Sting's Child Eliot Sumner: I Don't Identify With Either Gender
The musician has been dating Austrian model Lucie Von Alten for two years.

“Eliot Sumner, the child of Sting and Trudie Styler, identifies as non-gendered.

The 25-year-old, who previously presented as female, identified simply as a “musician” in an interview with The Evening Standard, and stated, “I don’t believe in any specifications.”

“I think forever I was trying to figure out maybe … what I am,” Sumner said. “But I don’t think anyone should feel pressured to have any kind of label or tag on them … Me, I don’t like to be put down to a specific thing. We’re all human beings.”

Sumner was quick to specify that the interview should not considered a public coming out in any way, and said, "I’ve never come out to anyone. My friends always knew and I always knew.”

The article cited Sumner as "she,” although the singer-songwriter was not quoted as having suggested the use of an alternative pronoun.

The singer-songwriter is currently in a relationship with a woman. Austrian model Lucie Von Alten and Sumner have been dating for two years, according to the article.

Laverne Cox, Abigail Breslin, Larry Pine and Willa Fitzgerald have joined the cast of Freak Show, the adaptation of James St. James’ bestseller of the same title; they will join the previously announced Alex Lawther, Bette Midler, AnnaSophia Robb, Ian Nelson and Lorraine Toussaint.

The story will follow Billy Bloom (played by Lawther), a cross-dressing teenager and new student at an ultra-conservative high school: although accosted with Bible thumpers, the jocks, the bullies, Billy takes a stand and refuses to change his outlandish outfits or behavior, determined to be who he is and not bow to peer pressure. Instead, he decides run for Homecoming Queen for outcasts and underdogs everywhere.

Breslin will star as Billy’s rival, while Pine will portray his father, and Cox will play a reporter. Shooting has began this week under the direction of Trudie Styler.
