  • [scaling the kitchen counter to reach something on a high shelf] pidge, softly: “parkour”
The 9 Elements of a VILLAIN

If we’re being honest, one character is always the most fun to develop when you’re writing a new story. It must be the main character, right? The person you’re going to follow throughout the story, the one that means the most to you?

Nope. It’s the villain.

Villains are just FUN. You get to creep into the darkest corners of your writer brain and conjure up the most unashamedly detestable human being you possibly can.

This is how we look when we begin creating a villain.

But sometimes, it can be difficult to to make sure they’re fully believable humans. So here are the nine elements that have helped me out when developing these terrible people …

1) Hero’s Shadow:

The relationship between the main character and the villain is the most important one in the story, because it is the source of all conflict. Without the villain causing trouble, the main character wouldn’t have the chance to be a hero. Without that trouble, the main character’s weaknesses wouldn’t be pressured, which means they couldn’t change. The villain is a condensed and magnified embodiment of the inner weakness that the hero is battling. They’re the SHADOW of hero, the example of what will happen if the main character goes down the wrong path. Both are facing the same problem in different ways. For example Darth Vader and Luke.

2) Conflict Strategy:

In the pursuit of stopping the hero from achieving their goal, the villain is going to attack them on 1) a personal relationship level 2) a societal level and 3) an inner level. They’re going to attack the people around them, they’re going to cause consequences for the community surrounding them, they’re going to get into their head and plague them. Because the hallmark of a villain is that they’re the person who’s perfectly suited to attack the hero’s greatest weakness. Villains should have a distinct set of tactics to destroy the main character, on at least two levels.

3) Flaws:

This one’s expected. Of course a villain has flaws, it’s in the job description. But flaws do not equate to ‘He kicks turtles every morning before breakfast’ or 'His favorite hobby is butterfly stomping’ or, more within the realm of possibility, “He wants to kill the hero”. These are evil actions, NOT flaws. A lot of villains, particularly in movies, will be given horrible things to do without any explanation for WHY they do them. And it’s pretty easy to give them reasons: just give them human weaknesses! That’s it. Whether the actions they take are as small as theft or as big as blowing up a planet, these actions stem from recognizable HUMAN FLAWS. So like a main character, a villain needs mental and moral flaws.

Yup, even Maleficent has human flaws. And she’s a dragon part of the time.

4) Counter Goal:

All characters exist because they want something. And what do villains want? To get whatever the main character wants (for very different reasons), to stop them from reaching their goal, or another goal that directly conflicts with the hero’s goal. As long as that big tangible thing they want locks hero and villain in battle, you’re good. Think 101 Dalmatians: Cruella and the good guys are fighting over the puppies.

5) Surface Motivations:

Why is it that villains always have a team of followers? Because villains never outright state their true motivations. They always have a cover story, and that cover will paint them as righteous. Villains want to look like the good guy. So their real Hidden Motivations are defended by twisting perceptions of Good & Evil, by portraying evil acts in a positive light, by indulging their followers selfish emotions and desire to feel like “one of the good guys. "

Take Gothel for example: she’s a loving mother who wants to protect her daughter from all the world’s darkness. (Sure you do, Flynn stabber.)

Surface Motivations never stand up to logical scrutiny and a functioning moral compass, but giving your bad guy a compelling argument against your good side always makes things more interesting, which brings us to …

6) Counter Statement:

The main character needs to learn some kind of truth that will enable them to fix their lives, overcome their weaknesses, banish their ghosts. It’s whatever statement about "how to live a better life” you want to prove with your story. Your villain has other ideas. They don’t agree with that statement, have other beliefs about living life well, and represent an argument against it. For example, Voldemort: “there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it."

Although your argument isn’t very convincing, Voldy. I mean, you’re living in the back of some guy’s head.

7) Characterization:

This is everything on the surface of the villain. The way they speak, the way they look, the way they act, their role in life, their status and power. This is the facade they project for the world to see, a calculated effort to control how they are perceived. This is closely connected to that surface want, because that surface is what they wish people to believe about them. Over time, the reader and the other characters are going to be able to see through this mask and see what it conceals. My favorite Disney example of this is Mother Gothel: on the surface she’s this bubbly mom who loves Rapunzel and wants to protect her from the harshness of the world.

You can think of this as the text …

8) Hidden Motivation:

And this is the subtext. That surface motivation they want the world to believe is a mask concealing their true motivation, which is always rooted in their flaws,  selfishness, and skewed beliefs.

9) Ghosts, Justification, Self-Obsession:

These three are closely related, so they get counted together.
Like main characters, villains have GHOSTS: events from their backstories that knocked their worldviews out of alignment, that marked the beginning of their weaknesses, that haunt them still. Because these happened, the originally benign person allowed themselves to turn into someone who could occupy the job of "villain” in a story. Usually, these events are genuine misfortunes and are worthy of sympathy, just like the ghosts of a main character. Think of Voldemort growing up in an orphanage talking to snakes.

BUT! When it comes to ghosts, the major difference between a hero and a villain is HOW THEY DEAL with these unpleasant past events. Both have suffered, but react to suffering in very different ways. A villain will be consumed by these events, obsessed with the real (or imagined) persecution or disadvantage they’ve endured, convinced that all personal responsibility is nullified by their status of injured party. Past tragedies become a talisman that grants immunity from decency.

This scene from A Series of Unfortunate Events sums it up.  An adult makes an excuse for a terrible person by saying he had a terrible childhood. And Klaus replies:

Yes, maybe they’ve both lived through tragedy. But THE KIDS aren’t hurting others because of it.

Because villains, who are constantly victimizing heroes, are completely convinced that THEY are the true victims here. No matter what they do, no matter what they are, they blame everything on that ghost, whether it was another person, society, or circumstances. And later they blame the hero, who they see as the REAL villain. For example, Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame:

“It’s not my fault, I’m not to blame”

So! WHY are villains like this?

SELF-OBSESSION! Yup, villains spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about themselves and their plights and their plots. Think of any villain and it’s not hard to see the inherent narcissism behind everything they do. Like willingness to take action is the nonnegotiable trait of a main character, self-obsession is the trait that all villains seem to share.

So! Developing villains in this way has worked out for me so far. If it looks like it might be helpful for you, give it a try.

And in the spirit of creating someone to torment our main characters and ruin their lives, here’s one more maniacal laugh for the road:

Everyone in the world is given a red button that’s linked to a main counter. Every time the counter reaches 1000, someone in the world is randomly killed among all those who didn’t press (for that round only). Everyone knows these rules. You try to convince people to stop clicking the button.

Stay  ~Jeff Atkins x Reader~

There’s something beautiful about the summer- they way it creates a new version of reality where music sounds better and happiness feels sweeter. Parties can give the same kind of feeling where nothing feels real, but all of it feels great. Well, until the next morning.

This makes an end of the summer party the pinnacle of a new reality. Inhibitions run low and everything else is on overdrive. In a week they will all be students again, studying to ensure the best future possible. But for tonight they are 60% alcohol and 40% bad decisions.

“Y/N!” Jess squeals with excitement, running towards the girl who just entered the room. She had been away visiting family abroad for the majority of the summer, and while the beaches had given a whole new meaning to the word ‘paradise’, this was where she was truly happiest.

“Jess!” she returns the enthusiasm, hugging her best friend tightly. The warm breezes that blew in through her window every morning this past summer brought her comfort, but this was home.

“I want in,” Justin grins, approaching the two and enveloping them between his arms.

“God I’ve missed you guys,” she sighs contentedly.

“You have so much third wheeling to catch up on,” Jess teases light heartedly.

Her face twists up unpleasantly at the thought. She loves both Jess and Justin dearly, but she does not love the thought of third wheeling. “With all due respect, I think I’ll pass.”

“Is that Y/N Y/L/N?!” a fourth voice enters the picture, causing the trio to part and turn towards the person walking towards them.

Jeff Atkins. Baseball star and literal ray of sunshine with the face of an angel and the body of a Greek God.

“Hey, Jeff,” she laughs, walking away from Jess and Justin to meet him halfway.

“I haven’t seen you in forever,” Jeff grins warmly, brushing her arm with his hand. It’s a sweet gesture. He’s always been so sweet.

“It’s only been like two months,” she mirrors his grin. It’s impossible not to smile back at someone who radiates warmth the way he does.

“Feels like forever though. Especially since I was used to seeing you everyday at school. You look nice by the way,” he bumps her shoulder.

“I missed you, too,” she chuckles, “I look like I always do.”

“Exactly.”

She bites her lips together before looking down shyly and letting them fall apart into a smile. Jeff Atkins was so genuinely good in a way that was uniquely him.

“Jeff!” Troy yells from the outside patio, “Beer pong, now, c’mon man!”

“Coming!” Jeff yells back to Troy, but turns back to her before walking away. “Come watch us play? You can practice cheering me on for baseball season,” his mouth twists into a smirk.

“Who says I’m gonna come to your baseball games?” She challenges playfully, using quick wit to redeem herself from the shy smile.

“Don’t break my heart, Y/N,” he pouts childishly, walking backward to join the boys for a game of beer pong but not breaking eye contact with her. He finally turns away from her to exit the house and join those outside, but not before mouthing a “pleaasssseeee” and sticking out his bottom lip.

“I’ll be there in a second!” she yells so he can hear her over the music.

His pout transforms into a grin before he disappears through the threshold, indicating that he heard her.

“So how about a double date instead of third wheeling?” Justin and Jess approach her with Justin wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

“Oh shut up,” her face heats up at the thought, “He’s a nice guy. He’s friendly with everyone.”

“Yeah, but he doesn’t flirt with everyone,” Jess interjects, crossing her arms over her chest vindictively.

“He didn’t ask me to cheer for him,” Justin fakes offense, “Honestly I’m a little hurt.”

“Fuck off, Justin,” she laughs loudly, putting her hands over her face.

“You better get out there,” Justin presses, gesturing to the sliding door, “After all, it’s mine and Jess’s two month anniversary so an intense make-out session could happen at anytime.”

“Bye!” she turns on her heels quickly, running away from her friends before they could make things awkward, or more awkward.

***
Five cups of jungle juice and two games of beer pong later she’s sitting on a folding lawn chair watching Jeff singlehandedly win a third game of beer pong since Troy had wandered off and was bothering Hannah and Clay.

After sinking another shot, Jeff notices where Troy had gone. A brief look of panic flashes across his face before he mutters a quick, “be right back!”, making a beeline for Troy. Jeff was just about as invested in Clay and Hannah as Clay was in Hannah. She wondered just how much better off the world would be if everyone had the same heart as Jeff.

“Did you save the day?” she asks upon Jeff’s return. She’s quite drunk and seeing two of everything, including two Jeffs. How wonderful would that be? A world with two Jeff Atkins. Incredible.

“I don’t know about that,” he chuckles modestly, “It’s up to Clay.”

“Meanwhile that beer run is up to you, buddy” Troy points out, his words slurring together.

“Later man,” Jeff replies, picking up a ping pong ball.

“Because you definitely need more alcohol,” she rolls her eyes at Troy, a sick feeling blossoming in her stomach.

“Don’t be a buzzkill, Y/N,” Troy retorts.

“Hey, relax,” Jeff snaps at Troy, “you’ll get your beer.”

The sick feeling in her stomach intensifies tenfold. She doesn’t want him to go, but she can’t beg him to stay. He’s not drunk, he would never jeopardize his life or anyone else’s so recklessly. But something about it still doesn’t feel right. He shouldn’t go.

She stands up, wobbling slightly. She grabs the back of her lawn chair to steady herself before heading back for the house. The twisting in her stomach is ominous in a way that refuses to be ignored.

“Where’re you going?” Jeff asks, his eyebrows knitting together.

“I need another drink,” she mumbles, brushing past him.

***
Three shots and a game of suck and blow later she’s feeling light and airy. All the anxiety from earlier has been replaced with a tingling feeling that reaches her feet. She’s quite hammered, and all the slip ups in suck and blow have her laughing and her sides aching. She’s starting to get lightheaded.

“I’m gonna go get some air,” she gasps in-between fits of laughter.

“Can you even walk?” Jess giggles.

“I’ll crawl if I have to,” she shrugs, stumbling her way out the door.

***
There’s nothing like the refreshing sensation of cool air hitting your skin after being cooped up in a house full of drunks, especially when you’re drunk yourself. The feeling of a breeze on her face is intoxicating in its own right, so she continues to walk around the outside of the house until she reaches the front.

There’s someone else at the front of the house, too. She can only see their back as they walk towards the row of cars, but she knows who it is. Suddenly she remembers why she felt the need to down three shots of vodka.

“Atkins,” she calls out, stumbling a bit as she walks forward.

He turns around at the sound of his name, smiling when he sees who it is. “Hey, you. Looks like you got that drink you wanted,” he laughs lightheartedly at her shaky balance.

“You making that beer run?” she asks, wringing her hands together nervously.

“Yeah. I’m not even a little buzzed, don’t worry,” he says soothingly.

“Stay,” she says softly.

“Huh?” he tilts his head to the side.

She continues to walk forward until she’s standing right in front of him, her weight falling to the side enough to make her falter. He reaches out to steady her, keeping a firm grasp on her side. She places her hands on his chest to steady herself before locking her eyes on his.

“Stay,” she repeats.

“Y/N, it’s okay I’m completely fine I promise. I only had two beers like two hours ago,” he assures, his voice gentle.

“I know, but it’s not like anybody needs anymore alcohol. I’m one of the more sober ones right now and that says a lot. Honestly I don’t even know how I made it out here on my own,” she sighs, “Just stay, please. ”

He looks at her softly, his eyes studying the worry etched onto her face. She feels so delicate in his grasp, like a porcelain doll that could shatter with too much pressure. He has always been enamored with her.

“Okay,” he moves his hands to hold her face, “I’ll stay.”

She lets out a heavy breath, letting her forehead rest against his chest and wrapping her arms around him. Maybe she was worrying over nothing, maybe she wasn’t, but she’s unexplainably relieved at those words.

“You gotta promise to watch me play baseball though,” he teases.

“I’ll be there every game with a sign that has your name on it,” she laughs, tilting her chin up to look at him.

“You gotta stop looking at me like that,” he shakes his head,“I might just fall in love with you.”

“Don’t get my hopes up.”

“Don’t leave for two months at a time,” he counters, grinning boyishly.

“I’d stay right here forever if I could,” she tightens her arms around him.

“I’d kiss you if you weren’t like 10 drinks deep right now,” he laughs, rubbing her back gingerly.

“Let’s go inside. I need to get sober. Right now. Immediately,” she pulls away, grabbing his hand to tow him behind her. Their laughter echoes down the empty street as they run around to the back of the house.

There’s something beautiful about the end of summer- the way things begin to feel more permanent. A simple request can change so much. All he had to do was stay. And he did.

now that i’ve begun working more with energy, i wanted to share my methods of casting circles! when i first started working with energy, it was really hard to find references for casting circles, especially ones not dealing with the traditional Wiccan god/goddess. here are some methods and uses of casting circles!

Why Cast a Circle?

the primary reason i cast circles is to protect me from outside energy influences. most people associate circles to protection from ‘malevolent’ spirits, however, it’s just a great barrier in general!

here are some following scenarios i cast circles:

  • divination- to protect me from energies that might influence my cards or my interpretation o the cards
  • spellwork- pretty self-explanatory. i cast circles to protect from energies i don’t want in my spells, or from potential spirit attraction.
  • meditation- again, for energy use and to also not be disturbed from anything spiritual.

Methods of Casting

1 - Invoking Elements

a very basic way, if not the go-to way, of casting is to place each of the four elements at each of the cardinal directions. Earth at the north, Air in the east, Fire at the south, and Water in the west.

fire

water

earth

  • stones or crystals (this is what i love to use! just be wary that some stones are aligned with other elements. clear quartz is a go-to.)
  • salt
  • dirt (from your backyard or specific, such as hospital or graveyard. make sure to cleanse it.)
  • herbs (especially roots)
  • brown or black colored items

air

alternatively, any of these could be replaced with a tarot card of the corresponding suit! (wands for fire, cups for water, pentacles for earth, and swords for air).

to close the circle, walk clockwise starting in the east (air) and complete a full walk around the circle. do this as many times as you feel needed to envision a complete circle! after your use for it is done, unwind it by walking the same number of times counter-clockwise.

note: if you live in the southern hemisphere, you may want to reverse fire and earth in your directions and walk counter-clockwise to close the circle, and clockwise to end it.

2 - Envisioning

this is a very, very simple way to cast a circle! if you have very little time, simply imagine a ring of light around your workspace. you could align color to purpose as well.

the only downsides to this method include the fact that it may not be as strong as a physical circle for beginners especially, as i have learned many times over as i find energy that i don’t want in the circle. on top of this, to make it very successful, you may have to keep this image in your head throughout your spell or energy work, which may distract or hurt your concentration.

however, like i said before, it’s very easy, discreet, and requires no clean up! with practice, it could be very easy to maintain.

3 - Salt Circle

by simply spreading salt in a circle clockwise (or counter-clockwise depending on your location), you can create a strong barrier. as you walk around, envision your purpose of protection and safety.

if you are working outside, do not use salt. it will kill plant life! instead, consider alternatives such as: egg shells, diluted salt water, crushed herbs, flower petals, etc.

if working inside, consider setting out foil, cloth, or a tarp for easy cleanup.

4 - Cleansing the Room Itself

if you find that you for some reason cannot cast a circle, or maybe are just starting out, consider cleansing the entire room instead!

some methods include:

  • smoke cleansing (NOT smudging. please do not call this action smudging unless it is part of YOUR culture.)
  • salt or protective mixture
  • dance/song
  • salt/water spray
  • incense and candles

for smoke cleansing, light your bundle and start facing eastward, spreading the smoke and asking for protection from either the corresponding element or any deities/spirits/etc. you worship. move clockwise or counterclockwise.

for salt or protection mixtures, simply place a small pile in each corner of the room or at the cardinal directions.

dance and song can celanse the room when accompanied with smoke especially.

the salt water spray can be used similar to the protection mixture – spray a little in each corner or at the cardinal directions.

incense and candles can be placed in corners, the directions, or just throughout the room to act as protective energy.

Final Notes

  • make sure to remove your circle after you’re done!! leaving it up isn’t safe and could be draining on your energy or health.
  • try not to leave the circle in the middle of your work, if it can be avoided. ive had to do it before and nothing bad happened, but sometimes it ocould break the circle, or bring unwanted energy or precense in.
  • do your absolute best to have all your materials in the circle before you cast it. bringing items that were not in the circle before could carry energy that you just do not want in your circle. i’ve messed up plenty spells because of it already. if it is really necessary, cleanse the item as thoroughly as you can (quickly if you need to), and enter the circle from the east.

if these methods don’t work right away, don’t worry! these take lots of practice. some easy ways to try casting daily include:

  • cast a circle before you meditate
  • cleanse your room before you do homework for a safe space to work
  • if you have a form of divination, cast a circle before drawing a daily reading (i do this in the morning to see how the day will go or seek advice for the day!).

good luck!

Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Inferno - Reggie Mantle x Reader Imagine

Warnings: Some swearing, some yelling

Request by @stevrgers:  hey could I request an imagine where the reader has a thing with reggie but it’s super lowkey and reggie wants to keep it that way because he wants to keep her out of the playbook (cause he really cares for her) but the reader perceives his secrecy of their relationship as him being embarrassed to be seen with her by his friends/the school and reader gets upset & reggie is torn cause he wants to tell her about the book but also doesn’t want to get in trouble by the team for exposing their secret

Hope you enjoy it! I’m sorry if it seems a little disjointed. I tried to jam so much into it and it got so long (almost six pages on Word), but here you are!

Keep reading

Also, I feel this is semi-worthy of pointing out. In Paper Mario Dan mentions that he thinks Vivian the ghost/witch is cute/hot. It’s a few minutes later that Arin brings up that in the Japanese version of the game that Vivian is a trans girl and mentioned to Dan that Vivian was born a boy.

Dan had a mild reaction to this and it wasn’t spun into anything weird or strange about how he had found Vivian attractive. I just thought that was a good and solid moment of growth for Dan tbh.

I’m starting to be seriously impressed by the structure of Milo Murphy’s Law. Because it’s becoming clearer that it’s structured around a season arc, rather than an episode-by-episode arc. This wouldn’t be impressive–it’s the go-to structure in the Netflix era, after all–except that this is a series of 11-minute absurd cartoons, not a series of intense 45-minute drama episodes.

In a drama, the season arc becomes clear very early on, and you expect certain threads to build to a big show-down in the last episode of the season. But with Milo, you expect 11 minutes of random humor. The show is so unpredictable and off-the-wall, everything looks like a one-off joke. So when some of those running jokes start to thread together and affect the plot, it comes as a delightful surprise.

For example: The “Mr. Draco might be a vampire” bit from “Athledecamathalon” looked like a random running joke that didn’t affect the rest of the episode. Then the joke ran into a couple of other episodes (on rewatch, I found out that Mr. Draco showed up in “Career Day” as well–the running joke was running before we realized it had started).

Then in “School Dance”, the off-the-wall running joke unexpectedly runs headfirst into the one clear plot arc of the season–the time-traveling pistachio protectors. The kids defend their teacher from what they think are vampire hunters. The time travelers interpret the incident as proof that Milo’s a pistachio-hating time-traveling counter-agent. The silly running joke has suddenly steered the plot into a whole new direction.

It’s delightful. And it’s all the more effective because the low-key, laid-back weirdness of the show lulls you into going along for the ride and not looking for the connections. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here–but I’m not going to start making predictions. The show’s design makes it more fun to go with the flow and see what happens.

Haunting Me (Chap. 5)

Haunting Me: Y/N is a normal young adult living in New York, but little does she know that she’s a reincarnation of the long lost Bucky Barnes’ fiance from the 1940′s. What happens when she runs into Steve in 2012? Most importantly, what happens when she runs into The Winter Soldier?

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x POC Reader

Warnings: Mentions of racism. Flashbacks. Angst.

Since the little occurrence at the motel twenty four hours ago, you’ve been held in the Stark tower and interrogated by Alexander Pierce himself. He was convinced that you were working with Bucky and conspiring with him on multiple terrorist attacks, which was highly untrue. You had a perfectly clean record; you hadn’t even missed a single day of school until now, so the thought of you having anything to do with The Winter Soldier and Hydra was complete bullshit according to Nick Fury.

He was there the entire time as well, countering every little accusation that Pierce threw at you with hard facts. Every attack that had happened in the last few months happened while you were seeing by numerous people on the other side of the city. Hell, even your professor confirmed your whereabouts on those dates, but that didn’t stop Pierce from threatening you.

“I think we’re forgetting that she was kidnapped,” Fury spoke as he crossed his arms. “And held hostage for an entire day and a half. There were multiple witnesses that saw him not only chasing her, but abducting her as well.”

“Which is why I believe she knows something,” Pierce countered, peering over at you with a frustrated scowl. “Why on earth would Hydra’s top assassin go absolutely haywire and kidnap this random woman? Why her? What made him act that way?”

You rolled your eyes and took another sip of your coffee. You were beyond exhausted and wanted nothing more than to crawl into your bed and sleep forever. You hoped and prayed that Bucky would magically appear in your apartment, but you knew the chances were slim to none.

“Can I leave now?” you asked, your eyes staring at the metal table below you.

“No,” Pierce spoke briefly, before standing from the chair. Without another word, he left the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

“Look, kid,” Fury sighed as he sat in the empty chair across from you. He rubbed his temples with his fingertips. “Did the guy mention anything to you? Where he was going or anything like that?”

You shook your head, feeling the familiar burn of tears threating to form in your eyes. “No,” you answered, swallowing the lump in your throat. He didn’t mention anything. You both were pretty preoccupied before Steve popped up, but you completely left those intimate parts out. You didn’t exactly fancy talking about your sexual escapades with random people.

“Alright,” he nodded, giving you a tight smile as he stood from the chair. “We’re gonna have you fill out some paperwork and you’ll be on your way. I’ll send Rogers in here; he’s dying to talk to you.”

You nodded, giving him a small smile. However, on the inside, you were screaming. You had so many bones to pick with Steve at the moment; you wanted all of your questions answered immediately.

A few minutes after Fury excused himself, the door squeaked open and you heard the familiar sound of a shield being set down against the floor. The sound of a chair scraping against the floor filled the room, followed by a deep sigh.

“Did you know?” you asked, avoiding his eyes.

After a long, pregnant pause he answered.

“Yes.”

“How long?” you demanded.

“The entire time,” he admitted, his eyes filled with sadness. You scoffed.

“You knew me,” you confirmed. “The old me. Jane.”

Steve’s eyes lit up as soon as he heard the name fell from your lips. He nodded once again, sniffling softly. You looked over at him, expecting him to be in tears of sadness, but instead, you found him smiling. You looked down at the manila folder in his hands curiously, your eyes flickering back to him.

“What’s that?” you asked warily.

Steve placed the folder down on the table and gently slid it towards you.

“It’s your life, Y/N.” He replied. You inhaled deeply as you opened the folder.

Inside there was a giant older photo of you, smiling brightly. It looked as though it was taken in one of those old school photo booths from the Coney Island carnivals. Your hair was curled in the typical 1940’s fashion, your lips dark with the red lipstick you always wore. Your dress was a deep red with little white polka dots. Beside you was Bucky. He grinned that same dorky grin from your memory as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and leaned his head against yours. He looked so happy and full of life.

You both did.

“What happened to me?” you asked, feeling the tears run down your cheeks.

“In 1943, you were diagnosed with lung cancer from second hand smoke. You died six months later.” Steve replied, blinking away his own tears that threatened to fall.

The next photo was one of the three of you. Steve was in the middle, with you and Bucky on either sides of him, holding up what looked to be a birthday cake. You let out a small laugh at the sight of tiny, pre-serum Steve with a party hat perched on his head. The three of you looked as though you were laughing hysterically, enjoying each other’s company.

You flipped over to the third photo, which was a black and white picture. It was taken at the beach this time. Only, instead of Bucky or Steve, your arm was wrapped around a very beautiful and much younger brunette and vice versa. She was holding a lollipop in her hand, her head resting on your shoulder as she grinned. You squinted as you took in her features. She was familiar, but not enough to ring any bells.

“Who is this?” you asked, picking the photo up.

“That’s Rebecca Barnes, Bucky’s younger sister.” Steve answered, smiling sheepishly. “That was taken on the day you both met for the first time. Bucky took the picture.”

You felt your head ache once again, and this time, you didn’t fight it.

1941

“Okay, dolls,” Bucky laughed as he peered into the camera and aimed it at the two of you. “Make sure you actually look this time, this film is expensive as hell.”

Usually, people didn’t lean in too close to you. They usually awkwardly stood beside as if they were forced by some invisible threat. No one liked taking pictures with colored people, and that instantly sent a wave of anxiety through you. But to your surprise, Rebecca scooted as close to you as possible and flung her arm over your shoulders. She rested her head on your shoulder and grinned.

You swore you felt your heart nearly fly out of your chest. Nevertheless, you found yourself smiling like an idiot at the camera.

“Okay you two,” he exclaimed. “On three!”

You both stood as still as possible as he pressed the button, causing the giant flash to temporarily blind you both. You giggled as you rubbed your eyes, trying to rid your sight of the little dark spots that swarmed your vision.

But just as you set your hands down, you felt Rebecca lean in close to your ear and cup her hands around her mouth, her eyes flickering over to Bucky as he fiddled with the camera.

“I’m so glad I met you, Jane!” she whispered with a smile. “I’ve always wanted a sister!”

“Y/N?” Steve repeated, this time his voice was a bit louder. You blinked, shaking your head.

“I remember!” you breathed, peering back up at a highly concerned Steve as he stared back at you in confusion. “She told me a secret that day.”

“I know,” Steve chuckled as he took the photo from your hand and stared down at it. “You wouldn’t stop talking about it for days. It took you an entire week for you to finally shut up.”

You both let out a laugh, a genuine laugh that held no type of ill feelings or nervousness.

2016

You found out a whole lot about yourself the past two years.

Your name was Jane Collins; you lived with your younger sister, June. You grew up in New York City with your family. You wanted to become an actress like your idol, Judy Garland. You absolutely loved polka dot dresses and worked at an ice cream shop named Lucy’s, where you met Bucky in 1939.

Out of all the things you couldn’t stand, you absolutely hated cigarettes. The mere smell of them made you automatically nauseous, which was so ironic, seeing as you ended up addicted to them in this life.

However, as you began regaining memories, you began to wonder if Y/N Y/L/N was even a real person anymore. Should you go by your new name in this life, or should you be Jane? You were so confused.

“Your life now is a fresh start,” Natasha told you one day as you both met for lunch. The sun shined down on her fiery red hair, giving you a perfect muse to draw later. “Sometimes it’s best to leave the past in the past.”

Those words struck you like a cord. She was right. As much as you wanted to be Jane for Steve, you weren’t that woman anymore. Sure, it would cause comfort for him, but you were you. You had to live in the moment and be who yourself.

Ever since you found out your true nature, Steve began bringing you around the tower more often. You quickly formed a friendship with everyone, especially Wanda, who was intrigued by your story the most. You began to think of the Avengers as a little second family.

You spent your days attending school, trying to focus on your career and your studies. But no matter what, your thoughts always went back to the same man, Bucky Barnes. Where was he? Was he safe? You prayed he was.

Natasha had tried to set you up with a few men here and there, but you found yourself denying them each time. It wasn’t out of spite or anything, you just…weren’t interested. Truth be told, you weren’t interested in anyone else than a certain brown haired super soldier. You knew it was childish, but you didn’t care anymore. You wanted to see him again, and if that meant waiting around like a crazy cat lady, so be it. Steve tried to tell you how unrealistic that was, but you only responded by raising your fuzzy sock covered foot and giving him a gentle kick to the face, sending him flying off your couch.

2017

You made your way up the final stair case in exhaustion. Your hands were occupied by your large, freshly dried canvas that you would be turning in for your final tomorrow. This would be your final project before graduation and you had to make sure it was perfect, even if that meant staying up until five am like you did the night before.

When you approached your door, fishing your keys out of your coat pocket, you froze.

Your door was open.

Sometimes, you tended to rush as you left and forgot simple things, but not once had you forgotten to lock your door –much less forgetting to close it. You gently pushed the door open, wincing as it squeaked loudly. That was the worst idea ever.

You peeked inside your darkened living room. Everything looked exactly the same; nothing was missing from what you could tell. You took a wary step into the room, setting your canvas down against the wall and pulling out your small stun gun that Tony had given you for your birthday this year.

You found it extremely odd that someone would break in, only to leave everything there and not take anything. You made your way into your bedroom, kicking the door open and peeking inside. Nothing. Not even the light was on. You turned around and made your way into the second room in your apartment, which was strictly used for your paintings.

Immediately, you began to panic. What if someone from school vandalized your paintings? You had an entire year’s worth of work in there; most of it was going into the gallery as well. You felt your heart race as you neared the door, which was slightly ajar. Completely not how you left it.  With a deep breath, you opened the door.

And you felt your heart drop into your stomach.

“W-What the fuck?” you breathed, your eyes filling with tears.

You watched as a very normal Bucky Barnes turned around and looked into your eyes. Instead of the cold, dead ones you came in contact with two years ago, you were faced with two lively, ocean blue orbs. They were beautiful, even more than you remembered.

“Hello, Y/N,” he spoke, his eyes staring into yours.

You blinked, unable to form any coherent sentences.

“Bucky?”

Hello everybirdie :3

I think it’s time for one more masterpost about Virgo, maybe the last one before launching the demo, if everything runs smoothly until then!

I’ll show you some more about the Zodiac Realms system and more in depth info on battle system! I’ll also talk a little about my considerations in regards of a crowdfunding campaign in the near future for Virgo!

In Virgo you will travel through multiple worlds with vastly different enviroments to explore, each owned by a different Zodiac Sign. Each realm will be themed by the characteristics of their ruling sign. The main quest of Virgo is very clear: You have to dethrone all of the other Zodiacs, but as you go along the areas, Virgo will see herself amidst different paths and side quests, that will somewhat change her vision of this world around her, since she never really had a direct connection with (almost) any of the Zodiacs as she’s experiencing now by visiting their realms.

You can interact with almost anything on the game, except for trees - they aren’t friendly. Sometimes interactions may present you with choices for different actions that may change your path as you go.

Stat points can also be earned through interaction with the enviroment and characters. There will be plenty of situations in which the player must make a choice that not only will impact the story, but also Virgo’s statistic growth. Maybe forcing your way into a roadblock will raise your Ambition while waiting for it to be cleared will raise Patience. Several stat-checks will also be present, enabling some secret areas and rewards for different player builds~

This will affect the whole playthrough. Items received can be different and even the responses to the environment, as you may trigger specific events.

Players will progress from world to world, all connected to a Hub area, which will often be filled with NPCs you’ve encountered in the areas previously visited, so it’s possible to find Salarygoats there, for example.

Zodiac Realms may be revisited once they’re completed and each will feature its specific Black Hole Zone - the only places where Heretics respawn endlessly for optional bonus experience, currency and special rewards. The game will be perfectly winnable without spending time on these arena-like zones, though, so if you absurdly despise grinding, you don’t have to go there.

Virgo’s combat system is designed around making every turn very significant. From guarding when enemies will most probably strike you with all they’ve got to removing their buffs at the right time to not get countered and abusing their weakness through skill combos, the core philosophy is to give meaning to every single action and mechanic.

Buffs should be drastically noticeable, enemies will fight with their own varied intelligence so that players won’t ever find a single optimal strategy for the whole game.

Virgo will be the only playable character, but think of it as a plus, as the story and every enemy will be personally designed for her, giving a lot more meaning to all of your actions throughout the game.

(Look, it’s Musashi!)

Every single fight is made to test the player’s skills and tactical thinking, with a focus on in-conflict demands and results, as opposed to having dungeons with dozens of easy battles that just matter to wear down the characters slowly so they must manage their resources over time.

In Virgo, Purity (the resource used to cast abilities) regenerates naturally in battle and outside of it and items are significantly powerful, but can only be carried in very limited amounts, to assure a per-conflict danger.

A battle against a very tough foe can’t just be brute-forced through by spamming Attack 35 times and using 56 Potions, but a smart use of skills available as well as taking advantage of special items to inflict status effects on foes.

Skills and abilities are earned through equipment; items will often give Virgo a new ability in addition to stats and passive effects. Players are encouraged to mix and match pieces of equipment to create various skill combos, such as combining a Shield’s risky Block-chance Buff (that works at the cost of armor) to a Ribbon’s Blinding Spell to minimize the downsides of the first buff.

I think the development of the game untill now is doing really great! Now I’m in a critical moment where I find bugs that weren’t supposed to be there, so setting a date for the release of the demo is hard, but saying it will certainly be around this month or early march is certain!

I also am going to release a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo (kickstarter doesn’t accept my country unfortunatelly), so I can pay my musician, buy some new equipment (still using a decade-old computer for this) and maybe feed myself with lots of cupcakes to fuel development directly (through unhealthy amounts of sugar). I plan on launching the campaign on Virgo season (august/september), so please keep up with me until then~!

Also, I’ll probably have to launch a greenlight campaign soon for Virgo because of the new Steam direct policy (with its potentially absurd fees), so if you could help me with the greenlight it would mean the world to me~! Thank you all for your support until now reblogging and spreading the love on Virgo, it makes me constantly glad to have this community helping me with my little gaimu T____T~

annileigh  asked:

I'mma go in a different direction here: Andrew cares more about the cats than Neil does. Like, Neil loves them and all but he'll shove them over so he can sit on the couch, and Andrew won't. Andrew will basically rearrange his life around them especially if they are sleeping.

I love this I love you I love Andrew and i love Neil and i love those stupid fucking cats okay here I go

-every night with Andrew is like an absurd game of tetris, or maybe even just a contortionist act
-Neil has no issue with shoving Sir or King out of his side of the bed
-but they are cats
-cats are crafty
-Neil’s side of the bed is taken? okey dokey, let’s BOTH sleep on Andrew’s side
-the first time they do this Andrew has a staring contest with them for a good five minutes
-eventually he shrugs and just contorts into a weird S shape, with Sir in the crook of his knees and King tucked into the curve of his torso
-Andrew’s back kills him
-worth it
-the cats sleep fitfully each night, and oftentimes Neil awakens to find Andrew with entire limbs held in the air just so he won’t disturb one of the cats
-Neil thinks Andrew is an idiot
-Andrew raises the percentage
-cups of coffee are moved for petting time on the counter
-movies are watched from the floor to accommodate a purring couch-cat
-Andrew goes days without wearing different clothes when the cats take turns sleeping on his laundry
-Neil is grossed out so Andrew just wears his clothes
-still worth it
-no item of clothing escapes the wrath of cat hair
-Andrew still doesn’t give a shit
-Neil is perpetually unamused
-the cats are happy
-Andrew is most likely part-cat anyway so Neil slowly accepts it
-by slowly I mean he stops raising a brow at Andrew’s unusual sleeping positions after a good 8 years
-Andrew takes what he can get
-which includes maybe a fifth of the entire bed
-sacrifices must be made to appease the beloved cats
-Andrew would die for them
-Neil loves them but still makes jokes about getting the cats armbands too
-Andrew actually considers it
-Neil hates everything
-what’s new

The Guy Upstairs

Word Count:2,588

Warning: Smut

A/N: a nice smut story with a little bit of aggressive Jin. Again! Big shout out to bangtans-baby for the quick edit!^^

 You tapped your pencil against your notebook in an annoyed manner. You knew in college, partying was second nature. But what you didn’t understand is how someone could have a party every week. How and when did their school work get done? This was the problem you were having with your upstairs neighbor, Jin. Over and over, you had asked him to keep the noise down but he continued to neglect your feelings. And this wasn’t one of those parties’s where people invite friends over for a small gathering but a P-A-R-T-Y! Where there is liquor and loud music involved. Students become sloppy drunk and no longer care about their surroundings or the people around them. They puke and fall down everywhere, not to mention the aftermath of cleaning up the mess.

A loud thud followed by cheering interrupted you from your thoughts. You threw the comforter off of you in a huff and changed into sweatpants. You grabbed your keys and left out of the front door. Before you could take a step, a guy spouted vomit over the hallway floor and himself. This was the shit you were talking about, the negligence. Who was gonna clean this up once the party was over? It wasn’t like you stayed in the dorms and have janitors tidy up the place. You, Jin, and another guy on the third floor stayed in an apartment building and paid a quarter of the rent. The rest was funded by the school. The best part was that you had your own apartment to yourself, complete privacy.

No roommates, no RA, no school staff to bother you. It sounded like heaven on earth that is, until you found out your neighbor was a party animal. And when he wasn’t partying, he was fucking his extremely vocal girlfriend. The sounds of their lovemaking was so loud and vivid, they could of been fucking right next to her. You stomped up the stairs. His apartment door was wide open, people stumbling in and out. After wandering around, you found Jin in the kitchen with some friends and his girlfriend. He looked buzzed but alert. When he spotted you walking towards him, he smiled.

“Look who finally came to party.”

 "Can I have a word with you?“ You spoke, trying to keep the irritation out of your voice. Jin pulled you into his bedroom which, surprisingly, was neat and clean. He closed the door behind you, shutting out the rest of the party.

"So what’s up?"

You turned to face him, crossing your arms. "You promised me the last time that you would keep the noise and bumping down to a minimum. I know we are neighbors and we have to deal with each other until one of us moves out but could you at least show some compassion? I’m trying to study for an exam coming up in a few days but your parties are distracting. If I wanted to study or do homework in the privacy of my own home, I should be able to do that without being disturbed."

Jin looked at you sympathetically. "I apologize. I’ve had a tough week with school and I wanted to relax with some friends. I swear, we will try to keep it down next time."

"You said that last time, Jin!"

"And I mean it this time.” He countered. You scoffed and walked passed him but before you could leave out the room, he spoke again. “You’re always so uptight. I’m here if you ever want to relieve that stress."

You rolled your eyes and headed back to your apartment, slamming the door once you made it inside. That night, you slept with a pillow over your head until the party died down at 4:30 that morning. You awoke mid-afternoon and dress for class. You heard noises in the hallway but didn’t pay much attention to it until you stepped outside your door. Four guys were thoroughly cleaning from top to bottom. They were washing the walls, sweeping, mopping, and dusting off the banister. Soon there wouldn’t be a trace of a party ever occurring. You were really impressed.

"Excuse me but why are you doing this?” You asked one of the boys.

“Jin paid us to clean his apartment and the hallway."

"Oh… okay. Well thank you, you guys are doing a great job."

You left and returned a couple hours later to find Jin waiting at your door. "What are you doing here?” You questioned, earning a chuckle from him.

“I live here too.” He stated. You scoffed and rolled your eyes.

“I meant what are you doing at my door?"

"I was hoping if you would let me take you to lunch. There was something I wanted to talk to you about."

You looked in his face to see if he was joking. You and Jin never associated with one another outside of the apartment building. But it’s wasn’t "drunk Jin” or “silly Jin” only a guy with a serious look on his face.

You found yourself at the local diner sitting across from Jin. You two had ordered a simple burgers, fries, and coke and were waiting on the waiter to bring it to the table. He was the first to speak and break the silence.

“Thanks for joining me today. I know this may seem a little sudden."

 "That’s okay but I’m curious to know what you wanted to talk about."

"First, I would like to apologize about the loud noise coming from my place every weekend. It was selfish of me to ignore your feelings and disrespectful of me not to let you know what is going on. So I’m coming to you like a man and letting you know that from now on, I promise not to make a sound.” The last thing you expected was for him to apologize and it caught you off guard.

“Second, I promise to clean up after each party. You don’t have worry when you step outside your door."

 You took a sip of your drink and cleared your throat. "Thank you for understanding, it really means a lot. I’ll try not to bitch at you so much if that helps."

"It does,” Jin smiled. You both shared a laugh before lifting your glasses for a toast. “To neighbors…"

"To neighbors!"

~~~
The pillow was pressed against your ears, trying to drown out the sounds. It had been two weeks since Jin had taken you to lunch and promised to keep the noise down. But as of that moment, he was upstairs fucking his annoyingly loud girlfriend. Not to mention the bed was bumping against the wall. The day before, he had threw another party. It was so chaotic that drunk people were trying to enter in to your apartment. You should have known better than to trust a word that came out of his mouth. Jin will always be an inconsiderate jerk who only cared about himself. You were over it.
The next day, you stormed up the stairs banging hard on his door until he opened it. A sleepy head Jin emerged from the other side of the door. His hair was unkempt and he was shirtless. You figured he would still in bed, after all, he did have a long night. Jin rubbed his eyes trying to focus on you.
"What’s up?” His deep raspy voice asked. Your breath hitched in your throat as you lost your train of thought.
“We need to talk.” You pushed past him and entered his home, waiting on him to lock up. What you needed to say was unpleasant and you didn’t want your other neighbor to hear. It’s suddenly dawned on you that his girlfriend could still be there. You didn’t ask before you came barging in and it made you somewhat uncomfortable.
“She’s not here.” Jin spoke. He caught you looking around, trying not to be obvious but you failed. It’s actually surprised you when you heard his voice again. You weren’t aware that he was watching your every move.
“Oh… well that’s good,” you tried to play it off by flipping your hair in disinterest. “I didn’t want your girlfriend to think something was going on between us."
Jin uncrossed his arms and walked closer to you. "She’s not my girlfriend.” He whispered in your ear before walking into the bathroom. You heard the faucet running and you took the time to take a breath. Your heart was pounding and you didn’t know why but you were also nervous. This was the second time you were alone with Jin but this time you were in his house and it was just the two of you. It didn’t help that you were wearing tight short shorts and a loose sleeveless shirt, while he just paraded around in just pajama pants.
“So what did you want to talk about?"
You turned around and found Jin still topless, drying his face and hair with a towel. Your eyes drifted down to his abs that flexed every time he moved his arms. When your gaze returned to his face, the end of his lip was curled in a smirk. You placed your hands on your hips to show him that you meant business.
"We sat at lunch and you promised me that you weren’t going to be noisy."
"When was I noisy?"
You narrowed your eyes at him. "The party two days ago! It was so out of control people were trying to break in to my house! And then yesterday, your girlfriend was screaming so loud I can still hear her voice echoing in my head."
Now it was Jin turn to cross his arms. "When a party ends, it’s up to them to find their way home. I apologize if they thought your door was home. And I told you, she is not my girlfriend. Just someone I sleep with from time to time.”
"But they are your guests!” You screamed at him.
“Yeah but I told you that "I” would keep down the noise. I never mentioned anything about my friends or guests.“ He stated confidently. Your eyes widen at the true nature of his words. All at once your anger boiled over.
"You asshole! I can’t believe I trusted a single word that came out of that smart ass mouth of yours!” But Jin only laughed.
“Now, now… I thought you promised to be less bitchy."
"Fuck you!"
You stormed towards the door, only to have it slammed back in your face and you being pushed up against it. Jin turned you around and leaned in close to your face. His all to familiar smirk present on his face.
"With an attitude like yours, you make me want to. Maybe then, you wouldn’t be so uptight."
You stared into his eyes and without thinking, your lips crushed his. Jin responded by pulling your body towards his. Your tongues met in the middle as the fight for dominance began. He gripped your hips, making you feel his present hard on. The kiss ended and his mouth latched on to the side of your neck while he fondled your breast in his palm.
"Do you always leave out the house without a bra?” Jin whispered in your ear. He didn’t even give you time to respond back before your shirt was being lifted over your head. Immediately, he spotted a piercing on your right nipple and chuckled. “You really are a bad girl."
Jin placed his mouth over the entire areola, flicking the piercing with his tongue. His hands worked removing your shorts until you were standing in front of him naked. He grabbed your hand and led you to his bedroom, tossing you on his bed.
"Wait, won’t your friend get upset that you’re fucking someone else?"
"Why must you keep bringing her up? Is it because you are jealous after hearing me fuck her last night?” You rolled your eyes.
“No."
 Jin nodded and leaned his body over yours. "Good, because I plan on fucking you harder."
He kissed down your neck, between the valley of your breasts, down your stomach until your glistening pussy rested in front of his face. He placed a light kiss just above your clit and moved away. Jin stripped out of his pants and laid with his back on the bed. You questioned his movements until he pulled you on top of him with your pussy in his face and his cock in yours. Instantly you felt his tongue lapping at your clit. You gripped the base of his cock and licked up the precum that was dripping down his shaft. Placing your mouth over the tip, your head bobbed up and down as you stroked him, taking more of him in your mouth. You heard him grunting under you which only encouraged you to move faster. Jin removed his mouth to wet his index and middle finger. He used his middle finger to tease your tight ass hole before penetrating it. His index finger entered your pussy and his mouth went back to work on your clit. You were in complete bliss and could feel yourself leaking down his finger. You groan around his cock and retaliated by massaging his balls. Right away, he pushed you forward, making his cock leave your mouth.
 "Fuck,” he groaned. “Ride me."
He held his cock still as you hovered over him. Slowly you slid down his length, emitting a moan from both of you as he stretched you open. You leaned forward and held on to his thighs as you began rocking your hips back and forth. Jin had a clear view of your ass and his cock moving inside your pussy. You moved your hand to rub your clit, tightening yourself around him. Jin felt the difference and threw his head back, relaxing against the mattress. His hands gripped your waist as he helped you grind on him. After listening to his reaction, you turned your head to look back.
"Cumming already?” You teased.
“Not even close."
Jin sat up, wrapping his arm around your waist and flipped the two of you over so that he was on top. He spread your legs wider making his cock sink further into you. You held on to the bed for dear life as he plowed into you over and over. You voice echoed off the wall and you could feel the bed moving across the floor under two bodies. You finally understood what it felt like to be vocal and you loved the feeling. You were surprised if the entire neighborhood didn’t hear your moans. That feeling at the pit of your stomach was approaching and you knew you were close. Jin did too. His finger slowly circled your clit while still pounding away made your orgasm come a little too soon. Your pussy squeezed him, refusing to let go until your orgasm died down. Jin helped you ride it out by thrusting into you harder and faster. His orgasm was not too far behind. He pulled out and nutted all over your ass and back. He fell to the side of you and the room became quiet as you both tried to catch your breath.
"So now do you promise to keep down the noise?” You asked, sitting up to look at him.
 Jin thought for a minute before he answered. “Nope."
"But, why?"
"Now that I know what you will do to me if I’m loud, I think I’m gonna throw a party every day.”
A/n: SO! This is my first ever smut and I feel a little weird about it. BUT! I think you may like it. This will have 3 parts with varying degrees of plot mixed in with the smut lol. Enjoy my little J-hoes!
You smirked a little as you munched on your favorite treat, watching Hoseok pout at you while you sat on the counter. He ran his hands up your thighs, squeezing the soft muscle lightly and swiftly pulled them apart as you swallowed a gasp, smoothing out your expression as if this was nothing to you. He stepped in-between your legs, towering over you and put his hands on the counter on either side of you. He smiled like he knew you were only just pretending to be unfazed and licked his lips. His eyes stayed on your lips, only flicking them away to look longingly into your eyes.
“Baby, please?” He asked in an exaggeratedly cute voice. You held back your smile and shook your head. You took another bite and leaned away from him when he tried to take it from your fingers.
“Nope.” You said sweetly.
“I’ll make you come twice, tonight.” He bargained, leaning his forehead on yours and staring down at your lips as you bit them. You let your legs graze against his hip and you looked up at him with false innocence.
“Three times.” You countered in the same sweet voice as before.
“Deal.” He whispered, his lips brushing against yours, his tongue poking out to taste the chocolate that still clung to yours.
Camila spoke up, snorting. “No, you’re delirious if you can’t see it.”
“KJ doesn’t like me,” [Y/N] said sternly, cocking a brow at the two girls she would consider her best friends. It had been a complete and total whirlwind since she joined the Riverdale cast and she appreciated everyone who welcomed her into warm arms. “He’s just being KJ.”
Camila leaned back onto the couch, smirking. “I mean normally yes we’d agree but come on, [Y/N]. KJ has been up your butt since day one. Borderline obsessed, borderline a mess.”
Lili agreed, “KJ’s friendly but not that friendly.” Scrolling through his Instagram she pulled up a picture that he had posted a few days ago of himself and [Y/N] at a cute little cafe the group of them had gone to for lunch. “I’m quoting this word for word since you’re a grandma and haven’t made an Instagram yet.” She rolled her eyes but it was clear by her laugh that it was not meant to be taken any other way but playfully. Clearing her throat, she started to read, “’Friends are great to have, especially ones that are this pretty’” Looking at [Y/N], she quirked a brow with that famous Lili smirk across her lips, “And I should mention the amount of heart shaped eyes emoji’s he put after that is a little excessive but I’m not judging.”
[Y/N] squinted her eyes, gently taking Lili’s phone from her hands, she needed to see it for herself. Chewing on her lip, she looked up at Lili and Camila’s smug faces. “KJ thinks all of us are pretty, you know that.”
Camila groaned while she too rolled her eyes. “Okay, give me a second.” Quickly searching through KJ’s twitter, she pulled up a boomerang video of KJ videoing [Y/N] up close with the flash on while she rolled her eyes and smiled. “I do believe this caption states, ‘Those eyes and smile though’ and look, another excessive amount of heart shaped eye emoji.”
Standing up, [Y/N] gave them a slightly stern look. “I promise you, he doesn’t like me.”
“And we promise you, he does.” Camila countered. “Big time, too. We’ve been with KJ long enough to know that he’s got the love bug bad.”
“Real bad.” Lili chimed in, smirking.
Camila crossed her legs, blinking a million times. “You also can’t argue with the fans either. They ship you two a lot. I’ve seen some really cute tribute videos.”
Lili nodded, looking over at Camila she pointed randomly. “Oh yeah! I really like the one where they used that super cute James Arthur song-”
“-you two are mental.” [Y/N] shook her head and walked away. Walking over towards the table where they had coffee and snacks set up for everyone. She poured herself a coffee and about had a heart attack when she heard KJ say her name from behind her. “Jesus!”
“Oh, shit. I didn’t mean to scare you!” KJ placed a warm hand on her shoulder, his face completely apologetic.
Chuckling, she took a deep breath and shrugged. “It’s okay, but damn, you need some bells or something.”
Taking his hand off of her shoulder, he ran it through his hair. “Yeah, ha, I’ll get on that.” KJ bit his lip, “So, uh, want to go grab lunch or something?”
“Sure,” empty a few sugar packets into her cup, she looked at him sideways, “are they coming too?”
“Oh, uh, well, uh.” KJ stumbled over his words, something he usually never did.
Raising a brow, [Y/N] looked at him with a confused look. “You okay, KJ? You’re acting a bit strange.”
“Yeah, I’m fine, great actually….” KJ closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, he had rehearsed this ten times better in his head. Taking a deep breath, he finally opened his eyes and went for it. “Okay, listen. So, uh, I turned out liking you a lot more than I originally planned and I’ve been trying really hard to ignore these feelings but you make it so damn hard. I love our friendship and it’s something that I will cherish forever but I have to know if you feel the same or at least somewhat because I can work with the somewhat and if you don’t, I just hope I didn’t ruin us being friends-”
“-KJ,” [Y/N] interrupted, shaking her head while smiling. “Slow down.” Using her free hand, she grabbed his arm gently. “I like you too.”
“What? Really? You do? That’s great, I mean.” He cleared his throat and tried to act nonchalant.
 [Y/N] was about to respond but she could see Lili and Camila behind him giving her their smug smirks and quirked brows. Narrowing her eyes at them, she had to fight back a laugh when they both turned on their heel and scurried in the other direction.
KJ noticing that she was looking at something behind, turned slightly just in time to see his friends running off. “What was that about?”
Returning her attention, she shook her head. “Nothing, um, did you say something about lunch?”
Smiling, he nodded. “Yeah, do you want to get some?”
“You spoke the magic words.” [Y/N] mimicked his smile and motioned for him to lead the way. “After you.”
It’s three in the afternoon on a Saturday when Lily drops a bag of frozen peas all over the floor of her local supermarket.
It really isn’t her fault, to be perfectly honest. Yes, she’s making a fool of herself, crying with laughter as she struggles to gather the peas that have spilled all over the floor. and the others down the aisle - from the old woman looking at the yorkshire puddings, all the way to the middle aged man studying a ratty shopping list - probably think she’s mental now, but it really isn’t her fault.
Picture this: you’re running errands, casually making your way through every different sodding aisle of the nearest Tesco Express because Sirius and co. are coming over for dinner, and the only things you have in your fridge are mustard and cheese crackers – and even though you know full well they wouldn’t mind, you actually feel like trying for a change.
Your phone buzzes with a message notification, and when you slide your finger over the screen, you’re met with a picture of Algernon, your boyfriend’s insane and alarmingly orange cat, sitting next to an empty litter box. Yes, empty, because all of the litter is strewn across the midnight blue carpet, and you can practically feel James’ despair simply by looking at his face.
If this was the case, you’d probably be cracking up like an idiot as well.
[15:02] james: toilet training algernon is not… going as expected
[15:03] lily: I dropped my peas.
[15:03] james: ???
[15:04] james: tht was a typo right
[15:05] lily: I was getting food for tonight and the picture you sent me made me drop my bag of peas.
[15:06] lily: They rolled everywhere, James. I hope you’re peased with yourself.
[15:06] james: :(
[15:06] james: btw i cant believe YOU made a pun
[15:06] lily: I know, you’re a terrible influence
[15:06] lily: Also, you’re cleaning that up.
