I think that the real problem with the Thor Franchise is that you have this deep, emotionally flawed character as a villian who faces problems so real such as jealosy, envy, feelings of inadequacy, internalized racism, the absence of the father figure, the death of the mother, a strong inferiority complex, and ultimately facing the consequences of growing up in a debatable emotionally abusive family. However, the hero’s main problems throughout the last two films have been gaining his superpowers back, saving the world from generic villians, and missing his human girlfriend. The importance and relevance of both characters’ obstacles in the story are so disproportional that it’s ridiculous.
