tiger's eye

2. What is your preferred herb?

Preferred? Hm, I like rosemary - I use it in almost everything and I really enjoy the smell of it. Sea salt also goes into almost literally everything - it’s like the “base” to all my herbal concoctions.

3. What is your preferred gem?

I love tiger’s eye. I almost always have a piece on me now - I have a small pouch in the top pocket of my backpack that has four or five different crystals in it, and I think there’s both a red and gold tiger’s eye in there. :p I tend to not actually use many crystals in actual spellwork, except for maybe as amplifiers, not commonly as the base for the spell. Maybe that’s something I need to work on when I figure out where my stuff is all going to go.

Thank you for the question! :D

Amedot Fusion: Tiger’s Eye

My mind drifted to a sort of ridiculous line of thought and I am so reaching, but I’ll expand on it because it’s the hiatus and why not.

Amethyst and Peridot both have cat-like themes going on.

So I thought, a cat motif fusion? The most obvious gemstone would be Tiger’s Eye.

“Tiger’s Eye is a stone of protection that is also very stabilizing and grounding. It enhances integrity, willpower, self-confidence, practicality and correct use of power.”

Who needs integrity? Peridot. Who needs self-confidence? Amethyst. Both have great power of sorts - Amethyst is a Quartz, Peridot has advanced Gem tech - and to use that power to correctly is important.

If fusion is to be a healthy relationship in which both parties help each other become better, then Tiger’s Eye fits pretty well.

Tiger’s Eye has none of Amethyst’s or Peridot’s colors, but we know from Malachite (orange + blue) that fusion can be a totally different color. It’ll be just like the crewniverse to surprise us. Maybe.

Speaking of Malachite, Tiger’s Eye can be the perfect foil to Malachite.

Malachite is Homeworld gem fusion made of hate; she is destructive, harmful to Earth.

If Amethyst and Peridot get along well enough to fuse, than they would be a Homeworld/Earth fusion made of friendship; Tiger’s Eye is a stone of protection, and she’ll fight for Earth.

The last few episodes of the second season includes “Know Your Fusion” followed by “Tiger Philanthropist”.

What if it’s Amethyst and Peridot finally fusing after a whole season of bonding (Garnet says love takes time and work)? They explore their fusion together. They have to get to know Tiger’s Eye - she’s completely new, all the other Crystal Gems fusions are familiar to the Gems.

Tiger Philanthropist has Tiger in the title, but also: Philanthropy etymologically means ‘love of humanity’. A gemstone of protection just might be able to do that.

And that’s my daydream theory what I think!
