Look how we get swallowed by the tide
I’ll see you on some lone dusty shore
Every thing we fought for swept aside
And we pretend to be shaken to the core

Look how we allow our time to subside
Memories fleeting through open door
Every time your shadow catches mine
The smoke signals return to the fore

Look how the seasons have flown by
The words on their pages losing score
Every melody once hummed in stride
Carry their soulful sweetness no more

Look how we get swallowed by the tide
I see my self stranded on your shore
Every chance to escape swept aside
Instead I’ve welcomed perpetual storm
