this would have been better imo

hey, remember when lars:
  • obviously had social anxiety issues and desperately wanted the cool kids to accept him and to fit in
  • didn’t exactly get along on the best of terms with steven, but still wasn’t a complete asshole to him (was visibly apologetic when he made steven angry for insulting his mom, smiled and returned the chest high-five steven gave him)
  • was, as a kid in the flashback in horror club, shown as kind towards ronaldo and accidentally, not on purpose, tore his picture apart due to his major self-esteem issues
  • actually attempted to credit steven for saving the cool kids from rose’s moss despite the fact that he could have taken all the credit due to his desire to be accepted and thought of highly by the cool kids
  • was shown having hidden talents, such as cooking
  • got genuinely concerned over spilling coffee on garnet in the episode future vision and asked if she was okay

had a jerkish, standoffish personality but obviously had many self-esteem related issues underneath it all that could have potentially been fleshed out and allow him to grow to become a wiser, well-rounded character and realize that it’s okay to be yourself? i miss that lars

I am tired of Mary Winchester pulling out the Mom Card™ whenever she feels like it. I. E. “Screens down, eyes up.” or “Don’t give me the face.”

Mary hasn’t invested nearly enough emotionally in Sam and Dean to demand the sort of respect a child gives a parent that loves, cherishes, listens to and respects them. She hasn’t been that parent to Sam and Dean. A child only is willing to be disciplined or scolded or trust in questionable decisions a parent has made if they know that the decision is made out of love, not anger or worry or selfish reasoning. Sam and Dean don’t know that about Mary, and they have no reason to believe that about her either, besides past biases (which are quickly turning out to not be true, i.e. Mary never liked cooking or baking, was still hunting after marriage). Essentially Mary, Sam, and Dean are strangers. They should be getting to know each other but they’re not. Mary doesn’t seem to have a desire to.

Sam and Dean are allowed to be angry and distrusting of Mary and should be imo. She has lied to them and is working with a group of people that tortured them physically and mentally. She’s telling Sam and Dean, without any real knowledge of what they’ve survived and been through, that they are “doing it” wrong. That the BMoL can and are doing it better. Mary has been here for like, what a few months? She’s spent most of that time apart from Sam and Dean, how would she know what they are truly capable of? I think the BMoL are using her and who knows for what. She hasn’t hunted for years, yet is suddenly more capable than Sam or Dean? I don’t trust the flattery they are heaping on Mary. She is naive to trust them or think she’s smart enough to use them by herself because they give her fancy weapons and tell her she’s awesome. These are men and women that murder supernatural beings for loot, torture and kill without discretion. Mary, wyd???

imo the tv version of shadowhunters is so much better than the movie, even though they had such a limited budget so imagine if the money spent on the movie would’ve been spent on the tv series wE wOuLd hAvE hEAveN pEopLE

Hot Isis Screencaps

from the Isis vs Kaiba duel!

Isis ranks really high in for me in YGO characters hotness, she’s the most gorgeous of the women imo. I think it would have been better if they’d given her darker skin (although I know that women from Egypt can have paler skin irl, and possibly living underground for that long would have an impact on her/Ishtars’ skin, but still).

But I mean DAMN

I love her lips and her fucking cool stare is A++

but her EYES are really where it’s at, her eyeliner game is even stronger than Malik’s and her blue eyes are even more gorgeous than Seto’s, like that’s really saying something.

She’s so hot you could say she’s

Idk if you've heard this theory, but I recently stumbled upon it and thought you would find it interesting. Basically it states that Felassan is still alive, but is tranquil because Dreamers killed in the fade become tranquil. (According to Keeper Mathari? Not sure if that is spelled right...) Thoughts?

Oh…. now that is an interesting thought.

You are correct: in the Dragon Age 2 quest Night Terrors, Keeper Marethari explains that if Feynriel (a dreamer) is killed while in the Fade, this will make him Tranquil. And we know this isn’t just flawed information. If Hawke kills him during that quest, he will be rendered Tranquil as a result.

Honestly, the matter of Felassan’s death still bothers me. I feel like there’s some big piece of information that we’re missing. Because while it’s true that Weekes tweeted a denial when asked if Cole’s comment in Trespasser was confirmation that Solas killed him… it could have been tongue-in-cheek. He says no repeatedly, only to then say “maybe”. And I swear I saw a tweet later on from him where someone else was pressing for info about Felassan’s death and he essentially said that it was a spoiler and he would not answer (I tried my best to find this tweet, but google came up with nothing and I really don’t feel like loading up his archive to parse through all the post-Trespasser tweeting he did).

Saying that it’s a spoiler implies to me that confirming it or denying it would spoil something that we haven’t yet seen in the games. Because he was discussing all sorts of DAI and Trespasser spoilers at the time using ROT13. So if it’s not significant for the future of the story, then why not outright confirm it? Cole’s statement sure makes it sound like he’s already confirmed it…

So, understandably… I’m suspicious.

The thought that he’s been made tranquil, however, could explain Weekes’s response. It would mean that Felassan isn’t dead, but he also isn’t really all there anymore. Knowing Solas’s strong disapproval of tranquility and the importance he puts in having a connection to the Fade, it would be no better than murder - worse, probably.

It would also suit his motives a little better, imo. I always felt that Felassan’s death was overkill, for lack of a better term. The crime (sympathizing with the mortals and not handing over the Eluvians to Fen’Harel) didn’t fit the punishment. It’s a waste of resources. Making him tranquil presents a compromise. The process could be reversed later (though Felassan’s mind may not ever be what it once was) but in the meantime the Dread Wolf doesn’t have a rogue agent going against orders and potentially ruining his plans. And though Felassan’s abilities would be limited to non-magical tasks, he could still continue to contribute.

It’s not a merciful or kind act and I believe Solas would deeply regret it. But it sounds like something he would do if he felt it furthered the cause.

So I’d keep that theory tucked away in the “Sounds Plausible” column. It is definitely backed up directly by in-game lore. Felassan was a Dreamer and he was killed in the Fade. Unless that rule somehow doesn’t apply to ancients - then that makes him Tranquil.

(Note: As I’ve said before, I still feel like maybe Weekes wants to give himself a little wiggle room with Felassan. He’s already said in interview that Solas’s character changed the most out of anyone on the DAI team. His concept of who the Dread Wolf was and how the Dread Wolf would act was probably very different when he wrote Masked Empire. It would not surprise me if there’s a subtle bit of retconning in the future or some further explanation given to clarify the circumstances that led to that moment. We will have to wait and see. No matter what I may want or what I may think best suits the characters involved, I’m willing to accept whatever canon gives me.)

Hey! Just saw your DBT spread and I was wandering if you'd have some more and would be willing to show them? I've been thinking about good ways to incorporate DBT in my bullet journal but am not sure how. Yours look lovely! I hope you have a good day!!

(i’m gonna post this if that’s okay???)

hey! thank you so much!!! <33 that was actually the very first DBT spread i’d done, as the ones before were printed sheets that my therapist gave me (which imo were so ugly LOL sorry @ my therapist)

i’ve still been using the same layout for my mood/action entries, just more neat so if u want a better/closer look this is a better pic

(this isn’t even as neat as it should be rip)

those are all just moods/actions that i personally struggle with most. at my clinic, everyone’s DBT entries are customized to keep track of their personal struggles, so if you do plan on making DBT entries (if u don’t have one/made one already) then i highly suggest asking ur therapist to help u customize one or making one for urself even.

this was the original layout for my diary card in case u were wondering what the hell any of that means LOL

in addition to this though i wanted to have some personal things i wanted to keep track of, like sleep, medication, hygiene, and whether i’d actually filled out the diary card LOL so this is the tracker page that i use

believe it or not, i actually used a ruler while drawing those lines smh i have such shaky hands LOL

so yeah, this is kind of basically what i do to make it a little less boring to fill out my dbt entries.

i hope this helped!!!!

Can you do a BatJokes fanfic rec list?

I can only link the one’s I’ve found and liked, since I really don’t know many off the top of my head!! There’s a mix of sfw and nsfw, but all have plots so it’s worth a read I think!!Not many bc im still finding gems but these are the ones that stood out the most to me!!!!

- Bred to Suffer by DesdemonaKaylose (sfw-ish?)
Issue 48 AU where Bruce hasn’t made the decision to become Batman yet, and Amnesia Joker (Jack) get closer (PROB my fav amnesia joker series ever tbh)

- Watch Your Feet, Let Me Pass by DesdemonaKaylose (sfw)
Part 2 of Bred to Suffer that focuses on Amnesia Joker’s karmatic daily life (beautifully angsty)

- We Are Not Ourselves by DesdemonaKaylose (sfw)
Part 3 of Bred to Suffer, focusing on Amnesia Joker questioning his identity, and who he used to be with Bruce (even more angsty and amazing!)

A New Game by melody1987 (sfw for now, nsfw eventually if going by tags!)
Basically Bruce and Joker have to work together to figure out whos tryin 2 kill them, and it gets emotional and saucy and i love it

- Somewhere Between Love and Abuse by Saremina (nsfw)
Joker and Bruce accidently end up dating and Bruce is working rly hard to keep Joker from figuring out he’s also Batman

- Want/Need by ngm (nsfw)
AU where Bruce actually saved Joker’s life at the end of Arkham City

- Half Way Across by DracoMaleficium (nsfw)
Joker takes up Bruce’s offer to rehabilitate him from The Killing Joke. (Naturally have to include this, I’ve seen nothing but positive things and I have nothing but positive things to say)

- London (Letting Go) by irisbleufic (nsfw)
Set after Europa comics, Batman and Joker start to head back to Gotham after getting the sure and take a tiny detour. (personallly i love it bc questionable gender tropes make me weak, but its rly cute and sweet imo)

- His Love is Viral by TimmyJaybird (nsfw)
Basically Joker sends nudes to Batman and Bats isn’t sure how to deal with it. Has plot, and as cliche as it can be, I really enjoyed it n thought it was cute!! Kind of a “This was PWP but ended up having a plot” story

-  Batter, Batter, Swing by ChuckleVoodoos (sfw)
Joker just wants kisses!!! He smooches Batman and also playboy Bruce Wayne and Batman comes to a thrilling conclusion

I’ve only been in the fandom for a few weeks so surely others would have better lists than me, I think!! I’m sure I missed a lot of gems

Dazai Osamu and the Dark Era - Light Novel vs Anime Discrepancies

As enjoyable as the anime adaptation may be, I urge everyone to read the light novel itself!! The anime glossed over many, many important scenes which are plenty enjoyable, but one thing I feel the novel captures a lot better are Oda’s thoughts, which definitely help you understand his (slightly odd) way of thinking. Here’s just a few of the many scenes you’d have missed out on if you only watch the anime:

I always wonder if MRJ ever felt insulted Hook's character was more well received (despite him being extremely polarizing now). Ever since he left he was very quiet about OUAT and his character until he did that con, which I was very surprised he even did. But you know in the long run, keeping Neal would have been better IMO.

I really came to appreciate Neal when I wrote him in fan fic.  He’s a really fascinating character.

i'm really curious if they will actually tell/show us what paradise is supposed to be. Like is it the same for everyone? i'm rewatching 4 and 5 and they mention paradise a bunch and 12 is the first time they mention it since then. what do you think about Cas seeing paradise?

IMO Paradise in the show isn’t like Heaven, it’s not a physical place as such, more of a concept and the concept is always something bad as it’s been shown to be a place either in itself without free will and agency, though that’s debatable, but in order to get there Dean and others would have to give up their free will and agency, that’s the key.

Dean : “You can take your peace… and shove it up your lily-white ass. ‘Cause I’ll take the pain and the guilt. I’ll even take Sam as is. It’s a lot better than being some stepford bitch in paradise. This is simple, Cas! No more crap about being a good soldier. There is a right and there is a wrong here, and you know it.”

The word is slightly interchangeable with Heaven in s4 as Cas tells Dean he can die and have a good Heaven but the idea is that Earth would be Paradise itself I believe too.

So yeah, Paradise in ITSELF I don’t think is NECESSARILY proven to be a place without free will, though really through psychology and real life it insinuates it because human nature is not to be kind all the time and Dean’s words here indicate that the show is trying to portray Paradise as a “stepford bitch” situation where there is no agency, but it isn’t really really clear cut, however the way to obtain it IS clear cut that it removes their agency.

But yeah, a place where no-one does any bad, a world free of hatred and fear kind of has to be without agency because humanity is not capable of creating this on it’s own, there just are people in the world who would choose to do bad things and there’s no way to stop that without taking away their free will.

My thoughts on Cas seeing Paradise are varied, it’s obviously not a good thing, it’s obviously a call back to season 4, it’s just a case of why we feel Jack showed Cas Paradise (because we don’t know if Jack thinks this is a good thing or knows it’s a bad thing, whether he believes in agency or not or just doesn’t understand at all because he is brand new, he is a blank slate, whether he genuinely thinks he is trying to help or if he is acting out of evil intentions, I mean the guys in the first place, the Angels who wanted to create Paradise on Earth didn’t do it because they were evil but because they thought it was God’s will and had good intentions even though the means were bad and of course some rebelled because they realised the means were bad).

So, from Cas’ POV then, was Cas so desperate to have faith in something (and he couldn’t have it in himself, but that’s where he should wind up) that he regressed to season 4 Cas due to his depression and sense of worthlessness and fear and thus his arc is to die and have his rebirth to get past this, just as Sam and Dean have, or did Jack sock puppet him and force him to act the way he did after forcing a false view of Paradise on him and taking control, or anything in between?

I guess we might find out or we might not, I’m not sure we will ever truly know for sure as either way it still ends up at the same point, but I will be interested to see how they play out Cas’ arc coming out of this now.

anonymous asked:

hi! >< i recently got into nuest and i am in love with them, but i saw that they might disband due to their contracts ending on some website. it breaks my heart T__T do you think they will?

I took a while to answer this because at first I just wanted to ramble/cry about my love for them and my fears, but I actually decided to organize my thoughts first.

The way I see it, Jonghyun is definitely going to make the final 11. He’s being called the nation’s leader and I’ve seen very, very few negative comments about him on pann and dc galleries. Minhyun also has a high likelihood of making the final group because he’s really, really popular in Korea. There have been so many pann articles about his visuals and fan accounts say he got the loudest applause during Downpour. Dongho has gained a lot of fans but I’m not sure if they’ll be enough to get him into the final group. I don’t think Minki is going to make it at all, honestly. He hasn’t had the “right” screen time (I think I heard his voice more in the PWF performance than in the entire show) and he doesn’t have the general fans (as in, not just LO/\ES) that Jonghyun, Minhyun and (to extent) Dongho have.

As the current probabilities stand, there’s no way Pledis is going to let them end their contracts with their newfound popularity. And honestly, I don’t think the boys will want to end them either. I would love for the boys to leave Pledis and find a new company or start their own but that’s unrealistic given the fact that they still have trainee debt and some of them, like Jonghyun (IIRC, he was their first male trainee), may feel personally indebted to Pledis.

I also don’t think Nu’est will become OT4 (like some people want). Unless, Aron is the one who decides to leave, the other 4 won’t leave him behind. They’ve just gone through so much and are so close to do that to him. I know some people don’t care for Aron, but Nu’est wouldn’t be Nu’est without him. He’s put his foot in his mouth a few times, but IIRC he’s apologized and (hopefully) matured.

So, to answer your question- no, I don’t think they’ll disband. To Pledis, they have “value” now (AS IF THEY NEVER DID, fuck you pledis), and the boys themselves are very close.

However, whether they’ll be able to sustain their popularity is really going to be up to Pledis and to the new Produce 101 final contract (which I’ve read will be different than last season’s but there hasn’t been many details yet). If the new contract allows groups to promote while a member is in BOI, then Pledis might have Nu’est promote while BOI is promoting. I would, personally, hate that, though. Not only would Jonghyun (and Minhyun) be overworked as hell, but I’m worried they’ll get backlash like Sejeong, Chaeyeon, and Yeonjung did during IOI. It would let them sustain their place in the public’s eye, though, which is going to be really important once there’s no more “Produce 101″ to keep the Nu’est members in the public eye.

Another (and imo, better) possibility would be to form/promote a subunit of the Nu’est members who aren’t in BOI. This way, they can maintain the momentum of the Produce 101 popularity AND the Korean public can have chance to get to know the group (AND ARON!!!) more.

Once BOI is over, hopefully (HOPEFULLY) Pledis keeps up promotions. There’s no way of knowing what they’ll actually do, though. I hope that Pledis has learned from Seventeen and (now) Pristin and won’t mess things up. :/

pls help me i sometimes feel guilty for being totally in love w murdoc even though i don't excuse a single disgusting thing he does? but people who hate murdoc sorta make me feel bad for him being a major source of comfort for me

buddy, pal. I love Murdoc so friggin’ much, it’s insane. However, I don’t know if you follow my blog, but the vast majority of my posts about Murdoc center around criticizing and questioning Murdoc as a person. Why? Because I have the capacity to love the complex characteristics and charming qualities that make him, essentially, the true front man of Gorillaz. If someone asked me what my fav character was, I would no doubt say Murdoc. But even more importantly, if someone asked who my favorite person was in the band, it undoubtably would be Russel. Why? I think this is a conversation the fans have been having for a long time: how can literally the worse person ever be such a bigger favorite over such a nicer, kinder, BETTER person like Russel??

Well, that’s because Murdoc is, imo, a better character than Russel, while Russel is undoubtably a better person. The effectiveness of their fictional personas on audiences greatly differ from their actual value as human beings in the real world. My personal experience with following stories, comics, etc. in general would chalk this conundrum up to simply the writing and handling of both people. It’s no secret that Murdoc (and 2D) almost unfairly get sooo much more depth and attention from Jamie+Writers. While I don’t think any of the other characters are ‘flat’ or ‘boring’ in any sense, the obvious lack of care regarding making them fully, apologetically, and entirely HUMAN (without falling into the space that’s so familiar that they actually become boring) has fallen short compared to uncle Murdy.

While Murdoc is indisputably the anti-villain, or even villain for some, of the Gorillaz franchise, he reads to me to be so much more tangible as a fictional, over-the-top caricature of a mentally-ill, deranged, violent alcoholic than the others (in their own respective ‘stereotype’) by way of his wit, personalization (we hear and see him the most), and general flamboyancy that makes him bother you in a way that probably starts off negative, but eventually turns into an understanding recognition of who he is, what he wants and needs, why he is who he is, and what he needs to be. Maybe that’s just empathy, or maybe we’ve just been taken hostage by Murdoc in between the quick transitions of dangerous to endearing that Murdoc so easily flips in and out of. 'Acute Stockholm Syndrome’ is what 2D’s therapist called it….

but really you don’t need to explain urself at all like what you like man fight the power

ok so my question has always been how does sansa feel about jon? bc from watching s6, i didn't get any romantic vibes from her. none whatsoever. jon was the one who was all heart eyes. is it be possible that their relationship could be one-sided? after everything she's been through, i can't see sansa falling in love so quickly, esp. with someone who she thinks is her brother.

imo there’s a romantic spark on both ends during the forehead kiss scene in 6x10, but sansa is going to be more guarded until jon’s parentage is revealed. that’s going to change everything between them for the better, and–again, imo–it’ll tip their relationship into the romantic

i would disagree that sansa’s past will hinder her future when it comes to love. i mean, for all intents and purposes, sansa’s never been in actual love with anyone before–she’s only dreamed of it, perhaps thought she’d been in it, and while those experiences have disillusioned her, that’s all the more reason for something to blossom between her and jon

because he’s not what she’d expected before, but he’s already begun to prove that he’s the sort of love she SHOULD be looking for, the sort she should have, even if he’s not the storybook golden-haired prince. he’s honest and gentle with her and he makes her feel safe enough that she can shout in his face that he’s an idiot. he’ll protect her and do anything for her, even if it mucks up his plans to fuck off south to chill at the beach forever

her bastard half-brother-but-actually-cousin is the last sort of man sansa would ever have expected to fall for–which is why i think he’s exactly the man who she’ll fall for, finally, for real

Larry and promo season go together like peas and carrots. You're 100% correct, nothing new to see here.

Agreed. I would love for this to have really been Harry and to really be going somewhere. But I think it’s a Larrie-centric publicity stunt.

Anonymous said:

I have a couple questions, I hope that’s okay. First what was the point of the whole Larry picture? I mean why bring that back when they try so hard to cover it up? Will they try something like that with Ziam when Liam drops his single? I mean are they trying to turn this into a my fave is better than yours thing? Idek anymore lol.

1DHQ is Larry-baiting, imo. Having people lurking in the fandom, they have to be aware that some Larries were expressing saltiness recently that Harry’s promo for SOTT is more widespread and focused than Louis’ for JHO. So that could potentially mean lost sales for Harry, depending on how bitter people are. And Louis has a very loyal fanbase and some of them do not wanna see SOTT outsell JHO. It’s something to consider.

Therefore, a plot was hatched to bring the salty Larries back into the fold by giving them a “Larry moment” courtesy of Harry, the man of the moment. The empty link (later replaced by an idiot fan with Larry porn) was meant to invite speculation–choose your own adventure. What did Harry intend with the link? And the pix of Louis were just pure cuteness. Nothing overtly romantic or sexual implied. In other words, very safe.

So you take the cute Louis pix, add a dead link, mix with a mysterious tweet and you have a riot of attention for Harry and by extension, SOTT. And as luck would have it, SOTT will be performed live for the first time this Saturday on SNL. Smell what’s cooking here? I believe it was a stunt.

The way it was set up gives Harry plausible deniability as this fandom–trained like Pavlov’s dog–immediately screamed “hack” because 1DHQ has used that for publicity and as a cover for shadiness for at least 5 years. The earliest 1D hack story I can recall was back in 2012. Even though the tweet invites speculation, the gossip press continues to call Larry something 1D fans made up, there’s no chance of really being outed via this incident and of course, the hack excuse means we’ll never be able to confirm it was really Harry (or his team).

Temporarily satiated at having a Larry fix, salty Larries will put aside hard feelings and support SOTT. Follow the money.

As for Ziam, that relationship has already been used to promo MOM, beginning January 2016 with Liam’s out-of-the-blue “I love Zayn” airport ho stroll. Two weeks later, Pillowtalk dropped. In hindsight, it seems like that could have been a bone thrown to the Ziam fandom to make up for Zayn and Liam’s long, painful, public separation, which continues to this day. But, Zayn was eventually allowed to speak of Liam and being in touch and there was some twitter interaction too. And that keeps Ziam supporters engaged–and buying. Larry could be following a similar track. Because like it or not, these are two sizable sub-fandoms and our money spends like everybody else’s. 1DHQ now understands that.

Of course this has nothing to do with Larry or Ziam not being “real”. It’s all about 1DHQ learning how to make a perceived problem work for them.

🔥 eowyn?

Ah ok I think an actually unpopular one! I really do love Eowyn’s story/arc, and I think the thing with her desire to be in (die in) battle being more of a personal mental health issue, and her deciding to not fight anymore afterwards because war and violence is godawful and so is wanting to die gloriously, is a lot more interesting than just a pure straightforward woman-can-be-warriors-too thing, but I do have some issues with how it’s written.

First like, while I don’t at all agree with the people who say “man it’s so disempowering that she stopped fighting wouldn’t it be better if she GOT TO KEEP KILLING BECAUSE WOW TOLKIEN’S MESSAGE IS TOTALLY THAT KILLING ROCKS” it’s definitely IMO a writing problem that okay sure, so it just so happens that the character used to demonstrate the wrongheadedness of the idea of battle being glorious and worth-conferring is the one woman fighter defying sexism and gender role stuff? While all the male warriors go on being warriors without going through some arc involving being taught about how war blows and you shouldn’t want to die in war and how great it is to not have to fight in wars? Sure, just a coincidence. (Like most problems with writing female characters, this is 90% a problem of there just being too few female characters to compare with each other, not a problem with Eowyn’s situation itself.)

I have no problem with this from an in-universe perspective because the obvious in-universe reason is that Eowyn, as a woman, has the option to not have to keep on being a warrior during all the cleaning-up shit after the War of the Ring, which is not an option available to men like Faramir, Eomer, Aragorn, etc, who are tied to this men-are-warriors thing because of their official duties and social expectations. But like, would be nice to have something to acknowledge this, like a few lines reflecting on the irony of the same sexist stuff also being a reason Eowyn gets to not have to fight anymore, while the men gotta keep on fighting, and fighting is horrible and miserable. Or better like, something about how Eowyn’s being a woman means she’s not as trapped by the whole macho a-real-man-is-a-killer idea that most men living in a warrior culture are trapped in, and is more free to define her worth differently. Or you know…something. To address why the woman is the one who this particular arc is applied to - even though IMO the arc is a really good one!

Second, on a more Eowyn-specific note, her decision to become a healer specifically is not very well-foreshadowed or developed, it’s just sort of set up as a counterpoint to warmaking. Which makes perfect sense thematically but it would have been greatly improved (and wouldn’t be very out-of-place or hogging-of-pagetime) if the groundwork for this decision had been better laid out in her character previously. Like for example, idk, as part of her comments about being in a cage and wasting time until she’s too old to do anything was linked to concrete experiences of…her previously studying and interested in healing but becoming disillusioned and deciding healing was pointless or soul-sucking because everyone who gets patched up winds up going back to war and dying ANYWAY so what’s even the point. And kind of linking that to her whole struggle with despair, or idk something better or more subtle than that, but you get the general idea.

Imagine Jo still being alive, an experienced hunter by now. And meeting Claire. She’d understand, maybe even better than Dean, because Claire might be a young!Dean mirror, but Dean sees her from the position of a parental figure. Jo would see herself in Claire, because she’s been there too. Wanting to prove herself, even overestimating herself sometimes. Claire learned pretty much the same thing in 12x16 that Jo learned in 2x06 (imo?): that she can’t immediately be a good hunter by sheer force of will. It takes knowledge and skill and training and friends. And it’s okay to be scared. But she’d also understand why Claire wants to do this on her own.
