touche-amore

Hi friends, we’re happy to finally be releasing Shinobu’s “Worstward, Ho!” on vinyl for its 10 year anniversary. We got a few old Shinobu friends/fans to write about the record and band and what they mean to them. The first is Elliot Babin, from Touche Amore and Warm Thoughts (you can spot him in this photo standing in the front row of the show he mentions).

“I first saw Shinobu in 2006? 2005? They were on tour with Bomb The Music Industry/AJJ I think. I saw them play in a comedy club in Santa Monica where I had never seen shows before. I was blown away by the energy they brought. I couldn’t believe the power and urgency that the vocals were delivered with. I remember thinking it sounded like the singer was going to dry heave if he went any harder, in the best way possible. I got my hands on Worstward, Ho! ASAP and proceeded to jam it on repeat. Many days of dancing in my room to "T-T-T-Trepanning” and “Boourns” commenced. Happy 10 years! Here’s to 10 more!“
