(October) Imagine:

You feel watched lately, followed. Even when you’re home alone, you feel like things move on their own, and when you’re in bed at night, you dare not open your eyes because you’re certain you’ll meet a pair of eyes in the dark, someone sitting in the corner of your bedroom looking at you. He’s taken many forms, he’s greeted you as your neighbor, he was the stray cat you saw one day on your way to work, he even pretended to be a relative; you invited Loki into your home, and he’s got no good intentions.

Shorter than the Comic-Con trailer, and re-cut, but here’s the Japanese trailer.
Thor filming wraps in space dump created in northern Gold Coast quarry
by Lea Emery

THE Asgardians have touched down in Oxenford for the final time with their last day of shooting on the Gold Coast spent in a sci-fi wasteland.

The final shots were captured on Thor: Ragnarok yesterday and stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson followed the lead of director Taika Waititi on a tour around the set shot via Facebook Live.

The stars and crew are expected to be celebrating the end of filming tonight with a wrap party at a Surfers Paradise hotel.

Space junk and hollowed out spaceship shells littered Oxenford Quarry for the last day of the 18 week shoot which saw stars converge on the Gold Coast.

Waititi and Hemsworth joke around, teasing the movie will be a straight-to-VHS production.

“There is only going to be one copy,” Hemsworth said.

“And you have to share it around.”

Waititi was careful to keep his shaking selfie stick away from any potential big secrets from the movie, at one stage turning the camera to the ground.

Bits and pieces of alien technology litter the space dump, with large piles of scrap metal and debris strewn around the quarry.

Waititi makes mention of the “beautiful scenery” they have experienced on the Gold Coast but was not too impressed with the flies.

Plenty of swords and guns were seen around the set and stunt crew were on hand, signifying the final shots could be a significant battle scene.

In Norse mythology, on which the Thor series is heavily based, Ragnorak loosely translates to “Twilight of the Gods” and the myth tells of the eventual destruction of the universe and mankind.

Hemsworth also took the last day of shooting to join the protest against the Dakota access pipeline which has been slated to go across the Standing Rock Sioux Reserve in North Dakota.

The star posted an Instagram snap with Waititi holding a sign which read, “We stand with Standing Rock.”

Hemsworth has previously been accused of cultural insensitivity for wearing a Native American costume at a Lone Ranger-themed New Year’s Party and addressed the controversy in his post.

“Last New Year’s Eve I was at a ‘Lone Ranger’ themed party where some of us, myself included, wore the traditional dress of First Nations people,” he wrote.

“I was stupidly unaware of the offence this may have caused and the sensitivity around this issue.

“I now appreciate that there is a great need for a deeper understanding of the complex and extensive issues facing indigenous communities.”

Hemsworth apologised and said he hoped in highlighting his own ignorance he could help in some way.

The shoot has bought international attention to the city, with stars including Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jeff Goldblum and Mark Ruffalo captured enjoying the city.

The biggest boom came Hiddleston’s former flame, pop powerhouse Taylor Swift jetted into Coolangatta near the beginning of filming.
