You know, when someone mentions DreamWorks, the first couple of movies that pop into a lot of people minds are Kung Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, and Shrek. It makes sense why most people think of these three films since they are considered to be DreamWorks most successful movies. However, there are actually a lot of good DreamWorks movies that I never see anyone talk about which I find very disappointing. There are so many great DreamWorks movies like:
A comedic movie in which a pampered rat named Rodney is sent to the sewers and must team up with a no nonsense female adventurer named Rita in order to get back home. What’s great about this movie is that even though the main character Rodney have been pampered, he’s not some rich snobbish jerk who thinks he’s better than everyone else. He can be goofy, excitable, a klutz, and somewhat socially awkward due to spending so much time by himself. He and Rita have great chemistry together and form a great bond that is also hinting at the romantic feelings they are developing for each other. The movie also has one of the most unique animations I have ever seen in an animated movie. It seems to be a combination of digital animation and stop motion, something that really helps the film stand apart from other
A movie that is told from the view point of a very likable villain named Megamind who questions what is he supposed to do with his life since he seems to have defeated his arch nemesis. I love how Megamind is a total genius but is also a goofball and decided to become a super villain since he is good at being bad, and it’s fun. Despite it being a comedy parody of superhero movies, it actually has some good drama in it. Megamind goes through a character arc as he realizes that he doesn’t need to be a villain. When it comes to animated movies about a super villain you always hear people talk about Despicable Me, but I personally think Megamind is much better.
Wallace & Gromit the Curse of the Were-Rabbit
With all the people out there who love the show and claymation, it’s crazy how no one talks about how Wallace and Gromit made it to the big screen back in 2006. While I wouldn’t rank it as a comedy movie, it does set itself up to be a very fun and intriguing mystery movie that revolves around a mysterious giant rabbit lurking the town. The great thing about this movie is that it sticks to the source material instead of trying to be all hip and modern. The personalities of Wallace and Gromit are handled perfectly, the animation is incredibly smooth, and it’s full of new characters that you’ll either like or get a laugh out of. There’s even a very entertaining intense plane chase involving Gromit and the villain dog that is fun to watch.
Rise of the Guardians
AKA, the holiday Avengers. Seriously, I don’t get why more people don’t talk about this movie cause it’s such a genius idea! I mean it’s a movie about magical legends fighting against the Boogeyman that is filled with fantastic fight scenes, likable characters, comedic moments, and some very good drama. The main lead is Jack Frost, a thousand-year-old legend he actually feels very alone since no kids can see him since no one believes in him like they do with the other legends like Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy. Throughout the movie though, we see him bond with the other guardians, learn to work as part of a team, and also learn who he was before he became Jack Frost. All the characters really just bounce off of each other, and the Boogeyman known as Pitch comes off as an intimidating villain who has a solid reason as to why he is trying to cause so much misery.
Every Nancy Drew game suspect ranked from worst to best.
Methodology: All rankings are personal taste. I only included characters that both had character models and were presented as suspects during the course of the narrative. Obviously, spoilers for every game.
Scorpius knows exactly who Albus is when they meet in the train carriage. He’s known for years that Harry Potter had a son his age who would probably be in his class at school. He knows that that kid is called Al. He’s seen pictures of him in the paper, of course he has.
Scorpius doesn’t even dare to dream of becoming friends with Harry Potter’s son. He imagines going to Hogwarts and having friends like Harry did, but he doesn’t think for a second that Al would give him any attention. Al is a Potter, and Scorpius is a Malfoy. Gryffindor and Slytherin, most likely, they’ll never even interact.
And then Scorpius is on the Hogwarts express and he hears the carriage door open, and he sees that stunningly familiar Potter face. The green eyes and messy black hair, and his heart stops for a second and he doesn’t know what to do. And Al has no idea who he is, clearly, because he asks to come in. So Scorpius goes out of his way to give Al every opportunity to leave, but he doesn’t. He stays. And he stays. And he stays.
And Scorpius pretends he’s just any other person. Asks what he wants to be called (Albus), offers him sweets, talks to him about Rose. Albus says he’s staying for Scorpius’s sweets, not for him, but still Scorpius has never been happier, and then Albus laughs at the steam coming from his ears as he eats Pepper Imps, and by the end of the train ride they’ve become friends.
That night when they’re lying in beds next to each other in the Slytherin dorm Scorpius can still hardly comprehend it. He’s living in a dream. Not even a dream, because he didn’t dare dream this. This is pure and utter fantasy, the wildest possible reality, and it’s his reality.
Scott: Which one of you can help me get out of training today? Any ideas?
Peter: We all have training today. I don’t think Mr. Stark or Cap would approve.
Wanda: Why not? I’ll cover for you.
Vision: It would be unfair to all of us if Scott didn’t train today.
Scott: I really want to visit my daughter today. C’mon!
Y/N: I’ll help you. I’ll keep Steve distracted until we can come up with an excuse for you.
Peter: How will you do that? Will he even see you?
Y/N: I am short! Not invisible!
Peter: Whatever you say, Shorty.
Y/N: IT IS NOT MY FAULT HE’S A WALKING TREE AND SO ARE YOU
Peter: That makes you a shrub.
Vision: Peter, stop teasing her!
Wanda: No, keep teasing her!
Peter: But she gets even cuter when angry!
Wanda: I am hoping that you finally confess your feelings to her.
Y/N: FIGHT ME PARKER
Wanda: Looks like it might take a while…
Peter: You’re not tall enough to reach my face to punch me, but I surrender from your adorableness. It’s too much for me.
Wanda: Just tell her and maybe you two will finally stop fighting!
Peter: There’s nothing to tell!
Wanda: You tease her because you like her!
Peter: No, because she’s short!
Y/N: Wanda why are you talking to a spider? Odd.
Scott: WE HAVE TRAINING IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES AND I STILL NEED A PLAN TO GET OUT OF IT.
Peter: I don’t think it’s fair if Scott gets excused. I’m swamped with school work but you don’t see me bailing.
Y/N: UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE HERE, I will help. Steve is with T’Challa right now, I will stall him.
Peter: Hi, I’m some people. It makes sense you would help Scott. Both of you are so tiny.
Y/N: Shut up, you sound like Thor.
Scott: I’M NOT TINY, YOUNG MAN
Peter: … You shrink, remember?
Wanda: Wait, Scott. Why don’t you just ask Steve for the day off? I’m sure he won’t mind.
Scott: I did that last week. I can’t ask again.
Vision: Another reason why Scott should not get out of training.
Scott: You would understand if you had children.
Vision: Do Y/N and Peter count?
Y/N: WE ARE NOT CHILDREN
Peter: I’m not but Y/N is.
Scott: Yes. That counts. How do you manage with them?
Y/N: I AM NOT A CHILD YOU SPIDER
Peter: I’ve seen 10 year olds taller than you. .
Vision: It is extremely exhausting, Scott.
Y/N: Vision is not even two years old! He’s not in charge of me!
Peter: He should be since he’s taller than you, Little One.
Scott: If it wasn’t for you and Steve, I think Y/N might have murdered Peter by now.
Y/N: HEIGHT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, PARKER!
Peter: Are you saying that because you’re not tall enough to ride any of the rides?
Vision: Oh she has tried fighting him several times but Peter just hugs her in response.
Y/N: I’VE HAD ENOUGH
Peter: What are you gonna do, Frodo Baggins?
Wanda: Will you two finally make out?
Peter: The message is there. We can see it.
Wanda: … It’s almost time for training, see you there!
Wanda has left the chat.
Y/N: Peter distracted me! I didn’t get to stall Steve. Sorry, Scott!
Vision: My plan has been a success. Now, Scott, there is no way out of training.
Scott: CURSE YOU VISION!
Scott has left the chat.
Vision has left the chat.
Y/N: I don’t think I’ll attend training today, not if you’re there!
Peter: Steve won’t wike that, wittle won. Plus I’ll miss you wevy much, wittle won.
Y/N: Stop it.
Peter: Make me.
Y/N has added Thor.
Peter: THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT!
Y/N: Thor, Peter is being mean.
Peter: No, I’m not!
Thor: SIR PARKER, DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT IT IS UNBECOMING OF YOU TO PICK ON LADY Y/N’S STATURE?! YES, SHE IS QUITE SMALL, AND YES, I SOMETIMES FORGET SHE’S STANDING BESIDE ME AND FREAK OUT THAT SHE’S MISSING, AND YES, SOMETIMES SHE NEEDS ME TO BRING THINGS DOWN FROM PLACES THAT ARE OUT OF HER REACH, AND YES, I SOMETIMES HAVE TO CARRY HER ON MISSIONS BECAUSE HER LEGS ARE TOO SHORT TO KEEP UP WITH ME
Thor: BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU MAY JEST ABOUT IT!
Peter: I’m sorry! I don’t mean to offend her. I like her, a lot! Wanda was right!
Thor: You must make it up to her and the only way for you to do that is in battle. Prove that you are a worthy warrior and I will forgive this.
Y/N: Wait, Thor. I know Peter was joking, I was too. Please don’t fight him.
Thor: Oh, I was going to suggest he fight my brother but if that is the case, Lady Y/N, I will not make him do that. But I will not allow anyone else to jest about your height.
Tony has joined the chat.
Tony: Shorty, Kid, why aren’t you two at training? Steve’s waiting.
Thor: STARK, THE SPIDER-BOY IS THE ONLY ONE WHO I SHALL ALLOW TO ADDRESS LADY Y/N IN THAT WAY!
Tony: Oh. COME ON! REALLY? NOT THE FACE THIS TIME!
Tony has left the chat.
Thor has left the chat.
Y/N: I should have told Thor that Tony calls me shorty too.
Peter: We should help him.
Y/N: … But we have training.
Peter: …And he did flirt with my aunt.
Y/N: He’ll be fine.
Peter: Guess we shouldn’t keep Steve waiting any longer.
Y/N: Oh and by the way,
Y/N: I like you too.
Y/N: YOU GIANT.
Peter: WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO OUT WITH THIS GIANT FOR SOME CHIMICHANGAS AFTER TRAINING?
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Recap: Part One, 24th May
Where to begin with this? I’m not sure whether to give
opening assessments of the characters first, or line by line details. How about
we start with the characters!
Thomas is just really delightfully funny. You forget that he
doesn’t look like Ron, because he inhabits the character so well. Because he’s
so jovial and bubbly all the time, the second timeline Ron is a stark and
entertaining contrast. I think he’s brilliant, and he’s one of about five or
six cast members who is completely nailing it already.
I adore Rakie. She exudes Hermione’s authority, and she has
this beautiful sort of Hermione-ish quality to her that I’m not sure I ever
personally felt from Noma. She just has this presence about her. I feel so
comfortable when she’s on stage, I trust her implicitly, and she and Thomas
have already given me one of my favourite ever Romione moments.
Helen’s Rose is simply adorable. She’s young and bubbly and
seems like she’s having so much fun. I love how she has no time for Scorpius’s
flirting, and she seems to have such a sweet relationship with her parents.
I was surprised and delighted by how much I liked Jamie. I
was really worried about him, because in the past I don’t have a good track
record of enjoying Harrys who weren’t played by Jamie Parker, but I didn’t have
any issues with him. There were a couple of decisions that he made that I
thought were really beautiful, especially in the second timeline. I could
really feel a change between his normal timeline Harry and how he was in the
second timeline. You could tell, especially at times in that timeline, that he
loves Albus and wants the best for him.
I lot of the good Ginny moments come in Part Two (which I
hadn’t realised; it’s fascinating how a new cast changes the whole balance and
feel of the show), so I don’t think we’ve seen too much of Emma yet. But what I
have seen I’ve liked, especially things she did around the duel scene. I can’t
help but wonder if this cast have rehearsed the second timeline a lot, because that
felt the most complete section of Part One for me.
From the first moment I saw the first photo of Theo in
character, my impression was that he was uptight and insecure and nerdy, and
that’s exactly what we got on stage. The photos and videos actually do give a
really good sense of how these characters are being played, looking back on
them with hindsight. I think Theo is really scared, but there are flashes of
how he will be when he’s relaxed, and I do think we got a small sense of how
he’ll be playing Albus going forward, which is entirely contrary to anything
Sam or Tom ever did (although I actually really like that).
James has always been my favourite Draco. He exudes
confidence and pain, and is one of those actors who’s shining. His Draco feels
the most complete of all the characters on the stage, just because he’s had so
much time to dig into him. I am so excited for his big moments in Act Two. I
should also mention that it helps that James seems to have chemistry with
everyone, from Thomas, to Jamie, to Samuel. All the people you want him to have
There is nothing to be said about Samuel beyond wow. His
Scorpius is nothing like anything we’ve ever seen before. In a similar way to
Theo, it’s the opposite to how Anthony or James played Scorpius. Brimming with
confidence. Enthusiastic and excitable. His crush on Rose is so explicit and
painfully cute. He’s just adorable, and he’s owning this character in a
completely new way. Scorpius is Samuel’s now, and I’m delighted with him.
And with all that initial assessment out of the way, let’s
have a look at the play itself!
-last night you fell asleep to thunder. this morning the sky was green. a tornado warning is posted. no one pays it any heed. you go to school anyway.
-a train blocks your vehicle’s path. this means you will be ten minutes late. drivers curse the trains. they are endless and slow. you stare and trace the graffiti with your eyes. you rather like the trains.
-your teachers sigh heavily throughout the day. half your classmates never show up. everyone is tired and weary. their laughter sounds like choking as they blame it on the weather. you look out the window. the sky is silver turning blue.
-your teachers make offhand comments about politics. you learn of all government affairs from the things they mutter irritably. you are angry about things you don’t fully understand. what is house bill 1380? you don’t remember its other names. you hate house bill 1380.
-it is wednesday and it is noon. the sky is bright. there’s not a cloud in sight. you hear tornado sirens. of course you do. it is wednesday and it is noon. you keep walking.
-you are driving home on the same street as always. something catches you off guard. you aren’t sure what it is. there is something different about the trees. you shake your head. there is always something different about the trees.
-as you eat your dinner you think of the past. they say oklahoma was once hilly and green. they also say it was red and barren. you look outside. a bunny hops through yellow grass. rain still drips from green leaves. it is february.
-you ask your friends about colleges. what are their plans? what are their goals? they don’t know, except to get the hell out of oklahoma. you nod in solidarity. that is also your goal. that is everyone’s goal.
-cicadas scream their mating calls. you don’t know when they began. you shouldn’t be aware of when they stop. when the night falls silent, you freeze. you weren’t supposed to hear them stop.
-tonight you fall asleep to dogs barking. you wonder what they know that you don’t. they might be barking at strangers. they might be barking at ghosts. you close your eyes and think of years long gone. you love those dogs.
This show is my third time seeing cursed child, second time in dress circle, second time premium tickets. Paid a ridiculous amount of money for the tickets (they were the £250 ones,,, I cried when the money left my bank account) buttttt the seats were amazing. Row C, aisle seats !!! amazing. Incredible. Best seats I’ve had so far.
Little run down of moments that made me smile:
Everything. He is a gem, a rare gem. This is the second time I’ve seen anto as Scorpius and (my first one was in August last year) he has changed COMPLETELY. He is so much more gentle and emotional, his voice is still squeaky and charismatic but he’s outgoing in a less obvious way. His movements and voice mean that whenever there is an exciting, funny moment- the audience appreciate it so much more. Everyone loved him today. He was so adorable ??? He kept wiping his nose, sniffing (I thought anto was sick but I’m pretty sure he was fine at stage door), fiddling with his hair. The library scene and staircase ballet ended me. I’m pretty sure he actually cried at the staircases. Therefore I cried. He was so sweet during the owlery scene. He and Sam kept bumping into each other during the show and in the owlery scene as Scorpius says “and wake up everyone at hog warts?” he just echoed “hogwarts warts warts warts” and everyone died. The whole yelling “help” moment was sweet as well. He ran across the stage and everyone lost it. He and Sam were also very sweet during a lot of the play. On the train anto knelt down and held onto sams leg, cute. In the church scene they side hugged and patted each other on their backs. Also as Albus reassured Harry he was fine, anto was sat on the floor and he shuffled over to gently squeeze Sam’s arm. Eeeeep! Special mention to the last scene- the two of them were soooo close, there was a nose boop, several pokes and it was adorable. He also repeatedly overexaggerated certain lines like “you can stand with me” as Albus got sorted into slytherin. I love anto, I can’t wait to see him in something new but I will miss him as my baby Scorpius.
Oh Sam. Sam is so under appreciated, today was a Sam day for me. I spent so much time just admiring Sam. He’s exceptional. His angst and emotion, facial expressions and movements destroy me. Even in the first few scenes as he sits on the trunk watching everyone stare he had me broken. His facial expressions…. gahhhhh!!!!! I told him several times today how exceptional he is and he’s responded to all of them so I’m glad he’s getting the love he deserves :’) he looked so sad during the ballet, as usual. And he and Jamie were on fire today during the arguments. Right up in each other’s faces, yelling and so overcome with emotion. He’s the kind of actor who doesn’t just learn what he has to do- he learns the lines but the lines become part of who his character is and it all feels so natural. He’s so talented. His interaction with poppy always makes me cry and his chemistry with anto,,, there would be no scorbus without Sam and it seems that people forget that sometimes. He is so talented and deserves love and acknowledgement of that. He was so incredible during the Delphi/Scorpius/Albus scenes. His face and voice when Scorpius was crucioed god I cried so hard. Sam always brings something new and fresh and I feel so honoured to have seen his Albus three times. He made Albus for me, he is Albus and I honestly appreciate his characterisation so much. Sam clemmett is an exceptionally talented actor and I will be front at the queue to purchase tickets to whatever he does next.
Have only ever seen Alex’s draco so this was a wonderful surprise to see James. And boyyyy he loved up to my expectation. Alex has a more humorous side, his lines have a hint of laughter and he makes draco funny while also sensitive. But James,,,,, god James took it to a different place. He took draco somewhere darker, someone trapped inside his own emotions. I felt the intensity whenever he was on stage. During the duel with harry, he sounded almost sinister on the “I want to hurt you” likes. It was immense. The office scene in part two with Scorpius,,, the way he speaks the line about Scorpius. I was so emotional during his delivery of the speech about Astoria. He built up all these sinister walls around draco and tore them all down in the really emotional moments. I am so glad he is taking over as draco because he is AMAZING. During the church scene he comforted Scorpius at the door, kept rubbing his shoulder asking if he was okay. I felt the malfoy love and he played dad!draco so well. During the next scene watching Lily and James die,,, he pulled anto into his side, comforted him with love while battling his own emotions. Breathtaking. Truly breathtaking. I’m honoured to have seen him perform.
As usual the rest of the cast were incredible. Noma always impresses, Paul was as funny as always. The polyjuice scene always brightens my day. Jamie was incredible. He was more emotional than I’ve ever seen him before. During fights and yelling and after the dreams he was so deep into Harry I had shivers down my spine. I also want to celebrate poppy because she is also lovely. I love her Ginny. She makes her the doting mother while retaining the independence and strength Ginny has had all her life. I also just want to appreciate her run- when she runs on and off stage it makes me happy. She has an adorable run. I wanted to tell her at stage door but it seemed like such a random thing to say to someone lmao.
The audience took a while to get into it today. There weren’t many laughs until the second interval of part 1. Which was a shame because the polyjuice potion scene didn’t get as much appreciation as it deserved. A lot of the funny lines also got overlooked (imo) but lord knows hannah was there laughing herself to tears at everything. By the end everyone was enthralled. Standing ovation, cheers and tears and happiness all around. The rightful response. This cast are immense. I love them. I love this play.
Carey Fangbattle never had a best friend. She had a brother, and that was the same, but different, because it only lasted for a little while. They were always together, and then Jerem—Scales. And then Scales left home, and Carey joined the Bureau, and that was that.
Earlier this year I Made a Playlist on my OLD YouTube channel that consists of Nancy Drew walkthroughs that I listen to to help me sleep and help me relax. Do you think I should make the Playlist public for everyone to enjoy and post a link on here?
