tipo 151

One of the most interesting entrants in the Graham Hill Trophy at the members’ meeting was this strange but beautiful Maserati. I initially thought it was a custom bodied car, but after some scratching around I found it was a factory effort, the successor to the famous Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’. It was designed by Pierre Drogo, so any similarities with the Ferrari 250 GT ‘Breadvan’ (especially the aerodynamic ‘Kamm tail’ rear) are not co-incidental.
