thought i should share this with you guys

anonymous asked:

Did you ever used to steal underwear from guys you liked or thought were cute? If you did, do you have any fun stories?

On my old blog we had a discussion about that. Do you guys think we should discuss that on here again? I have to admit I did do that before. If we start the discussion I’ll share a story or two.

cute animal facts to cheer you up:
  • cats “headbutt” people because they make them feel safe, or they trust them.
  • when puppies play fight, boy puppies will often let girl puppies win.
  • the grizzly bear’s name comes from the word “grizzled” which means ‘streaked with gray hair’.
  • wombat poo is cube-shaped to stop it from rolling away…
  • dogs will sneeze to tell other dogs that they’re playing, so when they’re playing rough it doesn’t turn into a fight.
  • gray squirrels bury nuts all over the place, and often forget them, growing new trees. this makes them more ecologically friendly than red squirrels, who store nuts in piles on the ground which don’t take root.
  • infant pygmy marmosets babble to develop their language skills, similarly to the way human babies babble.
  • two-toed sloths cannot shiver to stay warm like other mammals due to their low metabolic rates and little muscle tissue.
  • yawning is infectious because it supplies a method for the most sleepy to forcefully communicate their need for rest and thus ensures that the group rests/sleeps together.
  • baby dolphins have spines on the sides of their tongue. the spines zip up to make a straw so that they can drink the mother’s milk without getting salt water in it.
  • when a rabbit is happy it will sometimes jump in the air twist it’s body. this is called a binky.
  • the red panda uses its long bushy tail not only for balance, but also as a blanket during chilly winter nights.
  • baby japanese macaques make snowballs. they do not use them for any survival purposes, they just like to have fun.
  • manatee calves nurse underwater from teats under their mothers flippers.
  • baby elephants will suck their own trunks for comfort.

Keith, at the store because Lance is having his monthly: :<

Clerk: How can I help you?

Keith: Oh I’m just picking up some pads for my boyfriend.

Clerk: That’s so sweet. :3

My little sister was in tears today because she was wearing her hair naturally to school. She told me that she didn’t want to because people at her school always made fun of her or laughed at her when she did (including her friends and teacher). She said that she hates her hair and that she wishes it wasnt like how it is. I tried telling her that people would kill to have hair like hers. She didn’t believe me and said that no one wants hair like hers and that she hates it. We live in a predominately white neighborhood, so shes used to seeing white girls with flowing hair. She feels as thought their hair is prettier than hers. I know this is a bit stupid and all but, could you guys reblog this and share some positivity so that I can show her that she is loved and that her hair is beautiful and she should never be ashamed?

hi guys!! i just wrapped up my first semester in college (thank the Lord), so i thought i should share some of the things i’ve learned with you.

  • make friends during the first few weeks!!
    • participate in all the “welcome week” activities. step outside of your comfort zone and be willing to talk to anyone and everyone—everyone else is in the same position as you. find friends who have similar values as you. do not become too close with anyone who will influence you to do things that you do not want to do. befriend the people you sit next to in class—maybe they can become a study buddy. establish your friendships early on. from personal experience, it is harder to befriend people who have already formed their own friend groups.
  • join clubs!!
    • join them early on in the semester.
    • join clubs that are specific to your major! not only will you meet people with similar interests and career goals, but you will also receive important information (opportunities, research programs, etc.) and get more hands-on experience.
    • if you are on a pre-professional track, join a club based on your program. i’m currently in the pre-dental health society club at my school!
    • join any club that interests you, but try not to join clubs that frequently overlap—it is better to attend clubs faithfully than sporadically.
    • if you’re a person of faith, join a (or several) campus ministry/group to get connected with people who share your same faith. a majority of my friendships have come from doing this and it’s like having a second family. if you’re a christian, join cru!! cru is awesome!!!!
  • scheduling
    • only take 8 am’s if you are disciplined enough to go to sleep at a reasonable time and to wake up at or before 7 am.
    • try to end your school day relatively early so that you have the rest of the day to do any studying that you have to do, while you’re still awake and alert.
    • try to avoid night classes as they are very long and will probably interfere with a billion other things you want to do.
    • if you are scheduling back-to-back classes, make sure you have enough time to get from one class to the other.
  • coursework
    • exams are so important in college. there is homework, though, but it usually only accounts for a small percentage of your grade. you should still complete it. all of it. try to accumulate as many points as you can from homework and other assignments in case you don’t perform as well as you wish on the exams.
  • time-management is SOOO important!!
    • learn when to say no to social events. you can still do fun things, but know when you should refrain from it.
    • managing time wisely significantly lowers academic-related stress.
    • create a skeletal schedule for your week–add your classes, when you want to wake up/go to sleep, any club meetings that you have, what time’s a good time for lunch, etc.
    • determine what times work best in your schedule to dedicate to studying.
    • schedule your free time so that 1. you have something to look forward to and are less likely to get distracted, and, 2. you can take a break from everything and feel refreshed.
  • dealing with professors
    • respect them (obviously).
    • form good relationships with your professors, but, for the love of God, do not be a kiss up. they can tell when you are or aren’t being genuine.
    • visit them during office hours for any questions you may have. make it known to them that you do care about what you’re learning and that you’re not only trying to get an A.
  • reminders!!
    • sometimes you will try so hard and your grade will still not reflect the effort you put in.
    • learning > grades
    • grades do not always reflect intelligence. sometimes, a lower grade could be a result of something else, such as poor time-management.
    • your GPA does not define you.
    • you are here to learn.
    • rest!!
    • you can do this!!
    • i love you!!

disclaimer: this post is based on my experiences and things i have heard from people who i have interacted with. this advice might not apply to everyone who reads it. artwork by: paul antonson

i will be adding to this! just wanted to get some of it posted! feel free to message me with specific college-related questions and feel free to message/reply/reblog with any advice you think i should add. :)

The Road To Good Grades

[Warning - A Very Lengthy Post]

A fellow student of mine wrote this when for my batch when we entered high school, and I thought I should share it with you ❤️ it’s been edited to make it more universal to you guys :D

Intro: Having the Courage to Study.
When we fail academically, we tend to point to two causes: stupidity and laziness. It’s so easy to say that we’re not smart enough, or that we just don’t want to try because it doesn’t really matter. But there’s another factor involved: fear. So many students have the strategy of not studying or not studying properly for an exam. Why? Because if you put low effort into something, then you should expect a low result. So many of us are afraid of trying and failing that we don’t even try. “What if my best isn’t good enough?” We’re afraid of giving our best because once we know our limits, we feel that much weaker. But life in school isn’t about not trying, it’s about accepting those limits and breaking them.To survive and ultimately thrive, you must have the courage to reach your full potential. That courage, that vigor, that strive to be better is what will keep you alive, not just in school but in the real world.

Guide:
- Sleep and Eat well.
We often lose sleep or skip meals in order to survive the rigors of life. But keep in mind, those choices in the rest and nourishment you receive have consequences. Having the energy to focus throughout the day is vital. Nobody wants to be tired, nobody can afford to be sick.

- Pay Attention in Class.
There’s a difference between passive hearing and active listening. Letting the teacher’s words wash over you like a warm shower is NOT the same as paying attention. Teachers are human beings, capable of expressing emotion and emphasis in their words and actions. There’s a reason why you learn from them rather than from a book or the internet. Catching what they’re trying to say is a skill that takes effort to learn.

**The skill of listening is one of the most important ones to develop because a teacher’s words are your last resort in an examination. If a quiz catches you by surprise, your memory of the class is the difference between A+ and an F.

- Take USABLE Notes.
Normally, humans are not capable of memorizing lessons entirely in their head. That’s what notes are for. Keep in mind that notes should be USABLE, they are not things that you make for the sake of looking or feeling productive. Each person has a specific style of learning and their notes should reflect that. Notes that are too long/elaborate, too short/simple, unreadable, or illogical are detrimental. Good notes should be aids in studying, not justification for carrying notebooks.

**Tips:
- Save time by using abbreviations or acronyms.
- Rearrange/reconstruct words or phrases for convenience.
ex. Famous Authors of America –> Impt. American Authors.
- Avoid copying verbatim unless necessary (quotes).
- Write down examples, esp. in science/math related subjects.
- If notes are incomplete, supplement them via reliable sources or your teacher.

- Practice.
There is more to studying than reading/note-taking. Practice is essential. This is especially true for Math-related subjects. Reading your notes before a Math exam is not really going to help you understand the problem or protect you from careless mistakes. The only way to improve in the subject is by doing the exercises and learning from both your success and failure. Memorizing definitions isn’t as important as using them. Being able to analyze, compare, and contrast is vital to survival.

- Review a Little Bit, Regularly.
Slow and steady wins the race. Students tend to read a ton of material before an exam. However, the human mind requires time in order to fully grasp ideas and concepts. Taking 10-20 minutes to read your notes after school daily can help in memorizing lessons, understanding themes, and recalling important points. Taking every subject’s lessons day by day will prevent you from being overwhelmed.

**Tip:
- When reading through your notes, picture yourself in the classroom with your classmates and teacher. The human mind is like a web, connected by images and sounds. Doing so can help you recall things written on the board or things mentioned by the teacher.

- Learn to Plan and Cram.
Working for the long-term and rushing for the short-term are two opposing ends of the spectrum. But if you don’t master both, you will suffocate in requirements.Time and energy are limited resources and the best scholars know how to get the most out of them. You can’t expect to be able to plan assignments weeks or days in advance the same way you can’t expect to make “academic excellence” in 30 minutes or less like a pizza delivery service.

**Tips:
- Periodic Exams, Long Tests, and Projects REQUIRE planning and coordination.
- Teachers can take up to 5 minutes setting up. Exploit the time.
- Lunchbreak, and the 20 minute breaks are the normal “"cram periods”“.

- Don’t Think of Difficulty.
“Easy” and “Hard” are relative terms. They mean different things to different people and ultimately, they should mean nothing to you. Feeling scared of a “tough” exam is harmful, as is feeling smug about an “easy” one. Study well so you can approach every test with confidence. Remember: it’s just as possible to perfect a difficult test as it is to fail an easy one.

- Don’t Compare Yourself to Others.
The world has approx. 7 billion people. There are always going to be people who are better than you at a given skill, the same way that there will always be people who are worse. Don’t consider them. Your life is your battle, and you’re going to have to fight it for yourself. Being discouraged by your friends’ high scores is as illogical as being encouraged by their low scores. There’s no reason to be proud of 1/10, even if it’s the highest score in the whole class.

- Don’t Blame Teachers.
Not all of your teachers are going to be fair or good at their jobs, whether you like it or not. Regardless, you can’t control your teacher’s incompetence or harshness but you can control the effort you put into their class. Read in advance, find other of info sources, and predict their requirements. The odds may be against you, but as a student you’re expected to beat them.

- Consult.
There’s no shame in asking for help. If you have difficulty in a subject, it always helps to consult with a teacher. Not only does it help in resolving any misconceptions/mistakes, it shows that you’re willing to take the time and effort to do well. To most teachers, that spirit is just as important as the final grade. Note: if a teacher knows that you have difficulty in their subject, they’ll probably take note of it in class which may be to your benefit.

- Find Your Own Strategy/Work Smart.
No single study strategy works universally. Everyone has their own specific style of learning and it’s up to you to find yours. If skimming through readings works for you then go ahead. If you’re the kind that needs to take notes, fine. It’s all about working both hard and smart, giving the most energy but finding the most effective way of using it. Humans are creative creatures. You might find that the best solution is one that no one has thought of before.

- Be Liable.
You need to be proactive in academics. Many students have the tendency to be caught off guard by a surprise quiz. They’ll often argue with the teacher, using the retort “Ma'am, you didn’t announce it!” as an excuse. Shaking off responsibility through ignorance is suicidal in this school. If you’re willing to take the risk of coming to class unprepared for the sake of being lazy, go ahead. Just be prepared for the consequences of your actions.

- Keep Moving Forward.
You’re human. Humans make mistakes. Learn from your errors but leave them where they belong; in the past. Everyone wants to get an A+ but you’ll never go that far with the weight of your failure hanging over your shoulder.

Conclusion: Don’t Take Academics too Seriously.
It seems counter-intuitive to end this guide with a statement like “Don’t Take Academics Too Seriously” but it’s something that everyone should remember. No matter no hard you try, you will fail at something. You’ll reach an obstacle that will knock you down to the ground and it will hurt like hell. You need to have something to fall back; friends, family, a hobby, an interest, etc. You don’t want to graduate and realize that you’re only good at earning numbers in a system. You could graduate this high school with the highest average in history but it won’t matter to anyone if you don’t know how you got it. Life is just like math, it’s not all
about the final answer. Your solution is just as important.

**Ultimately, your success as a scholar isn’t measured by a number on a piece of paper but in the difference you make in people’s lives. We’re not going to carry facts and theorems with us, but an attitude of trying to give our best no matter what the cost. That’s the most important lesson you can ever learn in school, but you’re not going to learn it from one subject or teacher. You’re going to live it everyday through every requirement and every grade receive.

THE PROTOTYPES OF ISAK & EVEN

                                                                PLEASE READ THIS

Okay, are you ready to scream? ‘Cause I’m literally in shock with this information. It killed me AND NOW I SHOULD SHARE THIS WITH YOU.

This guy posted photo with Tarjei and I was like ugh okay simple photo of friends. BUT AFTER THIS THOUGHT I SAW HIS LOGIN … EVEN 100 PROSENT, REALLY? I decided to look at his photo. AND OH MY GOD HE LOOKS LIKE HENRIK. WHAT THE FUCK?  INTERESTING THAT ISAK’S ACCOUNT FOLLOW HIM IN INSTAGRAM. HOW?

After all the facts that we found  WE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS GUY IS THE PROTOTYPE OF EVEN. Why?

- It’s known information that screenwriters of Skam talked with the Norwegian teenagers. And based on their words create stories of Skam’s characters.

- This guy is 19 years old. If you don’t remember Even is 19 :’)

- He posted this selfie in March 2015. THE SAME STYLE AND CLOTHES.

AND WHAT ABOUT THIS POST OF SANDWICH WITH CHEESE AND CARDAMOM.

- He sings and plays in a band. And we can see some guitars in Evan’s room in episode 2.

- Oh, also we have some musical clips!  I’M NOT OKAY BUT THEY REMINDS ME THE FIRST AND THE THIRD EPISODES OF SKAM. AND WE CAN SEE THESE STRIPES ON THE FACES!

-  Let’s talk about his flat. He has yellow curtains.

AND THE FUCKING DRAWINGS ON THE CABINET DOORS!

- And we have a curious fact. NRK in one of the interviews wrote: We don’t want to give information about why Henrik was chosen for the role of Even.

FUCK ‘CAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE THIS EVEN 100 PROCENT! AND MAYBE ISAK & EVEN ARE REAL. MAYBE IT’S TRUE STORY BASED ON REAL FACTS. HOLY GUACAMOLE!

I decided to find out the prototype of Isak. I’M NOT REALLY SURE BUT LOOK AT HIM!

And finally THEIR JOINT PHOTOS!

oh, sorry for my terrible english AND FOR THIS SHIT! i’m done.

Hey guys! So I’m currently in the writing phase of my EPQ and I thought I’d share with you guys some tips on how to reference source materials in your reports.

You have to clearly indicate when you have used someone else’s work. For each type of source there are certain things you should note:

  • Books: Author’s name, title, year of puplication, place of publication, the page numbers of any quotes you use
  • Journal/Article: (As above, plus) title of the article, author of the article
  • Website: Author’s name (if stated), title (if stated), full website address, date the website was accessed

There are different ways that you can reference sources in your writing. I’m going to talk about the Harvard System of Referencing and Footnotes (because it would take me forever to go into them all and these two are perfectly fine)

Harvard System of Referencing

This type of referencing contains 2 elements; in-text citations and detailed references.

  • In-text citations: Each time you discuss someone else’s work you should include the author’s name and the date their work was published within the text.
  • Detailed references: The full details of the source should then be referenced in a bibliography at the end of your writing. This list of sources should be arranged alphabetically by the name of the author.

For this form of referencing you can create citations within Microsoft Word:

From there you can select the type of source and fill in the full details, for example:

(Obviously you probably won’t be referencing Harry Potter but you get the idea)

Once you’ve finished all your writing, go back to the references tab, click bibliography, then inset bibliography and it does it automatically creates one from the sources you’ve entered… easy

Footnotes

Alternatively, you can include footnotes at the end of each page. A bibliography still needs to be included at the end of your work to list all your resources.

To add footnotes in Microsoft Word click where you want to add the reference, then go to the references tab and click (you guessed it) Insert Footnote (or Alt+Ctrl+F):

You then have a number inserted in the text and at the bottom of the page. Next to the number at the bottom type in your reference.

And there you go, your guide to referencing in your essays! Hope this helped someone  💕

CASTIEL’S BUCKET LIST

“Hey Sammy, did you see this?” Dean shoves the crumpled piece of paper in Sam’s face.

“Is this…”

“Cas wrote a bucket list. Ain’t that cute?”

“Are you sure we should be reading this?” Sam makes a face. Party-killer. Dean just happened to find the damn thing on the floor. It’s not like he could leave it there.

“Yeah, I mean… The guy’s got tons of wishes,” he says then. “And he’s a frickin’ angel, why is he wasting time when he could be doing all of this in a week? We should take some time off and help him.”

“Right, and that Wendigo in South Dakota is just going to hunt itself…” Sam mutters under his breath, but then as he reads his tone changes and he smiles. “You know what? I can take care of that myself. I’ll ring Jody, maybe Claire will come along too. You go play genie.”

It beats Dean why Sam would give up all the fun but he just shrugs and thanks him.

Then again, he and Cas don’t spend as much time together as they used to, so this could be good for them.

 1. Learn how to bake pie

“Hey Cas, you got a minute?” Dean’s prayer is short of details, but he doesn’t want to risk giving anything away. Cas appears in the bunker’s kitchen after seconds. He tilts his head, probably confused as to why is he seeing Dean wearing an apron and facing piles of flour and sets of eggs.

“Dean, what are you…” Dean promptly shows him the piece of paper. Cas’s eyes grow wide in surprise and Dean could swear he even blushes a little.

“Did you read it?”

“Just skimmed the first points. But I took the week off, and God help me, I’ll help your lazy angelic ass to go through all of this bucket list.”

“Bucket list?”

“That’s what this is, right?”

“I guess,” Cas shrugs. “So I assume this is…”

“Baking pie, hell yeah. I got you an apron.”

As Cas glances at the green apron and smiles, Dean lets out a breath of relief. He’s happy Cas didn’t get mad at him for poking around his things. He had wanted to do something nice for Cas in a long time.

“In my defense,” Cas jokes. “I always thought they’d taste better without the effort of making them.”

“Well, you’re wrong. Some baking is good for the soul. Now break this egg.” Cas follows through, with slightly more strength than Dean imagined. Enough strength to make the egg explode all over them.

“I said break it, not smite it,” Dean laughs.

“I’m sorry,” Cas says, his face even cuter with that ridiculous orange bits in his hair. Weirder, Dean meant. Not cuter.

“Do you have other ones?” He asks, hopeful, and Dean nods.

“Sure Cas, we got plenty.”

 2. Go to a Led Zeppelin concert.

“If you had time-travelled to a Led Zeppelin concert without me I’d have kicked your ass,” Dean warns him. Since when did Cas even like Led Zeppelin?

“Glad that’s not the case,” Cas says. He puts his hand on Dean’s shoulder and suddenly, Dean reckons at a first glance, they’re in Oakland, California, on 24th July 1977. The crowd is insane, wearing some of the weirdest outfit Dean has ever seen. Although he and Cas must probably look like the most out-of-place types in there.

“Is it like you pictured?” Cas screams in his ear.

“Yeah, it fucking rocks!”

They’re playing Thank You and Dean just closes his eyes, letting the melody sink in. When he opens them again, he can’t help but look at Cas, and for a moment he doesn’t care about the stage at all.

3. Try Peter Luger’s Bacon Burger.

Dean is sitting on a bench in Central Park, eating America’s best bacon burger and thanking God for ever letting him get rescued by Cas.

“I can’t believe I’m trying a burger worth a 100$ dollars.”

“I doubt it costed that much, but it is indeed very tasty,” Cas ponders.

“Man, did you see how fancy that place was?” Dean’s mouth is stuffed with delicious bread. “You’re wasting your invisibility gift. We should sneak into Hollywood, not just steal burgers, I’m telling you.”

“We can add that to the list, if you’d like,” Cas offers, looking at his feet.

“Maybe later,” Dean answers, playfully bumping Cas’s shoulder. “I like it here.”

It’s late at night when Cas finally suggests they zap themselves back at the bunker.

4. Watch a “chick-flick”.

Dean can’t help but laugh whole-heartedly at this one.

“You and Sam use that term all the time…” Cas protests, putting on a grumpy face.

“Guilty, it’s just funnier if it comes from you,” Dean turns on the laptop. “So, what do you wanna watch tonight, babe?” The term leaves Dean’s lips as a joke though he can’t help but feeling a little heat rush to his cheeks.

“I’d suggest something with Swayze.”

“Something Swayze is alright,” Cas shrugs, unbothered. Dean snorts: the guy’s got a lot to learn. He looks up “Dirty Dancing” and figures he should start from the top.

***

One hour, twenty-five minutes and many questions later, the big scene comes on and Cas is adorably smashed against the screen in trepidation. Dean has seen it so many times - not that anyone knows - that he automatically hums along to it.

You’re the one thing, I can’t get enough of… ‘Could be love ‘cause I had the time of my life…” Cas’s eyes suddenly leave the screen and dart towards him. He doesn’t say anything. He just stares. It’s something Cas does rather
often, so why does this time feel so… Urgent? Dean gives him a little smile and keeps humming, for some unknown embarrassing reason.

So we’ll just let it go, don’t be afraid to lose control…”
Cas’s eyes aim lower now; Dean can feel them all over his moving lips.

I know what’s on your mind when you say stay with me tonight…” Their foreheads are touching now. Dean doesn’t know if it’s Cas’s skin tingling or just his own. Then the crowd in the movie erupts into an applause and Cas jumps a little, surprised, thus breaking the magic.

Dean clears his throat.

“Maybe we should just move to the next point, what do you say?”

The previous tension is now so awkward that he can’t even glance at Cas. He grabs the bucket list and reads.

5. Just kiss him.

Ouch. That cuts deep.

“Maybe I should explain…” Cas starts, but Dean cuts him short.

“It’s fine, Cas, really. Clearly you’re into someone. A guy. That’s… That’s great, really. I’m - I’m sure he’ll appreciate your baking skills.” The smile he pulls on is probably the fakest he ever pulled, but he can’t help it. He had read too much into those past days. After all the time they had spent apart some old feelings had risen and he had been an idiot for listening to them. They never got him anywhere.

“Dean, listen. I have to be honest with you. That “bucket list”, as you called it… They weren’t things I wanted to do for myself. They were, uhm, possible ideas… For dates. With this guy.”

Dean definitely needs to get away from the room before he bursts into tears. Not only his pride is hurt, but he feels like a giant idiot for making himself the third wheel.

“You see, this guy…” Cas continues, without mercy. “He loves pies. He listens to Led Zeppelin all day long, it’s pretty annoying to tell you the truth. And don’t get me started on bacon burgers, his liver will collapse one day. Did I mention he’s a sucker for chick flicks? He even knows the soundtracks by heart.”

Oh. Oh. Dean really is a giant idiot.

“So, would you like to help me with that final point?” Cas’s tone is more insecure this time and Dean doesn’t have the heart to leave him in agony for too long. He looks at Cas until their lips are millimeters apart.

“Consider it done,” he whispers before Cas kisses him.

#LoveLetterstoLiteraryCharacters

So I wrote this for @_fullybooked ‘s Valentine’s contest where we have to write a love letter to a fictional character. (They’re giving away a book set and steak. Yup you heard me. Steak. And dinner for two whoop! hahaha)

I wasn’t able to post the whole version since Instagram has a word limit so I thought I’d share it here. lol don’t laugh, okay? I’m in love with this guy. <3 This is my letter to Will Herondale from @cassandraclare‘s Infernal Devices series. The photo edit was taken from @the-manila-institute

Dearest William,

It is a bit odd writing this letter to you. I’ve been wanting to for a long time but people would think me insane to be addressing someone who, quite frankly does not really exist in the real world. A fictional character—a mere creation of the human mind. But seeing that there is an opportunity where I will not be judged if I do, I have gladly taken it; overjoyed to finally be able to say to you what I’ve wanted to say the very moment I turned to the very last page.

William. Did you know you wore the name so well? In French it means: “determined protector”; the epitome of who you are as I’ve read from the Infernal Devices series. I was in high school when I met you, and had the honor of being by your side as I read through your adventures with Tessa, Jem, and the other Shadowhunters. Every fight, every war left me in awe as you fought them with such skill. (And you knew that very well too.)

My first impression of you: you’re going to be someone I won’t like but would end up liking in the end anyway. You were rude, arrogant, reckless, excessively cocky, and did I mention rude? Yes, I believe so. In retrospect, you were everything I didn’t like—except maybe the fact that you were an incredibly gorgeous human being with deep blue eyes, that even you yourself are in love with. I liked Jem more in all honesty and would probably get along with him better than I would with you.

But as I got deeper into the story, I learned there’s more to you, Will. Behind the sarcasm and rude disposition was a caring young man who would risk everything for the people he loves. I discovered your past and suddenly…everything changed. Or maybe I’ve known it all along but didn’t let myself see it.

I couldn’t pinpoint the exact time—or page—I fell in love with you. But know that I did. I really did and it was like a lullaby; a slow journey. I guess it started when you expressed your devotion for the written text. Your love for books was wonderful and I guess I saw myself in you and related a lot to your thoughts.

Your words spoke to me, touched my heart. And for the first time, I saw someone as my other half. Perhaps we were twins in another life for we think very much alike.

“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.” - Will

Your words continue to haunt me to this day—your words of love, your witty remarks, and even the snarky and sarcastic ones that make me want to hurl a chair at you. Being a writer, I breathe and live words and you are the first person (I don’t care if you’re not real) who understood what it’s like to be that way. Maybe you are just a fictional character, but I believe Cassandra Clare has shaped you in the image of real people, so you must exist somewhere. I hope I find someone who would want to listen to me talk about books and my stories “until their ears fell off”. I hope I find someone half as passionate as you are; who is incredibly strong but felt too deeply it leaves me breathless…

Someone who can easily express himself in words so beautifully; and would say these words to me the way you did to Tessa:

“Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not yet read. I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die—“

You’re simply wonderful Will, and it breaks my heart a little knowing I can only be with you through the pages of a book. But just so you know, I would gladly read it over and over again just to have the privilege of being able to witness the beauty of your mind and heart—your very soul.

I love you, most ardently. And dare I say if I were a book, you’d be the words; every page strewn with thoughts of you.

Loving you always (from outside the pages),

Kaye Allen

how to balance your hobbies and studying

so ya’ll probably know that i’m a bookaholic and fangirl. So dedicating my time to things I love doing and studying has been quite a challenge for me. But for this past year i’ve managed to develop a few ways for me to balance my time and thought it’d be nice to share them with you guys! (even though I still procrastinate let’s be real).

1. Pomodoro technique

I’m sure most of you have heard about this. But basically, all you need to do is set a timer for 25-30 minutes and completely focus on a task during that time. Try avoiding distractions such as checking your notifications and such. Once the timer sets off take a 5-10 minute break and continue again. Usually, I'll do this continuously for at least two times. After that, I just spend my time doing the things I love for maybe half an hour or so then get back to work if I have an important quiz or assignment.

2. If you don’t feel like doing it,don’t do it

We all know school can be tough and exhausting sometimes. And there will always be days when you just want to go home and relax. Most of the time, you feel so exhausted that you don’t have the heart to do anything. At all. So if you don’t feel like reading the book you’re currently reading or playing undertale don’t do it. There is no need to force yourself and i’m saying this because I have done this a lot before and I just found myself getting frustrated easily for some reason. As for studying try to cool down a bit and slightly putt off your schedule. Or if you’re not feeling it get lots of rest and wake up early the next day to start working (especially if you have a test the next day)

3.Use a planner or a bullet journal

Many people consider this as the ultimate time management tool ever. It’s just something to manage your time easier with. But if you decide to use a bullet journal it may take a lot of time compared to a planner but hey, your choice.

soo yeah that’s all I could give you. Sorry if it was too short I just thought that if it was super long you guys would get bored easily. Hope this was helpful!

cause people ask me how I stay motivated, and coming from someone who struggles in trying to stay motivated, I thought I should share this with you guys as well.
