assumptions of perfectly competitive models – One. Economies of scale are…
small relative… to the size of the… market. Two. Output… is homogenous. Three.
Information… is… soft- and… fluffy. Four. I want to marry you… sweet, cuddly
turtle-bunny-cushion. Something hits the elbow you’re leaning your head upon
and you shoot up, slightly panicking. Shit.
You had fallen asleep. It was only for a minute; you defend yourself in your
mind. Nobody saw you, right?
You lift your hands to rub your eyes but stop yourself in
the nick of time. You have almost forgotten that you are wearing black eyeliner
and mascara. Thank God you remembered
just in time – It would have been a catastrophe if you didn’t.
You look around, pinching your eyes a few times instead and examining
the endless array of tables that is populated with college students and their college
books, notebooks, markers and pencils. During the exam periods, it’s difficult
to find a spot left empty. Outside the College library, there’s typically a
line of students waiting to claim a seat, even at this unholy hour of nine pm.
Why do you think Pete Dunne would be like if his girlfriend took him to Disney World?
- Pete would never admit it, but he loves to be the reason you’re happy.
- so if it means surprising you by taking you to Disney World, so be it.
- even if he hates the little snot nosed brats and the over indulgent parents that were there
- plus he’d make a concerted effort to get you to drink with him around Epcot
- he’d coerce you to get onto the various roller coasters with him
- his favorite was the tower of terror because of the way you’d cling to him as the ride dropped you both down
- a minor perk was the way that kids would cower away from him whenever he snarled in their direction, which proved useful when in lines for rides
- when you complain of your feet hurting, he’d feign reluctance before offering you a piggy back ride
- whenever you’re not looking, he stares at you with a small, warm smile on his face
- all of the selfies
- his favorites are when you’re kissing him and taking a picture
- Pete draws the line at wearing those stupid ears though
Do you believe that Ymir got her powers from the devil? In the book that Freida held there's a figure that looks like a titan unlike what the Marleyans and season 2 ending showed. And could the Eldians really just migrate in such big amounts across the see to an island? I think they where turned into titans first or maybe they didn't leave at all because on that island are things that belong to the the other side (unless they took it with them)
I wrote up a theory a little while back about Ymir possibly being descended from the devil, but how that devil figure is depicted in the anime ED kinda complicates things, yeah. That just makes you think maybe it’s one of those ideas Isayama wanted to change up, or didn’t seen an issue with changing.
The devil in the ED still has those pointed ears though, so hooray for some consistency. The manga panel here isn’t the exact same one Frieda showed Historia – that one featured the devil figure with a hood over its head, but otherwise it’s the same.
I’ll still hold on to my theory for now.
As for how the Eldians and co. migrated to Paradis Island, it doesn’t sound like the island was already inhabited. Between the Marleyan history books and what Dina Fritz says, the island was never described as being populated to begin with. It was more of a remote area that was just kind of…there.
So everyone just boarded ships at some point and arrived at the island, but only after the king had already created the walls. It’s not even clear who exactly these people were. Some time ago, a fan translated the text found on the inner covers of the volume, which included this statement:
“Those who gained passage aboard the ships were only a small fraction composed of the rich and powerful.”
This is outdated info, since the text also states things like “most of humanity had been eliminated already.” Still, that part about only the wealthiest migrating to Paradis is interesting. I’m more curious about the people who became the wall titans. Can you imagine agreeing to a fate like that? Or did these people even have a choice?
I’m still at a loss as to how the royal family had a such a variety of titan serums, like colossal and armored. I can’t tell if the serums needed to titanize people have to come from mindless titans only, or if that from a shifter would work as well. Maybe the king did take a set supply of serums with him before heading out to setup the walled society.
There’s still so many unanswered questions about the 145th Fritz king and the formation of the walls.
“I don’t know. I don’t want any presents. I just… to have a couple of weeks off with my family and my friends, that’s the best present I could ask for.” - Cory when asked what he wants most for Christmas
