It’s early in the morning and nobody will probably read this but I just had the greatest ‘humans are space orcs’ idea
Imagine if humans are the only species that experiences impatience.
Think about it. Most prey animals are extremely patient. Ever meet a deer or a rabbit in the woods and hold still to try and out-wait the thing? I can guarantee your brain starts sending bored bored bored messages very quickly, and your instincts start telling you to give up and find something else to do. Humans can do the patience thing- as evidenced by our endurance hunting methods- but our instincts tell us not to. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this feels like a predator development. I have the idea that if aliens are mostly prey-based, and we’re predator-based, then the aliens will be very patient and we just aren’t.
As an evolutionary development, being impatient can be brilliant. It means that we didn’t sit around and wait for the ice caps to warm up, we knew we didn’t have the technology to survive that level of cold, but we did it anyways. We were trying to send people into the sky and then into space before we had fully figured it all out, simply because we didn’t want to wait and think it out, we wanted SPACE and we wanted it NOW. And personally, I tend to be extremely productive and inventive when I’m feeling impatient. Mechanic is booked for a few days? I’ll figure out how to change my oil and tires and tint my car’s windows myself. Strawberry season is still 4 months away? I’ll get a heat lamp setup and grow them myself. Friends can’t visit and help move furniture for a week? I’ll build a trolley out of some toy cars, tape, a chessboard, and do all the lifting myself.
This impatience is what made us design faster cars, faster computers, faster internet, faster communication, methods of growing food faster, of processing food faster, we’re always looking for the quickest and most efficient thing simply because we are not patient.
Impatience leads to a type of creativity and persistence that patience just doesn’t have.
Imagine aliens starting to realize this.
“You got to your moon before you had developed LED screens??? You didn’t even have computers that could do basic math?!” “Well, what else were we gonna do, sit around and wait?”
“Your planes don’t have gravitational control? Don’t you experience discomfort from the acceleration and directional changes?” “Sure. But we needed to get on the other side of the planet in a decent amount of time.” “So… what you’re articulating is that you’d rather have physical distress than have to have a long journey?” “Yeah, pretty much.”
“Human____, our mechanical teams will be on site in several of your earth hours, so we won’t be going anywhere until then.” “Screw that. Where’s the manual for this thing? I bet I can fix it.” “But you don’t have any mechanical training.” “I also don’t feel like sitting around on this rock for ages.”
“You’re back already? I thought your medical representative told you to not be walking on that limb for another of your weeks.” “Ugh. I just can’t anymore. I’ve got to get up and move and do something, anything.” “But doesn’t that hurt to walk on?” “Absolutely.” “…You would choose pain over waiting?” “What can I say, I’m not a patient person.”
Like aliens just being baffled that humans would rather work hard or struggle with a problem or even experience pain and discomfort. They, as prey species, are used to just waiting it out. They don’t have the same impatience driving them to get up and go and to fight through things just because they can’t wait any longer.
Bonus: Human: Ain’t nobody got time for that! Alien: Why don’t you have time? Is something scheduled soon? Human: No, I just don’t feel like wasting time. Alien: But… it’s not wasted. It’s time well spent. And you do technically have the time to spare for that. If there’s nothing scheduled, then you do ‘got time for that’. Human: No. No, I don’t. It’s just… no.
I lived in a very ghetto apartment complex for a while. While there I
was working grave yard shift, and there was a car that would come at
5:30am on week days to pick up SOMEONE and they would lay on the horn
for at least 20 minutes. They would never get out of the car, they would
just lay on the damned horn.
I did ask them politely, once, to stop, to go knock, I work grave
yard and would like to sleep. I basically got told to fuck off. Ok,
you’ve asked for it.
He was driving a VERY pimped out Cadillac. Maroon in color, tinted
windows, gold rims, large white wall tires, etc. Obv very proud of his
ride. I waited a month, so it wouldn’t be obvious it was me, then I
borrowed a paint ball gun from a guy at work. I took the screen off my
window facing where he always parks, and waited for the next morning.
When he started laying on his horn I sprayed his car with neon orange
paint. He stopped laying on his horn after that. I think I made my
“There’s no need to worry,” he said as you smoothed your hands over his tie, straightening it out for him nervously, “I’ll call you when I get to the airport, when I land, when I get to the hotel, when I–
“Okay babe you don’t have to go that far,” you sighed as you looked up at him, cupping your palm against his cheek.
“If it makes you feel better I will though, that’s not a problem.”
“No, it’s okay. I know it will be alright. You’ll leave and come home, just like all the other times,” you assured, not wanting to make his leave any more stressful for him than it needed to be. He went on over a dozen business trips a year and this one was no different than any of the others, but you couldn’t help the anxiety in your stomach, a terrible feeling that had overtaken you since the moment you had woken up. He looked down at you thoughtfully, leaning down to place a soft kiss against your lips.
“I’ll call you when I land,” he promised as he picked up his bag, grabbing the breakfast you packed him before leaning in to steal another kiss, caught in the middle as Jungkook walked in.
“Awww I’m a sucker for this sweet shit,” he said as you broke apart, eyeing you with an amused expression. You rolled your eyes as you handed him a coffee, having already expected him to come.
You walked them to the door with your fingers intertwined with Taehyung’s, his thumb rubbing small circles into your palm as he felt the dread leaking off of you, hoping to get you to calm down in anyway he could.
Everything’s going to be okay, everything’s going to be okay, you’re just being paranoid.
He whispered an ‘I love you’ before pressing his lips against your ring, his eyes lighting up as he looked down at it, recalling the moment he had gotten it on your finger.
“Have a safe trip guys,” you yelled after them as you stood in the doorway, watching them as the driver loaded their luggage into the car. “Bring him back in one piece for me please!”
“I’ll keep him safe, I promise!” Jungkook yelled back with one last wave, disappearing behind the tinted windows. You closed the door as you watched them drive away, determined not to let your irrational feelings take over your mind, knowing that when he came back everything would go back to being as perfect as it once was.
“Why does she seem so worried? Did you tell her where we were going?” Jungkook asked as he rested against the leather seats, eyeing Taehyung curiously. He had swore he would never tell her anything that had to do with his line of work but he was also the type to change his mind–a dangerous characteristic to have, at least for their job.
Taehyung sighed, opening the window as he lit a cigarette, throwing him a smirk.
The first of my installments for this series. I struggled with this one a bit because writing sad Harry is NOT fun, but, I think it played out alright. I hope you all enjoy! x
You can find the masterlist for the Divide Series, here!
He promises himself that it’ll only be a quick look, a brisk moment to catch a fleeting glimpse of you to reassure himself that he had made the right decision. That you were indeed- happier.
He reckons that his current predicament makes him look like a proper stalker, laying low against the seat of his car with his hoodie pulled up around his head. He’s pushed the pair of sunglasses that usually serve as a makeshift headband onto his face, and his lips are in a tight pressed line. He’s parked and turned the car off long ago, and it’s starting to get chilly. His fingers drum nervously against the steering wheel, cold metal of his rings making small thumping sounds against it. His eyes pull away from across the street to glance down at his phone, ignoring the growing list of notifications to glance at the time. 5 minutes.
He’s hoping to god, for once, that there aren’t any nosy camera lenses hidden across the street or in some odd crevice because shots of this in the tabloids would not only be hard to explain, but embarrassing for you too. He’d dated you for so long that the public was well aware of who you were and where you worked. He’s kept his head low, though, and with the lack of his driver and the shield of tinted windows- he hopes it’ll be enough.
3 minutes now. He twists the ring on his index finger nervously, licking his lips and glancing at the door to the building that his car has stood in front of so many times. He thinks, reflectively, that he could’ve asked Gem how you were doing. His brows furrow together at the thought of his older sister giving him that all knowing look, the one where she makes an indignant noise at him and calls him a martyr under her breath. He can practically imagine her ignorance of his simple question and her storm of counter ones, all stemming from the same basic thought, of course. Why on earth did he you let her go in the first place?
To which he would have to give a plethora of mumbles to defend why he made the decision he did. It was something he was far too exhausted to even think about, and he shakes his head at the idea of delving into it before glancing out the window again. He jolts up straighter in his seat and squints through the window, pulling his glasses off and staring. You’ve got your bag clutched to your side and your other hand is shading your eyes. You’re leaning up onto the tips of your toes and rocking back down to balls of your feet as you glance up and down the street expectantly.
Harry swallows harshly, curious eyes taking you in. You’re wearing one of his favorite work outfits on you, but somehow you look different. He hasn’t seen you in sometime, a few months now, and he wonders if his eyes ever did you the justice you deserve. You’re beautiful, and perhaps it’s the passing of time that is throwing him off but he swears- he’s never seen anything more angelic. The sun is out in London today, peeking out to say a dutiful hello to the city and its dwellers. He watches as you tip your head back slightly, letting the sun shine onto your face with closed eyes and a appreciative smile. It sends his heart thumping into overdrive, it’s what he wanted- the purpose of this expedition fulfilled. To see just a glimpse of your radiant smile that he’s missed so much. He sighs, grabbing the key in the ignition and giving it a twist. He buckles up and glances back once more at you, but this time you’re not alone.
Jungkook- the obliviously popular University guy. The hot, charming, sweet and shy boy with great hair.
The kind, honest Jungkook.
Well, I guess that was the first lie.
The first of 15.

“Come on, guys. Do you realize how pathetic you sound? You’re literally one of tens, maybe hundreds, of people who are falling all over this guy.” You scoff and stuff another spoon of yogurt into your mouth.
“Oh, please, Y/N!” One of your friends, Kylie, the most logical of them all, pipes up. “Like you wouldn’t drop your panties the second his fingers grazed your shoulder.”
You laugh again and shake your head at the group of girls sitting around the lawn outside the school. Seriously, of all these high school girls, you thought you had befriended the few that weren’t in love with Jungkook.

A/N: I cannot believe I am finally writing this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for embracing this story. Thank you for giving me the confidence for stepping outside of my comfort zone as a writer. I was extremely nervous to write a vamp au but you all welcomed this story with open arms. Thank you for loving vamp Hoseok and the OC as much as I have
The pain raging through your body was nothing like you ever felt. The feeling of your teeth coming in that very first time was child’s play compared to this. You tried to stand on your feet, but the searing pain of Hoseok’s torture made you crumple back down to the ground. A pair of hands pulled you up from the grass, and brought you back inside the cabin. This was the worst nightmare you had ever experienced, except you would never wake up from this one.
Someone held a pint of blood to you lips, forcing you to drink until the plastic bag was empty. He sank down onto his knees, but through your blurred vision it was impossible to see his face. But he smelled familiar. “Y/N?” he asked cautiously, and you blinked several times until the red haired vampire came into focus.
“What the hell are you doing here?” you hissed, as you came face to face with one of Kai’s right hand men. “I thought I killed you.”
Chanyeol laughed, “You tried, but Kai was able to pull me out of the boathouse.”
“Chanyeol is on our side, Y/N. You didn’t think that Jimin was the only vampire we had on the inside, did you?. You can put your claws away.” Namjoon informed you as he came trudging through the room followed by the others. All in various stages of the healing process.
“How can I trust him?” you hissed, still unable to accept the redheaded vampire’s presence in the cabin.
The tall vampire looked you straight in your dead eyes, “Because you can’t. I could really care less what happens to you, I just want that asshole dead.”
A chill spread across your spine as he repeated the words you had heard several times over. The two of you stared at each other, enemies fighting for the same cause. You pursed your lips into a thin line as you started to pace the kitchen, “Fine. Tell me what your big plans are.”
Namjoon nodded at the empty chair at the table, “I think you should sit down for this.”
Prompt: “Wait where is my homework?” “You did your homework?” “…” “Oh, yeah, right. I didn’t!”
Note:- This is my first, ever, try at writing Jughead, so, forgive me if I suck at this. I left the ending open for a possible second part, depending on if I am good at this and I get a good response, then I’ll write the second part. - Ro
You didn’t quite remember how the hanging out started, it sort of, just happened. No words were exchanged the first few times, it was comfortable silence and that’s really what you both like about one another; the silence. The easy and relaxing silence. The no need for useless conversation or forced interactions. He would be immersed in his writing, fingers typing quickly, and skillfully on the keyboard. Writing his inner thoughts and the town’s deepest secrets. You would be reading or drawing, little doodles of random things.
That’s why Jughead likes you. He doesn’t have to interact in order to be around you, he doesn’t have to speak or really listen, he just has to be there and you’re happy. It makes writing his novel easier, he doesn’t have to stop and talk or answer questions; he can just write and get on with it. That’s thing, though, he doesn’t have to, but then sometimes he wants to. Lately, he has started up conversations, it’s never normally lengthy or immersive but it’s little chats.
He’d ask about your drawings, mostly. You seemed more comfortable talking about your art than yourself, he noticed how twitchy you got when the topic of home or family was brought up, how you would smoothly transition to something else. After a few attempts, he eventually stopped asking, knowing how he’d hate it if someone kept pushing him on his predicament with “home” and “family”.
When you talked about your drawings, sketches and sometimes watercolours, you were a different person. The normal, reserved, shy and slightly weird girl was replaced with this passionate, smiley and confident girl. You carried a small sketchbook with you, everywhere, it was to jot down any muse you suddenly got. You never let anyone see the sketchbook, Jug, had a few glimpses but that’s about it. Like, everyone else, he only had the pleasure of seeing your art when it was fully done and on canvas or parchment paper. He understood that perfectionist of his writing, he doesn’t like when people ask to look at his stuff when it’s not 100% proofed for it.
Of course, he laughed at the cliche you two. The writer and the painter, two artists, who have broken souls and view the world through a warped, tinted window. You showing your view through illustration, graceful paint or pencil strokes, capturing the world in a still. And him, through the art of words, his view laid out and written down in carefully, constructed sentences. Two people who create, who are outsiders due to their lack of social skills, and yet, have found redemption of this by socialising with one another.
He usually hated cliches but he overlooked this one, just this once.
So, here you both are in the corner booth, as usual, at Pop’s. Two milkshakes in front of you, one chocolate and the other strawberry. Him with his laptop open, fingers typing down his recent findings of the murder mystery that haunted your pitiful town of, Riverdale. And you, red leather bound sketchbook open, two blank pages facing you. Pencil in your right hand as you stared out of the window, it was raining, making the window mist up.
Letting out a small, gentle sigh, you glance over to Jughead and watch him type for a few minutes. His raven hair that was peeking out from under the unique beanie, curled and fell into his face, he was too in his ‘zone’ to sweep it away. His green eyes swept across the screen, focus and determination behind them.
It was creeping late into the evening, you’d have to get going soon, you always hated leaving for some reason. You closed your sketchbook and opened your study books, frowning seeing no notes, or even your finished homework. That was extremely odd, you had math and science, where the hell was it? You’ve been at Pop’s since school ended.
“You going?” Jughead’s voice rang out. His eyes still glued to his screen, excessive typing but he knew whenever you shut your sketchbook it was home time.
You didn’t answer as you flipped through the many, blank, pages of the study. “Wait. Where’s my homework?” You asked with annoyance, looking around the table irritably.
“You did your homework?” Jughead raised his eyebrows, actually looking over the lid of his laptop to you, shock evident in his voice.
You both stared at one another, him not believing you had done it, whilst you were dead certain you did. Jughead’s mouth curved up into a smirk as realisation dawned on you, you didn’t do your homework, in fact, you didn’t do anything but sit in Pop’s drinking your milkshake.
“Oh, yeah, right. I didn’t!” You frowned and closed your books, Jughead could sense something was wrong but didn’t know if you wanted to talk or just suffer in silence, as usual. “But, yeah, I should get going home.” You shrugged lightly, an indication that you were fine.
He nodded, “Alright. I’m gonna use the restroom, then I’ll walk you home,” you chuckled at Jughead. “A killer is walking around, what type of person would I be if I just let you walk home alone,” you had to nod in agreement as he stood up and walked out of sight.
The weird feeling erupted in your stomach, you got this whenever you were alone with Jughead but it would simmer away, although it always came back when he offered to walk you home. It was weird, Jughead always walked you home, it was nothing new but yet, it was affecting you. You couldn’t possibly have a crush on Jughead, right? No, he’s your friend, you’d say best friend almost. Although, it’s rational, to develop a crush. You see and spend time with him every day, he’s like you and attractive.
He seemed to like your company. Jughead doesn’t tolerate anyone, if he has a problem or doesn’t like someone, they usually know about it. Hence the argument he had with Archie, his former best friend, who in which is trying to make amends with. So, obviously, he must like you to a degree, especially to spend every day with you! Going by all previous conversations, which are a handful you doubt that you or Jug would say anything to one another about feelings.
Noticing his open laptop an idea popped into your head. You were never, ever, this forward. Was this even being forward? You had to work fast.
When Jughead came back he closed his laptop and placed it neatly in his bag, offering a half smile and you got out of the booth, knowing full well that when he was at his place he’d see what you left. You only hoped that your act of regretful confidence would work out.
You had small chatter along the way, you complained about the weather, you hated when it rained it always shone through in your art. You don’t know what it is but the gloomy weather always made your muse a little dreary; you hated those pieces, yet the darker ones were often, Jughead’s favourite to look at when they were done. When you reached your home, you sighed at the parked cars, your parents are home; never good, especially when they’re home together.
“Night, Juggers,” You nudged his shoulder and he rolled his eyes at the nickname, it accumulated over milkshakes a few weeks back.
“Night, Y/N, meet at Pop’s for breakfast?” He asked already walking back towards the diner, he stayed there until closing, something, Pop, himself told you.
You chuckled, “Sure.” Before walking into your house, as soon as, you opened the door you heard the yelling and sighed lightly before stalking towards your room.
Jughead, sat back in the booth, requesting a coffee as he opened his laptop once more. Keen to get this final thought down before it drifted away, only something caught his eye. A file on his desktop sat, titled ‘Read Me’, he opened it and skimmed through the document.
Out of the five hundred words written, he only managed to comprehend the ones saying you liked him. A lot of the words were sentences of “I’m not good with words like you are.”, it made him chuckle. He frowned, normally people doing anything remotely related to feelings towards him would repulse him, yet you? It made him feel at ease.
500 hundred words and he feels a weight lifted off of him and he didn’t know why. Well, he knew why but he wasn’t sure he was ready to admit it to himself!
(God, this probably sucks. I am sorry if I wrote him wrong, I tried. At least, I tried, right? Let me know if I should do a part two, I am taking on Jughead and Archie requests, so feel free to leave an idea for me to write. - Ro) I didn’t tag because I have no idea if any of my taggers like Riverdale.
If I do a part two, let me know by commenting on this if you wanna be tagged for it.

You woke up slowly, the sheets and blankets kicked off in your sleep and tangled in your legs. You felt content as you looked over at your alarm clock, the time being in the late afternoon. Sleeping in was your passion, you’d stayed up super late the previous night anyway, not too bothered that half the day was gone. You gazed out the one big window in your bedroom, the one that looked out at the bustling city. Snow had fallen last night, dusting over the streets and cars like powdered sugar on pancakes. It didn’t really feel like your birthday, but it wasn’t so bad to wake up on a day as pretty as this one.
You got up and stretched, sliding on your slippers as you went over to the bathroom to wash your face, splashing it with cold water to wake yourself up. Refreshed, you lazily went to make coffee, turning on your radio to hear a cozy sounding song playing through its speakers. You also heard your phone beep softly back in your bedroom, in no rush to see what is was as you finished making your coffee.
Walking back to your bedroom, you slid open your phone, reading a text from one of your friends; something along the lines of wanting to meet somewhere for your birthday to celebrate. You smiled at their thoughtfulness, replying that you didn’t really mind where or how you partied, allowing them to go wild. Your friend answered back quickly, excitedly texting in all caps that she already had an idea in mind. She’d text you the details later, wishing you a final happy birthday.
You set your phone down, feeling your body give a quick shiver of energy, the coffee beginning to kick in. If they were planning on going out after the sun had gone down, you weren’t going to rush to get ready. Instead you plopped down on your couch with a bag of cheesy popcorn, clicking on the tv and watching the current music show programs contently.
Over time, you received various calls and texts from family and friends, all wishing you a happy birthday and to enjoy yourself today. That I will, you thought with a smile, standing up to refill your bowl of snacks for the second time. Someone might think it sad that this was how you were celebrating your birthday, but in all honestly, you loved having a day all to yourself. Of course, you didn’t mind hanging out with your friends later, in fact you really were looking forward to it.
After a while, you received a text from your friend again, with a time, address, and instructions to dress cutely. You smiled at the smirking emoji, texting back before you wandered back over to your bedroom, making a beeline for your closet. The time had said 8:00, so you thought you might as well get ready now, giving yourself two hours to really put on the ritz. It was your birthday after all, you didn’t have too many chances to really go all out the rest of the year.
You shifted through your clothes, finally being drawn to a cute, slimming black miniskirt; the perfect ploy to slim your food baby from all your snacking you did today. You’d pair the skirt with a red ribbed mock neck long sleeve that ecentuated your chest. You slid on a pair of sheer pantie hose before you put the skirt on, tucking the shirt into the waistband to really make your hips pop. You finished the look off with some simple black ankle boots with just enough heel to make your butt look extra good. Satisfied, you headed over the bathroom to finish getting ready, knowing you would spend at least an hour doing your hair and makeup.
A little over an hour later and your hair was curled and twisted up into a high bun, knowing that you’d probably get hot later. Your makeup was simple, but with a little touch of sparkle around your eyes that made them twinkle merrily. Happy with your appearance, you packed your purse full of the essentials you usually needed. Before you slipped out the door, you slid your chic winter coat on, hoping you wouldn’t freeze in your little skirt on the way to the subway station.
You boarded the train half frozen, passing the fifteen minutes on your phone thanking people who had posted birthday related things on social media. A few people discreetly complimented you on the train, making you flush sheepishly as they applauded your style and makeup.
Once you arrived at your stop, you took the stairs up onto a crowded street known for its nightlife. This certain strip was famous for its clubs among young people, and you’d been here on a few occasions. You weren’t shocked that they had decided on a club to host your party, what did surprise you though was which one they chose.
The exterior was modern and sleek, only the big tinted windows giving an indication of what was happening on the inside. This club was notorious for having the best of just about everything, music, drinks, food, and people. Celebrities frequented this spot, so it was a rather exclusive club, and difficult to get into. You went to walk to the back of the long line just like everyone else, but a large bouncer stopped you, looking you up and down before asking politely, “Excuse me, are you ______?”
Your eyes widened in surprise, “Yes, that’s me.”
He nodded to another bouncer who opened the door, loud electric music spilling out onto the street. The bouncer held out an arm to the door, “This way, please.”
You were still amazed as you walked up the steps and through the black glass doors of the club, staring in awe at the fashionable interior. The bouncer signaled you to follow him, leading you past the lively dance floor, whose tiles lit up in rainbow colors to the beat of the music. You were led up the stairs, almost unable to take your eyes off the people mingling and dancing, the place so alive and busy. Your body itched to shed your coat and join them.
The bouncer stopped at another black glass door, politely knocking on it twice before he opened it, revealing the familiar faces of your girlfriends. They jumped up in excitement, popping those little confetti and streamer poppers as they cheered, “Surprise!”
You were ushered in, the door closing as you grinned at your friends, embracing them warmly as they kissed your cheeks affectionately. They all said their ‘happy birthdays’, gushing over your outfit and makeup as they helped you with your coat and bag.
“Come over here, _______,” your friend who had texted you patted the chic leather couch next to her. “The birthday girl sits in the middle!”
You giggled and sat down, immediately being greeted by a cake with candles in it, “Oh my gosh, you guys.” They cooed and laughed, singing you happy birthday loudly and cheering when blew out the candles. “I don’t deserve you all. Really.”
“Oh, stop that,” one of your friends scolded affectionately, “You always do so much for us, we really wanted to make this birthday extra special for you.” The rest agreed, already pushing presents into your hands.
“Wait, guys,” you laughed, setting them down on the coffee table. “Presents later. I really just want to get down their and dance my ass off.”
Your friends booed jokingly, but they were already heading towards the door, tying back their hair as they prepared for the sweaty mess downstairs. You felt your body vibrate, rushing down the stairs to finally step onto the bright and colorful dance floor. Your friends quickly joined you, forming a circle around you as you danced wildly, dropping down to the floor with the beat, causing them to scream gleefully at your sudden sexiness. You didn’t hold back, allowing your body to move provocatively to the beat as you closed your eyes and soaked in the music.
You and friends danced for what felt like hours, taking the occasional break to indulge in some delicious drinks. Your body buzzed with the alcohol, but you were no lightweight, so your wits were right about you. You couldn’t say the same for your friends though, who stumbled around happily and danced without a care. You laughed at them, holding their hands so they wouldn’t fall over as you danced. Several cute guys had approached you, and you’d indulged in your inner desires as you danced with them. You would grind your ass into their crotch like an expert, ending up at one point sandwiched between two very cute guys. You kissed a few of them, just for shits and giggles, but the moment they whispered for you to leave with them and go ‘somewhere more private’, you would politely decline and slip away from them. Even with alcohol in your system, you were still smart enough to avoid a situation like that.
You and your friends eventually reconvened, wanting to go open your presents and let your feet take a break too. Sitting down, you opened your presents, grateful for the effort they put into them. After opening the last one, you went to thank them, only to be hushed by one of them, “Wait, that wasn’t the last one.” They were all giggling, making your eyes narrow at them in suspicion.
“All the girls and I pitched in for this one,” she smirked, your eyes widening as your feared the worse. The look they had on their faces only spelled trouble, “I’m sure you’ll find it rather…enjoyable.” Right on cue, the door opened, and a boy stepped in. He was far more gorgeous than any of the guys you’d danced with, making them look homely compared to the god that stood before you. Your jaw dropped, still unable to comprehend what they were implying, “I-I don’t understand…”
He answered, voice so deep you felt it in your stomach, “Don’t worry your pretty little head about a thing, sweetheart.” He was dressed casually, but stylishly; a sports team jersey of sorts, sweatpants that left little to the imagination, and Timberlands that clunked with authority on the tiled floor. He wore gold chains too, actually making them look hot for the first time in your life. He had beautiful long brown hair that swooped perfectly, complimenting his warm brown eyes and perfectly pouty lips that naturally had a smirky curl to them.
Sweetheart, you trembled at his words, eyes wide as he walked up to you effortlessly, firmly taking your chin into his hand. He ran his thumb across your bottom lip with a smirk, one of your friends spoke up, holding back giggles, “Meet Johnny, _______. The most expensive and impressive call boy in the city, and he’s here to help you celebrate your birthday.
You were speechless, eyes snapping up to meet his, which were watching and gauging your reaction carefully. He was perfectly calm and collected, while you were completely flabbergasted, still unable to understand what the hell was happening.
“We also booked you a room at a really nice hotel,” one of your friends spoke up, biting her lip in amusement.
If your eyes could get any bigger, they would have popped out of your skull. Your mouth couldn’t move, still transfixed with the way Johnny’s thumb parted your lips and slid into your mouth. You lightly tasted him on your tongue and accidentally let out a quiet whimper, his own lips twitching into a smile at your cute reaction. He’d have a lot of fun with you, you were definitely doing something to him. And he certainly didn’t mind.
“Before your friends leave, baby girl,” Johnny simpered, finally letting his hand drop from your mouth. “I’m going to put on a little bit of a show for them, free of charge.” Your friends laughed and fanned themselves jokingly, but you could tell they were trying not to look as shook as you were.
Johnny took a half step back from you, but he still towered so much that you had to crane your neck. You sat back, trying to relax your nerves but failing miserably as the call boy began to rotate his hips sensually to the muffled music on the other side of the door. If you thought your dancing had been risqué, Johnny made you look like a nun doing the Macarena.
He suddenly slid onto the couch, straddling your hips and grinding into you as he gave you what you finally realized to be a lap dance. He grabbed the back of your head, exposing your neck so he could ghost his lips along your sensitive skin. You let out a whimper, this time not holding back as your hips moved on their own accord against his. Johnny stopped with a smirk against your neck, dragging his soft lips up to your ear where he whispered, “Now, now sweetheart. Let’s save that for later, your friends are still here.” He let his tongue run over the shell of your ear, his voice lower, “Unless you’re perfectly fine with me fucking you in front of your friends?”
You shook your head, remembering that your friends were still in the room. You glanced quickly at them, they were clutching onto one another, eyes glazed over and biting their fingers at the scene before them. Johnny slid off your lap, taking your hand rather politely and snapping your friends from their trance, “Okay, ladies. Show’s over, time for us to leave.”
They all gushed in agreement, some of them whispering excitedly to one another in disbelief, others reassuring you that they would take care of your presents. In a daze you thanked them, barely remembering how your coat ended up on you and your bag on your shoulder, “Bye…thank you for everything.”
With his large hand grasping your smaller one, Johnny led you out of the club, easily weaving between crowds of people who were still dancing the night away. When you got out onto the street, snow was beginning to fall again, but the amount of people had only increased. The tall boy ran a hand through his hair, the action hypnotizing as he wrapped an arm around your waist and entered the stream of people, “This way.”
You didn’t know what to say to him, but the silence was stifling, so you murmured loud enough so that only he could hear you, “You don’t have to do this, you know.”
“I know,” he replied, glancing down at you once before continuing with a small smirk, “But I want to.” He waited a minute before replying with an actual smile, “And they paid me too, so…”
You gave a small smile and blushed, clutching onto your bag for dear life as you two walked down the bustling street, snow falling softly and tickling your face. Your face burned all the way to the hotel, still unable to comprehend that such a gorgeous boy, a call boy at that, had his hand around your waist, and was leading you to some hotel where he would do God knows what to you. If some part of your brain was firing off and saying, “Hey, _____! Isn’t this a bad idea?”, you didn’t hear it. Instead you were listening to the other voice that whispered giddily, “A call boy! Just imagine! Wait! You don’t have to because it’s real!” While you were fighting a war in your mind, you failed to notice that the two of you arrived at the hotel, which was way too luxurious for normal people. Johnny walked in like it was nothing, like he owned it, and upon noticing your reaction he smirked, “Listen, sweetheart. I’ve been to nicer, my clients are quite fond of me and have quite the heavy purse. This is child’s play compared to other places.” He spared you a glance, eyes traveling up your legs and curves, as he murmured, “Who knows, maybe I’ll show you them someday.”
You stared at your shoes in embarrassment, unable to find your usually witty tongue that served you so well. Instead, you walked with him through the sparkling lobby, the marble tiles so shiny you could see your reflection. Johnny didn’t even stop at the front desk, only giving the doorman a curt nod, who returned the gesture. As he pressed the button for the elevator, you gaped at him, “What was that?”
“That, baby girl,” he smiled lazily, a confident look, “is called connections.”
You were pulled into the elevator as soon as the doors opened, Johnny smashing the button that closed the doors before people could step on too. They cried out angrily but he only smirked at them, already backing you against the side of the elevator.
“I was going to be a gentleman and wait until we got to the room,” Johnny murmured, large hands traveling to your waist. “But you look so good just standing there I can’t help but want a quick taste.”
You barely had any time to reply when his lips crashed passionately into yours, hands on your hips rough as they tugged you into his. If kissing was an art form, Johnny had become a master artisan. His soft lips moved sensually against yours, controlling and powerful as you tilted your head back against the wall in defeat, allowing him to completely take over. He had you pinned against the cold metal wall, teeth nipping at your bottom lip for entrance as his tongue slipped into your mouth. You’d never been kissed like that, eyes flying open with a surprised moan before they slid close at the intimate feeling. Your head spun like you’d downed numerous shots, futilely trying to push his large frame off of yours so you could breath. But Johnny was stubborn and dominant, not stopping for a few more seconds before he pulled away, satisfyingly watching you gasp for air like someone who almost drowned.
You noticed your hands had bunched up in his shirt in an iron grip, slowly releasing the fabric as you blushed. You really didn’t know what to say to him, how did you even talk with a call boy? Don’t you just fuck and then go your separate ways?
Apparently not because Johnny couldn’t stop poking at you, all those pet names he threw around, the way he hadn’t stopped touching you since the club. He was beginning to frustrate you, though you couldn’t let him know that, he’d take too much pleasure in knowing he made you squirm.
“How was that, baby girl?,” Johnny murmured as you reached your floor, making no move to get off as you realized he was waiting for an answer.
You were known for being honest at all times, so you couldn’t help the words that slipped out of your mouth, “It was really hot.” Your ears turned pink, seeing a smile on his lips as he took your hand again and led you down a hall of doors.
The walk felt never ending, your body becoming hotter with each step as you stopped at the very last door, a corner suite. From the pocket of his tantalizing grey sweatpants, Johnny pulled out a key card, which he swiped effortlessly. He held the door open for you, ducking under his arm as you took in your new surroundings.
Your friends had apparently spared no expense, regardless of what Johnny said, the place was absolutely gorgeous. Decorated in a rather modern fashion, there was one impressive floor to ceiling window that over looked the city, and one grand king sized bed fitted with lovely grey sheets. You walked over to the bed and stroked the soft threads, unsure of what to do with yourself, but unable to meet Johnny’s eyes.
He stood off to the side, watching you carefully like a predator watches his prey, wondering when he was going to pounce. You weren’t sure what you were feeling, whether you were ready or not, whether this was something you really wanted. Sure, your body was telling you to let Johnny do things to you no one had done before, but your brain was battling and kept you from falling into the call boy’s arms. You sat down on the bed and took your heeled boots off, not as an invitation for him to go on with it, but because you were suddenly so tired and confused.
Johnny could tell you were at war with yourself, you were not the first time he’d dealt with someone who was hesitant. All you needed was a little push, a little reassurance, and he could give you that and much more if you agreed.
“_______,” Johnny called out, surprising you as he used your name while he walked over and sat next to you on the bed. “I know what you’re thinking,” he said, turning to look at you, the natural curve of his mouth calm and pensive, “and I understand. This isn’t the first time someone was unsure, it’s actually really common.”
You stayed silent, mulling over his words. He sighed, probably expecting you to say something, but you didn’t, not knowing how to tell him both sides of your feelings. He was gorgeous and willing, here only to make your wildest fantasies come true, but the truth is, you were terrified. You hadn’t told anyone, not even your friends, and Johnny certainly didn’t know.
You were still a virgin.
You were surprised Johnny couldn’t spot the fact that you were one from a mile away, seeing as he’s probably slept with more people than he could count on his fingers and toes four times over. The famous call boy stood up from the bedding, dusting off his pants, “I understand. I’m not going to force you into anything you would regret.” He was already making his way to the door, grabbing his coat as he reached for the door handle, “You don’t have to worry, I’ll give the money back to your friends. It’s not a big deal.”
You forced yourself to look up, seeing him turn the handle with the actual intent of leaving sent your nerves into overdrive. You stood up suddenly, taking a few steps toward him, “Johnny, wait!”
He turned expectantly, looking fazed for only a moment before he returned to his calm state, “What?”
You gulped, closing the distance between the two of you and overlapping your hand with the the one that rested on the door handle, “Stay…please.”
He let go immediately, dropping his coat and backing you up slowly in tottering steps until the back of your legs hit the bed. You sat back down on the edge, allowing him to tower of you and cage your body with his as he pushed you into the mattress. His voice was low, already laden with a lust that sent a shiver down your back, “You sure?”
“Y-yes,” you quivered, hands lacing behind his neck as you pressed your thighs together, “I want you.”
“Positive?,” he teased with a smile, playful and confident again as he let one of his hands barely slide up your miniskirt.
“Yes! Fuck me!,” you cried out, exasperated and wiggling underneath that stare of his that practically undressed you.
“Alright, princess,” Johnny smirked, lips barely touching yours, “You didn’t even say please, that wasn’t very nice of you.” His hand crept up into your skirt, finding that you were only wearing pantie hose without underwear, and that greatly excited him.
He inched his fingers up your inner thigh, your legs parting on their own as you tilted your head back at the strange new feeling, “Ah…!”
He bunched up your skirt around your hips, his short finger nails digging into the hose and ripping a hole big enough to give him access to your womanhood. Cool air hit your lower lips, eyes screwing shut in pleasure as Johnny let one of his fingers dip lightly into your wet folds. He down at you underneath him, smirking, “Now listen hear.”
“I could take you real slow, sweetheart,” he traced a finger up your slit, letting it press lightly enough on your clit to make you gasp. “Or I could fuck your brains out.”
You could only moan, feeling him increase the pressure on your clit as he circled it with his finger, “Either way, baby girl, you’re going to end up bent over and spread wide for me.”
He bent down so his lips brushed the shell of your ear, retracting his hand from your core and unzipping your skirt slowly, “I’m going to make you come around my cock at least two times tonight, sweetheart. How does that sound?”
You swallowed thickly, tears of pleasure already pricking at your eyes just from his words, “So good.” You’d never felt so aroused in all your life, your body experiencing sensations and feelings you’ve never felt before. It was all so new and beautiful, you’re sure your body wouldn’t be able to last the night.
Johnny sat up and took his shirt off, giving you a good long look of his toned tan chest, his gold chains bouncing lightly as he walked around the bed until he laid himself down at the head. He made himself comfortable as you sat at the foot of the bed confused, “What’re you-”
“I want you to dance for me, baby girl,” Johnny murmured, his hand languidly resting over the bulge in his sweatpants. “I saw you in the club, dancing like the little slut you are, such a naughty girl. Stand up.”
You listened obediently, already sliding your skirt and panties hoes down your legs as your body moved to some silent music. You recalled a song you’d really liked from earlier on the dance floor, a hypnotic beat that had the risqué sound of a bed rhythmically creaking. You danced to that beat, tongue coming out to trace your bottom lip as you stared at Johnny, whose hand moved lightly over his sweatpants.
He watched you with intense eyes, lips parting slightly as he watched your every movement, “You know you made so many guys hard, sweetheart. And you turned them all down too, isn’t that right?” His voice dropped an octave, his abs flexing as he rubbed his dick harder, “They all would have gladly waited in line to fuck you right there too.”
Not missing a single movement of his hand, you slipped your shirt over your head, dropping down to the floor like you had in the club. Johnny sat up a little straighter to watch you knot your hips on the floor, his dick twitching at the sight of your bare body.
As you stood back up, your reached behind and unclasped your bra, feeling bold enough to throw it at Johnny’s feet. He let out a small groan, watching as your crawled on all fours towards him on the bed. You felt like someone completely different than earlier, driven only by your need to be with Johnny and feel his touch.
You let your hands press against his chest, straddling him like he had done to you in the club and grinding down in his clothes erection. Johnny must of had a ton of self control because he only breathed through his nostrils heavily and squeezed your hips with his hands, guiding you as you rode him. You let out lewd sounds you didn’t know you were capable of making, unable to bare the pleasure you were feeling, how hot Johnny’s skin was against your palms. You couldn’t resist the temptation any longer, your fingers leaving his chest and choosing to weave through his long brown hair.
You tugged on the roots as he began to grind back up into you, making you moan, “Johnny…”
He grunted in approval, stilling your for just a moment so he could pull his sweatpants down. You had left a large wet spot over the front, all from your dripping core as you rode him. You balked, realizing what his intention was as he slipped his impressive dick out of his briefs, “What’s wrong sweetheart? You suddenly scared?”
You gulped, raising yourself up on trembling thighs so he could position himself at your entrance. Your fingers dug into the skin of his broad shoulders, heart beat picking up as you prepared yourself for him, “N-no.”
He didn’t even reply, instead he decided enough was enough and slammed himself into you harshly. You cried out, tears slipping down your cheeks as his eyes suddenly widened in shock, “Shit. _______, why didn’t you tell me this was your first time?”
You buried your head into his shoulder, sniffling from the pain as his arms wrapped comfortingly around your frame, “I-I didn’t want you to make fun of me.”
Johnny sighed, showering your skin with kisses and rubbing soothing circles around your back, “Sweetheart, no….”
You gave a shaky breath, beginning to get used to the unfamiliar stretch of your core, the strange feeling giving you a sense of completion. The call boy cupped your face, eyes surprisingly earnest, “I’ll make it up to you, baby girl, I promise, okay?”
You nodded, resting your head against the crook of his neck. You felt so small in his arms, but safe, so you whispered tentatively, “Okay. You can move….”
His hips moved gently at first, rocking in and out of you smoothly as you got used to the feeling, which began to build into one of pleasure. You hesitantly moved your hips, clumsily finding the same rhythm as him. He noticed you reciprocating his movement, picking up his speed slightly and pressing a kiss to your neck, “Feel good?”
You could only moan softly, voice wavering as he bounced you on his dick getting increasingly rougher as he realized you were beginning to like it that way. His hips rutted harshly into yours, now unable to hold back as you grew accustomed to his size, biting down into the skin of his shoulder when he grabbed your ass, “Johnny!…”
“Such a good girl,” he groaned, head lolling back against the headboard as he lost himself in the feeling. “Your tight little pussy feels so good.”
Your breathing increased, feeling close to your high as Johnny spanked your ass roughly, most likely leaving a perfectly red handprint. Soon as his hand made contact with your ass again, you were gone, arching your back in a silent scream as your first orgasm of the night rolled over you.
“That’s right, sweetheart,” Johnny smirked, obviously not close at all to his own high as he helped you ride out your high. “Come all over this dick.”
Once you’d settled down, Johnny suddenly slipped out of you, taking your wrist and dragging you over to the large window. He pressed your naked body front first against the glass, legs still trembling from your release as you watched the unsuspecting people walk by on the street. He kicked your legs wider, running a hand down your back as he guided his member to your dripping heat. Before he pushed into you, Johnny leaned over, resting his chin on your shoulder and licking the skin there, “I’m going to fuck you up against this window for all these people. They’re going to see you spread all pretty for me, baby girl, pressed against the glass like the slut you are.”
You moaned loudly, feeling him push into your still flexing walls, a tighter fit than even the first time he entered you. He gave you no time to adjust, fucking you so hard against the window that the glass vibrated dagerously. You felt your heart increase as you were forced to look down at the people walking down on the ground. Someone could look up any minute and see your breasts pressed against the glass and you already felt a blush reaching your cheeks at the thought. For some reason, it excited you being in such a dangerous position.
Johnny worked your body like a pro, his much taller height practically lifting you from the ground as you stood on your tip toes. He was hitting a spot inside of you that you didn’t realize was there, and each time he did, your body felt an electric shock. It was intoxicating the way he breath fanned across your back, his small grunts so sensual in your ear that you felt them travel to your core. He let out a groan, “I’m close, baby girl. I’m going to come all over you.”
Pressing your cheek against the glass, you reached a hand down to rub yourself to completion. You saw stars as you touched your clit, not realizing such a small bundle of nerves could feel so incredible at just the slightest brush. Johnny saw you touching yourself, pushing your hand aside and replacing it with his own as he panted, “Let me help you out, sweetheart.”
You slapped the glass with a hand covered in your essence as he pummeled into you, his thrusts becoming choppier as he approached his high. He suddenly pulled out with a loud groan, “Fuck…”
You felt strands of his hot cum land on your back, turning your head to watch him pump his cock to milk it of all his release. Which was apparently a lot, leaving your back completely covered and messy. You shivered at the feeling, still close to your release as you cupped his jaw and kissed his passionately. Pulling away from his lips, you murmured against his lips, “Your cum feels so warm on my skin, Johnny.” He moaned and returned your kiss, sloppily letting his tongue stroke yours, remembering that you hadn’t come yet.
Johnny fell to his knees, gold chains clinking lightly as he pushed you against the glass again, this time with your cum covered back smearing it. He spread your legs, a smirk on his face, “Don’t think I forgot about you sweetheart.”
You didn’t understand what he meant until he leaned in and licked a stripe up your lower lips, your thighs trembling at the feeling. He mouthed your soaking heat, your fingers gripping at his hair as he made some of the lewdest noises with his mouth. He focused mainly on you clit, his teeth coming out to tug on it lightly as he brought his fingers to your entrance. He slipped two of his long fingers in, pumping them in and out at a nice steady pace as you moaned at the feeling. He hummed, sending gorgeous vibrations onto your clit and making you brain blank as you suddenly came. You arched into his mouth, trembling with your release as he pulled his mouth away and finger fucked you to completion, “That’s right sweetheart, let me have it.”
When you came down, he pulled his fingers out and placed them in his mouth, looking up at you through his lashes as he sucked them clean. He placed kisses on your stomach, peeling you away from the mess you’d made on the glass with his come and laying you on your stomach on the bed. You sighed contently, watching as Johnny tucked himself into his sweatpants again and walked into the bathroom. He returned with a washcloth that steamed with warm water, coming over to clean your back of his release.
“It’s been a while since someone made me come this much,” he casually observed, wiping you back and pressing kisses to it when he was done. “Usually I would leave right after I fucked someone but…”
You felt something akin to hope bubble in your chest, for an unknown reason, and was happy. You tried to appear calm as you turned on your side, “But…what?”
Johnny looked at you with a smile, a real one, laying down next to you so that you were face to face, “But, you’re rather interesting.” He brushed your hair behind your ear, “And cute. And beautiful.”
You blushed, biting your lip to hide your pleased smile, “Oh.”
He watched you amusedly, “Usually I have a personal rule where I don’t date my clients, but you’re a special case I think.”
“What’re you trying to say?,” you smiled, feeling brave enough to brush the hair from his eyes.
“What I’m trying to say is,” he started, pushing you down into the bed and caging you in with his arms. “I wouldn’t mind taking you out to get coffee sometime soon. So I can get to know the pretty personality behind the pretty face.”
You laughed lightly, allowing him to press kisses to your neck, “I wouldn’t mind that at all either.”
Johnny looked up at you happily, “Then it’s a date. Now,” he let his hands wander to places he had yet to explore, making you gasp, “we have this room for the rest of the night. Why don’t we put it to good use?”
Request: Well this might be cheesy but maybe something (also with buck) where you’re engaged but after an accident you can’t walk properly anymore but buck still loves you the same and supports you where he can. What he doesn’t know is that you’re secretly practising to be able to work on your wedding. Soooo at the wedding day you are able to walk down the aisle on your own and Bucky gets happy and speechless and stuff ? Idk maybe it’s weird but I kinda liked the thought of it
A/N: I freaking live for angst, here we go! I don’t know if this is what you asked for exactly. I tried, though! Hope you enjoy! -Kaley xx
Warnings: car accident, disabled!reader, mentions of wreckage, reader cannot walk, fluff, angst
You weren’t an Avenger, you weren’t a fighter, and you certainly didn’t believe you had any enemies. You were normal. It was something you and Bucky worked really hard at achieving. He lived his life, fought the bad guys, saved the world, and got to be amazing while you went to school, worked your part time job, and shopped at Target. Normal. You didn’t do anything to cause anyone any harm, you didn’t steal, spy, or track. You just lived your life day to day and while it may seem boring to some people, you were happy. Bucky made you happy, and being engaged to Bucky sent you over the moon. You loved your quiet little life and you knew Bucky appreciated the stillness of it after working some of the missions that he had been sent on. You had Bucky and Bucky would always have you and that was all you needed.
Except now you were panicking on a freeway while trying to find your cell phone because you were certain there were some people following you. You had just gotten out of class when you had that feeling wash over you, like someone was watching you. You tried to play it off as paranoia, you had just had a long day and needed a nice shower. But when you got to the parking lot where your car was parked the feeling hadn’t subsided, in fact, it was stronger and you were pretty sure you heard footsteps behind you. Once you were settled in your vehicle you locked the doors and got out of there as quick as you could without looking back. Now you kind of wished you would have looked back. The black SUV with the even blacker tinted windows was right on your tail and there were two others that were creeping up on both sides of you. You were in some shit all right.
Finally grabbing a hold of your phone you dialed Bucky’s number as quickly as you could, putting it on speaker and throwing it into the passenger seat. After ringing a few times he picked up, cheerily greeting you.
“Hey, doll! Are you out of class already? I-” but you cut him off before he could finish, “Bucky I think I’m being followed and I don’t know what to do!” Your voice shook with fear as you glanced into your rear views to see the SUVs had gotten even closer. “What? Are you sure they’re following you? What does the car look like?” He frantically asked, and you heard a bunch of rustling in the background.
"There’s three of them, they’re uh, they’re black SUVs, I can’t see who’s driving. The windows are too dark….I’m scared, Bucky.”
Bucky cursed as he heard the fear in your voice, and hurriedly flagged Tony down as he happened to be walking through the training room Bucky and Steve were currently occupying. He gave him a confused look but approached nonetheless. “Yes?” He wondered, looking over at Steve who looked just as lost.
"It’s y/n, she said that she’s being followed by three SUVs. Can you get me a visual?” Bucky quickly asked as he tried to listen for any background noise on your end of the call, praying whoever was after you wouldn’t try shooting at you or your car. “What?!” Steve bellowed as he tried listening in on the call as well, while Tony had Jarvis trace your location.
"Hey, baby, I need you to listen to me, ok? We’re looking at you right now and you need to do exactly as I ask. Can you do that?” Buck asked you as Tony and Steve worked on mapping a way for you to lose the followers. “Yeah, I can. I love you, Bucky.” He felt his chest tighten as you spoke, not liking the circumstances under which you’re saying them, “I love you to, doll. We’re gonna lose ‘em, alright? I promise.” He said before he began telling you which turns to take and which roads to go down as they watched you from the holographic screen Tony controlled.
"I can’t lose them, guys! I don’t know what to do!” You panicked as you felt the car behind you hit up against the back of your car. “They’re trying to crash into me!” You sped up and took a random right turn and looked behind you relieved to not see anyone there.
"Wait, I think I tricked them! They’re gone!” You laughed as you turned back around at the same time you heard Bucky, Steve, and Tony yelling at you through your phone to watch out. By the time you noticed the truck coming at you head on, it was too late. All that managed to escape you was shriek of terror as you felt the impact of your car slamming into the other. Then nothing. It was all black.
Bucky let an agonized roar leave his lungs as he watched your car flip several times before bursting into flames, it was as if someone had ripped his heart out of his chest and he couldn’t remember how to breathe. Everything was numb and he had this consistent ringing in his ears. The sound of your scream haunting his mind. “Bucky! Look at me, buddy! Let’s go get her!” Steve spoke urgently with a tremor in his voice as he quickly guided Bucky to the garage where Tony had a car waiting for the three of them.
"I contacted Bruce and he’s setting up his lab right now, we just need to make sure she’s stable until we get her back here.” Tony informed them as he sped off, not saying anything else. Though the speed the car was traveling at said more than any words could have.
"She’s gonna be fine, everything’s fine.” Steve nodded, looking as though he was trying to convince himself more than anyone. Bucky knew he was scared too, you’d become like a little sister to Steve and though he’d never admit it to you, he held a big soft spot for your corny jokes and determination to bring him up to date with the 21st century.
In no time they were at the crash site, thankfully no one had seen it so there wasn’t any crowding. It looked so much worse in person too, Bucky didn’t want to admit it but he wondered how anyone could survive the outcome your car was currently in. As soon as his feet touched the ground after exiting the car, his knees buckled and he couldn’t stop the tears from leaving his eyes.
That was nearly eight months ago. You’d managed to somehow survive the crash, something Bruce and Dr. Cho had a really hard time understanding. You were just happy you were alive, and so was everyone else. Especially Bucky. After undergoing several immediate operations following the accident you went into a coma. You were in it for nearly two months and when you woke up the first person you saw was Bucky. You’d never seen your strong man cry before, he’d always been the tough one, but when you opened your eyes and squeezed his hand he sobbed for nearly an hour while he held you. It was the worse than the crash, you think.
You were bed ridden for a few days before they gave you the ok to start moving around again. Laying down for so long had weakened your muscles significantly so it was time to build your strength again.
Only you couldn’t do that. With Bucky’s help you sat up at the edge of the bed, and when you tried to stand you would’ve hit the floor if it wouldn’t have been for him catching you. You looked up at him in confusion before trying again, only for the same thing to happen. You spent the next hour trying, and failing, to get your limbs to work and the looks of sympathy you kept getting from Bucky and anyone that happened to come by to see you were bothering you.
"I don’t think I can walk anymore, James.” You stated blankly before scooting back under the covers and turning to face away from him. You stayed that way for two days.
It wasn’t the idea of never walking again that scared you. That’s what everyone assumed was wrong, no. It was the idea of being a bride that couldn’t walk down the isle to marry her fiancé. It was the idea of not getting your first dance with him at your wedding or not getting to run around the yard with your future children that terrified you the most. Simple things that had meant so much to you. It wasn’t fair.
That’s what you found yourself telling Tony one day when you had rolled your wheelchair into the kitchen of the tower. He noticed the frustrated look on your face and asked you what was wrong and before you knew it the pair of you were down in the basement with Rhodey, attempting to build yourself some new leg braces too. It was the first time since finding out you couldn’t walk that you actually held a little bit of hope. Maybe you could walk again. At least down the isle, that’s all you wanted.
The project had taken over the two of you, you’d spend hours in the shop trying new materials and attempting to stand. You and Tony hadn’t actually talked about it but he knew you wanted to keep this secret between the two of you. Your wedding was a month away and you wanted to try, for Bucky. And you did good at keeping it hush until one day Steve came down to talk to Tony about something and found you holding onto railings on either side of you as you managed to stand for nearly two minutes.
"That’s a record, y/n! Longest so far! You’re improving, pretty soon you’ll be carrying Bucky through the threshold.” Tony joked as he lifted you in a hug.
“What’s going on?” You turned and saw the shocked look on Steve’s face before gesturing him to come closer. Obeying, he knelt beside your wheelchair you had sat down in and listened as you explained your newest endeavor to him. He swore not to tell a soul and over the course of the next few weeks he could be found helping you and Tony and always lifting you up when you got discouraged.
And then the day came when you did it. Then you did it again and again and pretty soon you were walking around without the help of anyone holding onto you. Granted, it was a little difficult and you had a pretty wicked limp but you were walking! Tony and Steve cheered and you were engulfed in a sea of muscle as they took turns spinning you around. Rhodey even got a turn as he showed off his leg braces and lifted you up. The four of you laughed together as tears blurred your vision and you squeezed Tony in the tightest hug you’d ever given anyone.
“I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. You’re amazing.” You whispered as he hugged you to him. You looked over at Steve to see him grinning at you with glistening eyes.
“You too, Cap. You’re the best friend I ever did have.” You joked as you pulled him over to you.
“Bucky’s gonna lose it, y/n/n. You’re gonna be the most beautiful bride the world has ever seen.” He kissed your forehead and backed away as he pointed up the stairs.
“I’m gonna go make sure he’s still distracted with something. Wanda’s probably tired of keeping him busy for me. Just one more week to go and you can walk whenever you please, yeah?” He winked at you and jogged up the steps.
You turned to Tony with a serious look on your face. “I have a serious question for you, Mr. Stark.” You stated as he smirked down at you. “Lay it on me, sweet cheeks.” You rolled your eyes with a smile as you felt yourself grow nervous.
“How would you feel about walking me down the isle?”
And so he did. The big day had finally arrived and you stood with Tony behind the doors separating you from seeing your fiancé. “Nervous?” He questioned as you fidgeted with your bouquet. “More like anxious.” You responded as you heard the wedding march begin to play. “Here we go, you mumbled and felt Tony give your arm a squeeze.
The doors opened and you began your walk down the isle that seemed to go on for miles. You hadn’t looked up yet, afraid of the reaction you’d get from Bucky for hiding this from him. The two of you had a few arguments over the course of the past couple months regarding your disappearances. He thought you didn’t want to be with him anymore and thought you were avoiding him. You had to convince him you were planning the wedding and getting last minute details worked out. Which you did, while Tony tinkered. You were the bride, after all.
You finally looked up into the beautiful eyes of your beautiful man and saw the tears threatening to fall. He had a look of awe upon his face and he was smiling so big you were sure his cheeks were killing him. You felt your eyes well up at the sight of him and choked out a laugh. You were doing it.
You looked over at Steve to see him smiling tearily at you. And you giggled at the shocked looks on Sam and Clint’s faces. Natasha was glaring at you with eyes rimmed red because you were her best friend and she was so happy for you and, she’d never admit it but, she was trying not to cry. You finally stood face to face with Bucky and your tears finally fell when you saw his own fall.
"You’re the most beautiful girl in the universe, doll.” He whispered as he cupped your face in his hands and rested his forehead against yours.
“I can’t believe you’ve been hiding this from me.” He laughed as you giggled at his wide eyes, “surprise?” You smiled as you grabbed his hands. He looked over his shoulder at Steve and smirked, “you’re a punk.” The guests all laughed as Steve shot back, “okay, jerk.”
The ceremony went beautifully and pretty soon you were being swept off your feet as Bucky carried you down the isle. And later that night, as you laid together in a blissful silence, Bucky propped up on his elbow and looked down at you with a smile. “You’re incredible, you know that?” He asked as he leaned down and nuzzled into your neck. You laughed as his scruff scratched you and tried wiggling away. “Nuh uh, c'mere.” He pulled you closer and kissed your shoulder.
“When I found out I couldn’t walk all that ran through my mind was, ‘I’m not gonna get to walk down the isle at my wedding. I’m not gonna get my first dance with you, and I’m not gonna be able to chase our children around because I can’t walk.’ And I refused to just accept that. I had to try and Tony, Steve, and Rhodey made sure I had all the support I needed. Honestly, without them I probably wouldn’t have done it.” You said as you traced your finger over his chest.
“When you were in the accident and we were on our way to go get you, what ran through mine was, 'God, just let her be alive. Let her come home to me. I can’t live without her.’ Because I can’t. I love Steve, he’s my brother, but I know he thinks that one day I’m gonna snap and I’ll be the same Bucky he knew back in the forties. And the rest of the world don’t know whether to look at me as a murderer or a hero. But you, you see me as Bucky. A guy that is trying his damn hardest to be good. A guy that’s trying to figure it all out. And I love you so much for that alone. You don’t expect anything from me, you aren’t afraid of me. For some reason you love me and I thank god I found you because you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. So when you found out you couldn’t walk and you looked so sad, I promised myself I’d spend the rest of my life doing everything I could to make you happy again. To prove to you that you’re so much more than a disability. But, yet again, you’ve managed to completely blow me away and surprise me with just how independent you are and just how much more I need you than you need me.”
You grabbed his chin and brought him down so you could give him a kiss. “I love you, James Buchanan Barnes.” You whispered against his lips before you kissed them again.

Black fabric mask secured over the lower half of his face,
Jungkook waits tensely in a coffee shop half a block from his family’s
penthouse. Its 2 minutes before noon, and his leg bounces nervously under the
table, his coffee already gone cold.
Managing to get a whole of 3 hours of sleep the night prior,
still too bothered with the thought of you potentially being in trouble to be
able to get some shut eye, Jungkook had slipped out of the house early that
morning, requesting his regular chauffeur to take him to campus a tad sooner
than usual. The driver had complied, toting him half way across the city to the
usual spot where Jungkook was dropped off and picked up. Jungkook then left as
usual, walking towards his building, but this time he had no plan on going to
class. As soon as the Jeon heir was far enough from the car which had dropped
him off, he ducked into a building and watched through the old, clouded windows
for the car to leave. It took a few seconds, his driver likely confused as to
why Jungkook was going into that building when he usually didn’t, but luckily a
car wanting to get by honked in slight anger, and the chauffer immediately
placed the car in drive and coasted away as if nothing had happened.
Sighing thankfully to the impatient college driver who had
honked, Jungkook waits in the building for a few long minutes. He wants to be
perfectly sure that his car won’t circle back around to look for him, and when
5 minutes pass and there’s no sign of his chauffeur, Jungkook determines that
Nodding to himself, determination for what he now has to do
settling in his gut, Jungkook shrugs his book bag off his shoulder, unzipping
the main pouch. Today his normal folders and notebooks are nowhere to be found,
replaced by a spare coat, hat, and a mask. Jungkook knows that his father has
men stationed all over the city—maybe not on the lookout for him, since as far
as they know nothing out of the ordinary is going on—but Jungkook won’t risk
anything. It seems to him that his father is currently scheming with Taehyung
against Namjoon, judging by the small amount of their conversation he had
overheard last night, but Jungkook needs Namjoon by his side. He needs
Namjoon’s friendship because right now Namjoon holds all the information
Jungkook wants to know about you. And…more so…Namjoon truly isn’t too bad of a
guy, in Jungkook’s eyes—better than his father, at least—and Jungkook doesn’t
feel well knowing that his family is possibly working to…hurt Namjoon in some
So, changing his jacket, hiding his face behind a plain back
mask, and tucking his hair beneath a dark blue hat, Jungkook had left the
building he’d taken refuge in, walking back into the city. He didn’t want to
risk a taxi or a bus, so he had braved the chilling winds and had walked the crowded
streets of Seoul. After nearly 40 minutes he finally arrived at the café
Namjoon had requested he wait at—the brief text containing the location
arriving at just shy of 5am that morning.
And now here he is, Jeon Jungkook, eyes boring into the watch
on his wrist, the second hand ticking past the 12 mark, officially meaning that
it was noon. His leg continued to bounce with nervous energy, hand reaching
into his pocket to check his cellphone, and as soon as the device is in his
hand, it buzzes, a new text message lighting up the screen.
I’m stopped behind a
bus at the light outside the coffee shop. Come now.
Reading the words with unsteady concentration, Jungkook
quickly stands, bumping into the table as he reaches for his backpack and heads
outside. Not bothering to correctly zip up his coat, the cold air immediately
soaking into his skin, Jungkook glances both ways down the congested street,
breaking into a jog when he spots the bus a little ways up the sidewalk, a
black car with tinted windows momentarily stalled behind it.
As he approaches the car, his feet suddenly falter as he
realizes that he’s currently putting himself in danger. He has no clue what’s
going on right now—who he can trust and who might be hiding in the city ready
to hurt him. As a Jeon he had been targeted before. Once or twice, but nothing
serious. A kidnapping attempt here or there by people desperate to use him as
ransom in return for monetary repayment from his father, but all attempts had
been thwarted by family men—faint screams ringing in Jungkook’s ears, but he
hadn’t put all the pieces together until he’d gotten a bit older.
Yet, despite the danger, Jungkook regains his stride,
especially when the light in front of the bus turns green, the tinted car
honking urgently. He can’t stall for much longer, and Jungkook rushes forward,
pulling open the passenger door, grateful to see Namjoon occupying the driver
“Christ kid, hurry it up,” Namjoon sighs as he steps on the
gas, following behind the bus. Jungkook rolls his eyes, dropping his bag on the
floor between his feet.
“You could have actually stopped somewhere to wait.”
“I could have, but everything feels risky nowadays,” Namjoon
mumbles, eyes casting to the side. Jungkook can immediately tell how tired the
older male is, dark bags hanging under his eyes, unkempt facial hair prickling
his chin and upper lip.
“Hyung…,” Jungkook says, voice sympathetic yet serious. His
eyes harden, heart steeling as he shifts to face Namjoon. “What’s going on?
Please, you need to tell me…”
“The other day–,” Namjoon starts after a moment of
hesitation, knuckles turning white around the steering wheel. “Y/N came over. I
was trying to make things right after
everything that had been happening. It went well, really well…,” he says with
fondness, his defenses momentarily dropping, but as he continues recounting
what had occurred Jungkook sees his body curl in on itself, anger staining his
“I got a call that morning from a client. Left Y/N to sleep
because I figured I’d be right back…I asked Yoongi to check on her. He…,”
Namjoon takes a moment to calm himself, throat tight, adam’s apple bobbing. “He
got there and saw Y/N in Jimin’s car. Jimin somehow got into my apartment and
took her. Yoongi gave chase, but…”
Stopped at another red light, Namjoon slams his fist on the
dashboard, and Jungkook winces, heart sinking into his stomach.
“She’s gone?” the younger whispers, hands laying stiffly in
his lap. Namjoon bites his lip, trying his best not to give into all the dark
thoughts lurking in his mind.
“She is—but I’ve got people looking for her. We’re going to
get her back, Kookie–,” reaching over, Namjoon places his hand on Jungkook’s
knee and the younger startles, immediately batting Namjoon’s hand away, his
eyes filled with rage. However, when Jungkook sees the hurt and pain on
Namjoon’s face, that spark of anger dies, and he hunches over, pressing his
palms to his face.
“I know this isn’t your fault, hyung…I’m sorry. I just—”
“You can blame me if it makes it easier,” Namjoon responds, dead
eyes tracking the road. Jungkook shakes his head, taking a deep breath as he
pushes any potential tears back into their sockets.
“I won’t blame you. I can tell that you’ve changed, Namjoon
hyung. You care for Y/N, and I can tell this isn’t easy for you, so I’m sorry I
reacted like that, I just…she’s my friend, you know?” Jungkook says quietly,
loosely hugging his arms to his chest. “I don’t have many, and none else like
her, considering father’s—”
“Right, your father,” Namjoon interrupts, suddenly remembering
the reason he’d had to call Jungkook out in public to meet like this.
Jungkook’s eyes widen as well, and the two males stare at each other,
“Right, right—my dad!” Jungkook recalls, eyes searching his
lap as he tries to remember everything he had overheard the night before. “I—last
night a guy named V showed up at our door. He told me to call him—”
“Taehyung,” Namjoon growls, swerving into a small parking
lot and shifting the car into P. He can’t trust himself to continue driving
calmly when he’s got all this shit on his mind—and Taehyung is not helping. Especially after he’d
touched you…and now he’s apparently making ties with Jungkook’s father, which
“Yeah,” Jungkook nods, biting his bottom lip with his teeth,
his eyebrows furrowing. Last night he hadn’t been able to recall where he’d
heard the name before, but pairing it with Namjoon’s reaction…
“Is that they guy who hurt Y/N? At the club?”
“Yeah,” Namjoon sighs, fingers coasting through his messy
hair. Jungkook scowls.
“Right…now that I think about it, it makes sense. The guy
was such a goddamn flirt—even with me—”
“Taehyung is very…open,” Namjoon says cautiously, and then
shakes his head, getting back to the situation at hand. “What did he say to
“I went looking around last night because one of our maids
broke a glass, and on my way back to my room I overheard my father and Taehyung
talking. They…said something about…,” he furrows his eyebrows, trying to recall
the faint words he’d managed to pick up on. “They mentioned a girl, your name,
bait, and a ball next week. They–! They said something about another man, and
how my father was glad he had trusted Taehyung’s friend, Jimin…”
Namjoon groans, palms dragging down his face. “Fuck–! I forgot that Taehyung and Jimin are friends, those little
“…the person who took Y/N from your apartment—you…said his
name was Jimin, right?”
“Yeah,” Namjoon grits, palms pressing into his straining
eyes. “Yeah, it was Jimin. And if Taehyung got Jimin to do his dirty work and
kidnap Y/N, and Taehyung is suddenly your dad’s best friend, then…”
The car falls silent, and Jungkook and Namjoon’s eyes meet.
If Taehyung and Jungkook’s father are working together
against Namjoon, then—
Jungkook sees the flash of distrust that momentarily passes
through Namjoon’s eyes, and while Namjoon and Jungkook have never truly been
friends, the younger’s heart aches.
“Hyung—Namjoon hyung I promise I’m not against you, please,”
Jungkook says, leaning over to rest his hand on Namjoon’s thigh. He can feel
Namjoon’s muscles stiffen beneath him, but his face gives away nothing.
