if things would ever be alright between you two again.

The Counselors Are In

In which Steve and Tony from Avengers Assemble open a counseling service for all the Steves and Tonys across the multiverse. God knows they need it.
To celebrate #10yearsofstevetony ♥

“But Tony, doesn’t it seem like meddling?” Steve chewed at the corner of his lip. “Maybe the other versions of us won’t want to listen to what we have to say.”

“We are pretty stubborn, I’m sure that’s true in every universe,” Tony said with a grin. “But I’ve seen some of the places they come from. Things are not good there. They need our help, Steve.”

Steve heart swelled at the care Tony had for everyone, even if they were from a different universe. “You’re right, honey. Come on then. Let’s do this.”

“Okay,” Tony called out, taking his hand, matching wedding bands sat atop each other. “Send the first pair in.”

MCU (Earth-199999)

“Have you two ever spent any time together outside of a mission?” Tony asked, eyeing them strangely.

“Uhh. There was that one time we got shawarma,” Grumpy Steve said.

“That was right after a mission and you were half asleep. That doesn’t count,” Grumpy Tony said snappishly.

“So you’ve never actually… hung out? As friends? Like, at all?” Tony asked, seeming genuinely perplexed.

“Well. When you put it like that, not really, no,” Grumpy Steve admitted.

“I think we may have discovered the root of your issues,” Steve said with a sigh. “Why not try talking to each other, for god’s sake?”

“Because he hates me,” both Grumpy Steve and Grumpy Tony wailed in unison.

“He really doesn’t,” Steve and Tony both said firmly.

“Gotta head to set.” Tom stretches as he stands up from your couch.

“Aw.” You frown, pausing the scary movie Tom thought it would be smart to watch. “You guys are going to leave me in such a vulnerable state?” You pout out your bottom lip as they make their way towards the door.

“Harrison can stay.” Tom offers, you smile while Haz’s eyes widen.

“Really?” You gape, holding a pillow to your chest.

“Yeah, yeah.” The brunette nods, sending a smirk to his friend. “I’ll shoot you a text if I need a coffee or something.” He hits his arm and walks out of the trailer, closing the door behind him.

Lets Dance

You and Tom hate each other, you thought having to go to the same performing arts school was torture enough.. but just wait

Lets get one thing straight. Tom and I were not friends. We’d been at the performing arts academy together for two years now, and ever since we met we’d been irritating each other beyond belief. Out first I thought I’d just be able to ignore him, but everything he did pissed me off. To make matters worse, all of our friends hung out, which meant we were constantly stuck at social gatherings together.
At least today I was stuck at home with a fever and didn’t have to see him in ballet. That’s where he was exceptionally annoying. He knew he was the best in the class, and made sure everyone else did too. He constantly gave me “pointers” which I never asked for.
I was halfway through watching La La Land for about the twentieth time when my best friend called me.

Waving Through a Window

A/N Here’s this… thingie that I wrote for @analogically-prinxiety as a part of the fic exchange. Also huge thanks to @princeyandanxiety for putting up with my constant questions and helping me edit this.

Chosen Prompt: 1 - Soulmate AU

Pairing: Analogical (Anxiety/Logic), side Royality (Prince/Morality)

Genre: Soulmate AU, High School AU, fluff, angst, hurt/comfort

Word Count: many 8.6k (the k stands for kill me)

Warnings: panic attack, like a paragraph dedicated to this One Shove, heaps of swearing (courtesy of Anx) and uh… I think that’s it?

Summary:

Soulmates share an emotional bond where they can feel what the other is feeling. That has always been just an unimportant  fact that Virge has lived by. It was the same as someone saying ‘water is wet’ or ‘the sky is blue’. When Virgil’s old neighbour moves away and Logan’s family moves in, things start changing.
