What does it mean when women are expected to be submissive to their husbands? This concerns me because i'm not naturally submissive and I'm not sure i would want to be a homemaker but i also don't want to go against the church

“Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:22, 25 RSVCE).

Submission means that, after praying, carefully researching, and discussing the situation with his wife, the husband has the final say.

I am struggling with this, too. I’m not sure if I should work after having my first child or if I should stay at home. This is something I’ll discuss with my future husband.

The couple should respectfully and lovingly consider what the other has to say and why they say that. Manipulation must be completely avoided. The wife should not submit if the husband wants her to sin or if he is going to do something horrible (Think of when Esther exposed Haman’s plan to kill the Jewish people. Ahasuerus, the king of Persia, would have been misled by Haman, but his wife, Esther, stopped him.).

The husband and wife should be spiritually mature and desire to follow the will of God in all that they do.

This can be hard, especially since today’s culture is against submission in marriage and some of us have adopted that view without even realizing it. This is definitely something to work on. Ask God to help you be a submissive wife and ask Him for a godly husband who will love you as Christ loved the Church.

You already mentioned a great example: working outside the home or being a stay-at-home mom (Other examples include where to send the kids to school, where to go to church, where to live, where to invest money, what appliances to have in the home, etc.). Weigh the pros and cons, pray together, and discuss this, but the husband has the final say. Maybe he wants you to work. Maybe he wants you to stay at home. If you want to learn how to be content as a homemaker, I highly recommend following Christian homemakers on YouTube. They give excellent advice.

Sarah from Happy Homelife on YouTube is an amazing godly woman and homemaker. I can’t find the video I’m thinking of right now, but she once talked about the time when she and her husband couldn’t decide what bowls to have for the kitchen. Even small things can make a difference. We should let husbands lead. As she said, our submission encourages their leadership.

Remember, always pray and ask God for guidance.

I hope this helped! God bless!

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

I always have visions of my future husband slowly walking around our living room cradling our child, while listening to some reggae or soul and I’m peacefully going back to sleep, feeling vulnerable but reassured that I’m safe, because we’re a team and I know he’s got us.

You Died

Author: Juju

Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader

Summary: Sebastian comes home only to find you crying. He freaks out, thinking something happened, but he calms down once he figures out what’s going on.

Warnings: A smidge of angst but it’s hardly there. A shit ton of fluff.

A/N: This happened like 2 minutes ago. There are still tears in my eyes. I don’t know why I decided to re-watch The First Avenger.

P.S. I just realized that I’m on my period and that’s why I’m so emotional. I’m sorry.

“Y/N! I’m home!” Sebastian called out as he walked into your shared apartment. He turned to the living room, where you usually were when he came home, only to find it empty. He went to the kitchen, but you weren’t there either. On his way to the bedroom, he heard you sniffling and picked up his pace in fear.
