Downton Abbey alumna Michelle Dockery will star in Netflix’s limited Western drama series Godless, written, directed and executive produced by Scott Frank alongside Steven Soderbergh.

Set in a 1800s New Mexico mining town, the story follows Frank Griffin (played by Jeff Daniels), a menacing outlaw and leader of a notorious gang who is terrorizing the West as he hunts down Roy Goode (Jack O'Connell), his son-like partner-turned-mortal enemy. While Roy hides at Alice Fletcher’s (Dockery) ranch, Frank’s chase leads him to the quiet town of La Belle — which is made up of entirely women after all of the men have died in a mining accident. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Merritt Wever and Jeremy Bobb co-star.

Dockery will be seen next in TNT’s thriller Good Behavior, set to premiere later this fall, in which she will play a thief and con artist who, fresh out of jail, learns of and sets out to derail a hitman’s assignment to kill a man’s wife. Find here the trailer.

I didn’t go in trying to be an actor. I just went in as a kid trying to have fun and be a different character and that was slowly something that I fell in love with. I then fell in love with cameras and equipment. Back then it was shot on regular film. I remember they would give me a B-camera to play with and I would get to load the film and check the gate. I loved all of that. I was lucky enough that it grew from there.
