this was the day i met them

anonymous asked:

Do you realise that when all of you obsess over these men and make gifs of them you cement yourselves as fans and now have very little chance of ever actually getting to know these people? Like if you met them, they wouldn't really consider being friends/relationships with fans because you guys spend your days making gifs about them and knowing EVERYTHING about them, which would be so weird to me. what's your opinion on that? I don't mean to like hate but I am just so interested in you guys haha

When this anon starts out aggressive but quickly backtracks hmmm, okay?

I hope you realise that we make gifs because we’re fans and that’s what fans in fandoms do,,, make stuff about the things we enjoy. Are you, anon, not part of any fandom on tumblr? Because I’ve never met a person who wouldn’t jump at the chance to meet their idol (be it a youtube celebrity, an actor, or musician).

Do you honestly believe that our main wish in life is to become friends with the people we fangirl over? Because that really isn’t the case? Yes, I would love to meet Dan and Phil but I don’t think I would even attempt to be friends with them nor do I believe it is a possibility (Would I turn down the chance? No). We, as fans, know our boundaries (at least most of us do) and are content with just fangirling about our favourites on the internet.

added bonus: dan was a fan of phil before they met so like doesn’t that defeat your entire argument?

you ship sheith? hi (pls talk about your headcanons)

Thank you.

I don’t have loads, but Shiro first met Keith at a recruitment drive. Keith wasn’t interested in the slightest (or that’s what he told himself) but he was hanging around the compound. A couple of muggers decided Keith would be an easy target so they jumped him. Shiro spotted them, was about to help, when Keith displayed his incredible fighting technique and held them off. Shiro persuades him to ‘at least look at our literature’ and before the end of the day, Keith’s signed up.

Feeling somewhat responsible, Shiro helped Keith feel as if he belonged somewhere  at the Garrison. They formed a friendship first of all, Keith finally finding someone he could trust and open up to (a weeny bit) and Shiro finding he liked spending quiet times in the compound just talking to Keith or staring at the stars.  For Shiro, who was/is such a hero in the Garrison, it was good to have someone he could just chill with.

When Shiro was captured and experimented on, he kept himself going and not giving in to despair by memories of happier times. He’d also witnessed Keith’s struggle at the Garrison and the way he fought everyone, and he used that to keep himself alive.

When they’re reunited it tales a long while for anything approaching a relationship to happen. They have bad guys to defeat, a team to form, and lives to piece back together. Shiro is damaged by his year in captivity and Keith is still hiding his parentage and trying to figure out who he is.

But they have a strong bond. And whether this bond is platonic, romantic, sexual, brotherly or comrades-in-arms, it is vitally important to both of them.

They both like hot chocolate, although Keith gets distracted and scalds the milk.

Jasper: “Liar!”

Murphy: “Why would I lie to you? I could brag about how I spent night’s out with your sister banging her under the stars but you know what? We were a normal couple…and she didn’t want your parents to know about me so she always left early, whispering apologies into my ear promising “One day I’ll introduce you to my parents.”

Jasper: “S-She said she met you and that she loved you so much…and that I had to keep it a secret ‘cause our parents would freak out about her going out with a punk like you…I…so…she lied?”

Their eyes met and suddenly the boys realized Faye had lied to both of them. And that the reason why she was dead had nothing to do with both of them either.

Phrack Prompts

1. “I hate you, but I love you.”
2. “Will you ever understand?! I did it because I love you!”
3. “I didn’t know I could feel this way, til I met you.”
4. “You look…stunning.”
5. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
6. “Touch her again, and you’ll regret it!”
7. “Five more minutes…?”
8. “Stop stealing the covers.”
9. “You know, you’re really sexy when you’re angry.”
10. “is that my shirt?”

So I’m suffering from a bit of a lack of inspiration…feel free to choose a prompt and message me and I’ll have a go at a drabble or more…

10 is already prompted!

more prompted! Thanks. May take a couple of days to do them all…but keep em coming!

Nature Spirits Across the United States

I recently crossed the country, South Carolina to California, and met several different spirits. Since I was passing through I didn’t have time to really talk to each spirit so I’m mentioning them all in one post, maybe one day I can go back and give each kind the research they are due.

Cloud Dragon:

Somewhere out in the Midwest, I believe in the upper part of Texas, I came across a vastly huge cloud dragon. She was a mother, and had a horde of her children surrounding her. She emanated power, but gentleness at the same time. She made you feel safe and warm, comforted. However any danger to her children would be the end of you. She was a kind spirit but a mother before all. Her children numbered in the hundreds I’d say, although I didn’t bother to count. They seemed very content and followed their mother as they went on a family hunting trip. I couldn’t quite see what it was they were hunting, but some sort of air spirits. Some of the children had caught some of the smaller ones, and it seemed like the mother was teaching them to hunt. She was very proud of her family. She clearly had at least human level intelligence (most likely above) and though she didn’t speak to me, she expressed several emotions and had I the time to speak with her I’m sure I would have learned a great deal.

Giant Rodents:

Through the long stretches of desert in New Mexico and going on to Arizona, I saw glimpses of huge creatures bounding through the desert and mountains. They hid among the trees and even with their size their camouflage abilities were good. They looked like some sort of cross between mice and rabbits, not quite fitting into either group. They didn’t try to communicate with me, or seem to have enough intelligence to get through a proper conversation. Very animalistic, propelled by fear. With their huge shadows dancing across the plains they seemed too large to be afraid of anything naturally, but something in their movements pointed to a hunter that at least matched their size. We didn’t stay long enough to find out.

Cactus People:

There seemed to be a society of cactus spirits, roughly humanoid in appearance, living in groups and very active in their own communities. I was just a passerby, but I wish I could have stayed to learn more about their culture. They had at least human level intelligence, seemed very social amongst their own kind. They paid little attention to me but I simply observed from my car. They talked among themselves, with light hearted attitudes and energies. I couldn’t see a difference in gender, but since they were so like their namesake it’s very likely they didn’t have a concept of gender at all. I saw mostly adults, going as tall as ten feet, even more although there were smaller ones as well. I met these folks in Arizona, and plan on going back to speak with them and learn about their culture.

Flying Stingrays:

At the Grand Canyon I saw a flock of what can only be described as stingrays. They seemed to be made of some sort of mixture of air and water, flying as though they were swimming in the sea. There were many of them, 30 or 40 maybe, flying together. They didn’t acknowledge my presence any, but watching them was incredible. They dipped and spun and weaved their way through the rock formations, clearly comfortable with the area. I believe they were fresh water related, but I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

Sequoia Little Green People:

At the end of my trip I went to the Sequoia National Park, which was wonderful in its own right. There were several spirits there, but the ones that caught my attention the most were the little green people. They reminded me of the tree spirits in Princess Mononoke, small, childlike, and curious. They were curious of me and I was of them. They were shy so I couldn’t get too close but they watched me as I made my way around the park. Under trees, in the grass, in groups and solitary I saw them. There were hundreds of these guys, dashing around and communicating to each other somehow. I didn’t hear any sort of language but they were clearly communicating among each other. They seemed to be playing games, like hide and seek and the like. They had another group that looked very similar to them, but instead of green they were the color of the rocks in the area. They clearly were related in some way, but there was a distinct difference between the groups. They communicated to each other but more or less stayed with their own kind, and in their own areas. The green ones stayed with the plants mostly, and the rock people stayed closer to the barren cliffs. I didn’t sense any animosity between them, they just knew their own kind. Lovely creatures.

Crossing the country was an amazing, eye opening experience. I met many spirits I’d never thought of in places I’d never been before, and I loved it. Shrub boars roamed the west, water spirits called out to play from the rivers I crossed, the trees whispered among themselves. A great way to meet new spirits is to travel and keep your eyes peeled.

@electricinndigo if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have joined indie and met all these cool people through you. I enjoy your writing and characters, and by god you are talented with your editing and graphics, like gtfo.

@prtzlstix you are so sweet and would listen to me ramble about problems and offer a solution and I thank you for that. I also love rping with you and our babies, glad I met you randomly one day without any idea on waht I was doing in indie world.

@sierrasrps what can I say besides how much I enjoy writing with you (and killin u with them feels) Your graphics and edits are amazing and I’m hella jealous that when I try and make something it turns out trash. You are gifted.

@tehkatieofrps yo im glad we started talking more cause i am such an awkward turtle i don’t know how to keep a conversation going and we’re so alike its kind of freaky? But you are a great writer and I love rping with your characters too and our brotps and all that jazz. So much words to say.

What is a story you have been dying to tell?

When I was 15 years old, I ran away from home because I was pissed off at my parents for a reason I cant remember. I didnt have much money, so I decided to hop onto the skytrain(public transport train in British Columbia) and ride it as far as it would go. I reached the end of the line in less then an hour, and decided I wanted to ride it all the way back again, while trying to formulate some kind of plan of how I wanted to live the rest of my life without my parents or anyone. At the last stop, or the first stop depending on your perspective of it, a girl came on and sat in the row right behind me. I didnt pay much attention to her at first, as I was busy writing my life plan on a napkin. It was a few minutes later that she got up and came sat next to me, curious as to what I was writing. I told her the story, and after a few laughs, we began talking about everything and anything. Her name was Amanda, 17 years old, and absolutely wonderful. She told me she was getting off at the last stop, which was also the first stop, depending on how you look at it. It was also the stop I had gotten on originally, and I told her we would ride to it together. The train ride took less then an hour, and what a wonderful hour indeed.

When the last stop did come, we both knew we probably wouldnt see each other ever again(this was before the days of cellphones, and I was a shy little kid afraid to make moves). As we got to the end of the sidewalk which split in two different directions, she went right and I went left. Before saying goodbye she turned to me and asked me a question that has become a wonderful part of my life; she asked me, “Tell me something you have done, or want to do, that you think I should do? It can be anything, as challenging as you want it to be, or as easy. As long as you give me the rest of my life to complete it, I promise I will do it..” I was confused as to why, but I thought about it, and told her, “Sing a song acapella in a room full of strangers.” She said perfect and asked me if I would like a challenge as well. I told her I did, and she told me, “read, from start to finish, “Ulysses” by James Joyce.” I had never heard of it at the time, but I agreed, and we said our goodbyes.

I have a awful memory, and cant remember most conversations I have with most people. But I remember all of that clearly. You know why? Because of the challenge she gave me. In the 12 years that have past since, I have tried to read that book in over 150 different sittings. Everytime I open my copy of the 780 page monster of a book, I always think of her, and I always think of that day. Ive never been sure if it was her intent or not, but she left her lasting memory on me with that challenge. I soon after learned what she did, was a completey wonderful and amazing thing for me. So I decided to keep it going. Ive met a lot of strangers in my life; some that have become friends, and some, due to living in different time zones and whatnot, didnt. I dont want to just have experiences and then let them go. I want to remember these meetings, and embrace the fact that they happened. So whenever I leave someone who has left an amazing impact of my life, I always make sure to add them to my Ulysses Bucket List. I ask them to give me a challenge, as difficult or as easy as they want it to be, and regardless of the fact that they have done it or not; simply something their heart has had wanted to do.

Some have been easy and fun; I met a man in India 9 years ago who told me to, for a week or a month, cook/buy twice as much food as I intend on eating, and give the other half to a stranger in need. I completed that mission 8 years ago, and thought about that man and the time we had all the way through. I met a girl on a cruise 6 years ago, who told me to jump into a body of water on a slightly cold day, without touching or feeling the temperature of the water first. I did that the very same year. I met a couple at an outdoor music festival a few years ago that told me to wear the most bizarre outfit imaginable and walk through a public place, completely oblivious to the fact that you arent looking normal. I did that task the very next day, at the same festival. Some have been difficult, to say the least: three guys I met in Amsterdam and smoked all night with, told me to go to a mall and give 10 strangers 10 presents. That one took a lot of courage, but I did it a year or so after I met them. It was nerve racking, but at the same time exhilerating leaving my comfort zone. A girl I met on a plane told me to sky dive; Im still in the process of getting that done. A couple I met in Cali on the beach told me to tell the 5 people I hated the most, that I love them and respect them. That one was very difficult because of my stubborness, but ive come close to completing that list many a times(still in the process, 2 more people to go).

And some things, have had an everlasting impact on my daily life. I met a girl at a music festival, who told me that whenever I get mad at someone, walk away, sing my happy song in my head for 5 minutes, go back to the person im mad at with a clam heart and mind, and work things out. Ive made this my way of life. I once met a man at a gym in a hotel I was staying at, that told me “whenever your body and brain tells your that you are exhausted and done…use your heart instead and push out 2 more reps.” Ive made this my motto when working out or working on any kind of extrenuating exercise in which my body demands me to quit. I also use it while working on anything, and while studying. One of the best pieces of advice ive ever received.

There are many others that each brought joy to my life. There are still many tasks I have yet to accomplish, and everytime I think of these tasks, I think of the people that gave them to me. It amazes me how well I remember all these people, while I cant remember so many aspects of even yesterday. These experiences, not only do I take from them a “mission” or a “challenge”, I also take from them a memory of them that never fails to appear inside of my mind. I opened my Ulysses book for probably the 300th time yesterday, and read a few pages, which prompted me to share this story with you today. Im in the final 30 pages of the book, also known as the most dreaded of the read(in the last 40 pages or so, James Joyce doesnt use a single punctuation mark; no periods, no commas, no nothing; a straight 50 page run-on sentence).

I never saw Amanda after that day, nor do I know if she ever did get a chance to sing a song to a room full of strangers. But what I do know, is that she gave me a gift that has never once stopped giving. So wherever you may be, thank you for giving me the Ulysses Bucket List. And I swear i’ll finish it one day. My life advice? Simple: Create your own Ulysses bucket list.

THIS IS NOT SCIENCE

Context: Playing Rifts. My character was a vampire, but nobody knew I was a vampire. Vampires in Rifts are near-invulnerable. A nazi-like Coalition had caught up with our group in an attempt to destroy us. A fight ensued. My character got blasted on by 10 soldiers.

GM: All of you watch as this man gets absolutely pelted with wave after wave of laser bullets. His body topples and goes flying in to a wall. To your astonishment, he gets back up, his clothes a mess but otherwise unharmed. The soldiers all scramble to reload their guns in horror.

Medic: *shuffles through his biology book* THIS IS NOT SCIENCE!!

Vampire: Okay, I’m pissed. I go in to a blood rage and start cutting through them.

GM: You watch as this “man” uses his bare hands to cut through power armor, his blows literally turning people in to pudding. Any attempt to stop him is met with death.

Medic: *tears up his biology book* THAT’S IT! I QUIT! THIS IS BULLSHIT! SCIENCE HAS FORSAKEN US! LET’S GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF POW-WOWS AND VOODOO HEALING MAGIC!

Sorcerer: You talking shit about magic?!

Medic: *caws like a pterosaur*

{part i} {part ii} {part iii} {part iv} {part v}

Sitting up in your bed, you stared at the window, not sure of how to react to seeing Spider-Man’s masked face through the glass.  Throwing back your covers, you quietly walked over to the window, grabbing a hoodie that Peter had lent you as you passed your desk.  Sliding the glass panel up, you climbed out onto the metal fire escape, slipping on and zipping up Peter’s hoodie to protect you from the cold.

The superhero stood where he had first stood, the night he saved your life and blew up Vizzini’s all those months ago.  And there, to his right, were the flower pots that he had tripped over the first time he came back for you.  Those stairs were where you would sit and draw while he watched your fingers fly across the page, amazed at the pictures you created.  Behind him was the railing that you would lean against as you looked at the Queens skyline together.  This fire escape was your entire relationship condensed, the one location where you were allowed to be with each other.  If you used your imagination, you could almost see every single night playing out in front of your eyes.  Spider-Man, with a bendy straw underneath his mask.  Spider-Man, attempting to draw you in the moonlight.  Spider-Man, his hand on your waist and the other in your hair. Spider-Man.

170811 - Meeting Monsta X at Starbucks in Berlin

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I met Monsta X on the streets of Berlin yesterday. Or at least two of them, my bias and bias wrecker, Jooheon and Kihyun. Nice.

Basically. My friend (from the Czech Republic) and I (from Sweden) had wandered around all day, visiting the kpop store and all that. Then we were standing by a pedestrian crossing, waiting for the green light. And suddenly this guy walked up to my side and I had to take a double take bc, ‘Is that Kihyun???????’. My heart dropped and I turned to my friend and was like “IT’S KIHYUN IT’S KIHYUN OMFG IT’S KIHYUN.” BC HOLY SHIT HALF A METER FROM ME STOOD THE ACTUAL YOO KIHYUN!!!! Sorry I’m still freaking out holy shit. He looked like a f**king god, looking all artsy in his round golden glasses and big camera. Plus: no make-up!Kihyun is 👌 👌 💕 👅 👅 😭 💖

Kihyun then waved to someone on the other side. We thought it was his manager bc what would he be doing all by himself in Berlin when his concert is just in a few hours?? Suddenly the light turned green and he went ahead of us, and since we thought that it was his manager on the other side of the road (we couldn’t see the person he was waving to yet) we didn’t want to ask for his autograph since they usually aren’t allowed to do that.

But then we saw who he was waving to. J O O H E O N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was also standing by himself, wearing slippers, shorts and a wind jacket. He looked so fluffy and smol and okay imma stop talking. So now we had to make a decision in 0.1 second, are we going to follow them and ask for their autographs or just go back home?

We decided to follow them, walking about 100 meters behind them. After only a minute or two they went into a Starbucks and we stopped outside. After about two minutes of freaking out we decided that our last chance was to also go in, just look at them and then leave without bothering them. So now my friend was literally standing right next to Jooheon (who ordered an iced americano for Kihyun and a coffee with milk for himself bc that’s important information). When he’d ordered he stood beside Kihyun who were waiting for their orders. Then one of the cashiers recognized them and asked for a photo, and they actually agreed to take the picture so yeah. My hands were shaking so bad when I payed for my drink but I’m proud of my friend and I bc we actually managed to act like any other customers in the café (where are our Oscars?).

While we were waiting for my friend’s drink, the boys left the café and we were kind of sad bc yep they’re leaving and we’re not going to follow them. But then they sat down at a table outside! At this point a total of five girls + a really kind dad had noticed them. So we looked outside and saw that they actually signed autographes to the girls! So they basically only sat down to make those fans happy and sign their stuff (stan monsta x) And now we freaked out again bc neither one of us had a pen nor a piece of paper. But when we walked outside a girl let us borrow her pen and paper so that was really nice of her (I owe her my life).

While my friend was doing something else, I walked up to their table, Kihyun to my left and Jooheon in front of me. I just said that I was “so so sorry for disturbing them but can I please get an autograph?” Kihyun made his “pftttth” laugh with his eyes looking like half moon crescents (y'all know which one I mean), but he took my paper and signed it. Since Kihyun was to my left I couldn’t really look him in the face that well, so when I spoke I mostly looked at Jooheon. I was stuttering like an idiot in the beginning but I was shaking so much while trying to act cool and look calm lmao. I basically told them that I was “really excited for the concert tonight” to which Jooheon replied with an “oh really?~” AND HIS DIMPLES ARE SO FREAKING DEEP MAN I SWEAR TO GOD THAT BOY WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME. . So yeah I basically managed to keep eye contact with JH for like 15 seconds and then I just said “thank you so much and sorry for disturbing” to which Kihyun replied with a “It’s alright” then I  left so that I wouldn’t disturb them more than I already had.

A short clip of me saying the last sentence and Kihyun replying with “it’s alright”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czvAkLV6-Kw

The video was recorded by smallestnose

So yeah, in totalt there were five people plus my friend and I who noticed them that time. Everyone was really respectful and left as soon as they got their autographs. My friend and I left (shaking like idek) and when we looked back when we had walked about 300 meters, we noticed that the boys had left.

So yep that was the first time I met an idol and talked to one. Also, you should know that I’ve always thought that I would be one meter taller than every mx member (I’m 175 cm [5'8 ish inches?]) but both Kihyun and Jooheon were taller than me. They looked 300x more beautiful in person and both of them were tanned and just yeah. Kihyun looked like a photography student who just walked out of class while Jooheon looked like a fluffy 22 y/o who just woke up, hair in a mess.

So now I own a paper with their autographes (jh signed w J-honey i mean yes i’m dead) and I’m just so so so so grateful that they took their time to make their fans happy. A plus is that the concert also was bomb af.

Basically: never be one of those fans who tries to search for the location they last were seen, just walk around, do your thing. And if it happens it happens, ya know?

Have fun being stranded in the Philippines.

Please be patient, the buildup to this is intense and long but the resulting revenge has probably put me on the Devil’s shortlist. (tl:dr at the end)

About 3 months before I finally quit, I was getting really pissed. Management was never in the office, the Owner couldn’t make up his mind about anything, and so many people were quitting that I ended up being the only Programmer/Developer in an office of about 50 people… for a company that received 95% of its business from online sales. People started taking credit for my work and I decided to quit. Looked around for jobs, found one pretty quickly, and put in my two weeks notice with a nice little note that simply said something to the effect of “I hereby resign, effective blah blah blah”.

Lo and behold the man who had in the last few days become my manager (we’ll call him Frank) instead of idk maybe promoting the only programmer in the company to the head of the development department, begged me to stay, promised me a raise, and told me about their new project and how he wanted me to be involved.
