troy & abed in the morning

Community got renewed by Yahoo!, and will be back on for 13 episodes on Yahoo Screen this coming fall. I’m so excited for the return of this show! Those returning to the show are: Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs,Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, and Jim Rash. Dan Harmon will also be returning as the head writer and executive producer of this show.

That being said, there are a few cast members who will not be returning for the show, specifically Donald Glover. We all know that he left the show to focus on his rap career. He is an astonishing artist, and his raps are lyrical genius. But it does pain me that this season Abed will go without Troy. To be completely honest, I thought that this duo would last longer than any couple that I’ve seen on any show on television today. And it’s understandable Glover’s leaving. I’m just anxious to see what will happen to Abed.

So as a tribute to the best friendship this world has ever seen, let’s just take a look at some of the greatest moments (in my opinion) between this duo. There are a few montage gifs in this set, but the clips that I chose were from great episodes, too.

Little do they know, but they are role models for me. Their friendship is so innocent and pure, that it can’t be ruined by outside forces. Pierce even at one point bought the Handshake from Troy and Abed. Later, he gave it back to them and said it was their thing. No one can touch it. It’s to precious. I cherish the times that we have seen between these two lovable characters. At times, it was difficult to tell the difference between Troy and Abed, & Donald and Danny. They just fit their characters so well, and the chemistry was seamless. I will always love them.

I just love them so much…”Sorry. I got emotional.”

“Original Abed spent decades unaware that he could actually connect to other people. But his friendship with original Troy showed him he doesn’t just have to observe the world – he can be a part of it.”

“Original Troy used to care so much about what other people thought. Original Abed showed him it was okay to be himself.”
