This is an important, well written memoir depicting a trans narrative that we don’t see often. Reading about a mixed black trans woman’s life is wonderful. And Janet does a lovely job describing how all these intersecting identities have shaped her life experiences. She also does an amazing job describing the privileges she has and how her narrative isn’t the only trans narrative which is a normal pitfall of trans writing.  Be aware, the reading ahead contains spoilers and mention of the content warned for above.
