could you explain!!! how you!! did your tile backgrounds!

UUUH BASICALLY ITS JUST

DRAW A THING (on its own layer and stuff etc)

CONTROL+T SO THIS BOX THING COMES UP SO U CAN MOVE IT

THEN CONTROL+’ (THATS AN APOSTROPHE) SO THIS GRID THING APPEARS

AND THEN WAT U DO IS SORT OF LINE IT UP ON THE EDGE(S) KIND OF LIKE THIS (TAKE NOTE OF THE CROSS THING IN THE MIDDLE, THE VERTICAL LINE (OR THE LINE PARALELL TO THE EDGE) SHOULD BE RIGHT ON THE EDGE) AND THEN HIT ENTER TO PLACE IT

AND THEN U DUPLICATE UR DRAWING (U CAN DO THIS BY DRAGGING THE LAYER TO THE NEW LAYER ICON)

SUCCESSFULLY DUPLICATED NOW U HAVE TWO OF YOUR DRAWING

AND THEN U MOVE IT AND LINE IT UP LIKE THE FIRST ONE JUST ON THE OPPOSITE EDGE

SORT OF LIKE THAT

AND THEN U JUST KEEP DOING THE SAME THING WITH DIFFERENT EDGES AND MAYB STICK THINGS IN THE MIDDLE UNTIL U R SATISFIED

CONGRATULATION U HAV GIVEN BIRTH TO A TILE

ofc u can make tiles with a wider variety of designs and stuff (eg. my cat tile where there were like five different cat designs) and experiment with different spacing and patterns and sizing or watever
but in the end for a tile to work i think the most important thing is that the stuff on the edges are matched and lined up correctly !

theres probably a lot more to making tiles lol but a basic thing like this is all im comfortable w explaining rn hahahhha ;;;;

i hope this was helpful!

also i use photoshop cs5

I never got to tell anyone this Bc they didn't wanna talk about their bus but in the book, dan is clearly in the middle bunk during the "wake up" part. Look at the door hinge and position hes in.I can't believe he had two bunks 😫 also for the Rock Paper Scissors thing and other tour bus parts, it was filmed on two separate times Bc Phil's socks are different both times. God I love the little errors. Tbh my fave is them trying to tell us it was only them on the bus in the doc like LMAO ok sure.

Things people need to learn about tumblr

Tumblr is a great site for quickly spreading information but it’s so easy for people to get caught up in a mob mentality here. What a lot of people don’t realize is that not every post is meant to get reblogged 30,000 times. And I’ve made that mistake myself- reblogging people’s personal posts, adding unnecessary comments, trying to correct someone’s inane error on a viral post. TBH this place would be a lot friendlier and more productive if someones we would just…um…think? before we reblog.

-The OP is a person. probably 50% of the time a post explodes into a viral mess of angry misunderstanding the OP ends up deleting or changing the post in hopes that you’ll click back to the source instead of reblogging. The more notes the post has the more likely they’re already getting the same messages over and over correcting them. Before you send that message, take a few seconds to look at the person’s blog. Are they already drowning in messages about it? Did they change the original post? Did they apologize? do they really need to hear from you?

-on another note, because OP is usually a regular person it’s really really easy to spread false information here. This also happens a fuckton because even if the OP realizes their error, deleting the first post won’t withdraw it from other people’s blogs. So. Once again. Go back to the source

-Because tone is difficult to discern over the internet, context is important. Taking a single quote out of context can make it sound a lot nastier than it is and people do this here all the time to stir up drama about people they dislike. If you’re going to defame someone it may be best to do your research, because it’s a lot easier to destroy someone’s reputation than it is to build it.

-just because it’s not all over your dash doesn’t mean people aren’t talking about it. People’s blogs are catered to their individual interests. Some people come here to escape reality so they don’t post a lot of it. This doesn’t mean they are politically or socially unaware, it probably just means they don’t want to talk about it on tumblr.

-people make goddamn fucking mistakes. This goes double for celebrities and people under constant scrutiny by the media. It’s important to understand that nobody you meet in life is going to fulfill all of your criteria for a “good person” and that you’ve probably said a novel’s worth of crappy bigoted things yourself. Give people a chance to grow up. If the person is a troll or trying to stir drama it’s one thing. If it’s a 14 year old girl just learning how to use tumblr maybe having 20,000 people jump on her for being immature isn’t the best solution to the issue at hand.

-half of those faux social-justice posts you see that look totally ridiculous are trolls trying to feed into people’s sense of self-righteousness. the ones that are sincere may be troubled, mentally ill, or only trying to appeal to a small base of people on their blog before it got out of hand. At any rate it’s usually not even worth trying to argue with someone who doesn’t make sense to you, because you’re probably never going to convince them.

A lot of people use the phrase “what you say doesn’t exist in a vacuum” here. because many on tumblr are from marginalized groups shat on by society as a whole bitterness is justifiable. But unless someone’s making a deliberate attempt to be hurtful, a lot of this crowding the fuck out of someone for a small mistake is counterproductive and frightening. It breeds this creepy, volatile atmosphere where people are afraid of talking about their legitimate issues because they may word something wrong and be on the receiving end of 20 mad anons. They may make an encouraging post or joke for their followers that ends up with hundreds of comments on it like “destroy posts like this” and wonder what the fuck they’re doing wrong.

words don’t spawn out of nowhere. I’m not saying this as someone on the receiving end of personal attacks, I’m saying it as someone who sees the same old shit all over my dash without people considering the way this website is built. Most people on here are casuals and don’t understand how the tags work. Most casual people don’t have every nuance of tumblr down. It’s so much easier to just politely correct someone in private than to bully them, or better yet, if you see something annoying, cringe, scroll past, go brush your teeth or do something nice for yourself jfc
