If you haven’t seen this video, it is quite remarkable. Down 8 points with 42 seconds left against the San Antonio Spurs, Tracy McGrady scored 13 points in 33 seconds, and the Rockets won.
This is, unfortunately and unquestionably, the high water mark for McGrady’s injury-filled career. You can tell a lot about a guy by his NBA Career Top 10 Plays video, and McGrady’s has a bunch of one-handed dunks and an All-Star Game clip (of him dunking).
Listen, I’m just asking a question… There’s a lot of hot, 30-second, promotional television spots filling the airwaves these days, but none hotter than this. I saw water-borne holograms at Melo’s NIKE launch party, followed by the Jordan Brand trio taking their games from the NOLA to the Jewish Rec Leagues in New York.
Those are cute, but gimme a call when an arctic swat team and special forces unit tries to take down another NBA superstar. Until then I’ll be dreaming about Tracy McGrady’s healthy back. Do you guys remember Tracy McGrady? People called him T-Mac.
Adidas could make a TV show out of this, and I’d watch it.
