My good friend, photographer Silvia Ros, is going with me to Cuba in August. We are working together on A Poetic Guide to Havana. The first in a series of travel guides to urban places in transition. My trip is being sponsored by a grant from KU for international travel but Silvia and her partner are traveling on their own dime. Like many Cuban Americans that grew up in America, Silvia’s family left everything in Cuba when they came to the United Sates in the early 1960s. They have always had the hope of returning home. After 50+ years away, Silvia will be the first person of her family to step foot on the island.
If you can please help Silvia finance this adventure. She’s also a great photographer so the prints you will get with sponsorship are a good deal.
