ECW World Heavyweight Championship: 2 Cold Scorpio (w/ Jazz) Vs. Mike Awesome (Champion, w/ Judge Jeff Jones) ECW on TNN [December 2nd, 1999]
Mike Awesome is a wrestling promoter’s wet dream, and for ECW head booker Paul Heyman, was the perfect selection to lead the company. In this match that could have been disastrous and had the means of exposing Awesome if he couldn’t hang, fans were wowed at the fact that Awesome proved that he most certainly could against one of ECW’s finest competitors. 2 Cold Scorpio battling for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship had the ECW faithful foaming at the mouth in anticipation of how the match would end and whether or not they’d see the reigning champion dethroned. The closing moments of this match will keep you on the edge of your seat and, if you weren’t already, will make you a fan of both athletes!

Today the Umihara Kawase games returned to Steam after having been taken down after Agatsuma Entertaiment closed its doors in 2015. As such, I figured there was no better way to celebrate on this blog than to look at how the encounters with Tadpole has evolved over the years.
Tomorrow! (January 24th!) Jimmy Alvarez from the TNN Radio show will be conducting live chats in studio with Pepper and Hooray for Our Side (us!) on tomorrow’s program! Tune in from 2PM-4PM PST on KX 93.5 FM Laguna Beach, or stream online at kx935.com!
Abelouache impresses for Al Nasr Pro Cycling Team Dubai
Waiting game proves fruitful for young Moroccan
After Soufiane Haddi’s success with the SkyDive Dubai Team, it was the newly unveiled Al Nasr Pro Cycling Team’s turn to make a mark for the hosts at the ongoing Dubai Tour.
The team formed to give more exposure to the Emirati riders and tasted success with their Moroccan recruit Essaid Abelouache in the third stage on Friday.
Abelouache’s major achievement at the world stage until now was participation in the 2014 UCI Road World Championships, but yesterday he stole the limelight with two intermediate sprint wins.
The 27-year-old, at the 87.1km intermediate sprint at Al Madam, outsmarted Hayden McCormick (ONE), Feng Chun Kai (LAM) and David Riba Lozano (TNN). And then after enjoying a lead of 1 minute 53 seconds over the chasing pack, went on to clinch the second intermediate sprint at Al Malaiha after 109.8 km - after playing a good waiting game.
“It is a good start for a new team. This result will give us motivation to give more support to the team. We had participated in the Dubai Tour not for result but for participation. However, the result shows that we have done some good signings,” said Al Nasr board member Abdul Rahman Abu Shawareb, adding, “We would like to thank Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance for supporting us to build a strong team.
Meanwhile, Haddi also continued to hold on to the best young rider’s white jersey which he has held on to from stage one.
