tonys town square restaurant

“My family doesn’t have a lot of money, but we scraped enough to go to Tony’s in MK for my 18th. The experience was awful. The bathroom was a mess, there were flies everywhere, our waiter rushed us through our (mediocre) meal, and there were cleaning rags and old plates on tables next to us that sat there the entire meal. Maybe it was just a bad day for it, but it was a really big disappointment on a really big day. I just became an adult and I already feel the Disney magic slipping away.”

This Day in Disney History

July 24, 1989:  The Town Square Cafe reopens as Tony’s Town Square Cafe, on Mainstreet USA.

Originally an open air restaurant, I’m sure the unpredictability of Florida’s weather was a key factor in enclosing this dining venue.  Now completely enclosed (and air conditioned!), Tony’s Town Square restaurant is themed after the restaurant that Lady and the Tramp went to to share that infamous bowl of spaghetti and meatballs.  One of the few places in the world that it is 100% appropriate to nudge a meatball across the table to your honey with your nose!
