thought of making something like this because why not

The whole “Lucius was abusive with Draco” thing has always been so funny to me. Really, I don’t get how people are able to believe something so silly.

Seriously, guys, wake the fuck up, if Lucius had been abusive with his son, he wouldn’t have been a part of the series. You know why? Because Narcissa “If you attack my son again I shall ensure that is the last thing you ever do” Malfoy would have killed him ten times in a row.

I don’t know.” she said. “I was just there, standing in front of him. Crying—silently but my heart is beating loudly. I knew he’s talking—that he’s explaining the reason why we have to end what we’ve had started. But I can’t hear clearly every word he said because I was very busy—trying to calm my heart. I was so focused on thinking about something that will make me win him back. It seems like I’m the thunder trying to drown the sound of the rain. And I ended up losing. I fade away slowly and the rain just kept on pouring endlessly.

Here’s the full transcript of Mark talking Darkiplier in the livestream

(Time approx. 3 hours, 52 minutes to 4 hours, 4 minutes into the stream. And, yes, this took forever). Thought you’d like this, maybe.

I’ve bolded stuff I find especially interesting.

~~~~~~~
Mark: Long ago, a long time ago, I liked to do these scary edits because I just felt like doing scary edits and this is how Darkiplier got born. And then what happened was over time Darkiplier became less and less about the scary figure and more about this romantic figure, and it always rubbed me the wrong way. And I kind of shied away from Darkiplier for a while. And I really really really- if I was going to bring Darkiplier, and when we thought about this, we thought, okay there should be a Darkiplier route. And that was there from the beginning, and so when I wanted to do it I wanted to do it my way, and I wanted to do it right, and I wanted to have this unending level of creepiness. And at the same time, I didn’t want to step on the toes of Antisepticeye because I know there’s a big fan base of that, and I didn’t want to get in the way of that at all and I really don’t care that there’s more than one dark personalities of people. But when I saw the opportunity to have this character here, I spent like 8 hours editing this, like just meticulously every single RBG. This is a layer, we green screened this one, I color corrected it, I separated the RBG layers I added the shakes and glitchiness every frame. I worked on the voice, too. The voice took me the longest to figure out. Like the shakes! And my computer was dying this whole time cause I put my effects on here.
Tyler: The amount of time you had to spend rendering this.
Mark: And so, the audio’s actually three separate layers. It would have been two, but Kathryn helped me out on that one to make it more clear. It’s a normal pitched layer that’s edited, echoed, reverbed, mastered, and convoluted which means it’s just thrown off to the left and right, and then it’s a deep layer of that. But then to make it really come together- it didn’t live without this center channel that wasn’t convoluted but was centered. But getting that voice right was so pinnacle, so paramount to what I wanted to come out of this. And we did like thirty minutes of shooting various versions of me talking to the camera and I wanted to pick the exact dialogue that really kind of gave away my idea of what Dark is in not a terribly obvious way.
Tyler: The other thing, this was supposed to all be one video.
Mark: But YouTube annotations, this new version doesn’t allow you to link the same video multiple times, so these are literally the old videos that I first did when Darkiplier first came about, like, these are the ones, especially this one here, and then this is my cheap knockoff Darkiplier.
Amy: Canon Darkiplier.
Mark: Canon Darkiplier. And I’m going to readily admit something. I joked about Darkiplier because it didn’t seem like something people wanted to take seriously, and I’m okay with that on certain aspects but it had diverged into multiple different facets and multiple different personalities, and everyone had their own version of Darkiplier, and I thought it was hilarious that, “Hey, here’s my version of Darkiplier, and he’s an idiot.” Like, he’s just this weird emo kid. And then I stepped back from that, like, I stepped back. And you can even- in that time, when I was doing those videos, in this era, I was not very happy. I was kind of… I was pessimistic about a lot of things. And I felt like that bled through in a lot of things I did. And that’s why even October of last year I literally made Darkiplier an emo character. And then when we were getting to this, I thought about it like very carefully and I thought back to why I did it originally, and I did it originally because, well, Darkiplier wasn’t even a thing. Darkiplier was not a thing when I was making those videos. I just wanted to make some creepy stuff. And then I thought about that, and I was like if I want to make a statement about who this is, I need to own that and I need to put something out there that is not ambiguous, because I realize that’s where I went wrong. I didn’t have a solid character so obviously, people would come up with their own versions, they would fill in the gaps where they saw fit. So, when I made this I had to embrace it fully and fine-tune it down to exactly where I wanted. When you choose the “fake” choice carrying through to this one, I really wanted that to come through, except at the end to this video, where it gets silly, but that’s because the real me comes in and the real me’s an idiot. And I’ve actually watched this over and over again because I’m listening to the takes I put in here and I’m listening to my inflection and my tone, my demeanor and I’m imagining like how to refine it better next time when I bring him back, like how to do it better.
Tyler: I remember now, I set up the table.
Mark: Yeah, you did. You set up the table we had to change it out for clear glasses because the green screen was reflecting through. But yeah, even this, like the intersplices of anger, and this is me getting real deep in the meta of Darkiplier, like if that’s even a thing that can be- let me just pause it here. I don’t read too much into this but if there’s something that I want to take seriously, I want to actually do right. So, in my mind, Darkiplier is an entirely different person from me. But, much like Warfstache, doesn’t obey the laws of physics. He exists in another world entirely and bleeds through into this one. This is sounding really nerdy of me.
Tyler: I remember the Warfstache talk.
Mark: So Completely unironically, Darkiplier is a completely separate entity from who I am. But, he admires what I’ve accomplished, and he’s very much… people picked up on this, and people thought it was really creepy, because it’s what I wanted. He’s a social manipulator. He is literally, 100% manipulative. He leads you into this false sense of security, and he wants you to trust him because he wants to take advantage of you. That is literally what I wanted for Darkiplier. And how creepy and scary that actually is from the surface. Especially in this first bit, where he says, “If dinner is what you want, then I can provide.” And I wanted this to come across in a seductive way while also masking, like, this burning rage inside that breaks through the suave nature of it. That was my clue to reveal he’s not your friend. He’s not here to help you. He’s here to use you. And that also came across when I was thinking about, like, the effects. Like, his image shatters, he separates because he’s not entirely kept together, you know what I mean? So, I wanted like the drastic impacts of the rage pulling back suddenly to the calm nature and the demeanor and this last one, I was thinking was especially telling. It’s not me trying to break through, it’s his shell cracking.
Kathryn: I love that.
Mark: Yeah? It’s my favorite of all of them.
Kathryn: That’s one’s my favorite. I have legitimately just gone and watched that bit.
Mark: Yeah?
Kathryn: It’s really good.
Mark: Oh, thank you.
Kathryn: I really like that.
Mark: Yeah. And number 1 the visuals work hard on this one, but nailing the audio- that high-pitched ringing that a lot of people were like wow that really hurts my ears, that was by design. That was supposed to hurt because listening to him- a lot if inspiration for him comes from G-man from Half-life 2 and 1, like this weird interdimensional person that seems human but is obviously not and doesn’t obey the laws of physics, and is just like this shell of a person that’s in a suit. Not a suit, literally a human suit, and is trying to figure out how to puppet it right that you believe him, but he’s really good at it. And that’s where the scariness of Darkiplier, I think, really comes from, is because he seems like someone you can trust, and he will manipulate you, and take advantage of you, and literally use you, and to me that’s terrifying. Like that’s the antithesis of what I want to be and so if I’m going to make an opposite version of me, he’s gonna be the fucking worst. Like worse than any romantic story can ever bring about. He’s fucking awful.
Amy: It was convenient, though, I like the way it goes from Relax to this, like the video “Relax,” because then people were not expecting this. But it’s so nice to have it on Valentine’s Day. It works so well.
Mark: And then came the bullshit transition that we had to do. So, this is comical in a way.
Amy: It doesn’t drag it though.
Mark: Yeah it doesn’t drag. You get the scary. Tyler’s here-
Tyler: In Mark’s suit, which I have fit in, but not the pants.
Mark: He didn’t fit, we forgot to get a tie, like, we printed out a mask, and I looked at this and was like I could try to make this creepy, and then I went, I objectively can’t. Let me throw in some punch sound effects.
Tyler: I have to make sure, cause-
Mark: He couldn’t see shoot.
Tyler: No, I couldn’t, and I had to keep moving the mask cause there was one time we did this that the mask ended up completely on the side of my head and I was just like, hey Mark, you can’t touch my face.
Amy: The convenient thing about this, though, with all the glitches is that you can hide stuff with it.
Tyler: Yeah, and there’s a reason I never let go of Mark I have no clue where anything is.
Mark: Yeah, oh man. Oh, this, oh my god. Oh, and secret Easter egg- you know who Dark is because he doesn’t have a shadow. Totally intentional and by design.
Amy: His toes are missing too, but.
Mark: Shh he doesn’t have toes he’s so scary.
A Killer’s Past & his PTSD
Back again with another analysis; and boy oh boy did this chapter meet and go beyond my expectations. First, let me start off by saying finally. The elusive and highly coveted second floor was finally shown to us viewers - and it was surprisingly mundane (when you compare it to the countless theories we had of bodies being all over the place or weird mommy memorabilia.) The shock of the second floor aside, what really had me Sang-shook - and I think all of us - was Sangwoo’s reaction, because for a while, many of us had debated on whether Sangwoo could feel anything.
I’d like to explore Sangwoo’s breakdown a little. But please note, all of this is purely speculative, and Koogi’s proven to throw even the most complex theories a curve ball. So let’s get started:
Three words, and a whole world of depth.
“Something’s not right.”
This sentence stuck out to me. This moment burned itself into my mind. Why?Because I feel this was the moment Sangwoo was thrown back into the past, and he no longer just saw Bum on the floor. He saw a familiar picture, a scene in which he’d played a crucial role and was left vulnerable. I feel like this moment was Koogi’s way of mirroring, through Sangwoo’s eyes, what happened to Sangwoo’s mother.
And I know, it’s a stretch guys. I’m aware that we don’t know what happened. Sangwoo hasn’t told us if he killed his parents, or if something else went down, but I feel this was a hint. I just couldn’t shake the feeling. And I caught a couple of signs before this; the first being Sangwoo’s peculiar way of speaking after he sees Bum’s blood running across the floor. It’s as if he reverts back to a childish state, and I think it carries more depth then being simply in “shock.”
“Make it go back.”
“Let’s get you to bed.”
Sangwoo is not a stranger to blood or guts. He’s killed countless women. He’s tortured and humiliated Bum before, and before this scene he even grabbed his bat to finish Bum off because he was pissed. And that makes sense, after all. Bum did something he could not control, and we all know how much Sangwoo needs his control. He’s not an amateur when it comes to human anatomy. He’s seen Bum bleed. He’s made Bum bleed. Given how he bandages Bum up later, he knows that the way Bum cut himself won’t kill him. So I thought, why the hell would he freak out like this? Why would he waste time trying to push the blood back when he’s clearly been more productive before.
Instead of taking Bum upstairs immediately to stop the bleeding, he wigs out. The switch is flipped. He cups his hands and brings them together in a futile, almost child like attempt to make Bum stop bleeding, and this really disturbed me.
Then there’s this moment, and it clicked.
It clicked, because I’ve had this moment.
Without getting too personal, I suffer from PTSD.
I’ve been abused as a child, and I was raped as an adult. It’s something that I battle with everyday, and there were times in my life where something, something so small and seemingly insignificant triggered a memory inside of me that just had me frozen. Just paralyzed with fear.
This frame, right here, took me back to all the times I stared off into the distance during topics of sexual assault, topics of abuse, and for that instant I relived the trauma. And this moment right here is when I think Sangwoo suffers a PTSD related flashback, and relives a moment that’s parallel to his past, which is why he reverts to a childish state.
Whether it makes you upset or not, the fact of the matter is Oh Sangwoo is victim. He’s a murderer. Yes. A sociopath. Probably. But that doesn’t make the trauma he’s been through any less important or relevant to the person he is today. And while a mental illness isn’t a justification for murder or any of his actions, I think it’s a player.
PTSD: Symptoms may include nightmares or flashbacks
Avoidance of situations that bring back the trauma
Agitation, irritability, hostility, hyper-vigilance, self-destructive behavior. Hyper reactivity to stimuli.
Whether Sangwoo killed his mother, and was reliving that moment, is purely speculative. Whether his father killed his mother is again, purely speculative. But the question he posed to Bum at the end, about whether ‘Bum didn’t love him anymore because he was just like his father… is specific, and definitely mimicking words his own mother told him before. Soon after, he flies into a rage and almost drowns Bum. Perhaps, in the past, after his mother told him he was like his father, Oh Sangwoo flew into a similar fit of rage and killed her on accident… and the scene in the kitchen with the blood is him reliving that moment of fear and regret? Who can say.
But I’m excited for what’s to come, and I’m even more excited to hear all your theories and thoughts. Bum is definitely someone he can’t leave behind anymore, but whether he loves Bum beyond using him to stave off his nightmares is something I’m dubious about. We’re definitely getting some important information here, and I was impressed with how vividly Koogi captured Sangwoo’s muddled mental state.
This chapter is my favorite thus far, and I’m pumped for what Koogi has in store. Thanks for reading.
The water was warm against your freezing skin, the bubbles up to your chin and jostling whenever you moved your legs. The air was faintly filled with the sounds of cars driving by on the streets down below, the tires splashing in the puddles of leftover rain. The room was dimly illuminated, your wet hand glistening on the edge of the tub when the candle on the sink flickered patches of light onto your arm, giving it life when it felt so dull. Everything smelled like oranges and vanilla, your skin, your hair, even the bubbles threatening to spill over the edge of the porcelain. It all seemed relaxing, in theory. It was supposed to feel nice and like a reward after a long day, but in reality it was making you want to rip your hair from your scalp.
Because in the silent solitude all you could think about was Chanyeol.
Steven's not Cookie Cat, Lars is
Lars being killed, then resurrected and turned into the same magical being that lion is has been hinted at since the very first episode of Steven Universe. It’s been in front of our eyes this whole time.
Lets first look at the Lyrics for cookie cat and analyze it:
Oh, he’s a frozen treat with an all new taste
Cause he came to this planet from outer space
Lars attitude completely changed once he was on the ship, and on homeworld. From admitting his cowardly ways, to standing up for himself, protecting his friends, and showing his appreciation for everything he didn’t appreciate before. “Frozen treat with an all new taste” symbolizing his cold attitude before, with who he is now.
“A refugee of an interstellar world
But now he’s at your local grocery store”
A refugee is defined as a person who has been forced to leave their home. Lars was taken from his home, unlike Steven who surrendered himself.
Cookie Cat
He’s a pet for your tummy
Cookie Cat
He’s super duper yummy
Cookie Cat
He left his family behind
Cookie Caaat!
“He left his family behind”, yes both Steven and Lars did leave their families behind. But Lars didn’t willingly leave his family behind like Steven did. Steven left his family behind to protect them. Steven probably feels a great satisfaction knowing that he’s not the cause for his family’s danger anymore. Lars probably feels more torn, and upset by leaving his family behind. A family he didn’t appreciate before. Also Lars seems to feel guilt for leaving Sadie behind when he could have protected her. So I feel this applies more to Lars then steven.
Now lets look at the first ever scene in the series:
the scene starts off with Steven yelling no! And his dramatic reaction to the loss of his beloved Cookie Cat ice cream.
then proceeds to Steven being in denial claiming that it “has to be a dream”. So why so dramatic over ice cream? Because it’s not about ice cream. The scene symbolizes lars’s death in the recent episode off colors.
Steven calls out for Lars.
holds him, and continues to mourn for the loss of his Cookie Cat. So why hold Lars? Someone who obviously is busy stocking, and clearly rejects his affections. It’s because Steven holding him tightly hints at the recent events that just unfolded in the previous released episode.
Then the next frame Lars addresses that cookie cats have been replaced with Lion lickers. I believe this hints at Lars (Cookie Cat) changing into the same magical being that lion is (being represented as Lion Lickers)
I’d like to point out in the next frame that Lars describes cookie cats as “wimpy” which is particularly odd that he chose that adjective to describe cookie cats. He could have said stupid, lame, gross, etc. any typical insult. He chose “wimpy” how does Lars see himself? Lars does not view himself in very positive ways. He does see himself as a coward, scared, everything that a wimp is.
Lars continues to say “why don’t you make some with your “magic belly button”. Which I also find odd to some extent. Being that we needed to address Steven, and his gem origin at some point in the episode, but why would Lars address it in that way? Why is Lars the first to address Steven’s gem, and gem abilities? Not someone else? Someone with better understanding of gems? I might be reading a little bit into this, but I think this is foreshadowing Steven healing Lars much like Lars is claiming that Steven heals Cookie Cat, and bring cookie cat back with his “magic belly button”. Much like Steven does with Lars. Reviving Lars after he died with his magical healing powers.
Next Steven describes cookie cat as having a crunchy exterior, which sounds like who? Lars pretends to be tough, and have a rough exterior to impress people like the cool kids. Which also goes into his style. His tough-looking graphic tees, his edgy haircut, even his gauges. I believe he does all of this to make him look tough. So that he can “fit in” and look cool to the cool kids.
Then Steven describes cookie cat have a creamy inside. Much like Lars who plays it off like he’s this cool tough guy, but inside he’s this soft, pampered kid with a loving family, who loves to bake. Who has genuine feelings that he tries to hide for people. Who cares, and has more bottled up emotions than anyone could have figured.
Then Steven brings it back to mourning of his cookie cat. Claiming that cookie cat was “too good for this world”. Why so much emphasis on the loss of cookie cat? Why so dramatic? Why make it seem so literal for the death of cookie cat? It’s because cookie cat is really just Lars.
Also id like to point out cookie cats mixed colored eyes. Something about that reminds me of Lars’s scar over his eye.
I’ve seen the headcanons and fics where Keith laughs and smiles and Lance just melts but what if Keith sees Lance laugh, like actually laugh and he just stops.
Like the boy has to clutch his chest, walk away to the most deserted part of the castle and just lay his head against the wall and think because how. the. fuck. does Lance to just be that flawlessly beautiful without even trying and who asked him to light up Keith’s whole world like that, who is he to just make his heart do things hearts aren’t supposed to do like stop and why-
“Shiro what are you doing put me down.“
“Buddy it’s been six hours you need to eat dinner with us, we almost thought you were dead or something.“
“You let me lay eyes on Lance I will be.“
“Oh fucking- this again Keith? Really?“
I Don’t Mean It (pt 9)
Taehyung ran as fast as his legs could take him, not worrying about who noticed him this late at night on the streets. He couldn’t believe how all these events had played off. He couldn’t believe he didn’t trust you, especially when you told him that you didn’t do it. The image you crying kept replaying in his head as he ran towards the building. He was suddenly scared to approach you.
He thought back to the conversation you both had months and months ago. You both sat on the couch, while you had the TV on in the background as the two of you chatted. That was the first night that Taehyung realized he had fallen in love with you. The way he was so comfortable to open up with you and how you felt the same about him. It was like a connection he never felt before.
He remembered you saying that you value trust as one of the single most important things in your life. And once that trust was broken, it would never be whole again.
Not only did he probably break your trust, but he felt like he broke you too. He remembered the words he yelled at you, now realizing how hurtful they really must have been.
As soon as Taehyung reached his building, he was waiting for the elevator with what little patience he had left. Seeing as you both lived on the 8th floors, he thought the elevator was his best bet but it seemed to be taking longer than usual. Just as he was about to start running up the stairs, the door belonging to the landlord on the first floor opened.
Out came a rather old man and Taehyung knew he had to at least say hello, even though he wanted nothing more than to run up.
“Oh hi there Taehyung…you look rather out of breath,” said the landlord
“Oh…haha yeah sort of” said Taehyung, awkwardly fiddling with his hands, waiting to be excused.
“Oh..you must have been helping your neighbor bring boxes down!” said the landlord. This caught Taehyung’s attention.
“N-neighbor?” Taehyung asked.
“Oh yes! That lovely girl next door to you boys. She said she was moving soon” said the landlord.
Taehyung didn’t even say anything before he rushed up the stairs, knowing he had to stop you at all costs. He ran to your door and before he knocked, he tried to catch his breath and tried to think of what he was going to say to you. He knew earning your forgiveness was no easy task, but you would always forgive him in the end…right? You both had a few small arguments here and there but you had always forgiven him without much effort on his part. Would this time be any different?
Taehyung finally knocked on the door, anxiously waiting for you to open the door. While waiting, he thought back to all the times you opened the door for him with the biggest smile on your face. Was he wrong for wanting that again?
He could hear the door unlock and he let go of a breath he didn’t know he was holding. Thankfully you were home.
“You’re ear–” you said, but stopped as you finally saw who was at the door. You were expecting the movers to come by today, but you were surprised to see Taehyung at the door. You gulped, wondering if he had wanted to come to yell at you some more.
“You..you’re moving?” Taehyung asked. He didn’t mean to start with that, but he couldn’t help himself when he noticed all the cardboard boxes that stood behind you.
You only stare at Taehyung, confused with the tone of his voice. You didn’t know what to say. “Y-yes” was all you could bring out.
“w-why?” he continued.
“I don’t have any reason to stay anymore” you said, tears starting to well up in your eyes again. Before he could say anything else, you tried closing the door on him, but he grabbed the door and pushed it back. He let himself in and you stared at him, wide-eyed.
“Y/N.. I’m so sorry” he said looking directly at you. His tone was guilt ridden. He almost couldn’t meet your eyes after noticing the tears, but he knew he had to stand his ground.
“For what exactly?” you say emotionless. If it weren’t for your tears, you could have been mistaken as a statue.
“For..what I said before. I- I don’t know what I was thinking” Taehyung started, finally tearing away from your eyes as it was getting to much to take.
“You were thinking that I was some low-life scum who was only friends with you to make a few bucks” you said, finally letting the tears flow freely down your slightly rosy cheeks.
“No..I don’t think that of you. I didn’t mean it” Taehyung started pleading as he inched closer to you.
“No, you did mean it” You said, backing away when you noticed him trying to get closer to you.
“Y/N, please, i’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said the things I did…I’m so sorry” Taehyung continued. His stomach started to turn when he thought that there was the chance that you didn’t forgive him this time around. “I heard my manager. He said he made the whole thing up to keep us apart, Y/N please….” he tried again.
You snickered back. “So…you only believe me now because you heard the truth from your manager….otherwise you still wouldn’t have taken my word. Am I right?” you said, with a sudden anger surging through your veins.
Taehyung thought about it for a while, and he knew that a part of what you said was true. He didn’t believe you when you said you didn’t do it, and he knew that he didn’t plan to hear you out either. But a part of him also wanted to keep on holding onto you, even if you had betrayed him.
When it took him a while to reply, you continued “I guess I have my answer….please leave” you said, wiping the tears away from your eyes.
“No, Y/N please hear me out. Please, I’m begging you. Just forgive me this one time please? You’ve always forgiven me in the past, Y/N please” he pleaded, tears threatening to form in his eyes.
“You didn’t want to hear what I had to say, which I should do the same for you?” you asked as you glared back at him.
“I was dumb, Y/N you know me. I always make stupid mistakes, but you always found it in your heart to forgive me. Please, just this one last time, forgive me. I don’t want to lose you….There’s so much I wanted to tell you….” he said as his voice cracked a little at the last part.
You didn’t like seeing Taehyung like this. You always had wanted him to have that box smile on his face, and be the little ball of happiness that he was. But you didn’t know if you could ever be the same with him again. If he doubted you then, what’s to keep him from doubting you in the future? He broke your heart before you even had the chance of giving it all to him, before he even knew that it already belonged to him in the first place. Now, you were just trying to pick up the pieces of your shattered heart, hoping that one day it will be like it was before.
The eerie silence once again filled the room. Taehyung tried to walk to you again, hoping that he just had you in his arms, you could find it in yourself to forgive him. But you stuck your hand out, signaling him to stop.
“No. Leave.” you said firmly.
“Y/N…p-ple” he started
“LEAVE” you screamed back. You let out your sobs and fell to your knees, not having any more energy to continue.
Taehyung wanted nothing more than to run to you and hold you. To let you cry into his arms as he would probably cry back into yours. But he knew that you weren’t going to let him near you, even in your current position. He didn’t want to, but he walked out of your door, finally letting the tears fall. His vision blurred from the tears as he walked back to his own apartment, just a few feet down.
He walked into the silent and dark room, not bothering to turn on the lights. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket, but he already knew that it was just the boys looking for him.
Eventually, the phone stopped buzzing after a few minutes and Taehyung plopped himself onto his bed, finally letting his own tears fall freely.
He just lost you. He lost the girl who he feel so deeply in love with. He didn’t even have the chance to tell you how much you meant to him, or how much he wanted to make you his. Instead, he took the heart he wanted to badly and broke it. He didn’t know why chose to believe his manager’s lies, because deep down he knew you would never do something like that. But it scared him nonetheless. He thought that if his manager was right, then he would end up hurting. So he hurt you instead.
And now here you both were, lonely, in pain, and broken.
A/N: So like…The series is not over. For those of you guys who like pure angst, and don’t want a happy ending, then I suggest you stop here. In the future part(s), I’m writing with the intention of a happy ending. Do y’all want part 10? What do you think is going to happen to Y/n and Tae?! Let me know~ I love hearing from y’all. The support I’ve gotten from this one series has been amazing and it’s been so much fun writing for you guys. Part 1 has reached over 1.8k notes and I’m still in awe.
Previous Parts: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
People fear someone falling out of love with them, but no one usually questions what it’s like to be the one falling out. They can’t picture feeling that something must be horribly wrong with you because there’s no other plausible explanation for why your heart doesn’t flutter when you look at him like it used to. It was the position I never thought I would find myself in, yet here I was, looking at the man I supposedly loved and not feeling a thing. If there was anything there, it was negative. Annoyance, anger, sadness, the complete opposite of everything he used to make me feel. It wasn’t right to let him believe things were okay, so I told him. Watching his facial expression drift from a quiet seriousness into a brokenness I never thought I would cause, I wished I didn’t mean the words I said but I knew I did. I couldn’t keep running away, after all, where could I go when the person that used to feel like home no longer did?
The air conditioning caused the dimly lit room to be abnormally cold, as Jin slightly shivered. He was sitting with his hands forming fists, while his father gave him a stern look.
He didn’t want to be here, that was for sure. He knew his father must have started to become suspicious of him, since it was taking an unusually long time for him to locate Jungkook and you. So when he got another message that his father wanted to see him – he couldn’t stop shaking.
What was he supposed to say? He couldn’t keep lying and give his father the same answer of ‘they are close.’ No, that definitely wouldn’t work this time, as he could tell with the look his father currently gave him.
“Son,” his father spoke with a grim voice. “How stupid do you think I am?”
Even though Jin was nervous, he managed to pull off his infamous poker face as he replied, “What ever do you mean?”
“Save your lies for someone else Jin,” the greying man mocked. “You may be able to fool others, but certainly not me. Now tell me where they are. Now.”
My dear lgbt+ kids,
Tumblr is full of people who want to be good people. They want to fight hate. They don’t want to be problematic in any way. And that’s great!
Just sometimes, sadly, trying very hard to not be problematic is..well, problematic in itself.
Our focus should not be on being visibly great people. A certain desire for other people to see how great we are is natural and human. (It’s even beneficial as seeing someone being a kind person will inspire more people to be kind!)
It starts to turn ugly when being kind is not about kindness at all anymore and only about other people seeing how much better! kinder! purer! they are than anyone else.
You’ll come across those people in lgbt+ spaces (especially online) a lot.
They are the ones who send you messages accusing you of being homophobic because you reblogged a “Boys deserve positivity, too” post and didn’t specify you only meant gay boys because obviously saying something positive about straight boys is offensive and problematic and awful and oh my gosh, why do you hate gay boys?? You should be ashamed of yourself!
(Sadly, how much nonsense their accusations are is not always as obvious as in this slightly exaggerated example.)
It often seems like they actually do not care about making the world a better place. They just want to look better than the world.
Of course it is easy to get sucked into that when you just start out with your (lgbt+) activism. The thought “I am a good person” feels rewarding and we human beings thrive with rewards. I can’t really blame them for their desire to attack everyone and everything that could potentially be problematic  - but I do want to point out that blindly attacking each other will never save the world.
And I want to give you, especially when you are young and/or new to lgbt+ (online) spaces a piece of advice: Not every accusation is worth a reply. If someone calls you out, think about what they said and your own behavior, do apologize and change (your choice of words etc) if necessary - but keep in mind that sometimes it’ll be necessary and sometimes it won’t. Sometimes the accusation will be completely baseless, random or a misunderstanding on their part. If you feel like the person just wants to start a fight, the best reply is silence.
Online discussions can be great. Most online fights are not worth your time.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Mom
I was wondering, how much/many of your ideas should you reveal and create up front ad post online and how many should you keep to yourself as an artist? I have all these ideas for like, potential shows (im a student) that would function well as webcomics. But I'd like to be a board artist or show creator. Should I make those webcomics?
Here are your options:
Option 1: Hold onto your ideas
You hold onto your ideas until you can pitch them to executives, even though that may be years and years from now. So if you’re a student right now, that means you’re probably between 18-22. I didn’t get to pitch Infinity Train until I was 27, I didn’t get to make the pilot until I was 29. Now I’m 30 and I’m still waiting around for a possible greenlight. That is 3 years of my life waiting for other people to get moving so I can get moving. If your life goes like mine, that’s 7 years until you’ve made something. One thing. 7 years. How old were you 7 years ago and how many ideas have you had in those 7 years that could also be turned into things? YOU WILL NEVER RUN OUT OF IDEAS.
Something else to keep in mind, I was able to get moving on those ideas because I was working in the industry already, had contacts, and had started building a reputation. If you walk up the front of Nickelodeon or Disney or something and just knock on the door, they’re not going to listen to your pitch. So when will you have those contacts and reputation? How will you build those connections?
Well the first thing you do is start making and producing work. That means, ironically, you gotta start using those ideas you’re holding onto. Why would you expect anyone to want to help make your things if you’re not already making things? That brings me to…
Option 2: Make your ideas
If you don’t have work, then how are people finding out about you? They’re not. You’re not an artist if you’re not making work, you’re just a person with a bunch of thoughts. Lots of things have thoughts. Cows have thoughts. The thing with thoughts is that they’re NOT REAL. It’s all just up in your head. How are you different from any other person? Everybody has ideas, it’s making the idea into a reality that’s the accomplishment.
It’s tempting to not make things. If you make something, then that means it can be a failure and that other people can criticize it. If it remains a thought in your head, then no one can say anything bad about it and it’s just a perfect thing forever that only you know is perfect. You become the person that’s like “Then there’s this guy, he’s got like a sword, and he’s like SWUH! and it’s SO awesome!” and people go: “Wow that sounds fun!” and then you go: “Yeah, I’m gonna make it someday” and they go: “cool!” and then you sit around and waste your life and never make it because why would you? It’s perfect in your head! You already got the compliment from someone, you KNOW there would be fans and people would love it because the version you have in your head is so great! You don’t have to actually prove that it’s a viable idea or that you can even make it because you’ve already done it in your imagination.
Deep down though, you’ll know it’s not true, and it will just make you feel guilty, regretful, and jealous of people who DID actually make and follow through on their ideas. It poisons your soul, then you die, then your guts fertilize some plants which get eaten by a cow, which gets turned into a burger, which gets eaten by an actual artist and used as caloric energy to power their actual artist hands.
————-
I think the real question you should ask yourself is “would I rather see this thing exist than not exist?” Because the fact is, if you want the thing to exist, you have to make it, no one is going to suddenly knock on your door and beg you for your ideas. Don’t sit around and wait for a future that may never come, become an active participant in what you want your future to be.
As my friend Toby once angrily yelled into an empty street one day: “IDEAS ARE FUCKING INFINITE, JUST MAKE THE THING!”
What changes happened during ep 28? I binged read the manga so ..
Anonymous said: I would be so grateful if you tell which chapter is the episode 28?
@lumicuous said: I fully agree and I hope so much they’ll animate it the way it is in the manga! Though, I have a question… what changes in Episode 28 do you mean?
I’m putting all of these together again since they are about the same thing ^^.
Like I said in my other post, I didn’t like those changes. The one who got it worse was Mikasa, but the changes weren’t really good for Eren and Levi either, in my opinion.
But well, to make some sense of what I’m saying I need to explain myself a bit more, so let’s start from the beginning!
The scene I’m talking about is from Chapter 37 of the manga, and was animated on episode 28 with some changes.
During this scene, Levi talks to Eren, Armin, and Mikasa and gives them instructions about what to do next, since they’re going to go separate ways. This scene occurs during the cart ride.
Levi first tells Eren he has to succeed no matter what. And just after that he addresses Armin and Mikasa. We got the first part in the anime quite well, so I can’t complain about that.
But in the anime, they moved the other part of the conversation to a scene later on. Levi then talks to Armin in a similar way as in the manga, but when he talks to Mikasa, is when the issues start. This is what originally Levi said to Mikasa:
This dialogue did happen in the anime scene more or less accurately. But in the manga, he continued and told her this:
This part was changed in the anime, and Levi told this to Eren instead.
“And finally… Eren.
Learn how to restrain yourself.
Don’t succumb to rage and lose sight of the goal.
We can’t afford another mistake”.
“Yes, sir!”
This… changes a lot of things.
The reason Levi said this to Mikasa in the first place is because how she acted in the encounter with the female titan in the forest. She tried to attack her even if Levi told her not to. For Levi, saving Eren was the priority. He let this very clear to Mikasa during that time, and he is doing it again now. Because of Mikasa’s actions, Levi got injured. What Levi meant with these words was that her attachment to Eren is precisely what can backfire for her and put him at risk. She has to make protecting Eren her priority no matter what, and for that she has to keep a clear head and avoid getting carried out by her rage.
Mikasa is not going to forget about this conversation, and this exchange is going to be very important to her development. Many people did not like this change, and have explained the reasons extensively since then, so I won’t go much into it, since I’m trying to focus on Eren and Levi here.
Because for me, this scene in the manga was also very important for Eren and Levi’s relationship because it showed how Levi always put Eren first, and how he made sure to let clear his safety was the most important thing, just before they separated. He wanted to make sure Eren was protected properly now that he couldn’t do it himself. It doesn’t matter if you see Levi’s intentions as caused by duty, or by personal feelings; it’s a fact that he puts Eren’s safety as the most important thing.
Also, the way Levi’s face changes in the anime when talking to Eren compared with Armin and Mikasa didn’t help either. He speaks to them very calmly, but when it’s time to talk to Eren, suddenly his face gets… (I’m not going to discuss the animation because, lol) I don’t know what’s that, but he’s not happy! Here’s a comparison:
Of course to anyone who enjoys Eren and Levi’s relationship, these changes will be already a sad thing on itself. But what it personally bothered me by this change, (and the whole reason of this post lol) was the fandom reaction, especially by people who haven’t read the manga and get their vision of Eren and Levi’s relationship from the anime only.
And the reason is simple: Why would Levi say this to Eren? The conclussion many people reached was that this was caused by Eren’s decision in the forest, and the death of Levi’s squad.
I completely disagree with this.
Levi gave Eren the choice to do what he thought was best. He has repeated again and again how no one can know the outcome of that choice. Levi would never blame Eren for the death of his squad this way, he would not refer to it as a mistake, or something that happened because of Eren’s rage. I repeat,
Levi would never blame Eren for the death of his squad!
Even more when this has been already discussed between them. Remember this scene from Chapter 32?
So why then, the anime makes Levi talk to Eren like that? The most likely reason and the theory I agree with the most, is that this is because the anime also changed the final battle with the female titan in Stohess, and made Eren lose control, go into berserker mode, etc. So then, it makes sense for Levi to say this to Eren in the anime. In the context on the anime alone, this change is justified, even if this never happened in the manga.
So in my opinion, if I’m going to judge the changes just by that, they really aren’t a big deal in regards of Eren and Levi. I understand that the anime has to make changes from the manga to be able to adapt it, and it’s not going to be an exact copy of it. But, like I said before, the way some part of the fandom reacted to this is what upset me and why I wished they had never made this change.
There are people who think Levi hates Eren because of the death of his squad. Who think of Eren as just a bundle of rage who can’t control himself, it’s always yelling/crying, etc. The anime exagerates this a lot in many occasions. Levi telling him this, with that expression, did not help at all on that regard. I saw comments saying how Eren “is always messing everything up” and “it’s obvious Levi is fed up with him”. And usually those comments are followed by some remark like “how can people still ship ereri omg”.
So yeah… this is why this change is annoying to me, haha.
In the original scene, when everyone is asking Eren if he’s going to be able to seal the hole, Levi realizes he is uncomfortable, pressured, and he speaks to reassure him, he gives him encouragement and motivation, and he does this calmly, without getting angry at him. He never blames him for any mistakes or talks about his rage. That’s how Levi and Eren’s relationship actually is for me, and I hope more people saw it that way, too.
Spidey’s Got a Girlfriend?!
“I promise I’ll be there,” Peter spoke, and Tony over heard him on the phone. Tony leaned against the door frame to his office where Peter stood taking his phone call.
“Hey, I apologized for last time… I know… I can’t wait… I-I love you too. Bye” Peter hung up, a smile tugging at his lips. The boy looked absolutely love sick, it made Tony smile a little.
“Was that your girlfriend?” Tony asked as he walked in.
“Ah! Mr. Stark, how long were you right there?” Peter whirled around to look at Tony. Tony rose an eyebrow, his smile only growing.
“Not long. Tell me about the girl,” Tony sauntered into his office and sat behind his desk. Peter was absolutely red in the face and obviously looking for any way out of this conversation.
“What girl?” Peter played dumb.
“Come on, kid. You’ve got to be a better liar than that to fool me… unless it’s not a girl, which is fine. Tell me about them.”
Peter sighed and sat in one of the chairs on the other side of Tony’s desk. He was still obviously blushing, “She’s from my school, and we’ve been dating for a while.”
“How long?”
“Six months.”
“Jesus, I don’t think I had a relationship that lasted longer than six days when I was your age. How do you do it?” Tony say up, suddenly fascinated by the conversation. He thought maybe this was a two week thing, something casual, and the ‘I love you’ that was exchanged was premature and naïve. However after learning the time frame of the relationship he had to rethink that; maybe it was sincere.
“She’s really great,” Peter mumbled, still obviously embarrassed.
“Well where are you taking this great girl? And why haven’t I met her? Does your Aunt know about her?”
“Yeah Aunt May knows and we’re going to the art museum. She likes to make fun of the classics. And I guess you haven’t met her because I didn’t think you wanted to. ”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“I dunno, you’re busy, I guess. And it’s just a normal thing, not a super hero thing.”
Tony suddenly felt kind of bad about that. He wanted to know these things, if only because he was nosey. At that moment, he decided the previous matters on which this meeting was called on was no longer important. He wanted to know all about Peter’s girlfriend, and this date they were supposed to be having. This was kind of big. First loves were important right? People married their high school sweet hearts all the time. Sure those marriages often ended in divorce but sometimes they don’t. Tony realized there was so much wisdom he needed to share with Peter. Were they being safe, taking the proper precautions so they didn’t ruin their future with a baby?!
“Okay, kid,” Tony inhaled sharply, trying to put his spiraling thoughts to rest, “Tell me all about this girl.”
Peter eventually had to leave to go on his date, but Tony just wasn’t satisfied with simply hearing about the girl. So he called in someone who understood the concept of trusting no one and treating everyone like they’re suspicious.
“Hey Natasha,” he spoke on the phone.
“What, Stark?”
“So Underoos has a girlfriend.”
“Yeah, her name is Y/N.”
“You already searched her up?”
“No Peter told me about her, the time you asked me to keep an eye on him while you were in Mumbai.”
“He just told you about her?!”
“He needed advice on what kind of flowers to get her. If it makes you feel better, I also did some background checks and things like that on her. She’s an average student, she’s a part of few little clubs, most notably she’s on the newspaper. She’s got some award winning articles too. I think she wants to be a journalist.”
“They’ve been together six months Natasha.”
“I know, tonight is there six month anniversary. They’re going to a couple of museums. They’re at the art museum right now.”
“… Are you trailing them?”
“Of course I am. This Y/N girl is great for him, I can’t let him screw it up.”
Tony was quiet for a beat, “I’ll meet you there.”
Tony and Natasha watched from far off  at the two teens. They held hands as they walked through the art museum. She pointed at a painting and said something that made Peter laugh. Tony put in an ear piece that allowed him to hear what the two was saying.
“I’m just saying, Daphne turned into a fucking tree,” Y/N laughed, “Ancient Greek mythology is fucked up.”
“She swears a lot,” Tony grumbled, he looked over to Natasha to see her smiling a little, “Natasha!” he chastised.
“What? It’s kind of funny.”
The couple kept walking. Y/N rested her head on Peter’s shoulder as they went to the next painting. It was of Sappho and her many lovers. Y/N read the description in front of the painting aloud.
“ Sappho and a close friend, huh?” she said sarcastically.
“Mmhm, just two gals being pals,” Peter agreed.
“Oh yeah, because I kiss my girl friends on the mouth all the time. No homo, dude.”
“Definitely not. Sappho was just a woman who was close friends with a lot of other women.”
“Yeah, nothing gay about that, dude. She totally wasn’t a lesbian.”
“Oh no definitely not.”
They were both starting to laugh, because the picture in front of them was so blatantly gay. Y/N continued on about how historians will go to any lengths to make things heterosexual. Natasha was trying to keep it together and not outright laugh at the things Y/N said. Tony was trying very hard not to instantly like Y/N, because he didn’t even know this girl, but he couldn’t help but to smile every time Peter laughed.  Peter was just a kid in love with her, and he so rarely embraced being a kid. He was trying to be more mature so he could be a better super hero, but these precious moments of youth were passing him by. He couldn’t help but to think Y/N was good for him. Y/N and Peter got to a particular sculpture in which she tried to mimic the pose the statue was in. It was admittedly a complete failure, but Peter tried to. He was no closer to matching the pose than she was.  They laughed at their mutual failure and continued on. They eventually left the art museum and got lunch together.
“She’s a good kid,” Natasha assured as they sat with their coffee al fresco across the street from the restaurant the two of you went in to.
“Well I didn’t think she’d be bad… just maybe not right for Peter. He’s a sweet kid, and people like to crush kindness when they find it.”
“This girl has been with him for six months, and do you know how many times Peter has cancelled plans with her to go save someone in need. She doesn’t even know he’s Spider-Man. She just trusts that whatever he’s doing is important… so if anyone is going to get hurt in all of this… it’s probably her.”
“How many times has he cancelled.”
“14,” Natasha over articulated then took a sip of her coffee.
“Jesus,” Tony sighed.
“Yep, and she’s still here.”
“He should tell her.”
“I think so too, but he’ll only take so much advice from me. But you know how much being a superhero can strain on a relationship, maybe he’d take the advice better from you.”
Tony turned his head and watched as Y/N pulled out a box from her purse. He listened in on their conversation.
“I know we both agreed not to get each other presents until our year anniversary, but I saw this and I thought of you,” Y/N spoke.
Peter went to speak, obviously about to chastise her for getting him a gift but she held up a hand to stop him.
“I didn’t spend a dime on it.”
Peter opened the box and a smile took over his face. It was a super old polaroid camera that 1977 would soon be calling for.
“You know now that I think about it… that’s probably worth a lot of money,” she spoke offhandedly, “But I don’t use it anymore, and I know you’ve been collecting cameras so…just promise me you won’t sell it.” she shrugged again. Tony could tell she was trying to seem casual about the gift, but she’d probably spent days trying to figure out what to get Peter.
“Of course I’m not going to sell it. How did you just have this?”
“It was a gift from my grandma,” she sighed, Peter motioned to give it back, “No, you keep it. I never use it, and my grandma would have wanted someone to use that camera, and love it the way you love the rest of your cameras.”
“… I will,” he gave her a soft smile. He put the camera’s strap around his neck. He then reached into his own pocket to get a small box.
“Looks like neither of us can follow directions,” Peter smiled ruefully as he slid the box to her.
“God dammit, Parker. I wanted to be the master gift giver this time,” she joked as she took the box. She undid the bow around it and opened the box. She looked up at him, confused by the content of the box, or rather surprised.
“Pete.”
“It’s a uh… a promise ring,” Peter was red again, “Not to get too intense or anything… it’s just that I know it bothers you that I cancel a lot… even though you don’t say anything about it. I just wanted to show you that I really do want to keep you forever.”
“Oh god that’s so sweet, I’m gonna throw up,” Natasha groaned.
“Jeez, who raised this kid.” Tony complained looking away from the scene he thought to be cringe worthy, because of course that was too much for a high school relationship. It was entirely too much.
“His aunt is a hopeless romantic.” Natasha explained.
“You’re gonna make me cry, Pete,” Y/N spoke and as she did she seemed to already be dabbing tears from her eyes.
“Oh wow, she’s into it,” Tony said surprised by the turn of events. Peter pulled his own ring on as Y/N put on hers. Y/N leaned over the table and kissed Peter. It wasn’t one of those long winded kisses that Rom-Coms glorify, it was sweet and simple.
“Ew this is too sweet. I think I’m getting diabetes just from watching it,” Tony complained but he didn’t look away. As Y/N sat back on her side of the booth, Peter put his camera up and snapped a picture of her.
“Pete,” she complained.
“I want to remember this moment forever,” He explained as he pulled the picture from the little slot and shook it absently.
“Yeah but I’ve still got tears in my eyes,” she laughed a little. Peter smiled as he looked down at the slowly forming picture.
“You look beautiful,” Peter assured turning the picture toward her.
“We’ve got another museum to go to, silly boy,” she reminded, “We can’t spend forever here.”
Tony came back to himself at her words. He and Natasha should go. They should allow Peter the youthful innocence of his first love without prying eyes.
I loved your story about God and Lucifer.
I’m glad! I was excited when @writing-prompt-s reblogged it and was equally excited when I saw that people were enjoying reading it!  I’ve gotten so many wonderful comments about that story and it’s just made my week :)
Now, peripherally related to this post, I want to say one thing and that’s that the best prompts are ones that make you feel. Hone in on why it makes you feel a certain way and use it.  One of my most successful stories was a prompt fill that I call Parent Points (X). I wrote that because the idea of children being purchased infuriated me. And when I thought more about it, I realized that there’s a lot more about the system that makes me angry.
I would never have written anything like parent points, would never have gotten the opportunity to learn as much as I have in the process of writing it, would never have reached so many people if I hadn’t seen that prompt. I am deeply thankful that I got that opportunity to think and create something that’s resonated with so many people. And that’s all because that prompt made me think.
So I really want to encourage people to look at prompts that make them angry and ask why. And then write a story about why because it helps
nerd!jimin + unknown territory (pt3)
Jimin stared at the larvae sitting across from him, warily, it was currently trying to eat spaghetti with a knife. He should probably stop it, but that meant touching the thing and then he would—
“Stop looking at my kid like that.” You roll your eyes before replacing her knife with a fork and watching a happy little grin stretch across her face.
“Like what?” Jimin clears his throat.
“Like you’re having an entire internal monologue listing all the reasons you’ll never have kids.” You mutter, using a napkin to wipe stray sauce from Mina’s face.
“I’m not doing that.” He says and he shrinks when you pin him with a hard stare, “What? I’m not! I did that on the drive over here – now I’m just watching in mild fascination at the eating habits of—”
“Oh my God.”
“I’m kidding! I’m kidding!” He laughs when you move to get up, he tugs you back down by the wrist and you ignore the butterflies erupting your chest when he takes a second too long to remove his hand, “Will you relax already? You’ve barely spoken to me since we’ve ordered. Tell me about yourself, how have you been how did all of this happen?”
“It’s not exactly exciting.” You sigh, “It’s actually a very long story.”
“Let’s start with the basics then – are you still with her father?” Jimin lowers his voice, sparing Mina a glance.
“He left about as soon as I took the pregnancy test so no.” You laugh bitterly, picking up your own slice of pizza to dig in.
You watch helplessly as Mina nearly swipes her pasta off the table but Jimin is on top of it, grabbing her bowl before it makes its crash landing and sending the little girl a stern look before handing her back her fork. She grins unabashedly.
“Do I know him?” Jimin queries, keeping a careful eye on the brat now that she’s decided to make toys out of the cutlery. He sighs but waves over the waitress, “Do you guys have like one of those coloring sheets for kids or something?”
“Sorry sir.” The waitress sends an apologetic smile before moving to refill everyone’s water. Jimin glares but begrudgingly unlocks his phone before opening one of the few games he has stored.
“She’ll crack your phone.” You say mildly, watching in only half amusement as Jimin glares at your daughter when she keeps pressing buttons.
“I’ll buy a new one.” He snaps before he remembers he supposed to be wooing you.
It was too easy, too easy to fall back into the pattern of your old friendship.
You had begrudgingly agreed to dinner with him, only because in turn he allowed you to pick the restaurant, a quaint little mom and pop pizza parlor not too far from your office that you frequented. It wasn’t anything he was used to, at least not in light of recent events and his acquisition of millions, but it was good. One of those places that hand made their crust, they were popular and bustling with business but still managed to find a seat for you. Jimin took quick notice of the warm, familiar smiles sent your way from the old man working the front of house, going as far to boop the little girl you were toting, on one cherub cheek.
He was scared someone might break into his car in this neighborhood and you could only roll your eyes because this place was a suburban dream compared to where you stayed.
“No you don’t know him.” You say when you find your heart doing weird floppy things at the sight of your daughter and Jimin interacting so causally – it was something you wanted to erase from your memory because it hurt. “He was some guy I met at college, well before I dropped out to take care of Mina.”
“And your parents?” He asks, a frown marring his face at the thought.
“Disowned me when I wouldn’t abort her.” You shrug as though the words didn’t feel like nails clawing their way up your throat – an old wound re-opened but you feigned indifference pretty well now a days. Even you almost believed your lies.
“So who helps you? You don’t get child support or—”
“Jimin.” You say softly, because it’s in your nature to treat him with kid gloves on, even if he is overstepping, “I’ve been doing this for a while now. It’s tough but I manage. I’m fine – we’re fine. Now can we talk about something less, I don’t know, depressing.”
Jimin lets out a long suffering sigh but he relents with a curt nod, you don’t miss the way the muscle in his jaw jumps – and what a chiseled jaw it’s become over time. You nearly lose track staring at it.
“Where do you work at now?” He asks, momentarily distracted by a piece of cheese hanging from his chin. He lets out an expletive before wincing at Mina.
You stifle a grin because it’s so much like the old Jimin you couldn’t help the elation that bubbled over in your chest. Instead you choose to rest your chin in your palm while watching him.
“I sale time shares at a realty office, though I’m sure you already know that since you tracked me down and sent me gifts.” You murmur dryly when he smiles, “It was very Tony Stark of you.”
“That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me.” Jimin says honestly, putting a hand over his heart.
“Mmm.” You hum sarcastically, “So how are your parents, living lavish at the hands of their millionaire son I assume?”
“Living lavish.” He scoffs, “You’ve met my parents. My mom barely let me renovate our old house and only did so because I threw a bitch fit that she wouldn’t accept the beachside bungalow I had lined up for them.”
You grin at the thought of a very stern and self sufficient Mrs. Park arguing with her mogul son, because she probably won… but still you making tsking noise anyway.
“Well, in her defense you can be a bit… frivolous with your spending.” You say, nodding towards the bag of gifts seated next to him.
“I work damn hard to be frivolous. You two always did love ganging up on me.” He glared, “You’re so much like her it’s scary.”
“It’s why she loved me.” You tease back. “I’m her favorite child, even Jihyunnie has accepted it.”
Something changes in his face and his expression is softening. You scramble to change the topic because you knew how easy it was to get caught up in the old days, where things were much easier and there was less pressure on you, less weighing on your mind.
“How is he now?” You ask suddenly and Jimin’s features shutter closed – back to the calm, cool and collected Jimin that had picked you up.
“He’s doing good. He’ll graduate in a year.” He says mildly, “He’s still a brat and beating me up on visits.”
“I would hope so. You need someone to keep you grounded, remind you where you came from.” You harrumph.
“They miss you, you know.” Jimin says quietly, suddenly unable to meet your gaze. He’s taken to staring at Mina who was currently taking about a thousand pictures with his front camera. “My mom misses you. You know how she always complained about being the only woman in the house.”
He looks up at you and it’s your turn to look away. Because you had shoved back so many memories that were associated with him, but now sitting here at dinner, reminiscing it was easy to remember the bond you shared with the elder Park. It was something you also couldn’t have back and again, it hurt knowing that.
“I’m sure she’d love to see you again—love to meet Mina too.” He says softly.
“Jimin.” You say curtly and he returns your tone.
“____.”
“I don’t think that's—”
“You think too much is the problem.” He sighs, before signaling the waitress for the check, “Just because you… because we ended on rough terms… I know it’s a lot to ask but, I hope you don’t hold that against my parents. You were great to have around and they miss you. I’ve never gotten so much shit over something in my life—you would think that we were actually dating.”
You averted your gaze for the millionth time that night because it was true. Though there was no official label between the two of you, you were caught in an open limbo between more than friends but not quite dating. Even if Jimin couldn’t admit a lot of things to himself he was forced to acknowledge that things had been almost domestic between the two of you – between the sheer amount of time you spent over at each other’s places, or in his bed, lazing around doing nothing. When his parents would ask for his whereabouts it was always the same—
“____.” He says quietly, before handing his credit card off to the server, “Think about what I said, yeah?”
“I will.” You reply with a stiff smile.
The silence that was once comfortable between the two of you had some how shifted to a stilted, and unwelcome one at the mention of the past. You find yourself fidgeting in your seat at the weight of his words, because despite it all it was something that you desperately wanted as well.
“Tell me more about your job,” Jimin says, returning the topic to a lighter subject, it didn’t take a genius to notice how tense you’d gotten at the mention of seeing his family again.
“I’m sure it’s not as exciting as being a billionaire.” You say off handedly, going to sip at your wine.
Millionaire.” Jimin corrects and you scoff at him, “But being rich isn’t as exciting as you’d expect either.”
“How very modest of you,” you roll your eyes before sucking at your teeth, “I would kill for middle class these days.”
“I could help you get there.” He says lightly with a shrug and your spine straightens, “Not a hand out, a job, ____. I looked into your company the other day—”
“You did what?” You ask, indignantly.
And just like that the switch had been flipped again and you were on your guard.
“Is this really a surprise, you knew I was looking for you, it only makes sense that I would check the companies shares and stocks while I was at it. I know you don’t believe me, but we’re friends and I wanted to make sure that you were doing okay for yourself.”
“No Jimin, we were friends ten years ago.” You correct, ears turning pink at his audacity, “And I know you’re out of practice but friends ask friends how they’re doing, they don’t run a financial background check on them.”
“Hey, I didn’t run a financial background check on you,” he scoffs, “I didn’t even peek at your credit score even though it was right their in front of me.”
You threw your napkin down on the table before narrowing your eyes at him, “You’re a real ass you know that?”
“That may be true but you know as well as I do that you wouldn’t be half as defensive if it weren’t for the fact that the companies going
bankrupt.” He says calmly but his knuckles going white around his grip on the table cloth, “They’re going under and you have—”
“Five maybe six months left there, I’m well aware.” You scowl, “but that doesn’t give you the right to invade my privacy like this. And besides, a job? Let me guess you want me to be your assistant so you can bend me over and —”
You chance a look at Mina, who’s still well engrossed with the apps on Jimin’s phone and let out an exasperated sigh.
“You’re lucky if you have four months there.” He says mildly, “Looking at their financial statements I can tell they barely have enough to pay you minimum wage, so let me guess you’ve been working there for going on six years and you’ve yet to get a pay increase am I right?”
“God, you’re so condescending.” You laugh bitterly.
“Only when I’m right.” He says, “And for the record, you wouldn’t be working for me. If you think I stand chance getting any work done while you’re around you’d be delusional. I have a friend who owns a small law firm, he’s looking for a secretary and you’ve had more than enough experience doing clerical work.”
“Your head must be impossibly thick if I have to say this again but I don’t need your help,” you glare.
“Think about Mina.” He argues.
“I am thinking about Mina,” you say, much louder than you intend. You clear your throat before lowering your voice, “She’s the only thing I think about and you don’t get to bulldoze in ten years later and try to pick up where things left off. We’re not in high school anymore. This is real life, it’s my life.”
“You’re right, we’re not in high school anymore but things sure haven’t changed, have they?” He spat, “You still have to be in control of everything.”
“Of my life? Yes! Of my daughters life? You bet your ass.” You scowl.
“Fine. You’re coming across loud and clear, you don’t need or want my help.” He says, pinching the bridge of his nose, “But at least—”
He stops mid sentence when the shrill ring of your phone pierces through the otherwise comfortably quiet restaurant and you’re shuffling through your purse for your phone. You look up at him before sighing, “It’s work. I have to take this.”
“Hello? Yes, hi Mr. Kim.” You’re already rising to your feet when one chubby hand comes up to clutch your shirt.
“Momma,” Mina calls and it garners both your attention, “It was an accident.”
“Oh no.” You sigh, a frown marring your face as you go to your knees to collect the remainder of spaghetti off the floor, the rest found their way all down the front of her little tank top and you groan, “I’m sorry not you sir, I just—yes I understand the severity of this contract I…. yes sir I'm—”
“Go.” Jimin mouths, before shooing you away with the flick of his wrist. You stare up at him wide eyed, phone still pressed to your ear and an indecisive look marring your face.
Jimin sighs but rises to his feet, lifting you with him and all but pushing you in the direction of the exit before he’s turning to Mina. You send a curt nod of gratitude at him before bustling out and attempting to placate your boss on the phone.
Jimin has never carried a child before. He has especially never carried one covered nearly head to toe in an Italian red sauce delicacy. He had however carried a sack of potatoes and gauging the insufferable little brats weight, she was about the same size. So he applies all the knowledge he’s accumulated in twenty some years of carrying groceries into the house for his mother and keeps the little girl at a giggling arm’s length from his body while he fast walks into the men’s room.
He’s already had her set down on the porcelain countertop before his gaze catches on something in the mirror. A man maybe in his mid twenties is staring at him from the urinal. Jimin’s brows slash down at the inquisitive look before sending him a nod, “What? You’ve never seen a kid before?”
The man is a flurry of movement, zipping up his jeans before sending an apologetic bow at Jimin and shuffling out of the room.
Jimin sighs at the sweet smile Mina’s sending his way, an adorable dimple winking at him, before he rolls his eyes and swipes at her glasses lens where a stray splatter of meat sauce has found its way. He sends her a stern look, “Yah. I bet that smiles gotten you out of a lot of trouble. It won’t work on me.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose in exasperation as you try and explain to your boss for maybe the millionth time (that night) why the Henderson case you got handed a week ago wasn’t moving as quickly as he’d like it.
For all it was worth your boss wasn’t a bad guy, and the company you worked for didn’t cheat you out of money the way Jimin had made it sound. Now, did you deserve a raise after all the time and hours you had put in? Did you need it? Hell yes. But things weren’t always black and white, in fact your entire life seemed to be sat in one huge area of gray.
The company you worked for was family owned and every person in it was sweet, soft hearted, and genuine and all things considered those were good traits to have—except when you were working in the realty field. It was cut throat and competitive. More than once you had seen your boss caught up with loan sharks, renting out time shares at a discounted price to homeless shelters. And then there was the fact that he was just a tad dimwitted, but your heart had gone soft for the old man that had taken both you and Mina under his wing. So you owed him that. You couldn’t give him much but loyalty anyway.
When you returned to the restaurant with a headache you hadn’t had five minutes ago, you look for Jimin to apologize but your footsteps stutter and your heart drops to your belly when you see the two seats still vacant. You turn to the hostess and nearly fall into hysteria when she tells you they left.
Your phone chimes.
Unknown [7:23:45]: meet us at Fro-zone
“What did I say?” Jimin scowls, “One scoop.”
“But Jiminnie,”
“Your moms gonna kick my ass if I—”
“Jimin.” You call out, hair wind blown from the jog over here and when you meet his gaze he tips his head up at you in acknowledgement.
He was hunched over a whining Mina who had shed her white tank top in place of a pink shirt with a sparkling heart in the middle. He was looking at her sternly and if you weren’t careful you would mistake Mina for one of his business associates with the way he was carefully explaining to her why she couldn’t have more than a handful of sugar before bed—it involved you and him in an oiled up cage match which he would inevitably lose.
You took that as your cue to step in.
“Momma!” She cried gleefully, “Where’d you go?”
“Where did you go?” You retort, poking a finger at her protruding belly and making her jump back with a giggle, “I like your shirt.”
“Jiminnie picked it out!” she grins proudly and Jimin sends a dry look your direction.
“It was either this or the neon pink sweater with seven bows on it and a giant pop up unicorn head—I don’t care how old your kid is, not even she could pull off something so ridiculous.”
“She likes pink.” You shrug but Jimin spots the mirth in your eyes.
“Jiminnie knows a lot of bad words.” Mina tattles and Jimin glares at the little demon. “He owes like ten dollars to the swear jar.”
“The fee’s twenty five scents a swear word just how much did you cuss with my kid?” You cock a brow.
“Is that the only way you’re accepting money?” He retorts with a snarky expression, “Let me stick around after you put Mina to bed and I’ll give you enough material for her college fund.”
You grin but don’t say anything as he leads you to his car.
It isn’t all that much later when he pulls up to your car in the parking garage. A glance back in his rearview tells you that Mina is out cold and you sigh with the thought that she is way too big to be getting carried anymore. You turn in your seat to wake her up but Jimin shakes his head at you before opening his car door and heading to the back.
It’s probably the fact that a man hasn’t carried Mina since she was born that attributes more to the pain in your chest than it is that it’s Jimin. Jimin of all people putting a sturdy hand on the back of your daughters head and tucking her tiny glasses in his hand so she doesn’t hurt her face. He waits for you to unlock the door to your car before setting her down in her car seat and leaving you to buckle her in.
He’s still holding her specs when you turn back to him, fiddling with a small scratch on one of the lenses before handing them back to you.
You can’t quite put a finger on the atmosphere that resonates in the otherwise abandoned parking garage—nonetheless words find their way to your lips that you had no intent of sharing with him.
“I’ll take you up on your offer.” You utter.
“The job?” He brightens at your words and you wince.
“No,” you say quietly. “I… maybe if me and Mina have time we’ll stop by your parents sometime. I’m sure your Mom would love to meet her.”
His expression doesn’t dull at your words, if anything it only gets that much brighter at he mention of his parents and for the briefest of moments your caught up in your old feelings, because this was too much like the old Jimin. The one who wore his heart on his sleeve, and was never sly or cool or charming in a way that wasn’t dorky.
“You really mean that?”
“It couldn’t hurt to rekindle that relationship.” You shrug.
Could it?
Victor & Victor - Museum Guide
The secret guide is lead by Victor and…. Victor! (Young Victor)
The guide starts off with both Victors greeting the listener, and Young Victor inviting the listener to come and play with them in the museum. He asks how many times the listener has come to the museum (-ahem- six times) and wonders if it was done especially just to meet him.
Victor thanks the listener and they both say “spasibo!”
Victor asks what brought the listener to the museum so many times and then asserts that “it must be love.”
In the costume area, they compliment everything on display and talk about the costumes of each skater.
Young Victor asks which of the GPF costumes would look best on him, and Victor answers that Chris’s short program outfit would suit him well.
Young Victor remarks that Yurio’s Agape outfit used to be his, even if now it belongs to Yurio.
Victor says that he really likes Yuuri’s FS costume, then adds that he thinks that the outfit looks best on Yuuri (implying that no one else would look as good in it).
Young Victor comments that Phichit’s SP Thai-style one looks really fun, and then Victor says that Otabek’s FS costume is cool.
Young Victor: And JJ’s is… eh, okay? Kinda annoying looking.
Victor: If you wear that one, you have to do the JJ Style pose.
Young Victor then asks which of all the season’s costumes Victor would most like to wear. Victor says that Young Victor’s choice is probably the same as his…
Both Victors: 3… 2… 1… Seung-gil’s short program costume! Seung-sational!
(The rainbow parrot looking one, ahahahahha)
As they move into the Victor area of the museum, Victor asks the listener again how many times they’ve visited and says that they’re probably bored of seeing it all by now.
Young Victor offers up a game of impersonations, imitating different characters and asking the listener to guess who each are. Together the two Victors impersonate Yakov, Lilia, Yurio, and Yuuri.
YV as Yakov: *grumbling* How many times do I have to tell you doing quad flips is not good for your growing body? If you can’t follow instruction, you should quit!
V as Lilia: Strength is nothing without beauty
YV as Yurio: I’ll turn you into borscht, piggy! I’m the Russian Ice Tiger!
V as Yuuri: Have more faith in me than I have in myself! Stay by my side and never leave.
After they’re done with the impersonations, the Victors begin to say lots of romantic lines and confessions, one after the one.
“I love you.”
“I want to embrace you.”
“I want to be with you forever.”
“I want to kiss you.”
“I can’t imagine ever being without you.”
“I will never be able to forget you.”
“Please stay by my side.”
“I love you so much.”
And it turns out they are talking about… Makkachin! The Victors then start barking. Starting off cute and descending into louder and louder barks, with some howls.
“Wan wan wan wan wan wan WAN!”
Victor asks if the listener knows everything about the museum, as they’ve visited so many times. He asks what they’re thinking about and says he bets that it’s him. Then says that Yuuri is also probably on their mind, that their mind has been “yurified”. Young Victor mentions Yurio, but follows it up with mentioning that Yurio would probably mad and that “his middle finger would go up.”
Victor goes on to say that Georgi also probably pops up in their thoughts, and that it isn’t something to be ashamed of because everyone has a Georgi in their mind. He says that if the Georgi gets out of control, to imagine a Yakov to help guide them through. If that doesn’t help, he advises the listener to think only of him, because Victor can make you forget about everything other than himself.
(This section was rather weird, I feel like I was missing something)
The Victors finish off the guide with general thanks, and say that the two of them had a lot of fun with the listener.
Victor then says he has one final request and asks, “Why don’t we make history together?”
History Maker starts to play in the background as both Victor state, “We were born to make history!” together in Japanese and close off the guide with a “See you next level!”
I'm in the verge of being NaruSaku fan.. please give me some light on SasuSaku ;_;
[Click on my blog to read more. The tag doesn’t show my full post]
1.) SasuSaku is not typical. Their dynamic is unique. They are much more than the typical hero/heroine bff dynamic you always see in almost every shounen. Much more than a mary sue falling inlove with a dense marty-stu. They are a heroine and antagonist striving to find their way back to eachother; but failing throughout the story because of the circumstances they were both put in:
2.) Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke got the most focus than any other character’s feelings for another.
And Sasuke got focus on wanting to come back but not doing so due to his goals of revenge:
3.) Naruto didn’t want to confess his feelings for Sakura because he recognized that her feelings for Sasuke were much stronger than his feelings for her. That’s why he said that he felt like he couldn’t “confess” his feelings to her until he brought Sasuke back:
Maybe he had already realized that he didn’t really have a chance. And maybe even because had already seen the possibility of her feelings being returned:
which is why he leaves the room in this scene and peeks when he comes back just to make sure that it’s okay to come back and not interrupt something. He was being considerate, like Tsunade said:
4.) SasuSaku was planned from the very beginning of the series(before its conclusion) with minor slips of thoughts here and there; but despite everything Kishimoto admitted to always be thinking about SasuSaku’s union and how it would be so he sticked to what he was for in the beginning. He thought that Sakura suddenly loving Naruto wouldn’t fit her since she has loved Sasuke for so long. Suddenly loving Naruto solely because he was the easier option and a hero to the village would make her a horrible character. It would have made her shallow and out of character in the writer’s eyes. Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke were meant to be the spring that waits for the end of winter:
They were meant to be unwavering with no specific reason behind her love. If a person solely loved someone who lacked love because of a reason and that reason were to disappear it would be pretty sad if one of the few people who truly loved him stopped loving him because the reason was no longer there. Especially because Sakura’s love was warmth to Sasuke:
They were “the first” thing that “saved him” from “his darkness”.
She was “the first” person that “saved him” from “his darkness”.
“…when his heart was about to be swallowed by Orochimaru’s wicked cursed seal again, he was rescued by Sakura…“ - Databook 1
“Sakura willingly and bravely calms the rampaging Sasuke under the influence of the cursed seal. Sakura’s heart, thinking of Sasuke, devours the wicked power.” -Databook 1
Notice how Kishimoto uses “heart” when talking about what they felt and meant to each other. Her heart was what rescued his heart. She was the one” who filled his lonely existence with the emotion called love:
Naruto and Kakashi may have also been there for him and it was constantly stated that they were also obviously important to him. So we can only assume that Kishi only quoted Sakura here because their bond was more than just platonic. It wasn’t nothing like sns or ks bond. Sasuke has never had these type of moments with anyone else but Sakura:
And Sasuke never considered the idea of playing at romance with anyone else other than Sakura. When Sakura told him that she loved him and that she wanted things to go back the way they “used to be” he “equated that” as playing at romance with her despite the fact of no one mentioning that he had to return her feelings:
So it was obvious that there was/had been something romantic growing/and going on between them.
5.) Sasuke cared enough about Sakura to be able to read her. He was able to read between her feelings “first”:
And cheered her up “first”:
Naruto wasn’t able to read her until part two
And it was only when she made her feelings obvious,she didn’t try to hide them much, and he was paying attention:
(Here he responds by saying that Sasuke will come back and Sakura then thanks him internally[sorry, i cant find the panel])
Maybe he had kept being considerate of her feelings throughout the story; but once she fake confessed to him out of guilt and blame (thanks sai -_-) and she hinted that he should just drop the promise, he got mad at her and told her to stop lying to herself. He then proceeded by telling Sakura that she wasn’t even doing even doing it/or exhausting himself for her; but because Sasuke was his friend (a friend that was like a brother to him). And even tho it was obvious that at least part of the reason was for her, it wasn’t fully because of and for her like so many ns fans claim:
After the fakession of guilt, he really didn’t pay too much attention to Sakura’s feelings anymore not until he saw how much she still cared because she voiced her feelings out loud. That’s when he rethought his promise to her and was re-determined to fight for both of them. For both of Sasuke’s and Sakura’s sake.
He didn’t realize how much Sakura was suffering because she loved Sasuke and he only went back to keeping his promise to her once kakashi pointed her pain out:
6.) I’m not denying the fact that ns had a strong bond or that Naruto’s feelings weren’t shallow; but their bond was always mostly focused on trying to bring Sasuke back. Not romance. And Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke were always highlighted to hint that they were much stronger than Naruto’s feelings for her:
[i’m pretty sure i missed much more moments than this; but you get the point]
7.) SasuSaku happening was obvious due to Sasuke hinting to actually wanting to be with team 7. And that meant to going back to the bonds that he himself acknowledged that existed:
So his redemption was to be expected especially after it was foreshadowed through our heroine’s eyes:
Coming back home meant laughing next to his brother in arms, his teacher, and the girl who filled his lonely existence with love and looked like “his lover” at a certain point in the writer’s eyes:
8.) Contrary to what antis say, Sasuke actually loves Sakura very much and it was and has been written by the authors hand and no one else:
9. So in summary: See the light anon see the light because prt 1 consists of mutual romantic hints and chemistry between SasuSaku and a dense Naruto that cares about his teammates; but can’t tell what’s going on most of the time until Sakura explains the situations to him. Naruto is willing to sacrifice himself for those he loves, yes; just like Sakura and Sasuke would do for him and eachother; but he couldn’t see through Sakura’s depression nor could he feel when Sasuke was leaving the village. The one to see through Sakura’s depression was Sasuke. The one to feel when, where, and if Sasuke was leaving the village was Sakura. They were able to feel and read eachothers feelings much better than ns ever did during this prt of the story.
And prt 2 consists of Naruto and Sakura determined to bring their lost teammate that aspired for a future with them. Nothing of what he felt for them ever changed. It was only his curse of hatred and the goals that constantly blinded it him and drove him to do things that he regretted/regrets terribly. Prt 2 was about losing; but eventually keeping hope. And although the slips for the red herring of ns did show, Sakura’s feelings for the broken boy never wavered, and Sasuke being saved and returning to his usual different bonds with them was/were already confirmed/foreshadowed. So his happiness with team 7 was to be expected.
10. This must seem irrelevant; but our fanbase is the most passionate and spirited ever. We went through so many hardships and we still manged to be number 1 out of all the relevant/possible romances of Naruto:
We were basically among the characters that were born first:
[Notice how it says “created” and not “presented”]
So i guess that its only normal that we remain the most popular since we’ve been at it since 1999 maybe even before that in Kishi’s head ;) [hehe thanks for that reveal Sugiyama~]
I don’t deny bad apples. I know every fandom has them; But out of all the fandoms we are the ones less time visiting videos that aren’t about our ship just to bash. You go to google plus and the ss fandom get attack from every single fandom including nh. Same thing in Narutoforums. Same thing with youtube. Same thing in twitter. Same thing in pinterest. Same thing in facebook. And then theres tumblr here people who claim to ship sasusaku equally to another certain ship passive aggressively bash our ship for some weird, odd reason. But regardless, were always shining bright and our fanbase still remains big no matter what. We have so many amazing artist that cheer us up when the studio screws up,funny and meaningful memes when an anti crosstags, and we remain as lively and as strong as the spring that awaits for the end of winter. :)
