Today is International #TransgenderRemembranceDay and at South we had a vigil to honor those who have passed from anti-transgender hate. To everyone who came and everyone who honored our fellow humans across the globe, thank you. I know our fight for equal treatment is tough, that our numbers are few and our oppressors many, that there are people trying to drown out our voices; but we are here and we are fighting. And that, I believe, is how all great changes are started.

Today is Transgender Remembrance Day (in case anyone didn’t know like me a few minutes ago!). Let’s all have a moment of silence for all victims of trans hate crimes.

And since I forgot I’m gonna wear purple tomorrow.
