to be rebel

@xpaintedladyx more than happy to, lov!!!!

I love love love this shot of my Hera taken at SWCO by @FuryZhil on twitter.

This was right as Celebration was shutting down on the last day and we were slowly inching our towards the exit

I wanted to write tonight but couldn’t settle on a story really, so…instead I wrote this. It’s almost more of a headcanon written like a story. There is no dialogue, but it was still nice to write something. And it was different than before so that was fun.

It’s a future AU fic (I think I wanted to write something after that ask, though I’d still like to write something else in the future, maybe when I can settle on an idea xD) that kind of focuses on Ezra and Sabine dealing with scars from the past.

My brain is kind of tired so I’m not sure what else to add…but I hope y’all like it!

Fice below the cut:

I like to think that sabine hugged hera right before she left with the boys for krownest and hera was like “what’s this for?” and sabine says something ridiculous like ~one for the road~ or smth but in reality she knows in her heart she’s not coming back and she needs a goodbye hug from the mom that made her feel safe and loved when her own mother couldn’t

How expensive would you say cosplaying normally is, on average?

I have done exactly two ‘proper’ cosplays in my life so I can’t really comment on the average cost. I would say ‘expensive’ is about right. You can, of course, do closet cosplays and there are ways to be thrifty, but it still all adds up as a hobby. Costuming is an expensive hobby.

I don’t remember how much my terrible Ahsoka cost, but my Hera was pretty pricy. It’s a deceptive costume that looks v. simple but isn’t in execution. I was also striving for as close to absolute screen accuracy as possible - I think
I got pretty close, though my shirt needs alts. I’m a person who tends to go all in and throw money at things I care about, and Hera was a serious passion project.

Hera smile. The kanera scene of the trailer S4 is not necessary sad... Remenber, Dave Filoni said SRW is about hope and there are other good Force's users, not just the Jedi. Jedi are not the balance but Ezra and Kanan are.

I forgot who said it, either Pablo or Filoni, but he said: “Balance does not mean Sith destroying the Jedi or Jedi vanquishing the Sith. It’s .. beyond that.”

Now cross-ref this with these lines (in no particular order):

  • We win by surviving
  • I have been seeing things in a new way
  • We are the balance
  • Such is the way of Nature
  • Sometimes I wonder if I have anything left to teach you … That can’t be true … I mean about Life, about being a good person
  • And now there’s no Jedi Order to protect [young Force sensitives] … Okay, I guess that task falls to us now.
