Pairings: Logicality

For their three year anniversary, Logan had carefully made Patton a teddy bear that said “I love you BEAR-y much”. He had also carefully chosen something that he hoped would make this anniversary the best one yet, keeping it in a small box in his pocket for the day. It had taken lots of preparation, seeing as how he’d had to learn how to sew before he could make the bear, and he’d had to make sure that his other gift was perfect before he could go through with any of the other parts of his plan, but he knew that all the work he’d put in would be worth it. Anything for Patton would always be worth it.

Having to keep Patton out of his room for the last day had proved to be quite the challenge. Patton came to his door constantly, forcing Logan to quickly hide what he was working on to keep his present secret.

He had finally finished the bear, just in time for the dinner he had planned, and he carefully hid it in one of the cabinets in the kitchen before walking to Patton’s room. He knocked on the door, and after hearing Patton’s voice say, “Come in!”, he pushed open the door and walked to the desk in which Patton was sitting. He smiled at his love, and offered a hand to help him up. The two walked shoulder to shoulder into the kitchen, where Patton’s favorite foods had been conjured by Roman at Logan’s request.

Upon seeing the meal Patton turned and wrapped his arms around Logan’s neck, whispering, “Awwww Logan! You didn’t have to do this for me, I woul-”

Logan interrupted him by saying, “You deserve only the best, my darling honeybee. Let me give that to you.” Afterwards, the two shared a gentle kiss, and once it was broken, Logan pulled out a chair for Patton. Patton giggled as he was seated, leaving Logan with a smile on his face as he pulled out the other chair at the table and sat down.

They enjoyed their meal of macaroni and cheese by candlelight, and once they had both finished, Patton moved to get up. He grabbed Logan’s hand and started pulling him towards the living room, saying, “I think a good way to end tonight would be to cuddle. Does that sound like a good idea to you?” Logan smiled as he said, “That does sound wonderful, my dearest heart. I would be delighted to cuddle with you, but maybe you would consider dancing with me instead?”

Patton’s face flushed slightly, and he nodded with a grin that never failed to make Logan’s heart skip a beat.

Logan snapped his fingers and Patton’s grin widened as “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole started playing. They wrapped their arms around each other, when to Patton’s surprise, Logan started softly singing along.

“L is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see” Logan paused in his singing to kiss the tip of Patton’s nose, causing Patton to giggle. “E is even more than anyone that you adore and love, is all that I can give to you, love is more than just a game for two.” Logan swept Patton off the ground as he sang, “Two in love can make it”, Patton joined in and sang, “Take my heart and please don’t break it!” They laughed together and harmonized, singing, “Love was made for me and you”. They swayed together for the rest of the song, and softly sang along as the volume subtly decreased. Once the song had ended, gentle piano music began softly playing in the background. Logan looked at the light of his life and said, “Patton, I have a gift for you, and I wish to give it to you now, if that’s alright with you.”

Patton gently pecked Logan on the cheek and said, “Oh, I’m so excited Lolo! I know I’ll love it.”

Logan squeezed his hands before waking over and reaching into the cabinet in which he’d hidden the bear. Once it was in his grasp, he held it behind his back and walked back over to Patton.

“Close your eyes honeybee.” Logan gently instructed, to which Patton quickly complied. Logan placed the bear in his love’s hands and told him to look. Patton’s eyes widened as he examined the animal, and he spun around, holding it close and telling Logan how much he loved it, only to complete his turn and find Logan kneeling on the floor holding a black, velvet box. He took a sharp breath and put the hand not holding the bear over his mouth.

Logan took a deep breath and opened the box. He looked Patton in the eyes and said, “Patton, I used to think myself incapable of emotions. I used to think that my only worth came from how much I could contribute to Thomas, that I was unnecessary. But you have changed that. I can now see the love in the world, the joy, the hope. I see the love that radiates from you, and it never fails to make my heart sing. You are the joy of the soul I didn’t think I had, the light of a life I once saw as meaningless. Existence without you will never be complete, and that’s why I ask this of you.” He took one more deep breath and asked, “Patton Sanders, will you marry me?”

Patton’s eyes started leaking tears as he collapsed onto Logan, crying, “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, a million times yes, forever and always yes!” They spent the next few minutes sitting on the floor and holding each other, crying tears of happiness.

Once Patton started to nod off, Logan gently picked up his fiancé and walked them into the living room, where they spent the first night of their engagement simply loving each other.

Sweet tooth- Anakin decides to cook a savory meal for his beloved to celebrate the holiday. Of course Obi-Wan is fretting about celebrating and starts baking. Anakin wonders how he ever believed that his former master was completely emotionless

Watching the other with a tiny smile, Anakin leaned against the kitchen doorway as Obi-Wan stumbled about the kitchen as a baking hurricane.

The entire quarters smelled of sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmegs and just so much more.

The reason why?

Outside of Obi-Wan’s obvious baking addiction when he was stressed that is was that it was soon Life Day and Obi-Wan was preparing for it by baking everyday. So many different kinds of cookies, pastries and cakes put into stasis so they would last and not grow stale or soggy, not all of them all the way done in case they needed cream fillings which would be done when served.

Obi-Wan himself looked…

Well to Anakin he looked adorable.

There were streaks of flour through Obi-Wan’s hair from where he’d run his hand through it occasionally along with some around the corner of Obi-Wan’s lips and his chin where he’d rubbed his beard. Various chocolate, spices, flour and powdered sugar stains were on his green and red apron, his sleeves were rolled up and he was rushing around barefoot.

A slight layer of sweat had gathered on his brow.

But he looked happy even if he was frazzled with his hair standing up everywhere and he was filthy from the flour.

And perhaps that was why the other man looked adorable.

How Anakin could ever believe this frazzled, adorable, high anxiety driven man was ever emotionless the blond did not know but he wasn’t about to make that mistake again as he stepped into the kitchen and into Obi-Wan’s path, the redhead smacking into it with a yelp.

“Anakin!” Obi-Wan looked up at him a bit, blinking as the man settled his hands on his shoulders to keep him in place. “What is-”

“You’ve been baking for hours Obi-Wan.” Anakin laughed, passing the back of his mech hand over Obi-Wan’s cheek to come away with flour to show him. “I think you should clean this up, go shower and come join me for lunch.” He murmured warmly as Obi-Wan peered at the back of the black glove.

“But I still have a lot to bake Anaki-” He cut himself off when the blond leaned in and kissed him sweetly.

“You can’t skip food and rest just to bake Obi-Wan. If you want, I’ll help you decorate them and ask Ahsoka to help us bake.” He grinned.

Hesitating, Obi-Wan glanced about the kitchen before smiling too and nodding. “Alright just let me…” He stepped away and started cleaning away finished dough into the fridge, put away baking items and tools.

Then he toddled off to the fresher to take the shower and throw his soiled clothes into the laundry chute.

And with that, Anakin took his chance.

Out of the fridge came the two day rested marinaded bantha steaks, the tub of garlic potato mash he’d made earlier that day and the vegetables he was going to roast in the oven with butter. With everything he needed found, Anakin jumped into action and by the time Obi-Wan came out rubbing his hair dry after spoiling himself with a water shower there was a mouth watering meal ready for both of them to share consisting of steak, creamy potato mash with garlic flavor, roasted butter vegetables and a light onion sauce to blend with it all.

Anakin had set the table with their normal cutlery but had found a fancy blue tablecloth and a few wonderful candlelight’s to set the atmosphere.

“You’ve been so busy spoiling me that I figured it was time someone spoiled you.” Anakin greeted Obi-Wan’s stunned face, drawing his former master by the hand close. “Tada?” He murmured softly.

“…You adorable dolph.” Obi-Wan laughed faintly before pecking him softly on the lips.

Grinning, Anakin just dragged the redhead to the plated up table, intent on enjoying good food and good company.

You hammered your fist against the gnarled, oaken door. There came no response, however, from within the ramshackle dwelling. The exterior was stark and deceptive in its neglect, as though the groaning structure had long remained uninhabited. But you were wise to its front, and wiser to the occupant’s proclivity for spurning visitors. Eyes darting furtively around the encroaching darkness, you hissed through the obstacle. “Let me in, goddamnit! It’s me!”

At your prompting, muffled movement filtered through the crevices in the door’s uneven surface. You heard a series of dull clanks as the gratuitously heavy bolts you knew to adorn the interior of the door scraped out of their settings.

It opened only a fraction, as befitting of the inhabitant you knew to dwell here. Ever the cautious type. He allowed you only the smallest glimpse of him; a sliver of an eye, narrowed in disquietude. Despite the thickness of the barrier between you, you heard him well. His voice was oddly steely, and noticeably absent of the warmth with which he normally regarded you. “What are you doing here?”

Look closely! This isn’t just any old skull: A curious confluence of history, industry, and art can be seen in the bones of this rough-toothed dolphin (Steno bredanensis). The 19.5-inch-long skull is covered with scrimshaw, colored carvings of trees, flags, ships, and a harlequin pattern. It’s a large and unusual example of the distinctive 19th-century art form that flourished among whalers.
