this was super difficult to colour

mchanzo week day 4 - red/blue

i love the contrasting colour schemes of these two, i think thats one of the reasons i love them as a couple so much
doing big coloured/lined pieces is so difficult in a single day! but im loving the challenge

[commissions are open! | i have a redbubble ]

Happy Spring, my dears! To celebrate my favourite season, I present to you a tarot challenge for the month of April. You are 100% welcome to alter or skip days as makes you comfortable, as these are just my own silly suggestions. Also, please feel free to @ me or tag with April Fool Tarot Challenge to share your adventures through the month! Write as artistically or as informally as you like! (PS I realise this is a little early/long-winded, I honestly just got excited). Anyway, with your consent, I wish you all the growth and warmth of the season! :)

1. The April Fool Spread: Shuffle, and find the Fool. The cards on either side are “what to be optimistic about this month” and “what to be wary of, in case it’s a trick”

2. Tarot Garden: Go through your decks and see if you can find at least three different flower species depicted. Take a super aesthetic photo of this tarot garden!

3. The Sun Cross Spread: Shuffle and find the Sun. The cards on either side are things that will warm up your spring

4. Green Thumb: Find three cards (or more!) with green as the dominant colour. Do the cards’ meanings relate somehow? If differentiating colours is difficult, select one or more cards that mean “growth” to you.

5. The April Showers Spread: Pull a card to represent April showers (an upcoming challenge), and another to show May flowers (a potential positive outcome of this challenge)

6. The Spring Cleaning Spread: Pull (randomly or by design) a card to represent something that needs to leave your life

7. The “That Gross Dirty Melting Snow” Spread (I asked my boyfriend what spring reminds him of, which was a mistake): Tell your deck the beginning of a classic joke, and then pull the punchline. Guaranteed to be an experience.

8. The Diamond Spread: For the April birthstone, pull four cards to represent Luxury, Clarity, Strength, and Rarity for the situation of your choosing

9. The Blossom Spread: Pull a Blossom (something to strive for), a Stem (what to do to help you get there), and Roots (what you already have that will guide your journey).

10. Wild Cards: Take a photo of your cards out in nature (or if you can’t leave your house, with a sweet houseplant!)

11. Haiku: Pull three random cards to write a haiku

12. Sweet Pea: For the birth flower of April, talk about a card that always makes you feel good when you pull it

13. Rubber Boots: Pull a card randomly. Its numerical value is your puddle-jumping-armour stat. How wet are your feet?

14. Hanami: Pull a card (randomly or by design) to represent something that doesn’t last long, so needs to be appreciated while it’s here

15. Tea Time: Have some tea with your cards! You’re halfway through and deserve a break.

16. The Two Easters Spread: My family celebrates both new and old calendar holidays, meaning that we usually have two Easters a year. This year, both fall on the same day (today)! To celebrate, pull two cards: The Resurrection (a lesson you could learn from your childhood self), and Renewed Hope (a message you need to hear from your deck). Feel free to alter this one as is comfortable for your spirituality.

17. The Spring Fling Spread: Shuffle, then spread your cards face up. Are the Lovers closer to the Emperor or the Empress? Use this as advice in your interpersonal relationships

18. Fairy Tales: Pull a card or two to tell us what your life as a garden fairy would be like

19. The Aries Spread: For the last day of this sign, pull a card each for the four stars of the Aries constellation. These will represent Passion (something to pour your heart into), Impulse (something to follow your gut on), Optimism (something to lift your spirits), and Aggression (something frustrating to work on).

20. The Taurus Spread: Taurus has way too many stars for this (lol), so instead, pull a card each for its two horns. One to represent something wonderfully stable, and one to represent something just a little stubborn.

21. The Chinook Spread: Pull a card to represent a very rapid change

22. The Earth Day Spread: Pull a card (or two or three) as a reminder of everything the planet has done for you!

23. The Rainy Day Spread: Pull three cards suggesting your next rainy day activities

24. Tanka: Pull five cards to write a tanka (like a haiku, but the syllables are 5-7-5-7-7)

25. Spring Break: Build a house of cards as best you can. Share pictures, even if it’s kind of a mess (I know mine will be)

26. The Weather: Describe today’s weather using tarot cards! Maybe even try to predict tomorrow’s weather, if you’re feeling it

27. The Migration Spread: Place five cards in a V, like geese flying north for the summer. What are you flying towards?

28. The Arbour Day Spread: A pine tree needs all four classical elements to survive: earth to hold onto, air to breathe, water to drink, and fire to release its seeds. Choose one card of each suit to describe yourself.

29. Rainbow: Find cards in each colour of the rainbow, for the sheer aesthetic of it. If differentiating colours is difficult (or your deck is fairly monochrome), find a handful of your happiest cards and lay them out in an arch.

30. Sunday Brunch: You’re off for a lovely Sunday brunch. Which court card(s) do you invite?

Interview: Teloka Berry

Today we’re joined by Teloka Berry. Teloka is a phenomenally talented visual artist from Australia. She’s a digital artist and specializes in comics. She also does portraits, original characters, and fanart. Aside from that, Teloka also does crafts. It’s very clear that she’s an incredibly dedicated artist, as you’ll soon read. My thanks to her for taking the time to participate in this interview.

Please, tell us about your art.

I’m a digital artist, and primarily a character illustrator and story-teller. I do stuff like portraits, comics, original characters and fan-art, and sell crafts and merch like stickers.

My very favourite things to do are comics, both short ones and long form ones! I like stories with a strong focus on acearo, queer and neuroatypical characters who are just having adventures in various genres, and my personal schtick leans heavily towards acearo girls who want to form lasting commitments and have relationships with other girls.

I have two long-haul projects. Let’s Celebrate!, my queer magical girl themed webcomic has been live for almost three years now, and features an acearo lead and a bunch of silly festive super powers. It’s very lighthearted but still explores various celebrations from around the world, mental illness and communication, and features a bunch of monsters that the girls/guys/nb-pals fight with improbable weapons like giant candy canes. You can see it here:

My second long haul project is collaborative with my girlfriend which we’re hoping to release early next year, and it will be an online graphic novel in installments. It’s a supernatural, Lovecraftian kind of adventure-thriller, structured around the Great Australian Road-Trip in rural Queensland. It follows an established acearo f/f couple, who accidentally enter an outback region they can’t leave filled with frightening “Locals” and those long roads that go on “forever”.

What inspires you?

I’m going to sound super cheesy when I say this but… my girlfriend? Haha, I’m pretty inspired by personal experiences and personal interests, I suppose. I spend a lot of time drawing and illustrating stuff based on things we’ve done together or concepts we talked about and came up with together.

Maybe also like … spite, to be honest. I’m kind of tired of heteronormative stories and the same straight white male leads who fight the Big Bad and get the girl with very little actual effort. I love to write and see stories about girls, especially queer and neurodivergent girls, doing cool stuff and saving the day and being in genres they’re generally sidelined in, like action stuff or zombies.

That aside I find music and bright cheerful colour palettes quite inspiring, and use both of them a lot in my work. And the work of other artists who I look up to, of course! I’m pretty visual so if I see something that is just aesthetically pleasing to me (like some architecture, a posing angle, fairy lights in a shop window) I’ll probably think about how to incorporate it into an art piece sooner or later.

What got you interested in your field?  Have you always wanted to be an artist?

I’ve always been really crafty and drawn or scribbled stuff, so I guess so? I got serious about artwork at about 13, when I entered high school and fell in with fellow artsy-sorts who enabled the habit. I started out like most teens on DeviantArt back then with an anthro fursona, and made more friends online that encouraged me, and so I just… persisted with it. I don’t think I ever had particular plans to be an artist, or to be anything for that matter, but it’s probably my stand out skill now. I draw every day and love my stories and characters a lot!

Do you have any kind of special or unique signature, symbol, or feature you include in your work that you’d be willing to reveal?

Probably like I mentioned in that first long ramble I did, I have a really strong narrative interest in queer stories, and especially a focus on acearo mentally ill girls and healthy relationships. Artistically/Stylistically though… no, haha, I have absolutely zero consistency in my work, I’m so bad at that!

Usually when I pitch it to other people they’ll say stuff like “sparkles!” or “colours!” or “same face syndrome!”, so maybe that’s the answer here? I like colours a lot and playing around with harsh lighting. I also draw a lot of birds, because… birb.

What advice would you give young aspiring artists?

1. Give it a go! If you want to do it, just do it. It’s worthwhile, even if all it ever does is bring you happiness or relaxation to create; that’s super important and you deserve it.

2. Quite difficult, but don’t compare your creation to other peoples work negatively. Be critical of your own work, sure, and always, always strive to improve. But your work is not anyone else’s but your own, so try not to be disheartened if it doesn’t look like something else you wanted it to look like. It looks like it’s yours, and that’s the best thing it could be.

3. This one is for minority groups in storytelling especially (I figure relevant here on an ace positive blog), and something I’ve struggled with a lot but: Tell that story about your own experiences/preferences if you want to tell it. Create your own representation if you can and want to.

It’s not self-centered, it’s not “too much”, it’s not unpalatable, it’s not boring, and it’s not cheesy. Don’t feel like you can only put one character from a minority group in your story, and don’t feel like you can’t have characters who you relate to or have traits like you in your story. You do not have to write in something for “someone else” to relate to or have straight white men in your story for it to be “acceptable”, regardless of what popular media seems to be trying to say.

For example, when we started on the roadtrip story I mentioned earlier, we thought “is two whole acearo girls in a story… too many? should one of them at least… be bi?” and while scripting I’ve often wondered ”is this chronically anxious character having too many anxiety attacks…? should I just have them handle this thing better so that their mental illness is showing less?”. And the answer to those things is obviously no. Show that mental illness. Have only acearo leads. Have a whole cast of POC. There’s no such thing as “too much” representation of your minority characters and stories, and if they’re based on your personal experiences or desires- great. Because nobody else can tell that for you; it’s yours.

Where on the spectrum do you identify?

I’m a cis girl (she/hers) and I identify as asexual and aromantic, though I might more accurately be quoiromantic as I don’t really understand the difference between platonic and romantic relationships, though I absolutely don’t experience attraction regardless. I previously considered myself panromantic because I “want to be emotionally intimate” with friends quite intensely and have close relationships, but I later realized that I don’t experience romantic attraction so… aromantic-spec it is.

Have you encountered any kind of ace prejudice or ignorance in your field?  If so, how do you handle it?

I’ve actually experienced very little ace prejudice. I’ve found straight people to be confused and commit some naïve-microaggressions at best, and mostly they just want me to explain what it meant and expressed general confusion about how I could not feel sexual attraction. (except for those dudes, you know, the: “well you just haven’t been with me yet” narcissists.)

I also had an abuser who ID’d on the ace spectrum, who would constantly guilt me about my orientation and say I would be a disappointment to my partner/s, that I was “broken”, or that I was just “trying to be holier than thou” and all kinds of toxic shit. So it really can come from anywhere.

The absolute worst ongoing prejudice I’ve seen has been from gatekeepers in the gay and lesbian communities. No surprises there. So many “sapphic safe place” blogs will reblog artwork of my girlfriend and I, which is clearly f/f and I get the lovely gift of seeing their acephobic descriptions on how ace people don’t belong in the queer community and queer is a slur, while they profit from artwork literally featuring two acearo girls.

What’s the most common misconception about asexuality that you’ve encountered?

Lately there’s plenty of stuff going around tumblr especially about how asexuality doesn’t equal celibacy, and that it’s not a choice. True, absolutely! But I still very often see asexuality conflated with sex repulsion, or a lack of libido (and aromance with a lack of interest in close intimate relationships at all).

Sure, it can be that way, but it’s not universal for all aces or aros. Just like any orientation, asexual people can sit anywhere on the libido and/or repulsed spectrums. They are not the same at all, and it’s super toxic that it has become popularly interchangeable, because I’m often seeing ace characters who “hate to be touched” and it just…

Ace people can be sex positive and interested in intimacy.

Allosexual people can be sex repulsed or simply disinterested.

And sex repulsed people of any orientation can also still be highly sensual and have a libido and still really want to have sex (that’s me!).

All these things are separate experiences. Neither drive nor repulsion are intrinsically tied to each other or to asexuality, which is the lack of sexual attraction, and not the lack of desire for touch.

I think that’s a super important distinction that’s often lost. My stories focus on this a lot, and almost all of my comics and stories feature acearo characters who still actively seek close emotional intimacy- because aro people are not unfeeling robots- and who also like to experiment or be close to their partners physically- because ace doesn’t necessarily mean no libido or interest.

And it’s super alienating to sensual or libido aces to see the narrative that “to be ace means you can’t ever want to have sex with someone else” perpetuated. It feels like something that, in years to come, is going to segue into Ace-Gatekeeping-v2.0, and I’d like to see communication and compassion stop that before it happens.

What advice would you give to any asexual individuals out there who might be struggling with their orientation?

Auuhhh… uhmmm I’m really not an ideal person to put in like… advice giving roles. I’m still learning stuff myself; the Living Experience is pretty enormous! But perhaps the best thing I found (for me) was to have close friends who I could talk to about being ace and aro. If you have other friends who are already knowledgeable or confident in their own sexuality and ID on the acearo spec then that is probably the safest way, and they can explain things to you and answer questions.

There are also a variety of previously linked ace-help blogs and websites, and probably honestly… a lot of the artists featured on this blog would probably be happy to answer anon-questions and stuff about their experiences if you get in touch? I’d be happy to, for sure. That might be good for anyone who feels isolated or confused and doesn’t want to have a name attached to their questions!

Finally, where can people find out more about your work?

You can find my artblog, where I post most of my art and links and updates on the above mentioned projects here: I should warn that there are some suggestive works on there and it’s pretty heavy on the f/f content. There’s nothing graphic and no actual nudity, mostly just implications of intimacy and some power dynamics, but it might be a bit much for some minors or anyone intimacy-repulsed, so take it with a grain of salt.

Let’s Celebrate! is completely PG and can be found here: which has links offsite to places like Tapastic.

Thank you, Teloka, for participating in this interview and this project. It’s very much appreciated.

anonymous asked:

can I please have a Shouto scenario where he wants to impress his s/o by being more "romantic", but he doesn't really understand how, so he tries asking Izuku, but then ends up getting more help than he hoped for. Anyway, long story short, he goes up to his s/o and gives her a super cheesy and common pick up line or something? That would be fun to read ;D

first scenario y’all, & thank you so much for the lovely request anon, I had fun writing it!♡

Todoroki Shouto

Shouto had never doubted himself whenever he was with you. It was a little difficult to explain, but he knew clearly that whenever you were around, he felt more at ease. Comfortable, even. You constantly made him feel loved and showered him with attention throughout your relationship with the dual hair-coloured boy.

But somehow, that was starting to become a problem to him. It had gotten himself stuck in an unreal predicament, and it began pestering him even more and more lately. It just all dawned on him that you were the one doing all of those nice things to him, while he was just shamelessly accepting your love without giving much in return.

He was never the romantic type to begin with, and he knew that you were okay with that. And yet he couldn’t help but feel guilty for not having directly shown the amount of affection he felt for you. He felt downright horrible, and had even started avoiding you until he could figure out a more rational course of action.

Both his time and choices were running thin, and it was coming to a point where he was desperate for help. There was only one person that came to mind if it was about solving this particular issue.

“C-could you please repeat that, Todoroki-kun?” The green-haired boy furrowed his brows, taken aback by the sudden question. Shouto didn’t seem bothered though, so he asked again.

“What can I do to be romantic?”

Izuku gulped, and was desperately trying to find a way to avoid having to answer the odd inquiry. Luckily for him, he noticed both Iida and Ochako heading towards him. He let out a sigh of relief.

“Hey, you two wanna come sit with us?” She offered with a smile. Izuku nodded his head nervously, glancing over to Shouto, who still seemed to be troubled but didn’t refrain from coming along.

The four of them sat across the table, where Iida began consume his meal and Ochako was about to strike a conversation. Izuku looked at Shouto again, and somehow, the boy managed to look even more serious with his intentions.

“Can I please ask for some advice?” The question was directed towards both of his new company. Shouto didn’t want to waste any more time with his journey on finding a legitimate answer. It no longer mattered who he had to ask. As long as they could offer a reliable response, it was fine.

“What is it, Todoroki-kun?” Ochako casually said as she took another bite of her food. Iida on the other hand, seemed more determined to help their friend, and Shouto wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing.

“Could you please tell me what I have to do to be romantic?”

Ochako nearly choked on her food, but tried her best to put on her largest grin so that she wouldn’t offend him. Iida’s reaction was basically a gasp, but even Ochako wasn’t sure what kind of sound had just escaped his lips. Izuku could only sigh as he hid his face in his hands.

“Right, we must help our fellow friend in need!” Iida was the first to have a say in the subject. He really did seem genuinely determined, and the others appreciated his efforts.

“Then what should I do?” Shouto asked, feeling just a little overwhelmed.

“Well, Todoroki-kun, my brother once told me that girls are usually drawn to confidence, you see.” Iida began, making odd gestures with his hands as he spoke. Shouto took his words to heart.

“Confidence?” He repeated, despite not being so sure.

“Yes, indeed! Don’t you agree, Uraraka?” He turned to the said girl, who could only squeak at the mention of her name. She fumbled around with her words at first, but finally managed to muster up what was a proper sentence.“Just don’t be a jerk, and you’re all good.”

“Hmm, I see.” Shouto drowned himself in his thoughts again. He knew that just being nice to you wouldn’t be enough, he had to go out of his way and do something bold. But what could he possibly do?

“Love problems, huh?” A head suddenly popped up from behind their table. It was Denki, who had apparently caught up on their little shenanigans, and didn’t mind coming off as an eavesdropper. Nobody could blame him though, his table was right next to theirs, and considering how loud they were talking, it wasn’t easy to just ignore the chance to join in. “That’s easy, dude. Just tell (y/n) a pick-up line and she would probably swoon.”

Shouto raised a brow. “A pick-up line?”

“Yeah, like something sweet but also clever. Girls love that stuff.”

The poor boy was genuinely confused, and had to endure a small debate that had accumulated between his friends over such a short span of time. They began tossing opinions back and forth between eachother, trying to find the most suitable pick-up line for Shouto to use. He sighed, deciding his plan had backfired, and just maybe, that his friends were just as hopeless as he was when it came to these sort of things.

After a while, a few votes were counted, and everyone finally agreed on a pick-up line. They repeated the sentence for the third time now, and yet Shouto still didn’t get it. It was a little frustrating for everyone involved.

“I… Don’t understand …” He confessed, causing a series of groans to errupt. “Why can’t I just directly tell her that she’s beautiful, then?”

“Because–!” Ochako was just about to offer the most rational excuse she could think of, but she just sighed when she realized it was futile. It wasn’t like she expected Shouto to understand this time around. She was still thankful when Izuku covered for her though.

“Todoroki-kun… I think what she’s trying to say is that… You should just trust us on this one. It could work, I mean,” Izuku scratched his head nervously. Frankly, he wasn’t sure himself whether it was even a good idea to begin with.

Shouto didn’t reply for a moment, and when he did, it was just a nod. Everyone exchanged glances, attempting to decode whether the boy had agreed or turned down their idea. They immideately got an answer. “I’ll try my best, thank you.”

There was still a small amount of lunchtime left, but Shouto had decided that he would use it wisely. He finally got back to the class, where he assumed to find you. He was right. There you were, sitting all alone in the practically empty classroom, staring at a book that you didn’t even seem interested in. He could tell because you had a frown etched on your face, and you looked like you were thinking about something unpleasant. He, of course, hoped that despite whatever was troubling you, he could still make you feel somewhat better. Even if this really was a stupid idea.

The moment he stepped in, you snapped your head in his direction. You were just about to smile at him, but refrained, and turned back to your book. This upset him a little, especially because he didn’t know if he had done something wrong to have earned the silent treatment from you.

He didn’t say anything, until he took the risky chance to sit beside you. Still, you didn’t say a single word, almost as if he wasn’t there.

You turned to him with the same frown on your face, waiting for him to go on.

“Did I do something wrong?” Now he seemed nearly as equally upset as you were. You closed the book you were holding and finally fully averted your attention towards the concerned boy.

“I could say the exact same thing. You’ve been avoiding me all day.” You whined, looking down onto your lap out of shame. You didn’t neccesarily enjoy acting all spoiled like this or pleading for his attention, but you felt particularly gloomy today and all you wanted was to talk to him and melt your terrible mood away. But the moment you stepped into class that morning, the first thing he did was walk away before you even had the chance to so much as say hi. And when you wanted to try again during lunchtime, he did the same thing. You even noticed him sit with Izuku and his friends, and you couldn’t help but admit that you felt a tad bit jealous. Sure, your boyfriend had his days when he didn’t feel like talking to anyone except you, but today was the complete opposite, and that striked you as odd.

“I’m sorry, (y/n). I didn’t mean to.” He said, leaning in for a hug that you gladly accepted. You burried your face in his chest, taking in his scent that you had grown to adore.

“At least tell me if you don’t feel like talking to me next time.” You absentmindedly began tracing circles on his chest. It was something he had never admitted out loud, but he always adored you when you did that.

“I’m sorry,” He apologized again. “It’s a long story, I promise I’ll explain later.”

You let him be, and indulged in the time you had left to stay curled up in his embrace. This was exactly what you needed all day, and you were beyond pleased to have finally gotten it.

Shouto on the other hand, was a little nervous with what he had initially planned on doing. Now or never, he assured himself, taking a deep breath before he began.

“Hey, (y/n)?”

You hummed back.

“Did it hurt?”

“What?” It felt like a strange question, so you looked up at him with one of your brows raised. “That’s not funny. I was seriously upset, you jerk.”

“No, I meant… When you fell down from heaven.”

Silence. Very brief and awkward silence. Then you laughed so hard you thought for sure you’d pop a lung. Shouto was so confused you had nearly pitied him, but you were too busy wiping the tears from the corner of your eye.

It took a while for you to regain your composure, and then you looked at him with a warm smile.

“I’m sorry, Shouto. That was sweet.” You gave him a peck on his cheek, causing him to freeze out of surprise. A blush adorned his face. “But I think that explains your strange behaviour today.”

A small pout made its way onto his features. You giggled, giving him another peck on the cheek. Gosh you had to stop before this poor boy turns into the shade of a tomato.

Finally Finished watching the Kill La Kill Blu-Ray’s 😋

* it’s great to finally own my favourite anime
* kinda bummed that “All the anime” split a 24 episode plus 1 OVA series over 3 separate boxes
* cost about £65 for the whole series
* though it’s worse for Americans I believe, 5 separate purchases all together
* the English dub was superb, really gave me a sense of genuine fun and some really touching moments
* really is amazingly animated
* story is simple but I personally think that it plays to the shows strength
* it’s great to see shows with strong females leads
* the nudity can make it a difficult sale for some but personally I was raised to never shame the naked body no matter what size, shape or colour
* phenomenal soundtrack
* genuinely made you have emotions for a sailor uniform
*Great villains ( seriously we need more sensual badass Ragyo’s)
* from the people who brought you Gurran Lagann, panty and stocking with garter belt & would go on to make little witch Academia
* has the blessing/curse of being one of the “super” popular anime of its airing season, leading to inevitable ultra hype that no show can really live up to/bashing that it’s popular trash
* it’s my personal favourite anime, because it reintroduced me to anime in general after a long break from the medium & it the first I ever watched as it was airing from beginning to end

* ANIMATION 9/10 (a beautiful mix of styles and gorgeous imagery)
* STORY 7/10 (simple but it allows a great mix of action and comedy)
* CHARACTERS 10/10 ( an insane mix of personalities that I will remember and love for all my days)

OVERALL 9/10 not perfect but very few shows are, definitely gets a recommendation from me as a must watch/definitely buy

Colour Soulmate AU - Jughead X OC / Part 2

[LONG A/N: You guys asked for it so you guys got it, I don’t love it as much as the first part but this is as good as its gonna get cause I’ve wrote it and rewrote and then rewrote it again and then went to the SBC and asked them all about it (thanks @kingpendleton u my boo). So without further ado, here ya go bbs.

Also sorry if you wanted to be tagged in this but didn’t, I had a lot of people requesting to be tagged and now because tags aren’t really working well plus the amount of you asking is just a super crazy amount I’m going to stop adding new people to the list - honestly I totally appreciate and love your guys support but I feel like its a bit pointless when I know tagging isn’t directing anyone to my work and you’ve still just got to scroll through my blog to get to the specific fic. In light of this though I am going to seriously update my masterlist so finding my work shouldn’t be difficult and I will reblog it daily so people can stay up to date!]

‘Let go of my shoulder Arch.’ Jughead replied sternly. ‘This is something that isn’t up for discussion.’

here’s a quick collection of assorted outfits I associate with the boys. I have been kind of obsessively curating male clothing for like the past year, because I just do that.

  • Alan’s always had a sort of casually preppy thing going on, in my head. I tend to write/cast him a little older mentally than he probably actually is, and I tend to dress him as though he’s angling towards looking at least a little like a grown-up. also I like to give him hats. little slouchy beanie things.
  • Gordon’s all nautical stripes and bright colours and floral prints, but also a lot of beachy white and and visible skin. I think he’s also 100% the sort of person who would own and wear a velvet jacket. Gordon + brightly coloured shoes is also one of my favourite things. This is in stark contrast to Nonsense!Gordon, who basically dresses entirely in black at all times.
  • Virgil is my secret fave. Virgil’s all canvas and denim and worn leather, with occasional woolen sweaters and soft cotton henleys, to serve as reminders that he is Large but also he is a Gentle Soft Boy. I always end up envisioning Virgil with tattoos and piercings and a sort of lumberjack emopunk vibe. No idea why. He snuck a few florals in there too, the sweetheart.
  • John is actually super difficult for me, because Heavenward!John’s sensibilities have bled all over the way I imagine him in canon. In short, though, his clothing tends to be very cleanly cut and he dresses very neatly. hwd’s influence bleeds through when I end up adding those sorts of vaguely cyberpunk elements, high collars and doubled up layers and that kinda thing. the nerd. i also dress him almost exclusively in grey. in heavenward it’s because of the questionable morality of his actions. otherwise, not sure why.
  • Scott in my head is always a blend of suits + bomber jackets + aviators + hot farmer’s market dad aesthetic. The latter is hard to pull through, but I feel like in casual settings, entirely accidentally, Scott ends up dressing like the sort of well-to-do suburban dad who owns a minivan and buys fresh heirloom kale and free range eggs every Saturday. Little bit of floral print for Scooter, too.

okay folks time for renison for the ask meme (part two of anon’s request) let’s dive in

who is more likely to hurt the other?

i wanna say that they’ve transcended hurt and experience only love and peace for the rest of their lives but unfortunately…. allison…. is a bitch bless her

basically I think allison can be harsh when she’s upset and she tries to make sure that shit never touches renee but sometimes it does and she likes it when she can upset ppl bc it makes her feel strong again? but she also can’t stand renee hurting so it’s this constant discord. (but also renee pulls away so much to protect people and it hurts allison to see her go, sometimes.)

who is emotionally stronger?

they’re both absolute warriors lemme tell you. remember when allison’s boyfriend died and she pulled her hair back and got to fucking work?? remember when renee’s life was a vicious cycle of abuse and she took up a bible and started smacking ppl around with it?? BOTH of them could be sifting through their emotional baggage at 5 and kicking ass at 5:30 tbh

who is physically stronger?

renee,,,,, could kill you with her hands tied behind her back

she spars and LIFTS she is gentle and small and she has a six pack and she carries her gf to bed

who is more likely to break a bone?

I can’t imagine anything getting the best of renee even like.. the ground… but also allison walks in towering heels 24/7 and has yet to bust her ass so maybe they’re both superhuman?? I feel like maybe renee would take things too far and break a pinky when she’s scrapping with andrew and probably dead-faced set her own finger and leave every fox……. shaken

who knows best what to say to upset the other?

Allison can rip out every follicle of your hair if she’s in the mood, she’s neil with crystal earrings, just bc her mouth is all perfectly applicated peaches & cream doesn’t mean it’s not filthy

she never uses renee’s past against her though. never.

who is most likely to apologize first after an argument?

I think renee is a LOT more willing to admit when she’s in the wrong, and her life is pretty much a balance of redemption and honesty so I think she apologizes very earnestly and seriously and allison basically snorts and tells her it’s forgotten and goes in for neck kisses

allison is a liiiittle too proud to apologize but when she knows she’s done BAD and when they’re alone & intimate in their apartment allison will come in crying and bare-faced and apologize and apologize and apologize

who treats who’s wounds more often?

renee is scrappy and allison hates it but she’ll sit down for hours making sure every bit of renee is seen to, and she’ll neatly cover up renee’s bruises like she did for neil, quiet and sweet and methodical like she rarely is

who is in constant need of comfort?

yikes it’s always both w our foxes man

I think allison’s loss is such a fresh wound in her mind and it’s so constant. She still feels so brutally undervalued for her talent and her ingenuity and her strength, and like. that gets bad. Renee’s loss runs deeper and harder and she can’t even think about it, most of the time. She’s making constant amends, but no matter how many times she prays before bed the nightmares still come. (so does allison, lighting sweet smelling candles and brushing renee’s hair back and kissing her face)

who gets more jealous?

TOUGH bc I think renee projects this very ‘i’ve transcended human emotions and am an eternal sweetie with clothes knit from bible verses’ but she’s still very human and her girlfriend is very very hot and if one more man touches allison without her permission renee will take his hand off :))

who’s most likely to walk out on the other?

okay… neither..

who will propose?

I think allison would and I think she would spend 1 million dollars trying to make it unforgettable even though they could be collapsed on the court after a game and renee would say yes? they could be in bed or walking with their arms linked or having their weekly chinese food with dan and matt and renee would always say yes

(she proposes when they’re on vacation, at some european cathedral with streaming stained glass so renee can feel as close to god as allison feels to renee, and every pew is filled with a different colour of flower and a choir sings something ancient and sapphic ok bye)

who has the most difficult parents?

who initiates hand-holding when they’re out in public?

it’s pretty equal on the PDA front they’re very affectionate ppl

like I imagine Allison w her hands in the pockets of her designer bomber jacket and renee slipping her hand in too and smiling like fucking summer just rolled in early and hung up its coat

who comes up for the other all the time?

you know that post where allison calls renee ‘exy’s cutest goalkeeper’?? yeah.. picture that…. all the time

who hogs the blankets?

you’d think allison bc she enjoys the height of luxury at All Times but it’s renee actually she nests it’s what she does

I think bc she’s so comfortable that she subconsciously lets herself take more than her fair share

who gets more sad?

allison is more outwardly sad, and it manifests itself in a shade that’s almost angry, almost nothing at all

she hates that she never got to see what seth could have been and she hates that her parents don’t love her and she hates the sight of her own face sometimes

renee doesn’t let the darkness in but when she does she spirals, hard, and she can’t even feel worthy of the cross she wears or the friends she keeps

who is better at cheering the other up?

allison is such a whirlwind that she can crush sadness under her stilettos tbh like if renee can’t quite get her serene mask tied at the back allison will come in with truckloads of food and a brand fuckin new rhinestone cross (it was the early 2000′s… leave them be) and Dan in tow, and they talk around renee until she feels herself enough to pay attention and actually… smile a real smile

renee is a soother and she knows how to fight bad moods off, so she can calm people down, but allison can pump them up

who’s the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes?

i feel like renee is more likely to just look very wryly and fondly at allison if she says something ridiculous, but allison would be more of a slapper

who is more streetwise?

LMAO uh renee. next

who is more wise?

renee has that kind of all-knowing aura about her like I bet she knows the weirdest shit. Allison is smart in a very straightforward, brisk, I know how to fix this or work this out way, but renee just. knows things

who’s the shyest?

also hilarious allison will stare a stranger down until they cower and die and renee is the most soft-spoken kiddo on earth

like it’s more of a self-imposed restraint than shyness but the fact remains that allison is an extrovertTM and renee is always going to look calm next to her

who boasts about the other more?

allison thinks renee is the best thing that’s ever happened and she will show renee off the same way she shows off her wealth tbh bc renee is PRECIOUS to her anyway

who sits on who’s lap?

renee sits in allison’s for height reasons, and bc allison buries her face in her hair and calls her baby when she does and it’s this whole spectacle

Umm hello! I was wondering if you could make some prompts for my character and her boyfriend she's mute and can control plants and he has super speed thanks :3

He learned to read a language in her plants. The bloom of sunflowers in her happiness, blossoming uncontrollably in the corners of the room when they came together. The browning of petals in her sorrow, the withering of living things in her rage as if the whole world could decay in the winters of her heart. Everything seemed to spring to colour around her so who needed words?

He found it difficult to hold still. A whirlwind of movement, fidgeting, playing with her hair, kissing her fingers, buzzing manic around the room because to someone like him the world seemed unbearably slow. Always needing to be doing something. It was all she could do to keep up - always fearing that one day, she would be left behind, and unable to call out he wouldn’t even know until she was a memory on the horizons on his life. And yet, like the earth spinning the sun at a thousand miles an hour, she remained the centre of his world to always return to.

Even with all the speed in the world, he couldn’t stop the enemy from taking her for her powers. She would save the world they said, bring back life from the dust and the rubble of the apocalypse, whether she liked it or not. They didn’t care if she would burn herself out doing it. But he did.

Hi! I've been on a huge dice kick lately and was wondering, do you have a fav set of dice? Whether its by looks or maybe its your "lucky" set?

This is SUCH a difficult question! I can’t choose so I’m gonna list my top three:

TDSO Metal Polished Dice - they are shiny and heavy and pointy, so they feel very satisfying to roll

Gamescience Precision Series - they look like gems!! And the opaque versions come in super unique colours that I haven’t seen elsewhere

Koplow Opaque Rainbow Set - they’re just cute and simple, easy to read and colourful!

I also love anything with swirls of dye or glitter inside, they are wonderfully mesmerising, but there are too many variations of those to count here :)

Hi Emma! I have this problem that my notes are super messy and it gets difficult to study with them. But when I try to organize them it takes me too much and I don't even know where to start. Also, it really demotivates me that I can't make them pretty

Hi! I think sometimes the “pretty” we see on Tumblr isn’t what your average student can do or have time for. I love the artistic and creative talent that goes into some of the notes I see but I couldn’t even begin to create my own version.  If you’ve seen my notes, I just try to make them neat and colourful rather than pretty with super cool calligraphy or doodles. A few suggestions would either be:

  • type up your notes either in the first place or as study notes - that way you can easily organise and edit. They’ll be super clear and easy to read. I always type up study notes using OneNote and will then print them off once they’ve complete.
  • make the effort to take notes slower and ‘neatify’ them - this could just involve changing your note-taking structure. I’m not sure exactly what you mean by ‘messy’ but maybe having a set layout that you follow will help. Here is my note-taking layout. But otherwise you could try the cornell method!
  • improve your organisation method - again, I’m not totally sure what you find difficult about organising your notes but maybe try to have a binder per subject. Use dividers to separate each topic and a plastic sleeve per class. Remember to always add the date to your notes as well. Maybe having a curriculum/syllabus to order your notes against would be useful.
  • use a single notebook - for me I like having one notebook with dividers per subject. That way it is all in the same place and pre-organised.

Try to think about practicality over prettiness! Hope that helps :-) xx

Meet Benny the Faun! (S) 14/11/17

Benny is a 19 year old Faun that stands at about 5’4” tall. He has poofy chocolate brown hair “styled” in a mess of curls that make wearing a hat difficult, his hair colour matches the shade of fur his legs. He’s fair skinned and a bit on the thinner side with soft freckles dotting his face. His cheeks are slightly chubby and his eyes are a lovely deep shade of blue. They crinkle in the corners when he smiles. Benny is always seen wearing a t-shirt or goofy sweater, depending on the weather. He’s not a fan of showing much skin, and usually only his arms will be exposed.

Benny is the sweet, nerdy type who is super interested in pop culture. He loves star wars, doctor who, and the X-Files as well as aliens in general. In fact, his favourite t-shirt has a little alien face right in the middle.

He’s a super upbeat and positive kind of guy, choosing to support his loved ones in almost all of their endeavours, no matter how “out there” they may seem. Benny is a pretty big fan of physical contact and will often do things like casually lean against you or interlock your arm with his while walking.

He’d really love to have a close relationship with his companion, and be there for them whenever they need someone. He wants to be “best buddies through thick and thin”.

Beginner friendly?

Very much so

Aliens, pumpkin pie, comic books, succulents and video games.

Swimming, showing skin, confined spaces, pushy people, potatoes (unless served mashed and with garlic) and gore.

some thoughts on th16 so far

  • Really unique stage patterns. Miserable to play, but lots of variety in the misery
  • Backgrounds are gorgeous as usual
  • nice stage themes all around
  • Aunn!!!!!!
  • Both of Okina’s themes
  • New magician!!! and she’s in the forest of magic!!! +1 to Marisa’s harem
    • actually remember back in IN when Marisa accused Alice of putting funny hats on statues?
    • Eiki’s last name literally means four seasons and she also used to be a jizo statue. this is probably a deliberate joke.
  • Okina’s going to be a really interesting character in the print works
    • another sage!!! yay!!!
    • yukari doesn’t have to solely bear responsibility for Gensokyo anymore
    • Okina is the goddest god to ever god…Yukari is the youkai-est youkai to ever youkai
    • she also delegates her menial tasks to two servants
    • they already know each other, and Okina’s defeated by boundary hacks
    • Okina x Yukari is going to happen mark my words
    • maybe Yukari will get to be relevant again ;v;

not so great:

  • Spellcard colours are bland. Stages 5 through EX of LoLK also had the same problem
  • Boss themes are less melodic than in previous games. They’re not as catchy and sound more like stage themes
  • Eternity’s theme sounds like it came from a bad fangame
  • Satono+Mai and Okina’s spell cards are difficult but kind of visually underwhelming
  • Okina is literally just a badly recoloured Junko
  • Okina profile makes her sound like a deviantart OC…she’s secretly god of everything, helped make Gensokyo, and just wants to show off to everyone
  • Okina’s supposed to be super powerful and stuff, which makes her bland patterns even more disappointing. Compare her to Yukari, and yeah…

[opening image description: three fluffy plush macaron biscuits with chocolate brown filling sitting on a white paper doily on a brown woodgrain table. A pink ribbon loop sticks out of the back of the white macaron plush. The macarons are arranged in a pyramid, with yellow and tan biscuits on the bottom and a cream-white biscuit sitting atop both. Text, outlined in white and written in script and plain sans-serif type, beside the biscuits reads “DIY No Sew Macaron Plush”. White text in the viewer’s top left-hand corner reads “Easy”.]

Video Tutorial - No Sew Macaron Plush, Maqaroon

This is a tutorial for a no-sew mini macaron plush with a ribbon loop, meaning it can be easily attached to a zipper pull or keychain, making it an extremely portable tactile stim. I like this tutorial as it doesn’t require hot glue or a glue gun, making it more accessible for most of us!

You can also replace the stuffing for plastic/poly pellets, rice, aquarium gravel or dried beans/lentils if prefer your plush to be weighted.

  • Fluffy socks
  • Cup and pen/pencil
  • Scissors
  • PVA/white craft glue
  • Stuffing/cotton wool/polyfill
  • Ribbon

Many clothing items targeted at women (anything that is displayed on a hanger in store) have ribbon loops designed to hold the garment on the hanger. I cut these out along with the devil tags, but I save them for craft projects like this one, as you only need a small piece of ribbon. Craft and department stores are also starting to stock cheap spools of Christmas-coloured ribbon in the lead-up to the holidays, and the plain reds, greens and whites are great for this sort of project.

These sorts of fluffy socks are super common in dollar shops, or you can try eBay ($1.10 USD each with free international shipping).

Video has no voice over, so while I find the background music quite irritating, it can be watched on mute. For this reason, though, it will be difficult or inaccessible for people who struggle with visual processing or have vision disabilities.

Hi Emma. I have to give a memorized oration in a week about something I'm passionate about. But I'm terrified beyond what is normal. How can I get over my anxiety?? Another question is: Would it be bad to talk about myself? I just want ppl to understand me, but Ive led a boring life.. Please help, I don't know what to do... And I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience. <3

Hi! I think being passionate about the topic is a great start. Since you clearly know about the topic and are going to have a clear opinion, it will be much easier for you I think. Here are a couple of things you can try:

  • be super prepared - the more prepared you are the more confidence you should have! If you’re able to memorise your speech, your chance of making mistakes will hopefully be minimised! Like I said, since you’re passionate about the topic you might find it alot more comfortable to discuss.
  • try to settle any nerves - speeches are sometimes really scary. For me, I’ve always struggled. But it is important to remember that no one (besides your teacher) really cares. Everyone is just doing it because they have too. They’re probably too busy on their phones or thinking about their own speech to be really listening to yours. If you make a mistake, take a breath and continue. Perhaps try listening to music before your class!
  • use a powerpoint - if you can this is a great way to take the eyes off you and focus them elsewhere!
  • change the colour of the font every four lines - I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was a clever idea. It can keep you on the right line so you don’t reread something or lose your place.
  • take deep breaths - remember to breathe deeply and slowly. If you’re beginning to feel nervous, inhale for three seconds and exhale for three.
  • try to speak slow - it can be super difficult when you’re nervous but that is what is going to trip you up. Take it slow and steady.
  • remember that whilst people are wanting you to succeed they probably aren’t paying much attention - speeches are generally a free class. Most people zone out and aren’t really fully listening. Once I swore by accident in a speech and the only person that noticed was the teacher. Luckily he laughed, but no one else was even listening.
  • pick a spot on the floor and try to stick around there - try not to be too rigid! Move round slightly and look up towards the back of the room every now and then. If you’re looking confident, you will probably be awarded a few extra points. Remember “fake it till you make it!”
  • finish strongly - try to avoid standing there at the end and whispering “I’m done”. Say thank you and sit back down! Be strong! Remember once you walk away, most people will forget your speech!

Hopefully this helps! x

To take a break from colour palette drawings I’ve been doodiling, which ended up as a finished drawing - and also the fact his hair is still difficult to draw !
