Thunderhead Brewing Company’s Golden Frau Honey Wheat, 12 oz., 7.5% ABV. We’re in the middle of a Nebraska heat wave, and sometimes it takes a Nebraska beer to help endure this seemingly endless heat. Thunderhead is out of Kearney, Nebraska, which some of you road trippers might know as the “how-are-we-only-halfway-across-this-damn-state?” city. I feel your pain, but Kearney is better than that. You can take this beer as proof. It’s nice that this smooth, American-style hefeweizen can still offer a relatively substantial ABV.
