touch the skyfall

Skyfall is about Bond being redundant in a modern world; a relic, an old man out of touch.

And whether this was deliberate to make this point or it was just what happened on set (it’s not mentioned on the commentary), nothing convinces me more of Bond’s out-of-touch old person nature than when he has to physically tap Tanner’s screen to point at the henchman who shot him.

Why must old people always touch the screen?
