touche dad

now, I don’t understand. Supernatural set Castiel up to be a father figure for Claire, right? That was the whole point of Claire’s storyline, to give Cas a sense of his own family etc etc

But then, supernatural also set up Dean as Claire’s father figure? But they didn’t do the same with Sam.

Like, that is something spn did ON PURPOSE.

they literally made Cas and Dean Claire’s dads.

so okay, just picture this for a second real quick

derek shifting into wolf!derek on the back porch of the rebuilt hale house with stiles by his side, and their daughter giggling next to them, clapping her small hands together because “daddy went doggy!”

derek can’t even feel any form of irritation about the fucking dog joke because it came from his daughter, who is happier than ever, making grabby hands at stiles, squealing “up, up, up!”

and derek, just, he’s fucking wagging his tail for fuck’s sake because how could he not when he has everything in the world right there next to him: his daughter wrapping her arms around his furry neck, giggling in his ear, stiles absolutely beaming at the both of them, looking dazed and awed, eyes full of absolute love

derek can’t help but whine, overwhelmed with all the fucking emotions, and just butts his big head against stiles’ stomach, trembling when he feels hands so familiar slide over the top of his head, scratching and rubbing just behind his right ear

a huff of air leaves derek as if he’s trying to explain everything in that one breath, and stiles, stiles just knows, understands the meaning, and whispers back with a knowing smile on his face, “i know, big guy. we love you, too.”

anonymous asked:

does tony think of peter as a son?

probably not consciously. he treats him kind of like a son sometimes, but that’s not very unusual for tony. tony has to be watched closely or he adopts stray genius children everywhere he goes.

mostly it’s pretty long distance–he emails and videocalls them, sets up scholarships, funds research, talks them through school problems, introduces them to employers… i know for a fact that at least half of the starkphone beta testers are sleep-deprived students across the country who tony has run into at some convention or facility tour and decided to keep. some of them come to work at Stark Industries eventually, but a fair number go into other fields.

he has a strange ability to pinpoint exactly which kid in any given cluster is an untapped well of talent looking for mentoring. we have a number of bets running on if he’s doing it consciously or not.

either way, he does it a lot.

he’s not very cuddly or touchy-feely with them, and he gets hilariously defensive if you poke him about it, but he’s actually a really good mentor, and he does really care. i mean, sometimes he uses the ‘do the exact opposite of what i would do’ method of role modelling, but…

Tucker’s just really glad Wash is okay.

Helion - a journey in naming

Heli - sun; Latin, from Greek hēli-, hēlio-, from hēlios

I have this headcanon that Albus and Scorpius were born almost at the same time or at least only a couple of hours apart so Draco and Harry were stuck together in the waiting room while Ginny and Astoria were giving births. And Harry noticing what a nervous wreck Draco was, took pity on him and awkwardly tried to reassure him because he knew what it was like to wait for the birth of a child for the first time. And when Scorpius and Albus were born, Draco and Harry introduced them to each other.

And surprisingly, both dads kept in touch, Harry offering some dad!tips and Draco absorbing all the information like a sponge. And then they organised playdates for their kids and that’s how Scorpius and Albus became bffs literally from the cradle (and James began feeling very protective of both of them).

Burnie Burns has retired to live the rest of his life in the country side. No more crime for him. No more shootouts. No more fearing for his life. No more heists, or looking over his shoulder, or dodging the police. Just a nice quiet life spent in peace.

But no one believes that. Burnie could post pictures of himself on the other side of the world and the people of Los Santos would still claim that he’s creeping around the the shadows.

No one can believe he’s gone.

Especially not when the Fakes start to get big. Then the rumors really spread. One guy swears he knew someone who knew someone who threatened the Fakes once, threatened Ramsey once, and was hang from his toes and eaten by rats. The last thing he ever saw was Burns smirking face.

The rumors annoy Geoff. They undermine his own power. Undermine how dangerous the Fakes are. But it’s not like he can call Burns out on it. Because for all that no one believed it, Burns had retired. Geoff helped the fucker move down to Texas, for godsakes. There should be no way that Burnie could influence people from there. And Geoff was sure he wouldn’t get a straight answer from Burnie himself. Only a smug “I’m out, remember, Geoff.” A self-satisfied “Why, I was enjoying my day of drinking and fishing before you called, Geoff.”

So all Geoff can do is grit his teeth and push his crew farther, plan more dangerous and flashy heists, and work harder so it’s him the city is worried about and not Burnie fucking Burns.

Which very well might be what Burnie wanted. He had always been the father figure Geoff never had and the brother he always wished for. It was Burnie who had instilled in Geoff that a crew was a family and loyalty was number one. Burnie made no secret of it that he fully supported Geoff when the man declared he was going to start his own crew. Geoff had to work for it, but he knew Burnie was there. Silently cheering him on.

Burnie was also found of the crew Geoff managed to gather and it showed. Showed in the way he doted on Gavin, when he came to visit, and the way he nodded along with Ryan as they talked. It showed in the affectionate way he spoke to Jack. It showed as he and Michael entered a screaming match during an intense game of Halo. It showed in the way he sent a box, hand carved and more expensive than most of Gavin’s clothes, to hold the cracked DS of their fallen crew mate. It showed when he popped up for Christmas with packages under his arms, even one for Jeremy, who had just joined the main crew.

As much as Geoff hated it, he knew Burnie had taken up the role of a sort of Godfather and would most likely be keeping an eye out for them for the rest of his life. And when Geoff was just drunk enough, he could admit that it was nice, having that kind of support. If everything went to shit, at least he still had Burnie.

Didn’t make him less annoying, though.

ok, im such a fan of Touch Starved Virgil and the Soft Boys, but heres a concept:

instead of virgil melting at contact because oh my thats nice what about, instead, recoiling? its too much, get it away, why are you in mY BUBBLE BUZZ OFF!!!

because thats how i am after going ages with minimal to no contact. im used to the isolation, and anything unsolicited is a direct affront to my entire existence. its prickly and sharp and frankly annoying when suddenly people get even casually touchy with me.

so give me that. give me aggressive virgil. give me virgil who is caught off guard and is nasty. give me virgil who cant quite pinpoint Why hes so snarly and rude recently (after the others make it their “mission” to fix how touch starved he is) and since he can’t figure it out he cant really stop being awful to the others. give me venomous insults and rude dismissals.

give me logan so baffled because we started slow and sparse so as not too overwhelm him whats happening? give me roman just as annoyed and frustrated as virgil because virgil is just rude and crass with us when we try to be nice so what’s the point? give me patton confused and sad because virgil is being mean when i try to love him what am i doing wrong~? give me thomas vaguely aware that hes more averse to contact than usual but doesn’t know its due to the internal drama. give me miscommunication and high emotions over something seemingly trivial.

give me frustration and confusion.
