Shark vs Humpback Whale (March 2014). As you can tell, the shark was drawn at the corner to make it’s mouth moves with your head movement. I also tried trompe l'oeil with drawing shadows both on walls and floor to make both animals pop out of the walls.

Bettah Warrior (2014. Charcoal, chalk pastel, acrylic on paper) 7.5 feet x 5 feet

This was the first piece I did after my grad show at Emily Carr. I was invited to a nationwide art competition where only 3 students were chosen to represent Emily Carr University, and this is the result. I felt like the bettah fish, fighting through after being so exhausted from drawing my grad piece which took me 4 weeks with no break to complete. Covered in sweat, tears, blood and bruises (from blending constantly and kneeling on stools and ladders to draw my pieces) but it felt amazing to draw this piece even though I was so drained. This was an honour!

This fighter is now available upon high demand on my etsy shop :D. I hope you like my Bettah as much as I do! <3@

Tada! Tromp l'oeil piece is done! Well, mostly done. There are a few fixes to be done, but overall I am so pleased. My dear Ares will always be remembered in painting form now. <3

The top drawing is the original Mr. Bam Bam, drawn in 2011 Septemer. My very first big drawing - the origin of all my big drawings.

It’s interesting and exciting to see how much both Mr. bam Bam and I have grown over the last 3.5 years!

For me Art goes hand in hand with passion. It is the unstoppable urge to create and to express. Drawing like any other creative outlets will always have its ups and downs but never let that stop you! Keep creating and you will see progress in no time!

Last day of The Show (my grad show) yesterday. I was having a little fun with King! Gonna miss seeing this big guy stretched out on the wall like this instead of all rolled up in a tube…brining him home tomorrow.

Photo inspired by Élan and other people’s fun pictures with King of Panthera! Thank you guys :) it was super satisfying to see how people react, engage and interact with my piece.

“Raging Rhino” (Jan 2015) - a quick study of a white rhino. Warming up my trompe l'oeil muscles! Haven’t done it for a few months now, getting a bit rusty. Lots of practicing to do :) can’t wait!

“The King Returns” (June 2015)

First drawing of The King of Panthera was last year (April/May 2014), it’s very interesting to see how different King looks now (I think the anatomy class definitely taught me to slow down and observe more than before). It was both exciting and nerve-racking to portray and walk along side King again but I enjoyed every moment of it (including the frustrating times)!

My show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre is approaching fast! I definitely need to “keep calm and draw insanely” for the next couple weeks!

Thank you for all your support guys!
