Just a warning for those who aren’t aware: the porn bots on here are becoming out of hand, and are now starting to reblog people’s selfies and are actually adding sketchy links along with sexual captions. I think, until this problem is fixed (let’s hope it will be), it’s probably wise you don’t post any selfies if you don’t want your face being on a porn blog, especially if you’re a minor. Take care!

When we talk about being fat-positive and we say, “weight is not an indication of health,” I will reblog it. But I want us to also say, “health is not an indication of value.”

I could be at any weight and I will never be healthy, because I am chronically ill. Someone might be chronically ill and fat, or they might be chronically ill and not fat, and it really doesn’t matter.

When you make it about health, you’re saying health is the pinnacle of human achievement, and you’re shitting on those of us for whom health will always be a pipe dream.

Recognize the Armenian Genocide

On April 24, 1915, Ottoman Turkey began the annihilation of the Armenian people, killing 1.5 million Armenians, and creating the first genocide of the 20th century. Turkey has attempted to keep this genocide forgotten, however, the blood that runs in the veins of the descendants of the survivors has not allowed that to happen. While some countries have recognized it as a genocide, we still have struggled to obtain complete worldwide recognition. The Turkish government continues not to take blame for what their forefather have done. They deny any and all of those actions, despite the outstanding amount of evidence.

Tumblr, what I ask you today is to please reblog this to educate your followers, so that they may pass it on as well. Within this month, do something small. Maybe, post something on your social media having to do with the genocide, so that the people you know may be educated and pass the word on. If you are really wanting to get involved, there will be marches all over the world to get recognition. I know this is a website full of people who stand for activism. Please, help educate the world on this matter. It would mean a lot to me, who lost ancestors during that time, and other Armenians who share the same story. Thank you.

all right, folks—as promised, here are my thoughts on russian homophobia and what factors have shaped it to be how it appears today. please keep in mind that while i did put in hours of research into this and speak partially from experience as someone who grew up in a homophobic russian household, i am by no means an expert and for brevity had to simplify some issues/concepts.

to begin with, russia wasn’t always so violently homophobic. the russian empire was generally more or less tolerant as far as persecution goes until peter the great began to westernize and discovered that the west was generally opposed to same-sex relations. even then, the crackdowns were fairly mild, and the government generally stayed out of such matters. even towards the end of the 1800s, the tolerant attitude prevailed, and alexander ii’s reforms actually spurred the development of a lgbt+ by promoting freedom of press and abolishing serfdom, which created an influx of peasants to the cities, where they lived in close quarters and without many women around. as you can imagine, this resulted in a rise in same-gender relations and even marked the beginning of the first urban lgbt+ communities. while homosexuality was still illegal, cities teemed with discourse on the matter, which was potential enough. (this period can also be noted for the emergence of lgb+ writers and artists, such as mihkail kuzmin, marina tsvatayeva, and numerous others [but that’s for another post])

at this point, most of the opposition to same-sex relations stemmed from orthodox christian values, which marked homosexuality as sin (along with many other carnal sexual acts) and biological arguments that used early endocrinology and psychology to argue that homosexuality was unnatural and must be treated. however, it is vital to note that at the same time, some scientific circles also promoted tolerance on the basis of same-sex attraction being a natural variation of human biology, which was incredibly progressive for its time. while not all views were positive (in fact, some actively pathologized homosexuality, much like western science), it is important to note that there was discussion.

the first shift came with the 1917 revolution and lenin’s regime. while lenin decriminalized homosexuality (as well as many other things, such as abortion and prostitution), the regime also limited freedom of the press and speech, which stunted conversation about same-sex desire.

what truly demolished the russian/soviet lgbt+ community was stalin’s regime, which coincided with wwii and rise of fascism. in response to wwii, a wave of hypermasculinity and patriotism shook the nation through propaganda to encourage men to be strong, hard working, and loyal to the country—male homosexuality, which was seen as effeminate and weak, had no place in such a society. what officially led to the recriminalization, however, is the alleged nazi infiltration of moscow’s gay circles, which led stalin to pass a law banning male homosexuality. by this time, homosexuality came to be associated with bourgeois decadence and aristocracy, which clashed with soviet proletarian values. weimar germany’s infamous tolerance of same-sex relations also influenced the association of fascism with homosexuality (nevermind that hitler’s regime was violently homophobic, as well). a popular slogan was: “destroy the homosexuals–and fascism will disappear”

stalin’s strict repression had the most profound influence on the lgbt+ community—it erased its history by silencing literature and arts and prevented lgbt+ people from being able to find each other and create opposition. this lasted for decades after stalin’s death, which, to the average public, made same-sex attraction and gender nonconformity apprear nonexistent within the soviet union.

that is exactly why the 80s and 90s, when gorbachev’s reforms allowed lgbt+ individuals some freedom to gather and converse (thus gaining visibility) came as such a shock to the straight russian public. it seemed that “the gays” appeared out of nowhere—and since the period is also marked by the fall of the soviet union and introduction of western capitalism—seemed a product of western infiltration. since the west, especially america, had a visible lgbt+ community by then, it only seemed logical that lgbt+ russians are brainwashed by the west. another wave of hypermasculinity spread through the country once the soviet union collapsed, leaving the nation in crisis. all these reasons, in addition to the old religious and biological arguments, played a role in cultivating the very specific strain of homophobia in russia today.

because of this association with the west, it is incredibly difficult for activists to achieve anything, and in some circles even prompts discussion of whether it is truly worthwhile and beneficial. a quote by a russian lesbian haunts me in particular: “the problems for lesbians only start when they fight for their rights. because now the russian public knows the word. they know that lesbians exist.”

violence, financial insecurity, and psychological damage awaits anyone who is outwardly gay or associates with lgbt+ organizations, which makes it hard to gather collective action. funding for organizations is also low; if you lose your job because you’re lgbt+, it’s unlikely that you’ll have money to contribute to organizations. for many people, the costs of associating with an lgbt+ organizations outweigh the benefits.

that is why financial support rather than demonstration and protest is potentially more important to russian activist efforts. western demonstrations, such as those following the sochi olympics, only further solidified the connection of homosexuality and the west and made russia retaliate further against lgbt+ people. if you want to help, i think the best thing to do is stay informed, spread awareness, and contribute financially if you are able to. local efforts, such as those by the russian lgbt network, are in many cases better able to provide the specific aid that is required (for example, by evacuating gay men at risk in chechnya, or by assisting with legal issues).

only by understanding russia’s complex history and unique political and social climate can we cater our activism to be effective at helping lgbt+ russians.

Romance, Representation And You

So the last post I reblogged got some interesting comments I want to touch on, namely people stating that they don’t dislike Romance because it’s fluffy and feel good, but because it is often sexist, misogynistic, ableist, heteronormative and woefully lacking in diversity, which yes, absolutely, yes. Those are entirely valid criticisms of the genre—indeed I find them to be valid of any genre, whether it’s sci-fi, fantasy, young adult or otherwise. There is a shocking lack of diversity in our fiction and media—and not because people don’t want it or aren’t trying to make it, but because publishing houses and media can’t see the co-relation between what their marketing teams are telling them, and the actual reality that of course straight white stories are selling the best, of course it is, because you won’t sell anything else, that’s why there’s no sales numbers for anything else.

I worked in a romance publishing house for a good few years, I also worked for their erotica team, and do you know, not once did I ever come across a manuscript with a disabled person? Not a single one. There was also never a manuscript that featured a character with mental illness who wasn’t the villain, or whose issues couldn’t be Fixed With Love™(*vomit*).

The few times a story featured non white characters, it was usually “The Best Friend Who Gives Sassy Real Advice”, or so horrifically racist that our modus operandi was to nuke it from the office servers rather than try and deal with it because how do you politely tell an author, hey, you’re a fetishistic piece of shit please find God and change the entirety of your story so we can print it, (Answer: you don’t there is no polite way to tell someone they are a  fetishistic piece of shit and you never want their work to darken your inbox ever again.) when you can instead say “Sorry, not what we’re looking for a the moment” and retreat to the relative safety of the slushpile where maybe, just maybe, a hidden gem awaits excavation.

And our publishing house prided itself on diversity because we had an LGBT section, and oh boy let me tell you I was so excited when I got moved over onto that side…only to realize, there’s no w/w fiction because “it doesn’t sell well” and 90% of the m/m fiction is being written by women for women and they fired the one gay author cause his work wasn’t “what was selling” and every bisexual character I ever encountered was either Actually Gay/Actually Straight, or surprise! The Evil Greedy Homewrecker who needs to pick a side, booo hiiiiss, grab your pitchforks and burn the witch.

And I remember, I remember looking to my senior editor who was also my friend at the time, a poly bisexual, mentally ill woman and saying “what the fuck Rebecca” (yes, her name was actually Becky) and she looked at me over our skype call and said “You want to keep your job? Deal with it.”

Because you see, Marketing reigns supreme, and Marketing doesn’t give a shit about people like you and me. It doesn’t care if the neurodivergent person wants to see people like them in fiction, it doesn’t care that people of color want to be more than just the friend/villain, they don’t care that there is more to LGBTQIA+ than the L and specifically the G, it doesn’t care if disabled people want to be represented as more than someone ele’s story arc prop. They don’t care they, don’t care, and do you know why so many publishing houses look down on indie publishing and self published authors and try to call them hacks? Because we don’t give a fuck that they don’t care and we’re doing what we want anyway.

Oh sure you get the usual “but the work is so unpolished, no one has vetted it, it’s just bad, this is why we need publishers to stop the crap from rising to the top”—and yet Fifty Shades of Grey still gets a multi-billion dollar production budget and to the top of the best seller list—do you see, where I am going with this? They’re not interested in selling the best they are just interested in selling, and we are living in a society that has a system designed specifically to a quite literally straight and narrow demographic. So of course XYZ stories sell well, of course they do, because that is where the vast majority of marketing goes, to make sure you buy into it. And Romance…Romance is a lucrative industry to be in if you can get the weight of that campaign behind you…but if you can’t? Well, not only do you have to compete with lack of funding and resources, but also the pervasive lie that because you’re not affiliated directly with X Publishing House or Y Agency, you are not good enough, and no one will want to read your story.

And that’s a bunch of baloney. It’s so much baloney you can slap it between two slices of bread and cover it in mustard because the whole thing is a ham.

Do you know what I would have loved growing up? (And still would) Stories about girls who liked people regardless of gender—and who wasn’t conflicted over it because people are people and gender is fluid and irrelevant to love. Stories about people with mental health issues, where the person is still loved and shown as functional, with their mental health issues, not despite. Stories about disabled and ill people who have fulfilling lives whose arc doesn’t revolve around being brave for simply existing or how much of a saint their families/loved ones are for putting up with them. And do you know what I get instead, even now as an adult who has worked in the industry that sells these stories? I get things like Fifty Shades of Domestic Abuse, and train wrecks like You Before Me where the death of the disabled person is seen as a romantic gesture of selflessness that sets the love interest free to fully live her life. HOW FUCKING FUCKED UP IS THAT. Oh you can argue with me all you want that wasn’t  Moyes intent when she was writing it, but it damn well was the end result.

Yes, Romance is lacking, and yes it needs revamped, it needs more cultural diversity, it needs more inclusion, it needs so many things—but it also needs for people to not want to not write for it because it’s “fluffy” and cheap, like somehow they are selling their souls away.

I’ve got friends who have written amazing, diverse stories told from their point of view…but they won’t ever get them published because as soon as you mention self publishing or the Romance industry they turn their noses up. And they’re shooting themselves in the foot in doing so, because there ain’t no way a story about XYZ is going to make it in a sci-fi house, no matter who much tech you add in. On the flipside of that, I’ve also got a friend who has written about her experiences as a Black queer disabled woman and it’s filled with relationships and great life stuff and so funny…but she can’t get it published anywhere because she’s been explicitly made to feel like she doesn’t belong in the genre because her stories are too complex, they’re too different they’re too comedic…too…too…too (the list goes on). And that’s awful because Romance is a genre that is primarily about people and if you as a Romance house are telling me you can’t sell a story about people, boy are we well and truly fucked.

The biggest criticism of the Romance genre shouldn’t be that it’s too damn happy and therefore unrealistic and nothing but fluff. What’s unrealistic is the complete lack of diversity and inclusion in the genre that makes it so alienating that a huge part of our society immediately feels like they don’t belong.

And that’s a bigger problem than fluff.

So great, yes fine, Romance isn’t for you, you can tell me all the time that you don’t like Romance and I will cheerfully talk to you about literally anything else. But don’t ever tell me you don’t like Romance because it’s simple and fluffy when there’s a whole wealth of actual problematic shit to dislike it for.

And to you, yes you, I’m talking to you. You with the idea in the back of your head and the worry that you’ll never be a Serious Author because all you want to write about is romance and people and angst and fluff and also thinking no one wants to read stories about people like you: take that idea and run with with it, learn from your experiences and keep doing it some more and maybe one day we’ll have the publishing industry we deserve that will acknowledge you. But until then: Rebel and Do It Anyway.

the purpose:

the roleplay community can be a nasty place at times, rumors spread and lies thrown about like they’re gospel. because of this, something must be done to counter such negativity. my goal ( as well as those that decide to participate ) is to make sure people know they aren’t alone. if you’re simply feeling down and need encouragement, or you’re truly struggling with life and need help, this campaign is for you. we’re a shoulder to cry on or just a friendly voice to keep your spirits lifted; whatever you need. within reason, of course, for though we may try, we cannot work miracles.

no one should feel left out, disliked, or unwanted, and the goal of the kindness campaign is to make sure none of that happens. you are loved and you are wanted, and very much so.

the plan:

if you wish to participate in this campaign, aka be a sender / messenger of positivity and love, REBLOG this post. it let’s people know that you are a safe haven. if you’re in a bad place or just want to hear kind words, be it about your writing or otherwise, LIKE this post. you will get at least one message, if not more, depending on who all is able to respond. and feel free to like this post more than once. what i mean by this is that if you’re ever feeling down / not yourself, like this post. if you feel that way again a day or a week or a month later, like this post again. someone will come to you and tell you just how amazing you are. i want to emphasize, however, that this is NOT a campaign meant to boost your ego. do not abuse what we will all be giving / contributing just so you can boast about it later. while we want everyone happy in any / every way, keep in mind the purpose of this campaign.

to recap: REBLOG to join ( and to spread the word to others ), LIKE for kind words.

let’s spread love and positivity to any and everyone we can. it’s the kindest thing we can do despite it seeming so small and insignificant. i promise you, just a few kind words can go a long way for the person receiving them. not only that, but those that will participate will know they are making a difference in someone’s world. we can make this a big thing if we really try, so spread the word!! let everyone know that they’re not alone and that they are loved! fight hate and negativity with love and positivity! and remember:

no war in anger was ever won.

This is sketchy as hell.

For people who see this post… why? Why would anyone like this?
This is a weird invasion of childhood moments that weren’t released by choice.

You don’t just get someone’s yearbook.
You either go to the school those years, or you hunt this down from someone else that has one.

Everyone wants to know whatever they can about Ryan’s past, but can we at least let him decide when he releases or okays pictures from his own childhood?
It’s exciting and fun to know more about someone!
This is not one of those times.

Leaving out the name of the school makes no difference.
It’s still creepy and weird.

“For the sake of his privacy”
If there was any care at all for his privacy this wouldn’t have been posted.
Especially not on a side account with no other posts than to reblog this same thing.

I blacked out the name just for the fact that they shouldn’t get more named recognition for this kind of negative digging.

If people out there care for Ryan’s actual privacy and life, please…
Please.
Give this post no notice when you go by it.
Don’t encourage this kind of hunting stalking behavior.

Ryan should mean more to this to any true fan who cares deeply for his well being and privacy of his life.
If he wanted it released, it’d be out on an Extra Life or a stream.

Fuck.

“jews don’t want us to call hux a nazi.”

I see a surprising amount of goyim (gentiles, non-Jewish people) saying this, and I don’t know who they’ve spoken to, but here are my thoughts.

It is absolutely okay for Jews to feel uncomfortable saying Hux is a Nazi. Nazis in real life are dangerous and harmful, and some feel it might be trivializing the word to use it on fictional characters who merely mirror Nazis.

This is why we call Hux a ‘Nazi parallel.’ Hux is meant to evoke Nazi imagery and ideas, and that’s a fact that is true regardless of comfort level with the terms “Nazi” or “Space Nazi” or whatever else.

Personally, I used to be very uncomfortable with just calling Hux a Nazi. I was also worried about trivializing the word, and I still think people with that concern have a legitimate point.

However, I’ve seen people twist the words I said way back when we were talking about this issue to say that Jews just can’t stand us saying Hux is a Nazi– He’s just a fascist! He’s just your average villain! He’s just a child who was abused and deserves pity (?!?).

That’s why I now just call Hux a Nazi outright. I don’t mind if people are uncomfortable with that or like to call him something else– I’d definitely recommend gentiles say “Nazi parallel” over “Space Nazi”, especially if they’re uncomfortable with just calling him a Nazi.

Hux is a Nazi parallel. This is the truth, and this is not what is going to hurt Jews. You do not have to use the word “Nazi” on its own if you would rather not, and you don’t have to use that word anywhere near Hux if you don’t want to– but you have to acknowledge reality.

Please stop responding to criticisms of fandom’s anti-Semitism and increasing ability to humanize/romanticize Nazi parallels with “but Jews don’t want us to call him a Nazi!”

Yes, some Jews don’t want you to call Hux a Nazi. Those Jews have a great point and I have no problem with that. But Hux is still a Nazi parallel, and no amount of semantics discourse is going to change that.

I highly recommend reblogging this post if you’re in the SW fandom, Jewish or gentile. It’s very important to any discussion of Hux’s character, and I’m tired of the same old excuses getting in the way.

Hey, guess what! To thank you guys for 4K, I’m hosting an art raffle! To those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically me entering the names of everyone who reblogs this into a generator and the first three get some art!

Here’s how you enter:
-reblog ONCE, if you reblog this more than once I most likely won’t enter your username. This is solely because I don’t want to make this process longer than it needs to be.
-tag as fcg4k

Guidelines:
-The winners will be announced by April 10. After April 10, I won’t enter any more usernames into the generator or hat or whatever I’m going to use.
-I won’t accept anything NSFW or graphic, nothing illegal (pedophilia, necrophilia/bestiality, you get the gist).
-If you win and you request an OC or character I don’t know, I’m gonna need a reference sheet or detailed description of the character or subject of the drawing.
-Furries or kin art is also fine.

Thanks again for 4K, and if you have any questions feel free to ask me or send something into my inbox. If you do have questions, please try to ask me through my inbox instead of messaging me privately, as others may share the same question. Thank you! :)

Hello everyone! My name is Ezra, I’m a disabled, neurodiverse qtpoc, and I need your help! My family has an incredibly low income, and now with the welfare cuts, it is increasingly difficult to stay afloat. My mother can’t work because of disability, and the only place that would hire me with mine, I can’t start work at until September.

I currently am trying to get my cosmetology licence as well with a college credit program associated with my school. This, however, is an incredibly expensive thing to do.This is where you come in! I do commissions, I sell jewelry, stim toys, zines, and now clothing!

Whether you buy one or just reblog, please, do not just like this. That does me no help whatsoever. If only one or two people buys this, it won’t let them ship, so the money will be refunded and I won’t get any of the payment. The source I am selling from requires a minimum of five purchases to sell. Please, please help me. If you want to commission me or buy something else, please shoot me an ask or message.

Hey, I’m selling some furry adopts! I’ll be putting some slime adopts up tomorrow or so hopefully as well, so please keep an eye out for those!

Tigers will be $20, Goat-bears $25. I’d be charging via paypal invoice through email. Reblog this post with which you want or reply to claim, they’re first come first serve! I’ll send you an ask requesting your email if you get it. This will also be on my FA.

dino-gummi  asked:

What's a squick?

First, thank you for asking. This is something I feel is important!

Second, to those who wonder where this question came from, a while back, I reblogged this, and added the comment about squicks not being the same as triggers.

So what, you ask, is a squick?

A squick is an old fandom term for something that makes you supremely uncomfortable and you absolutely do not want to read it. It can be a trope, a ship, a concept, or just an event that happens within a fic or in canon. For me, abused animals are a definite squick. I don’t like it, and will generally avoid reading any graphic descriptions of such. (That includes tumblr gif sets and such too, people! Tag that shit, will you? Even if it has a happy ending.) Another deep, deep squick of mine is infant age play. Don’t like it, don’t get it, don’t want to think about it.

Now, neither of these things are dangerous to my mental or emotional state. I have never experienced either in my life, and they do not bring about any sort of PTSD, dissociation, or spiral of depression, anxiety, etc. They are simply things I prefer not to think about in my daily life, or read about in my escapist hobbies. Therefore, they are not triggers. Triggers are very real, very bad things for some people, and to label things we choose not to read because we find it disturbing or gross or weird is to diminish the very real danger of actual triggers.

I love the term squick. It perfectly describes the concept without assigning any negativity to the thing you dislike, or to people who do like the thing you dislike. It is something you personally do not care for and wish to avoid, simple as that.

Dear New Simblrs....

The simblr community can be a scary place and with a lot drama and negativity. I have seen people post about not feeling included and having difficulty fitting in and it upsets me as there is a large part of this community that are awesome. But joining here is like switching highschool halfway through the semester. You are the obvious newbie and that’s super difficult. So here are some tips:

What To Do

  1. Start building up your simblr! We want to know who you are, what your style is! Post pictures of your sims :)
  2. Start commenting! Liking posts is cool, but comments are what makes people notice you. Just say something nice, make other simmers recognize your name as someone who leaves sweet messages.
  3. Find simblrs you like and follow them! I find it better to follow less people but give those more attention. Trying to be everyone’s best friend is difficult.
  4. Send those simblrs a message! Most people have open IMs and just saying “hey I love your sims!” is a great way to start a conversation
  5. Be personal! It means a lot more if you tell people you love a certain sim by name, or mention something about them you saw in a post. It shows others you actually really look at their stuff ;)
  6. Join in! There are so many RP groups out there, groupme chats you can join in to meet new people.
  7. Pixel Buddies! This page will find you another simblr who will look after you and pull you into the community!
  8. Collab! People often love to collab. Just ask someone in IM but try to be humble about it and maybe get to know them a bit more before you ask.
  9. Use the search tool! add “/search/*” at the end of any tumblr to search for stuff. Maybe search “collab” if you want to know who they collab with. Or just read their answered asks to find out what that simmer is like.
  10. Don’t be afraid! We actually don’t bite ;) We love meeting new people! And asking for help is always okay!

What NOT To Do

  1. Endlessly reblog other people’s posts. This takes away from your own simblr and makes you look more like you are trying to get friends.
  2. Count your followers. Sure it is awesome to have a lot of them, but they come naturally while you develop your page. Really important are those people you become friends with.
  3. Sit in the corner and do nothing. If we don’t know you are have never heard of your simblr, it’s going to be hard for us to integrate you. So just keep posting and commenting so we know who you are!
  4. Complain publically ;) We might have a lot of drama here, but most of us don’t like it. Posts bringing up issues, saying the community isn’t nice etc makes people back away.
  5. Want. Getting asks like “can I have your sim” etc is a bit too forward when you don’ know someone. Just talk to someone first or maybe start your ask off telling them how much you like their simblr and that you have seen they share sims and you were wondering if maybe they might share with you. How you say it is everything!
  6. Get caught up in Drama. First impressions do count. So try to keep a profile as someone who just sims and is friendly.
  7. Do take simblr too seriously. There is no prize to be won and in the end, real-life is still more important!

It really is like highschool a bit here, so keep that in mind. I started out here with very little friends but just by IMing people, leaving nice comments and helping where I can I have met so many awesome new people. The first instinct is either to hide in the corner and hope someone will find you, are to try and suck up to simblrs you think are well-known. Neither really work. Some things take time and require some effort. This advice is my personal advice, that I have taken from my own experiences and those from newer simblrs I have seen thrive over the last months. I hope this can help some!

As Rogue One has finally been released and everyone is drowning in feelings, we’d like to use the week of April 10th to April 16th to finally host a RebelCaptain Appreciation Week, dedicated to celebrating our favorite tragic power duo: Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor.

We are launching this appreciation week in collaboration with the amazing @rebelcaptainprompts, who graciously created all the writing prompts you see below, and who will be an additional source of promotion for works.

Schedule:

  • Day One: Favorite Scene(s) || Writing Prompt: Family
  • Day Two: Song Day || Writing Prompt: Comfort
  • Day Three: Tropes || Writing Prompt: Undercover
  • Day Four: AU of your choice || Writing Prompt: Nerve
  • Day Five: Quote Day || Writing Prompt: Home
  • Day Six: Diego Luna and Felicity Jones Appreciation || Writing Prompt: Hope
  • Day Seven: Free day || Bonus prompt: Future

We know that this is a bit short notice, so we will be having a MAKEUP WEEKEND: April 22nd-April 23rd. If you’re unable to participate during this time or miss one of the days, please post your works during that weekend so that we can reblog them.

Please use this week to celebrate Jyn and Cassian in any way you want to, whether it’s making gifs, graphics, mixes or fanvids, writing fic or meta, creating fanart, etc. Also, because we know that appreciation weeks sometimes skew towards visual work, we included a second writing prompt (thanks again to @rebelcaptainprompts for them) to help get those creative juices flowing.

Don’t feel limited by the intention of the prompt - if you’d like to write meta about your favorite scenes, or make a gifset about ‘comfort’, go ahead! Feel free to fill both prompts on each day. Feel free to complete a prompt for both Jyn and Cassian! The point is to create as much positive Jyn x Cassian related material as possible.

How it will work:

  • Please tag your posts with #rebelcaptainweek in one of the first five tags so we can see it
  • If you’d like extra assurance, you can tag #therebelcaptainnetwork or #rebelcaptainprompts (especially if you’re filling the second prompt) so we definitely see your post
  • @therebelcaptainnetwork will reblog ALL work
  • @rebelcaptainprompts will reblog ALL works that fulfill the writing prompts, whether it’s a written fanwork or not
  • To find works created for this week on our blogs, we will be tagging all reblogged works #rebelcaptain week, and specific days will be tagged #rc week: day [one]

Thanks for making it through to the end of the post :) Feel free to message us with any comments, questions or concerns. We hope you guys have a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing what wonderful things you will create!

So this happened a little while ago. Simply put: Holy crap.

This is insane you guys I’m so humbled and baffled and grateful you’re all here, this is a huge number for me. I appreciate you all so much, those of you who have just followed me and those of you who have been here for months, years. Each like, reblog, comment, ask, anything from any of you makes my day. I just ahh jfc I love you all hgfkhgkdf. Thank you.

So here’s a little thing for y’all, with some hopefully interesting prizes to go with it, namely art! :’)

The rules are pretty simple and straightforward:

1. This is for my followers, so you must be following me in order to have a chance of winning. When I pick the winners, I will check this. Though that doesn’t mean you can’t reblog it anyway if for some reason you want to do that hah. :’D New followers can enter too, of course, and are very welcome!

2. Enter by reblogging/liking this post. Reblogs and likes both count and you can reblog as many times as you want!

3. Please make sure you are able to be reached on tumblr via either the messeage system or your ask box. That’s how I will be notifying each winner they have won. If I don’t get a response/confirmation that you have recieved the messeage within 48 hours, I’ll choose another winner, so please make sure to check your inboxes around the deadline date!

(Check out my art tag “sanguithart” for some more examples of art on my blog if you like, there are only two example pictures here after all.)

I’ll be picking out the three winners randomly via a random numbers generator one by one (first place first, second and third after that etc).

The deadline is Saturday 20th of May! Good luck and thank you so much again<3
