Donald Trump’s victory is part of a global white backlash
How racism and xenophobia is fueling a global far-right surge — one that got its biggest win yet.
By Zack Beauchamp

There’s something deeper going on here. And to understand this part of the story, you need to look beyond American borders. It’s tempting to think of Trump as something uniquely American, but the truth is that his rise is being repeated throughout the Western world, where far-right populists are rising in the polls. They’re not rising because of their economies. They’re gaining unprecedented strength because of their xenophobia…

A vast universe of academic research suggests the real sources of the far right’s appeal on both sides of the Atlantic are anger over immigration and a toxic mix of racial and religious intolerance. That conclusion is supported by an extraordinary amount of social science, from statistical analyses that examine data on how hundreds of thousands of Europeans to books on how, when, and why ethnic conflicts erupt.

Prompt:  The reader is markipliers sister and she went to vidcon with him (since she just started as a YouTuber) and when she meets Jack and he her it’s like love at first sight.

MASTERLIST.

Being Markipliers sister wasn’t exactly what you’d call a privilege – sure, he was an amazing brother and always loved recording with you, but he’d sometimes get a bit over protective.

That was one of the reasons he wasn’t so keen you getting a YouTube channel. What convinced him were his loyal fans – they made sure he knew that ‘Sisterplier’ was loved and cared for. Gradually, he was okay with the idea of you joining the business.

(Your channel name) quickly rose to fame, but that wasn’t exactly your goal. Much like your brother you loved entertaining people and cared greatly for the wellbeing of your viewers – to tell the truth, with the rise of your subscribers you felt bittersweet – you’d get more friends, but that also meant that reading all the comments was nearly impossible.

Thankfully, an event you’ve been waiting to legit visit was rolling up and you nearly screamed when Mark said that the two of you would be going.

“We’re going to Vid-Con!” He announced, happily, and you tackled him into a hug…

You were expecting to meet lots of interesting people and youtubers, but to have your heart take a leap of faith was not something you anticipated.

You gulped; feeling your throat go dry as you nervously watched your brother and an unidentified hottie man approaching you eagerly. Mark was spouting about something you couldn’t care less about, finding the man’s eyes almost intoxicating.

“(Name)!” Mark called, happily, making you turn and smile at him “I want you to meet a good friend of mine,  Sean!” he motioned to the smiling man, and you blinked “You know, Jacksepticeye, I told you about him…!”

“Oh!” You nodded, the name ringing a bell. You beamed at Sean “It’s nice to meet you. I’m (Name)”

“Pleasure is all mine, lass” He told, his thick accent rolling of his tongue and sounding absolutely delicious to your ears, his eyes drinking you like wine.

Oh.

Irish.

Well, if you were having trouble keeping your heartbeat in check when you saw him, all hell would break loose now.

“Mark has told me a lot about you!” He continued a bit more enthusiastic, shutting his eyes and giving you a bright smile. Curiously, your eyes shifted from Mark to Jack.

“Oh…” You mumbled, hooking a loose strand of your hair behind your ear “I’m hoping only good things?” He nodded, eagerly.

“Not one bad word.”

Music is powerful

Rise against came to Madison this past Saturday, and I thought it was going to be just another concert. But for whatever reason this one was different. In a normal concert speech, Tim mcilrath said something that really got to me. “We’re all here for a very similar reason; to sing, scream, dance. Get something off our chest. Sing these next words with everything you have. Put everything into it and let everything you’ve been holding in go. Surviving is hard, but you’ve made it this far and that’s fucking beautiful”. And I don’t think I’ve ever sang louder than after that

The opposite of recognizing that we’re feeling something is denying our emotions. The opposite of being curious is disengaging. When we deny our stories and disengage from tough emotions, they don’t go away; instead, they own us, they define us. Our job is not to deny the story, but to defy the ending - to rise strong, recognize our story, and rumble with the truth until we to a place where we think, Yes. This is what happened. This is my truth. And I will choose how this story ends.

The peaceful transfer of power ...

is one of humanity’s greatest accomplishments.

It does not require that one just go along with evil. It does not require that one just accept whatever the president says. It does not require that one not fight for the things one believes in. It does not require that one just deny one’s own truth and rise up to defend and promote it.

It just requires that one realize that the peaceful transfer of power is a remarkable human accomplishment that should not be tossed away lightly. Instead, if – like me – what is about to happen is horrifying to you, you need to fight to make sure that the NEXT peaceful transfer of power is one you can be proud of.

Some people are lost in the fire. Some are built from it.

Which are you?
Do you let the fires of life consume you? Do you allow them to burn down everything you ever create?
Do you allow them to stop you from growing?

Or do you rise like a Phoenix from the ashes after every single fire? Do you allow the fires to cure you and make you stronger? Do you allow them to burn away what no longer serves you so that you can be free?

Don’t be someone who lets the fires consume them. Instead, let the fires teach you! Let them help you grow! And rise up!
When in the middle of one of life’s fires STOP and ask yourself, what can I learn from this? What is life trying to help me purge?
Stop thinking the fires are going to destroy you and start looking at them as a way of cleansing what no longer serves you.

With every fire there comes an opportunity for change. A rebirthing if you will. A total cleansing of who you are!

LIFE TIPPING ADVICE: what fires have you allowed to consume you lately? Stop focusing on the poor me, it hurts, I’ll never be ok mindset and spend time focusing on what you can learn, what you can let go of and what life may be teaching you!

It’s your life, make it epic!
