Hey loves, this masterpost was partially requested and I’m so excited. I recommend to do your research before buying the dupe, some of the dupes are better than others. Some brands are repeated. Here is a dupe masterpost for MAC lipsticks. Here is a dupe masterpost for liquid lipsticks. Here is a spreadsheet of Coastal Scents eyeshadows to MAC eyeshadow dupes. Most of these dupes I found online so I do not take credit for any of those but some I researched myself. This is under read more because this list is very long. :) If you have any more dupes or questions, feel free to send them in.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a look here! Haven’t been wearing fun makeup much, eh, nothing new. I’m out of liquid liner so that’s kind of contributed to it, but personally I think this look works nicely without it!
Yesterday I wore Bone, Fringe, Silk, and Velvet from the Kat Von D Metal/Matte palette and Specter from the Urban Decay Moondust palette (over Too Faced Glitter Glue) on the lid. My mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex. My inner corner and face highlight is Pink Heart from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild palette (for the inner corners, I use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Cottage Cheese as a base to make it brighter).
On my face I’m also wearing the Elf Contour Palette, Benefit Rockateur boxed blush, and TheBalm’s Cindy-Lou Manizer as a topper for more glow. My lipstick is No Angel from Marc Jacobs (definitely one of my favorite nudes)!
I doubt anyone of my friends involved will see this so here goes:
My friend is having an 80s rock star themed birthday party and I’m going as Jem. Its a surprise so shhhhh lol.
I figured all the usual suspects would be taken: Madonna, Cindy Lopper, Kylie minogue (she was around in the 80s doing the locomotion) Joan Jet, Wilson Phillips (any of those ladies) Paula Abdul, Stevie Nicks, you get the gyst of it.
Since Jem is a cartoon rock star the rules still apply and I figured it was a safe bet no one would dress as her. Also I get to rock that iconic makeup and that’s truely why I wanted to be her!
This was my trial run to see how and what products to use to achieve her look. I don’t have my pink wig yet so I used some old clip ins from my magenta hair days (that I now miss having)
For those curious this trial run consisted of:
KVD everlasting liquid lipstick in Beloved as a base for all the pink
Mac pigment in a neo-orange to set
La Splash glitter in golden tangerine
Too Faced glitter glue
NYX white waterproof liner on waterline
Over the lips is a lise watier pink iridescent pigment.
Watch the ball drop in style thanks to these five staple holiday looks.
If there’s one night a year to go big on makeup, make it this one. New Year’s Eve is the time when everyone—even ladies who prefer the no-makeup makeup look—classes up her act. RED LIPSTICK Come midnight, you’ll probably be drinking champagne, dancing up a storm, and/or making out with somebody, so you’ll want a lip that will stay put. When you’re ready to rock out with your perfect pout, Stephanie says to wear a matte or a stain, not a gloss or oil. A finishing powder can help set it, but if you use one, don’t apply it directly on your lips. Instead, place a tissue on your lips and then dab the finishing powder lightly on top. And don’t forget to first exfoliate and hydrate as you’re getting ready—make your lips something people actually wanna smooch. FALSIES False eyelashes are admittedly tricky when you first learn to apply them, so Stephanie first says to practice a few days before your party—if you take care of them, they can be worn multiple times. Most people forget to trim the lash, which is a key step. Use brow scissors to trim the outer corner, but never the inner, so the lashes aren’t hitting your browbone. And don’t forget to apply extra adhesive to those corners (that’s where lashes tend to accidentally pop off). DRY SHAMPOO While dry shampoo is a great morning-after tool when showering just isn’t in the cards, it’s also an excellent way to add volume and preserve your coif after a wash. Stephanie says dry shampoo will absorb oils and keep your style looking fresh throughout the night. So before you set your style with hairspray, lift your hair (or flip your head) to apply dry shampoo on the roots. Shake out with your fingers, and you’re done! P.S. Here’s a free tip: If your body is hydrated, your makeup will look better. Stephanie says that when you’re dehydrated, your skin will draw in the moisture from your makeup. This will leave your face looking cracked and flakey—not cute. If you plan to imbibe alcohol, which will further dehydrate you, make sure you’re drinking lots of water throughout the day. Your 2015 self will thank you too!
Yesterday an anon asked me to create a makeup look for prom that would go well with a red dress. So this is what I came up with! ☺️ If you don’t want the details, feel free to reblog this (😉) and keep scrolling on but if you do, let’s get started!
