Alternate meaning to Tendershipping

Something my mind had been wandering to lately -

Tendershipping: Yami no Bakura x Ryou Bakura - named because Bakura would need to be tender with Ryou for the relationship to work

… is the definition we have had for a few years now. It’s not been questioned - it just is. And what an awful definition it is! So OOC, leads to awful fanfic and fanon in general, but how could it be anything else?

Allow me to introduce you to an alternate (or perhaps the proper and forgotten?) interpretation.

ten·der 2

n.1. A formal offer, as: a. Law An offer of money or service in payment of an obligation. b. A written offer to contract goods or services at a specified cost or rate; a bid. 2. Something, especially money, offered in payment.

This is what I propose: Tendershipping: Yami no Bakura x Ryou Bakura - named for the offer/so-called contract of ‘paying rent’ Yami no Bakura first made to Ryou as his new host. Tada ~ now that is much more palatable, don’t you agree?
