top voices

So superpup (who is 2 and ¼) has learnt 2 new words: 1) Football. Which is said ‘bootbauw’ 2) Tits. Perfectly clear, exactly as the word sounds. And usually yelled at the top of his voice at any given moment when Mummy is least expecting it. Such as this morning, when we had to walk past the women on the trampoline at the sports centre to get to football…

Starbot Dubs Contest Winners

We have deliberated aggressively over these past few weeks, and have finally decided on the winners. There will also be an extremely long list of honorable mentions, and we’re giving small little awards to honorable mentions that we really liked in particular!

That post is going to take me a while to write up (there are around 25 honorable mentions) so please be patient, I might not have that up tonight ^^

Also, since one submission wowed us so much we couldn’t choose, there will be a Top 6 instead of a Top 5!

And here are they are, in no particular order!

1. A really well edited entry, that made both of us chuckle quite a bit. papercoolcat’s DBZ parody entry!

2. An entry that was Starbot’s personal favorite, the Gashadokuro by The Under Cover Snowflake!

3. A comic with impeccable voice acting that made both of us squeal, Goat Boi’s Omnic!

4. A webcomic that both of us love and enjoy, WritersBlah’s Helvetica Dub!

5. An amazing entry with superb voice acting, Method B. Madness’s Eddie, You Scoundrel!

Melly I read that Zayn in a golf cart gif set in his accent and now I would like you to transcribe the whole scene in Zaynglish please. As a matter of fact, is there a way you can go into every fanfic ever and overwrite every Zayn speech and dialogue in Zaynglish? Thanks, you're the best!

Desert Island Top 5 Break Ups from High Fidelity at The Paramount (2/25/17)

Still Got Time

Still Got Time was released on March 24, 2017.

Zayn is the featured artist. Additional artist is PartyNextDoor.

The song is the lead single from Zayn’s second album, yet to be released. It was produced by Frank Dukes (who recently produced Lorde’s Green Light, and has worked with Rihanna and Drake) and Murda Beatz (who produced No Frauds for Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Lil Wayne).

In this post, I will be referring to times from this video:

I admit I’m not used to writing about dance or R&B music, and if I make any glaring mistakes, please message me!

This song is part of the slew of Caribbean-inspired tropical house or Jamaican dancehall music that have drifted in and out of pop charts recently, often collaborations between artists and producers, whose engineering of bass lines and percussion is a significant portion of the songwriting.

These songs might sound tropical, and fresh, and sunny, but their pedigree is firmly rooted in Motown R&B. And the looming figure in contemporary R&B and dance whose influence and sound are inescapable is Michael Jackson

Official Dad Review of: Sign of the Times

I told my dad nothing. About Matt, about my interpretation and the general interpretation of the song. A little known fact about my dad is that he’s very musically gifted (piano, guitar, trumpet, everything) but he hides it. Still, he knows music and understands it very deeply.

These are copied and pasted texts I got from him.

“1. I’ve listened to it twice now and I can totally play the whole song. That’s not to say that the song is bad, it’s just very simple… he’s not really stretching himself musically… or should I say as a musician.”

“2. It is produced very very well! Meaning the production value is awesome!!! Top notch studio work!!! Absolutely top notch. His voice is absolutely amazing and he is undoubtedly feeling every word he is singing! The kid can sing!”

“3. If you have ever heard “Major Tom” by David Bowie it has that type of vibe to it… I’m going to listen to them side by side because I’m not convinced it’s not the same bridge yet. At one point I tried to sing in my head ground control to major Tom, and it fit!“

“4. I feel like he is EXTREMELY committed to a friend who passed and was deeply emotional about the ending of the relationship….
He he is using a technique called vamping where he uses the same lyrics over and over to express his sadness. So for that reason I think it feels like raw emotion coming through, which is a beautiful thing…
What are the bullets about? Is it a metaphor? Did his friend kill himself?”

[At which point I told him about Matt]

“I knew it. I got that from the song.
You can’t bribe the door was a very powerful lyric! It made me think that the guy killed himself.”

“From a musician standpoint it’s not too difficult to learn.
In terms of what they did to this very simple melody in the studio it was amazing!”

“In terms of emotional content and the artistry that Harry has it was outstanding”

Overall be gives it an 8/10 and is incredibly intrigued and excited for the rest of the album.
