I finally had the inspiration to write something for Loki and it turned out to be smut. Maybe there will be a part 2 (more Loki smut!), but I am not sure yet. Let me know what you think please, because I really struggle writing for him.

The music in the club in Germany is loud and Y/N is just sitting at the bar drinking a glass of red wine while her friends are out somewhere on the dancefloor.

She isn’t really a fan of clubs like this but her friends are and she doesn’t want to be alone tonight so she went with them only now she is alone at the club’s bar.

She turns around and tries to spot her friends only it is to dark inside so she can’t see anything. With a sign, she turns back around to the bar only to bump with her knee to the knee of the man who just sat next to her.

‘Sorry’ she mumbles before taking a sip of her drink and looking at the glass nothing paying any attention to the guy next to her.

Hot Crossed Realities~ Chapter One

Summary: One of Brainstorm’s experiments goes on the fritz, with an unexpected consequence. Pulled into another universe, two women have to learn to live alongside their favorite characters on the Lost Light … and all the danger that comes with it.

The musical chime of the doorbell filled her ears as Fay looked up from her comic book, a knowing smile on her face as she set it to the side and hurried over to the door. Her smile grew into a full blown grin the moment she opened it to reveal her visitor and said, “Hey, JJ!”

“Hey girl!” As soon as the door was open, Jay threw her arms around her friend, pulling her in for a tight hug that might have been a bit too hard in her excitement. She let go with a pat on the arm before moving past Fay into the apartment behind her.

Knowing her friend’s place by heart at this point, she dumped her bag full of stuff on the ground by the couch before plopping down on it with ease. Her eyes landed on the comic face down on the couch as she quickly picked it up, flipping through the pages with a smile on her face.

“Starting over from the beginning huh?” she commented. “It’s been a little while since I’ve read this, I forgot some of the smaller details.” She pointed to a particular page, a character long since dead where she was in the comic yet was still very much alive at that point. She hated when characters had to die…especially her favorites!

“Yeah. Sometimes it’s just nice to go back and see all the things I missed then.” Fay settled into the seat next to her friend and pulled another comic over.

“Rung still your favorite~?” She stated more than asked as she teased Fay, already knowing the answer but enjoying the reaction it brought forth from the blonde woman.

“Pfft…of course!” Came the amused retort, a sly smirk on her face as she waggled her eyebrows.

Jay laughed a bit at Fay’s answer, throwing a hand dramatically over her forehead in response.

“Maybe one day, you’ll finally get together and have a bunch of techno organic babies. Keep on dreaming Fay!” She fell back onto her friend’s lap with a dramatic flop, beaming up at the woman with a ridiculous mix of pride and sarcasm.

Smirking down at her comrade’s antics, Fay chuckled and said, “Oh yeah, just like Rodimus will come whisk you away for a romantic drive across the cosmos.”

Jay put a hand to her chest with playful shock, “It could happen! You never know!”

She was going to say something else–probably more teasing–but her train of thought was cut off by a sudden boom in the distance, the sheer volume startling the two. She jumped a bit before she sat up and moved to check out the window, her curiosity piqued as she scanned the evening sky. There hadn’t even been a cloud on her way over and it didn’t look like it would rain…but then again, Florida weather was known for being a bit finicky and unpredictable.

“That’s strange. The weather map said there wouldn’t be any rain until tomorrow night,” Fay uttered in confusion, peering out the window as well. The sky was thick with heavy rainclouds, but instead of the typical dark gray or near black the clouds were a strange mix of purple, red, and green. Yet not a single drop of moisture fell from the sky, leaving a sense of unease to settle over them at the sight.

“I know I’m not a meteorologist, but I’m pretty sure those aren’t normal cloud colors for this area. Or any area really.”

Jay nodded her head in agreement and added, “Uh yeah, I’d say so. Maybe it’s just one of those freak weather things, you know what I’m talking about?” But even to her own ears she didn’t sound entirely convinced by that reasoning.

K-r-r-r-r-RACK! BWOOM!!

“Holy hell!” Fay yelped in shock when an earth-shattering thunderclap rattled the house around them, the ground seeming to lurch beneath them while glassware rattled in their place. A brilliant flash of red lightning illuminated the sky, painting the world in an ominous shade of crimson as arcs of electricity flickered in and out of sight.

The two shrieked when a stray bolt of lightning struck the nearby transformer, the power cutting off and plunging the two in darkness. “Jeez louise!” Fay uttered, her heart in her throat at the sight of the sparking power pole and how close that bolt had come to hitting the house. “That was way too close for comfort! Are you oka–?” The question died in her throat as a flicker of red light drew her eye to the television. The screen was dark at first, but another flicker of red electricity arched and danced over the surface before the screen came on. Images of strangely familiar faces were darting in and out of existence, too fast for the eye to make out as the two watched the screen with a mix of fear and awe. “J-Jay?” she started, watching the screen as the images blurred together, forming a swirling vortex of bright red and violet light.

“Y-yeah I’m seeing that too…” She watched with eyes full of panic as the very air seemed to ripple, heating up to uncomfortable levels as their skin tingled from the energy surrounding them. She could feel the rippling energy being pulled towards the television by an unseen force, and for a moment she swore that the swirling mass itself was alive.

She felt an invisible tug against her skin as the vortex picked up speed, the very force of the suction causing her maroon curls to wildly dance around her face and knocking smaller items away from their perches before pulling them into the TV. Gasping in shock, she tried to look to Fay for some kind–any kind–of reaction. But despite the light of the vortex illuminating the room like the sun, she could only make out her friend’s general shape, her face distorting and blurring whenever Jay tried to look directly at the woman. It was as though the colors from the TV itself were straining her eyes, making it impossible to distinguish one thing from another. It was all too surreal…was this really even happening?

Although her head ached and everything was spinning around them, she still managed to make some sense of the swirl of colors to notice and snatch her bag from the air just as it was being pulled towards the portal. She looped it over her arm to keep it from flying again and, as she turned back around, saw the Transformers comic flying towards Fay as she caught her own bag.

“Grab it!” she yelled, surprising herself at her own words. She wasn’t even sure why a replaceable comic was so important in that moment, but given the situation she wasn’t entirely thinking straight.

Fay instinctively reacted to the command and reached out, snagging the comic midair. “I got it!” She cried out over the rushing wind, stuffing the comic into her bag for safety and looping her arms through the straps. While their bags were safe, it soon became apparent that they were not as the pull grew stronger, forcing her to grab onto Jay’s hand and the couch. “Hang on!” she tried to shout, only for the howling wind to drown out her voice as she clung to the fabric.

Jay tightened her grip around Fay’s hand without hesitation, tears pricking the corner of her eyes from the sharp wind as fear gripped her heart like icy talons. With her free hand she tried to grab onto the couch as Fay had done, but the breath was torn from her lungs as the energy picked up. She barely managed to scrape the edge of the fabric before realizing that her feet were no longer in contact with the carpet, her body literally floating in the air towards the direction of the vortex. It was so strong she couldn’t even yell or open her eyes, just hold on to the only things she had in that moment; her bag and her friend.

She heard a scream, but whether it was from her or Fay she couldn’t tell, but it was clear that Fay was losing the battle to hang on, her teeth bared in determination as she struggled to pull Jay back towards the couch. With a strangled cry, her hand slipped from their anchor and they were both wrenched back into the swirling mass of red and violet.

There was a tingle against their skin as they passed through the vortex, their world a twisting mix of light and kaleidoscopic colors as they tumbled through the tunnel. Fay grunted as she reached out and clung to her friend, fear and desperation pumping through her veins. “J-Jay!” It was difficult to speak–let alone breathe–and there seemed to be no end in sight as they rolled head over heels down the endless vortex. Her aching fingers began to lose their vice-like grip on Jay’s arms, the powerful energy pulling them apart. “Jay! Don’t let go!”

Though she couldn’t see through the rushing whirlwind she heard her name clear as a bell and latched onto the arms clamped down on her own, but something was shaking–was it her? She couldn’t tell as the pressure forced their grip to slip, leaving only their hands connected. At that point all she could do was desperately try to keep the hands in hers, holding on for dear life.

One second they were there, the next her hands were empty. Before she could react, she heard a distinct ‘pop!’ before she found herself hitting solid ground and bouncing, rolling and tumbling head over heels out of control. Seconds later her body collided with something solid, the impact enough to force the air out of her lungs with a great ‘whoosh!’ as she lay there with her back pressed against the cold floor and her legs propped up against it. She hadn’t thought that she had any breath left in her after that, but apparently life continued to surprise her.

Fay hadn’t fared any better, her lighter frame flying through the air before bouncing and rolling. With a winded ‘Whoof!!’ she slammed into something hard and warm, her body lying flat against…whatever she’d just landed on as she struggled to breathe again. When she was finally able to get enough air in her lungs, she forced herself to lift her head–what exactly was she staring at? Something red and black?–and wheezed as she called out, “Ooough…Jay? You okay?”

Why did everything hurt so much?

Jay managed a low, drawn out groan, eyes still squeezed tightly shut as she took a moment to make sure nothing felt broken on her body. Feeling that her body was still in one piece, she said, “Yeah, barely…but I think I might have hit something made out of metal…”

You did.

There was a pause after that confirmation as it slowly began to dawn on Jay that those words hadn’t been spoken by a voice she recognized. Her eyes snapped open, dread settling over her when she didn’t recognize the white tiled ceiling above her or the … what was it? It was some sort of metal thing, though what exactly it was she couldn’t even tell from the angle she’d landed in.

It only took another second for her to follow the metal object up, up, up and up until she was staring into very foreign yet somehow familiar golden orbs. Except they weren’t even really eyes per se but … her mind instantly drew forth the word ‘optics,’ and in that moment everything snapped into place. With a choked half scream she quickly flung herself to the side, rolling and scrambling over to an equally startled Fay as she scrambled off the other foot, the two instinctively backing away from the supposed danger. With that distance, now the women could get a better grasp of just how HUGE they were, towering over Jay and Fay like giant metal monsters. Giant metal monsters they knew. Giant metal monsters they loved!

That’s when they both started screaming.

“Whoa!” The first behemoth with golden eyes yelped, the name ‘Brainstorm’ instantly springing to mind as he crouched down to their level. “H-Hey, hey! It’s–It’s okay! It’s okay! We’re not gonna hurt ya! Please stop screaming.” He glanced up at the other red, black and white mech– ‘Perceptor!’ their minds screamed at once–and said, “Help me out here!”

It took a good minute or so for the two to calm down, much to Brainstorm’s relief, but instead both were now staring at him with wide eyes and slack jaws. He was tempted to wave his hand near their face to see if that would snap them out of it, but didn’t want them to freak out again; his audials were still aching from earlier. As he stood to his full height, he glanced back at the experimental ground bridge and frowned when he realized it had broken shortly after the arrival of the humans. It was supposed to be a simple test run to see if they could get it functioning to make supply runs easier to obtain for the lost light, but instead he’d gotten … tiny creatures full of panic.

Well, that just means he’ll have more chances to conduct experiments later to figure out what went wrong, and if there’s one thing he loves, it’s experiments! He turned to Percy, making optic contact with the bot who was just as confused as him, surprised to note just a touch of intrigue in those normally cold optics. Maybe not all was lost then! And besides, neither of them had ever had a chance to interact with humans before …

But just as he was considering asking Percy if they could keep the humans, the sound of heavy stomps could be heard just outside their lab before Ultra Magnus practically charged inside. “What’s going on he–?!” His demand was cut off when the humans began screaming again, leaving him staring at the two in shock and disbelief before he rounded a dark glare at the two scientists. “Why are there HUMANS here?” The co-captain all but roared, though it seemed as though he was simultaneously trying to shush the humans in what Brainstorm guessed was his attempt at being non threatening.

Thankfully the humans had stopped screaming shortly after Ultra Magnus’ arrival, though they still looked ready to bolt at any second. With a quick glance at the two females–or at least he assumed they were female–he gestured towards the now decommissioned machine and said, “We were attempting to do a test run with the space bridge before presenting it to the crew when something caused the computers to go on the fritz. I tried to shut it off, but before I could do anything, these two–” he pointed at the humans huddled together, “–came flying out!” He paused for a moment before he added, “On the bright side, at least we know it’s safe for living matter to pass through!”

As far fetched and somewhat morbid as the explanation sounded, it was hard to argue with the proof literally staring up at them with wide, terrified eyes. Ultra Magnus looked between the humans and the space bridge for a moment before he turned his attention back to Brainstorm. “Is there any way to fix it and return them to Earth?”

Brainstorm raised a hand as though to respond, only to think better of it and lower his hand again. “As of right now? No,” he said, moving over to one of the computer systems and pulling off a panel to reveal the inner workings. Smoke drifted out of the opening, and there was a distinct smell of burning rubber and metal that filled the air. “The systems are fried to the Pit and the machine itself has started to melt the circuitry. It’ll take some time to get it up to snuff again, let alone functioning enough to bridge them back.”

It was quick, but Perceptor happened to glance down at the humans just as the dark-haired one shook her head at her companion, a universally clear ‘no’ gesture. He found it odd, but then again he didn’t quite know enough about humans to understand their social norms.

Upon hearing Brainstorm’s explanation and seeing the damage himself, Ultra Magnus sighed and ran a servo over his face, irritation and frustration causing his processor to ache. How did this ship always seem to attract the most bizarre situations and events? But as he glanced once more at the still shell shocked people on the ground, it was clear to him that there was no choice other than to keep them here until further notice. Dropping them off on a planet with a suitable environment, while possible, would be extremely unkind since he doubted they’d be able to adapt so easily. From what he knew of Earth, some humans still didn’t believe or even realize that aliens existed–a fact that was quite obvious given their terrified expressions.

If Verity had been here, she would have wanted him to accept them without hesitation.

“Fix the ground bridge as quickly as you can then,” he ordered. “But before that, I need the two of you to repurpose one of the empty habsuites to better accommodate the humans in the meantime.”

Seeing the excited sparkle in Brainstorm’s optics, he narrowed his own and held up a servo.

“That does not include any kind of weapons, Brainstorm. Their room needs to be safe, not a health hazard.” He turned back to the two humans and moved closer to them, towering over them before slowly kneeling as close to their eye level as he could get. “I know this is all a shock and you must be frightened, but rest assured that we mean you no harm. We are known as Cybertronians, and we are Autobots. You may call me Ultra Magnus, and I am terribly sorry for this incident, but for now we will do our best to return you to your planet.” He lowered his hand down so it was palm up and added, “If you will come with me, you will stay in my office until your habsuite is complete.”

At this point, despite how illogical it was that they were both experiencing the same dream, it was the only way Jay could wrap her head around the situation. Throwing a ‘what-the-hell’ look over her shoulder at Fay, she took a deep breath before climbing onto the offered hand. It was … strange to say the least. It was definitely different reading about the bots versus actually being here with them! She barely took up any space in his palm, and she was certain that he could easily engulf her in his fist and still have room to sit up. What surprised her the most, however, was just how warm he felt beneath her palm. No matter how many times she had wished to meet the characters of her favorite comic, nothing could have prepared her for this.

Glancing over her shoulder again, she noticed that Fay seemed to hesitate for a moment. She reached back to encourage Fay into climbing on, and despite her hesitation she latched onto the hand and allowed herself to be pulled up. The sudden shift of vertigo when he stood up left them gasping in surprise, the new height vantage bringing them almost eye-to-optic level with the other bots before he turned and left the lab.

The ride itself was not much better as he strode down the hallway, keeping his hand steady while the walls and floor passed them by in a blur with each step the massive mech took. Fay found herself eyeing one of the massive fingers, which dwarfed even the thickest oak trees. They already knew that he was a big mech when it came to the comics, but damn! In real life they might as well have been hamsters by comparison!

Strangely enough during the walk they didn’t see any of the other crew members, which was odd considering how many there were supposed to be on the ship. Ultra Magnus finally stopped at one of the many doors (how many had they passed by already?), keying in a code before the metal doors slid open to grant them entrance. Just as he stepped inside, something orange and white caught Fay’s eye before her view was cut off, leaving her little time to figure out just who exactly she’d seen as the door shut behind Magnus.

“I can’t believe it! I mean, I know we’ve had a lot of weird things going on lately but I seriously can’t believe it! Were those actual humans?”

To anyone that was listening they would have heard Swerve continue to babble excitedly as he carried a crate of Engex back to his bar, a wide grin on his face as he tried to recall what he had glimpsed. Two humans–two! Wow!–sitting in Ultra Magnus’ hand! Where did they come from? How did they get on the Lost Light from Earth? Did they come on their own ship? He didn’t think they were that small, but then again everyone seems smaller when it comes to mechs like Ultra Magnus!

Mechs looked up as he hurried in before returning to their drinks, and he slipped behind the bar where a familiar red and orange mech sat. “Hey, Rodimus! Sorry, I’ll be right with you, I had to do a restock run,” he greeted the other mech. “By the way, Ultra Magnus was heading into his office and you’ll never guess what I saw! He was carrying two humans with him! And they’re females I’m pretty sure? I know from all the Earth movies I’ve watched, I’ll have to show you sometime! I also knew humans were small but not that small, do you think that’s normal for them? Where do you suppose–?”

Pfft?!” He was interrupted by Energon splattering onto his face, Rodimus pounding his chest as he started coughing and hacking from his earlier spit-take.

“Wait, what? There are humans? Here?! Why didn’t Mags call me?!?” He shouted as he grabbed Swerve by the shoulders, making the mini bot wince in surprise and pain. Did he have to do that right in his audials??

Not waiting for any further explanation, Rodimus grabbed his glass and downed the remaining Energon in it before slamming it back on the bar and spinning himself off of the bar stool. “Wait, where are you going?” Swerve called as the flame-colored bot rushed towards the exit.

“Well I’m the Captain, aren’t I? I gotta go check it out and greet the humans!!” There was no way in hell he was going to miss this opportunity, he had to see if Swerve was correct and there were really humans on board. He had so many questions and activities he wanted to do with them … honestly he just needed to see them, because he had never seen humans before.

Dashing down the halls he put on the speed as he made his way through the ship, pushing past anyone he ran into with a “Move out of the way, official Captain business!” and swinging around corners before anyone knew what just happened. He slowed down when he finally got to Ultra Magnus’ office, remembering that Swerve had said that the big bot was bringing them here…if they truly existed. Swerve had been known to make up stories or prank others before after all, but on the off chance that there were humans…without any hesitation, he burst into the office, not even thinking about whether or not Ultra Magnus would appreciate it.

“Hey, Mags! I heard there were–!” He was cut off by the startled yelps of two small creatures still sitting in his co-captain’s hands. Ah-ha! They were real!! “So Swerve was right! Hello humans!” He greeted them with a wide grin, bending over to stick his face in theirs so he could get a better look at them. Jeez, they sure are small! Who knew?

“Rodimus!” Ultra Magnus snapped, shifting his hand away from the red and orange bot with a stern frown. “They’re already frightened enough as it is without you invading their personal space. Back off!”

Knowing he’d gone a little too far, Rodimus held up his hands in a placating gesture and straightened up again, but he didn’t move from his spot. With a wary look, Ultra Magnus lowered his hand again so that the captain could better see them once more. His grin seemed to widen even more than before as he waved at the two staring up at him and he said, “Hey, sorry ‘bout that. It’s just that I’ve never seen humans before. Oh, hey! I bet I’m the first Cybertronian ship to have humans on it! Ha, bet that’s something that not even Thunderclash has accomplished before.” He swelled with pride at that knowledge ,so smug at the thought of besting Thunderclash himself at something that he nearly missed their reactions to him.

One of them was looking at him with simple, normal curiosity, while the other had covered the bottom half of her face with her hands, as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. He blinked for a moment before he smirked and raised an optical ridge in amusement, unable to resist the pleased laugh when he noticed her face turn a bright shade of red in response to his attention.

“Hey I know I’m hot–,” he was tempted to show them his fire manipulating abilities but somehow managed to restrain himself as he gave a knowing smile, - “but I didn’t expect that kind of reaction from such a cute human.”

He winked to emphasize his point, and he could hear a distinct sound that resembled choking from the woman, but he didn’t have time to say anything else before Ultra Magnus interrupted him. “Rodimus,” he began with a huff, once more vexed by the other mech’s apparent lack of respect for common sense and decency, “just what do you think you’re doing? Bursting into my office like–like some kind of hooligan?!”

“Mags, I’m the Captain! It’s my job to greet our new visitors!” He paused for a moment when a thought occurred to him that brought another smile to his faceplates. “Oh I think I might even have some Rodimus stars left in my office! To make their stay here official of course.” He could already imagine all the awesome and amazing adventures to be had with humans on board!

Ultra Magnus didn’t reply, too busy setting down the humans on his desk so he could bury his head into his hands in frustration. While he was doing so, Rodimus rambled on to the three, something about introducing them to all the bots on the ship and oh hey, do they want to come see his office it’s awesome! Don’t you think it’s awesome, Mags? Come on, what are the odds of them ever having this chance again!

Shaking his head, Ultra Magnus waited until the Captain had paused to take a breath before he finally said, “I think it would be prudent for the humans to visit Rung before anything else happens, Rodimus. They’ve been through a lot and could benefit from talking to someone who could help them calm down and adjust to their situation.”

“Yeah, yeah, sure thing, Mags,” Rodimus replied, waving a hand in dismissal as he reached over to scoop the two humans up without much warning. “Okay, here we go! When you two are done chatting with Rung we’ll get started on the introductions and all the other fun stuff! You are gonna love it here!”

The door slid shut behind the captain’s heel, only serving to muffle his excited voice as he moved further away from the office. Leering at the door, Ultra Magnus heaved a heavy sigh and sank down into his desk chair before uttering, “Whatever.”

Q1. Your dream job when you were a child?
A badminton player when I was in elementary school. After that my parents bought me a computer so I got into gaming and wanted to do a job about gaming.

Q2. How did the members celebrate your birthday in 2017?
We were all practicing singing and dancing and the lights suddenly went off, then the door was opened and Jimin-san and V-san came in holding a cake.

Q3. When do you feel like you have become an adult!
I turned 20 in Japanese age in September! But actually I’m still a kid at heart, so truthfully I don’t really feel like I have become an adult.

Q4. In which moment do you feel like you’re still a kid?
For example, when I watch and think about a video or an interview. When I read people’s comments, I feel like even with the same question, they think from a much bigger point of view than me. That’s when I feel like maybe I’m still lacking in depth.

Q5. A work that touched you recently?
“Love, Rosie”. It made me touched because it’s a sweet but sad love story.

Q6. The kind of song you’re planning to compose?
Song of styles like future base and chillstep which I enjoy and listen to a lot.

Q7. Favorite dessert?
The Japanese snack kinako mochi. I like that it melts in my mouth because it’s just so fluffy! Also I ate cheesecake before the photoshoot for <non-no>. That one was delicious too♡

Q8. How do you take care of your beautiful voice?
I don’t pay particular attention to it… Like I just sing with my original voice I’ve had since I was born…

Q9. Any habit?
Covering my nose when I yawn. Not mouth but nose somehow. (laughs) And I pull the baby hair on my face unconsciously. I know about these things because fans told me.

I tried to see if I could play through Bros, because I couldn’t find any complete playthrough videos and I wanted to see what the ending looked like for this tragic bro game, or if it had any ending at all.

As you may already know the game greets you with a somewhat lifeless looking title screen with a weirdly sad theme playing in the background. It gives me the feeling that this is the bro’s first adventure but may also be his last…

The game also kicks you back to this title screen every time you get a game over. It’s the beginning but also the end.

This game is such a bizarre experience. I knew what the first few levels were like based on a video I saw but they couldn’t make it past a certain burning pipe without running out of lives.

When I got past it I knew I was walking into unknown territory. I had to rely on save states because this game is long, hard and unfair. I doubt anyone has even beaten this game without save states or cheating.

Shortly after this burning pipe the levels started getting weirder by using bizarre and also kinda scary color palettes.

I already thought the game had this melancholy, lonely and hopeless feel to it, and these color palattes combined with the unfair difficulty and awful level design doesn’t help. Every time you die the game also plays a realistic voice clip of a man going “uUNGH!!” so you’ll be hearing that a lot too.

I had no idea how long time game was going to be. Every world has 4 stages, with the fourth one being a castle level. After about 4 or 5 worlds I was thinking I had to be close to finishing the game. Yet I was still greeted with the same message at the end of every castle.

And then I got to world 8. This had to be the end, I could feel it.

I saw the entrance to the final castle and I was finally going to solve the mystery of this game. Do you finally get to save your brother, or does this game even have an ending at all?

But first I had to face the final challenge… the void.

Either the developers didn’t think anyone would make it this far, or they must have hated their players. The final level of the game is a series of mazes with tricky jumps in the pitch black darkness. You’re also very low on time, so you have to be really fast. The game also freezes for half a sec every time you jump into a wall, making this really frustrating to play.

Luckily there are no enemies or pitfalls that can kill you here but the timer is still a big enough problem.

It was way too hard and unfair, and I was starting to doubt if I could get through it, even with save states.

But after a while I finally made it.

And this is all I get for the trouble.

I don’t know what I was expecting…

36 Trolls. 2 Per Week. Spring 2018. At this rate they’ll finish showing the Trolls on March, which lines up with the window to release it.

The fact they already have the designs for all the Trolls tells me the development is going along quite swimmingly as well. I thoguht they were ordered by Blood Color- Since we see the Gold and Teal, and you can see a few like, a posh Indigo-looking guy at the bottom-left corner, or a Gamzee-like angry boi two spots to the right, as well as some almost Kanaya-esque (And a Swifer Eggmop wannabe nearby?) between the Gold and Teal. The Jade section is, in fact, also preceded by two quite wild-looking Trolls that could be Olives.

However, the third Troll shown has strands of hair that look like an Axolotl, which would tie them to the First Guardian, and likely, mean they’re Fiamet, but they’re at the beginning and Fiamet is a Limeblood, so it throws the order theory off. Not to say, two rows under ‘Fiamet’, there’s someone in a top hat and with a cane, which seems extremely fancy.

Also, Beekeeper Troll? Seems they maybe replaced the original 3D Models with new ones since they used to be Fantrolls of the team? There’s also a fisherman that looks different from the original 3D Model… If so, it’s a sad day, Beekeeper was quite the cutie. But I like the shorty! I’m excited to see all of them and learn their oh-so-hard-to-remember names.

The hype is real.

anonymous asked:

do you have an idea of a checklist for learning how to create digital art? like i know practice is essential, but i don't really know where to start or where to go from there. thanks so much xox

I think I can toss some stuff out here that might be of use.  Assuming an artist learning digital art starts from the beginning–owning a tablet & drawing program but not knowing how to use them–here’s an inconveniently long list of stuff that could help them.

TL;DR: 1, mess around till you’re used to drawing digitally. 2, study and create ad infinitum. 3, a bunch of tips that are pretty hard to TLDR so you should probably just go over em.  Step 2 is basically what you asked me NOT to tell you (“practice”!), but unfortunately it’s all I know how to do :,(

1) If you own a tablet that you plug into your computer (i.e., you don’t draw directly on the screen), feel free to spend a few weeks or even a month+ just getting used to it.  When you first start out, it’s really freaky drawing in one place and seeing things appear somewhere else, but trust me in that you won’t even notice the disconnect after a few months of consistent digital drawing.  I’ve been painting digitally for about 2 years now, and it’s actually slightly easier for me to draw digitally than traditionally.  [If you have a cintiq, or you use an iPad with Procreate, or something similar, then you probably don’t have to spend as much time in step 1.]

Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter how good you were with traditional drawing when you start digital; the mental disconnect you have will make it very difficult to think about proportions, values, edges, colors, etc.  You’ll probably notice yourself making mistakes that you wouldn’t normally make on paper.  Don’t worry about them, just keep drawing as you usually would.  Digital you will catch up to traditional you in time.

For now, get used to blending colors, drawing somewhat steady lines that go in the correct direction, and fooling around with brushes and brush settings.  If you come across a brush that you like (easy to work with + pleasing results), it may help to stick with it as you continue to learn.  Digital doodles and sketches are good for this stage; though try to keep doing traditional work so your base art skills don’t atrophy.

If you’re just starting out with Photoshop or Sai or Krita or whatever software you’re using, you’re gonna be intimidated by all the funky buttons and settings that you first see.  If it makes you feel any better, I use maybe 0.1% of the tools that Photoshop offers me.  When you start, all you need to worry about is the brush tool and control-z, maybe the eraser too.

2) Do studies as well as pieces from imagination.  You can move into step 2 as early as you please; you don’t have to wait until you think you’ve become “skillful” at digital drawing (in fact, this step is what will probably help you become the most comfortable with digital).  It’s alright if your colors are icky looking and your values are off (tip, occasionally turn the saturation of your drawing to 0 to check the values), because as long as you keep studying reality and appealing art & continually learn from your mistakes, you’ll get better.

Always remember to study or at least appreciate the qualities of art you enjoy.  It’s the same thing that people always tell writers–you have to read a lot to write well.  You probably shouldn’t shield yourself from the influence of other artists; while you may think that this action would help you develop artistically in the manner most true to yourself, in reality the vast majority of the process of learning art will be honing in on what you find visually pleasant so that you may, in turn, express your artistic taste in your work.  If you look at other people’s art, you can pick out tiny aspects of it that you like and incorporate that into your style.  It’s a bit trickier to build a style without the “help” of other artists, though you can always turn to nature for help. On that note, I also recommend referencing nature as much as you can, because we as human beings are sort of wired to find natural designs, colors, and structures beautiful.  Look at nature for the universally beautiful, and look at art for the subjectively beautiful (i.e., enjoyed uniquely by you).

If you find yourself getting burnt out pretty quickly, then just paint/draw simple and small things for period of half an hour to 1 ½ hours a day (and switch back to traditional).  You can spend this time mapping out proportions, creating thumbnails of values/colors, drawing linework, or whatever.  Add complexity to your pieces as the months go by, and if you already have a decent foundation in drawing aim to create somewhat finished pieces after maybe four months to a year.  Please note that the second part of that sentence was something I completely made up out of my head, because I’m trying to quantify pretty unquantifiable concepts such as a “decent foundation in drawing” and a “somewhat finished” piece of art.  If you find it unrealistic, or just too easy of a goal, disregard it entirely.  It can take you half a decade to learn to make finished digital art, or you can get it down in a couple months.

3) Fun fact, there’s not really a step 3 as you stay in 2 forever, always studying and creating.  But there’s a few other things about digital art that you ought to know, so here they are:

• If your computer doesn’t make a fuss about it, I’d recommend working on a decently large canvas (at least 3000 by 3000; I personally prefer 6000 by 6000). You’ll get less defined edges and colors if you go below 1000 by 1000, from my experience.

• If you have a tablet with pressure sensitivity (you probably should otherwise digital painting is kinda hellish), go to your brush settings and set ‘transfer’ to ‘pen pressure.’  This is what makes it possible to blend.

• If you’re having trouble matching colors while studying, you can always color pick the ref (in photoshop: bring the pic into PS and use the eye dropper tool) and compare its colors to your colors.  Some people add too much red to their skin tones, some people draw their highlights with overly desaturated colors, some people make trees and grass in their landscapes too green; whatever the case, take note of and correct errors that you consistently make.

• Get used to using the transform/warp/liquify tools (liquify is technically a filter but you get what I mean).  They’re lifesavers for fixing proportion mistakes that you’ve only noticed 8 hours into a piece.

• Give layers a shot.  I only work on one layer, but I’ve heard from people who divide their piece up into multiple layers that they’re damn useful (until you draw on the wrong one).

• Flip your canvas horizontally every once in a while to make sure stuff hasn’t gone awry.

• Screw around with color modes; they can do some really fancy things that are difficult to duplicate with normal digital painting, let alone traditional.  On the topic of colors, don’t be afraid to use somewhat desaturated colors (near the center of the color picker square in PS). There are some very aesthetically pleasing color combinations that you can make out of somewhat dulled colors.

• If you’re using PS, bind ‘step backward’ to control Z, not ‘undo.’  This is under keyboard shortcuts.  Set up a bunch of shortcuts that are the most convenient for you–personally, I only keep my left hand near the lower left region of my keyboard (my right hand is away from the keyboard and off to the right, drawing on the tablet), so I have all of my necessary shortcuts in that area.

This was a bit longer than I expected, but I figure that someone out there can get something out of it.  Cheers to you, if you do.

Keith Kogan: A Portrayal of Homosexuality Done Right

I always tell people that Voltron is a lot more clever than it gets credit for. It can spin a cliche/trope on it’s head beautifully, and while all the characters are easily digestible archetypes (i.e: the nerd, the loner), the creators add layers to them that not only make them feel like real people, but also makes social commentary on those very archetypes.

In no better way do they do this than with the character of Keith.

Before I get into how and why Keith deviates from you’re typical gay male protagonist, I want to establish as a fact that Keith is homosexual.

If you don’t see - what I consider to be - blatant evidence that Keith’s gay, well, I can’t say I blame you. Most people have ingrained heteronormative lenses, meaning they’ll miss the subtext of homosexual characters. Us in the LGBT community are much more attuned to seeing these because, well, for one, we’re queer, and two, because up until around the 1960s, the portrayal of gay characters in the media was illegal and could only be shown subtextually.

So it makes sense that people overlook the very nuanced portrayal of Keith’s sexuality, but if you’re willing to take off those lenses, it’s certainly there.

The first standout appearance of this is in season 1 episode 6: Taking Flight. Or as I like to call it, the day the shows name officially changed to Gaytron: Legendary Homosexuals

I think one of the disconnects for some viewers is that they don’t completely grasp the saying, “Show don’t tell,” the mantra of pretty much every writer. Not always, but typically, showing is better than telling. Or more accurately, telling needs to be used at the correct times and for the right reasons.

So how do they show us that Keith’s gay in this episode? Through three things, body language, actions, and juxtaposition.

You don’t have to be a body language specialist to understand the clear meaning behind Keith’s posture. Leaning, looking someone up and down, and a small, lingering smile/smirk are all subconscious signs of attraction. They’re also common ways of depicting male attraction in the media.

Speaking of depicting male attraction, lets look at how Lance’s flirts in the same episode.

Leaning. Check. Lingering smile. Check. Engaged eye contact. Check. The biggest difference is how blatant they are in their intentions, but that comes down to pure character difference. Keith is self assured and more genuinely confident. He also has a lot of walls up and isn’t so open. While Lance puts on a show/over compensates so that he might appear cool. You can also see this in their respective ‘I’m-checking-you-out’ postures. Lance’s body is open, he’s engaged and his eyes are on Nyma’s eyes. While Keith’s posture is interested, but more in an appreciative way. His body is closed off, and instead of looking Rolo in the eyes, he looks at his - um - physique. This is really fitting for Keith’s character, who again, has walls, and who also puts this mission first, and most likely has no intention of letting this attraction lead to anything other than having a nice piece of eye candy around for a couple of hours.

This is textbook juxtaposition. So moving along now.

I don’t want this to be a shippy post, so I won’t add all the times I think Keith shows attraction towards Lance, but I do want to mention this scene.

The use of the rainbow(the most recognizable symbol in the gay community) over lapping the bi flag colors is relevant for the same reason why the use of purple to symbolize the Galra is relevant. Purple represents royalty, imperialism, but also gloom and danger. The use of these colors and symbols are conscious choices.

While the above scene shows that Keith is attracted to men, this scene shows that Keith is also not attracted to woman.

What I love about this scene is that it’s such a cliche, and like I said up above, Voltron is good at turning those on their head. Here they utilize the tiered and true trope of accidentally falling into each others arms. If this was a hetero-centric Romcom than this moment would’ve been obviously meant to establish attraction, but instead, it does the opposite. Rather Keith personally likes Allura or not, she’s a knock out. So, if he’s attracted to women at all, and isn’t use to having that contact- which hes not - he should be at least somewhat shocked/flustered. If it had been an attractive guy that fell into Keith’s arms, I have no doubt that his reactions would be something beyond that blank stare. Considering he literally gasps every time Lance touches him

The last piece of “evidence” I want to show isn’t as blatant and may just be my perspective, but it’s worth mentioning.

The themes of Keith’s Galra arc are very reminiscent to coming out. He’s discovering parts of himself. He’s internalizing and hiding away said parts. He’s scared of what the people he cares about will think of him when they find out. If this is intentional, it’s brilliant, because while Voltron is set in a futurist world where sexuality is supposedly not an Issue, it still is for the youth of today. Meaning by having these similar themes, Keith becomes more relatable to LGBT people.

This is the part where, if you still don’t think Keith’s gay, I’ll have to calmly yet firmly ask you to get off my fucking lawn. For the rest of you, onward to victory!!!

LGBT individuals have a history of being badly represented in the media, especially now that gay characters have become a marketing strategy for a more progressive consumer base. Their whole character is often reduced to stereotypes or used as a giant walking gay pride flag that reads: look at us, we’re hip and with the times. Meaning, the majority of these characters plots and personalities are based solely on their sexuality. Which is a problem, because not only does it not help to normalize homosexuality, but it’s just not relatable to LGBT people.

I’ll give you an example. My mom’s a lesbian. She married to a woman and has two daughters, one who is trans and one who is bi. But despite how “gay"her life may seem, she very rarely describes herself as that way. She’s not active in LGBT issues. She doesn’t involve herself in the community. Shes not lesbian first and everything else afterward, and she is certainly not alone in that experience. Don’t get me wrong, LGBT individuals are more aware of their sexuality than cishet people, but it’s typically only because others point it out and remind us that its not "normal.” Still, for a lot of LGBT people, our sexuality is just one part of our personal narrative, not the whole damn book.

Another problem with LGBT representations is that their often just built off of stereotypes. Gay men are feminized and their sexuality is typically made the butt of a joke. They are shown as being promiscuous and having commitment issues. These are the standards.

But Keith abolishes all of those, and in such a seamless way too.

While Keith’s character is in no way excessively macho, he’s certainly not feminine either. He doesn’t mind getting sweaty. He’s temperamental and has anger issue. He lived a pretty low maintenance life in a desert shack, sleeps in his jeans like a heathen, and probably uses a dagger to peel oranges. Keith is a masculine character. He’s confident and self assured, but not vain. He’s emotional, but in a very private way. Whereas many other portrayal of gay men depict them as almost theatrically sensitive, confident, but only in their sexual prowess, and self absorbed, but only when it come to their looks and not when it comes to their skills.

This is already an impressive deviation, but what really makes Keith’s portrayal stand out is the way his sexuality is but a mere footnote in what makes his character his character, and how that fits into his personality and story arc so well.

The first thing you have to realize about Keith is that, while he certainly wants to connect with people, it’s not his number one priority. He has barriers. He fears rejection, and despite wanting to feel as if he belongs, its not hard to see how Keith has been conditioned to assume he’ll inevitability be left behind, and therefore places personal relationships low on his list of priorities. Meaning, yes, he was checking out Rolo, and yes, I believe that he’s very very fond of Lance, but I can’t imagine that Keith really sees these relationships becoming something substantial or romantic, and thus doesn’t put too much effort into perusing them. You can really tell what’s important to a character by what they focus their time on. Take Lance for instance, he’s a character who blatantly cares about friendships and has no problem openly flirting. That’s not to say Lance doesn’t care about the war, just like Keith’s reluctance to pursue meaningful bonds doesn’t mean he doesn’t want them. It just means that relationships and love obviously mean a lot to Lance.

So what does Keith focus on? Well, he shows the most focus on relationships in season one, when the connections he had with his makeshift family was the post pressing thing going on. (You cant really form Voltron if you don’t connect with the other members) But after season one, with all the changes Keith goes through, we see a big shift in his priorities. First he finds out about his heritage, then Shiro disappears and he is thrust into leadership, and then most recently, he joins the Blade.

By framing Keith’s character like this, it allows the creators to make his sexuality natural and relatable in a very interesting way. Because as LGBT people know, our sexuality isn’t the most important part of our lives. Just like Keith, we have more to focus on.

That’s not to say that his sexuality will never be shown explicitly. Like I said, I don’t want to get too shippy, but I truly believe that Laith is endgame. So if and when that happens, his sexuality will naturally come into play. Sadly, their will be a lot of people who call it forced because they missed the subtext and are use to seeing gay characters depicted more as spectacles than real people.

Voltron has really done something special here. They’ve create a universe where sexuality isn’t an issue, and they make it believable by never bringing it up outside of naturally occurring, unforced, appropriate context. Even better, because the Voltron universe is so vastly different than our own, it would’ve been easy to make LGBT characters that we couldn’t relate to, but they don’t. They manage this so well that I honestly can’t phantom Keith’s sexuality being anything but homosexual despite the fact it’s never been explicitly shown.

But most importantly, they’re creating a higher standard for LGBT representation. They are normalizing it on a show aimed towards children who are heavily influenced by the media they consume.

That, my friends, is worth applauding.

✧ *.🎃Samhain Solitary Rituals🎃*✧

As the air grows cooler and the winds begin to howl and rip the dead leaves from trees, we know the veil is thin and Samhain is near! After the equinox, which was equal parts night and day, Samhain marks the time of the wheel that we descend into the darker half of the year. It’s this time of the year that communication and connection to the spirit world is a lot easier and we’ve grown accustomed to making wards to protect the home from malevolent energy in the form of jack o lanterns and lights. On a positive note it is a time to leave out treats and foods for passed away loved ones and to remember them. It’s the final harvest full of well spiced comfort autumn foods as well as a ‘New Year’ since it’s a sabbat that honors the natural cycle of death and sees it as a form of transformation.

A lot of us witches practice alone and have our own solitary rituals for each sabbat that we observe (or the ones we’ve created just for ourselves that we observe alone!) Like any solitary eclectic witch I do things my own different way but some of these things might line up with others practices. I do refer to some of the equinoxes/solstices/crossquarters by their celtic sabbat names but I celebrate them in a secular animist way and treat the wheel of the year I celebrate as more of an argrarian cycle and celebrating nature. I use sabbat names as a point of reference and also people that do celebrate these witches sabbats more traditionally might find value in my personal practice!  Here is my personal correspondences post and my personal samhain tag!

When I am alone and casting spells a lot of it is visualization/intent so my solitary rituals are more like activities I like to do then specifically casting a spell. If I am doing a spell with an activity based on it a lot would be listening to music to get in the mood and focusing on a candle while visualizing for a period of time! Eves are also important to my celebration as I like to stay up until midnight and cast a spell then!

Hallow’s Eve

Tuesday October 31st 2017

  • Dressing up in your most witchiest
Ok every year I’m a witch, whether it’s just a lazy witch in my black clothing or an over the top kitschy witch with colorful hair and electric colored make up, but I just like to have these looks casually on Halloween day cause its amazing and a chance for me to be myself!

  • Pumpkin Carving!
If you haven’t already tonight is definitely the night for pumpkin carving! Write sigils inside your pumpkin for protective magic. I love this DIY for a pumpkin indoor lantern cause it shows how to rub spices like cinnamon and nutmeg inside to achieve that sent of pumpkin pie in the home. Use electric candles instead of flame if you want it to last the night since the flame’s heat will cook the pumpkin.

  • Mini Pumpkin Tea lights
Also an easier alternative to carving if you don’t have much time. Even gutting the mini pumpkins takes a lot of time for me but doing so and filling them with a black tea light will make an excellent centerpiece either for your altar or feast table!

  • Making Candy Apples
I associate candy coated sweet red apples with halloween (and caramel/maple sugar on granny smith for mabon) and I love how you can make the candy various colors like a poisonous black or vibrant blood red!

  • Setting sweets aside for spirits
So everyone has spirits that chill with them and it would be great to show appreciation for the positive spirits that surround you. Set some sweets on a dish and make a tiny altar for them in your space.

  • Enjoying sweets while doing crafts!
Enjoy some of that halloween candy for yourself! My favorite treats on this night are chocolate coated donuts, reeses cups, cider sugar donuts, red licorice and apple cider.

  • Watching a spooky or Halloween themed movie
Or halloween themed film. My favorite will always be the 80s halloween special The Worst Witch with Tim curry. I watch it religiously.

  • Spirit Contact
I wouldn’t suggest using an Ouija board or doing any communication with spirits if you have never had experience. They can be rude and harass you, YET if you are experienced and know how to guard yourself, then this is a great night to play with an ouija board! (PS I think Ouija Girl has a great informative blog about working with ouija boards. Here is her FAQ page. But still, it’s always better to do work with a medium or someone with experience than trying to figure it out alone).

A safer experience for someone with no spirit communication experience is attending a seance! In NYC there are a few mediums that hold seances monthly. I love the one at Catland in Brooklyn, the mediums that host the event there are fantastic. It might be hard to attend an authentic one on Halloween night since a lot of people will want to just try to cash in on creating a 'spooky’ experience, but if you really want, try to get in contact with mediums and ask if they host any seance events. Important to know: usually the spirits that chill around you are guides and family and they might have more info to give you then you might be ready for. My first seance I really don’t know what to do with the info given to me but I really hope I make the best of it and don’t mess anything up.

  • Witches Flight
This is like an extension of the previous point where if you have never done this before just completely disregard this suggestion cause flying is dangerous. For many years witches have flown on Halloween night to other realms using flying ointments.

  • Protective Magic:
Finally, protect yourself from the high spirit activity with crystals like black tourmaline, obsidian and spirit quartz. Do protective spells for any cats you see or live with especially black cats since they tend to be targets.

Midnight Spell:

  • This sabbat honors the natural cycle of death and transformation. Focus on what you want to transform in your life. Magic on this night is very powerful so think about it before hand and make sure it is what you want for if you ask to transform something, you might find a lot of endings that suddenly occur in your life to lead to the transformations that you want. (There was a conversation on here I can no longer find but it was put  really nicely that death is not just some simple 'transformative’ process it can be very drastic, often very uncomfortable and if you are not ready though you ask for something to change, you might not be ready for the new obstacles that will be thrown at you. Just know that you will be ready for what you ask for.)
  • Some spell activities can be shuffling the deck visualizing what you want to change and then finding the death card and seeing the card that follows will be your answer to seek how you can further bring that transformation closer.
  • I’m a mixologist and enjoy working with liquor for rituals. I find fire to be a great transformer yet instead of burning something I prefer blessing a shot of whiskey or absinthe with my intent then taking it like liquid fire to transform me within. If you do not like alcohol or can not drink it for whatever reason you can perform this with hot apple cider instead!

Samhain Day

Wednesday, November 1st 2017

  • Upon the day I like to dress in complete black. My makeup is very dark and I wear long black dresses and veils. Depending on how you want to honor the dead, dress how you wish.

  • Gravesweeping
Visit your loved ones on this day and leave flowers and gifts on their grave! If you want you can also visit any cemetery, yet make sure to practice good graveyard etiquette. Leave a penny by the gate, do not sit or lean on any tomb stones, of course don’t take anything from a grave. Be respectful of those whom are resting.

  • Close Your Garden
This is a time to close the garden for the winter to come. Harvest the last fruits and herbs and bring in any delicate potted plants within the home.

  • Shadow Work
Especially if you are looking to transform some aspect of your life this is a great time to do shadow work and look within if you are creating any obstacles for yourself. Get to know your shadow self, get to solve problems together. This is also an excellent day for divination and scrying.

  • Meditation and Energy Work by the base of a tree
I love to do energy work on the days of the sabbats yet as the earth grows colder, the roots dig deeper and the world goes into hibernation. Sit at the base of a tree preferably with thick roots and feel it’s connection to the cold earth beneath you. Dig into yourself and see what needs to rest and what needs to be healed.

Celebratory Feast

  • So in many practices people like to host a dumb supper but instead I like to have a lively feast where everyone will share a story about someone they loved that passed away or a story of an ancestor in their family. At the end of each tale we toast our glasses to them! (And pour a little bit of drink to them or set aside a snack if they are not into alcohol.)

  • Hold a feast of rich comfort foods that are spiced and sweet like sweet potato mash, candied brown beans, pumpkin bread, smokey bourbon pulled pork or maple glazed beef brisket, roasted carrots and beets and (I personally love to make baked mac and cheese but its a fall comfort soul food for me). My Samhain feast is abundant with fall soul foods and sweet roots and spices. (here is a fantasy feast post and my personal feast post from last year)

  • If you are alone (as this is a solitary post), make a few fall dishes you deeply enjoy or cook the favorites of loved relatives that have passed away, eat some sweets and set out some offerings to passed away loved ones.

A/N: So my Soulmate AU writing extravaganza begins with Loki, my MCU husband. I’ll probably end up writing these Soulmate AUs to be a little longer. This was a request for @bi-pie67 for 7. Your internal voice is the voice of your soulmate’s, rather than your own.

“Are you sure bringing Loki back to the Tower is a good idea?” You asked Thor dubiously. Steve seemed to reflect your sentiment, looking just as doubtful.

“I assure you, Loki will not get into any trouble,” Thor said. “He seems to have had a change of heart, and my father has ensured that he will be unable to use magic while here, at least until we are sure he is trustworthy.”

“I’m going to trust you on this, Point Break,” Tony said. “But if he destroys my tower again, I won’t be happy.”

“I am certain Loki will do no such thing,” Thor said. “I shall bring him here tomorrow, is that okay?” Everyone shrugged, still looking uneasy with the whole idea, though nobody raised any objection to that. “Marvelous! He shall be here tomorrow, then.”

Clint snorted. Out of everyone, he was, understandably, the least excited. “Can’t wait.”

You hadn’t actually been around for the whole Loki debacle, and admittedly you were a little curious to meet Thor’s brother. Some rather colorful tales had been told by the rest of the Avengers about Thor’s ‘crazy adopted brother’, but you wanted to find out for yourself. Plus, as someone who was still waiting to find their soulmate, there was always the little ‘what if it’s him’ in the back of your mind. Your soulmate, at least from what you always heard in your internal voice, sounded British… almost. You couldn’t put your finger on the accent, but it was similar to Thor’s.

“Up and at ‘em, sunshine!” Tony’s voice came over the speakers in the tower the following morning. “Good ol’ Reindeer Games will be here today, so we gotta make sure everyone is ready. You know, just in case he goes rabid reindeer on our asses. That’s all. Over and out.”

Groaning, you rolled out of bed, pulling on some presentable clothes and making sure you were ready to meet Thor and Loki. Thor had informed everyone that he would arrive around noon, giving everyone ample time to get ready. You made your way to the kitchen, grabbing a cup of coffee that Steve had made and sitting at the table.

“Sleep okay?” Steve asked, glancing up from his own cup.

“Yeah,”  You nodded. “Thanks for the coffee.”

“No problem. What do you think about Loki coming to stay here?” He asked you.

You shrugged. “Well, I’ve never met the guy, so it’s hard to say. Wary, but curious.”

“All I can say is, don’t get your hopes up too high,” He said with a snort. “I don’t trust the guy.”

“Guess we’ll have to find out,” You said.

The part of the deep web that we aren’t supposed to see

Story by Mr_Outlaw_

I’ll assume you all know about the deep web. Well, what you’ve heard is true, it’s not a great place. While some people are there to score legal weed or firearms, or even out of sheer curiosity, others… well they’re obviously not up to anything good. But I’m not here to talk about those sickos. I’m here to talk about what lies beyond that point. The more cryptic and unexplainable part of the internet. The part that nobody’s really supposed to see.

“You would not believe your eyes…”

I saw my first fireflies for the year, and it made me want to try and paint something :’>

some pick-me-up prompts
  • “Hey, nerd! …go kick their butt.”
  • “You are loved.”
  • “Morning, lovely. I see you got out of bed… I’m proud of you.”
  • “You’re like fall… I love fall.”
  • “I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you happy.”
  • “Picture yourself as a cat. Are you fluffy, hairless, big, small? What color are you? Well, no matter how you are, I got news buddy, all cats are cute. You’re cute. Your flaws are cute. Your personality is cute. Your mistakes? You guessed it, cute. Now, you wouldn’t treat a cat badly, right? You’d feed it, love it, support it, right? …‘cause if you wouldn’t then I’d whoop your ass, so you better love yourself no matter what, cutie.“
  • “Someone, someday, is going to write a sappy poem about you. And even though it’s super cliche, you will love it to pieces. You’re so adorable.”
  • “I hope you have a wonderful day.”
  • “You are your worst criticizer, seriously, all those things you’re worried about, they are absolutely fine.”
  • “Have you eaten in the last hours? Drank enough water? If not, do it now or I will… fight you… with my love…. yeah!”
  • “Keep going, love.”
  • “Look at you, god… you’re amazing.”
  • “It’s okay, you’re allowed to cry, just let it all out.”
  • “You’re strong and I care about you.”
  • “I love and support you.”
  • "You’re numb. You’re tired. You can’t seem to do anything. You want to give up. Well, I’m here to say, please. Just one more push, just one shower, one tiny task, one more day of looking after yourself. It’s hard, but I’ll be here on the other end, I’ll be there when you close your eyes tonight and you picture me, with the biggest smile on my face. One more, for me, for you.”

Soma Week 2017:

To new K-pop fans…

1. I remember when I first got I to K-pop and I tried to remember their names by remembering their hair color…. I was mistaken. Don’t. Save yourself the confusion.

2. Look up their ages. You might be in for a shock.

3. There is a thing called ‘Korean age’ and basically that means your favorites are going to have 2 ages. There actual age and then their Korean age. For Korean age you automatically turn one on the day you’re born and then gain another year on new year. So you basically add 1 to two years depending on if it’s before or after new year. So when you hear something like “they’re a 94 liner” that means that they were born in 1994..simple right.

4. They aren’t gay. Well logically speaking some of them probably are, but most are straight. Idols are affectionate with each other. You will see them sleeping and cuddling in the same bed, always touching one another, and always getting jealous over one of their members *cough * Jungkook *cough* They aren’t afraid of ‘skinship’ and that doesn’t make them gay.

5. Aegyo. Aegyo is basically just acting overly cute and it can take some getting used too especially if you’re from a country where 'cute’ isn’t really standard. Yeah grown men and women acting overly cute is still something I can’t handle a lot of.

6. V-live. V-live is basically video instagram for Korean artists. That is where they go live, post fun videos, and etc. You can download it completely free from your app store. There are some channels/content that you have to pay for if you want to watch it though. Most of the big names in K-pop will have subtitles on their content because of the lovely translators in the fandom, but a lot of the small or newer groups won’t. 😔

Oh and if you download vlive and your watching a solo live from one of your favorites and they aren’t your bias *favorite* DON’T ASK FOR OTHER MEMBERS!!!!!! It makes them feel bad… K… Thanks.

7. There is a dark side to K-pop. Most trainees get treated horribly, some idols don’t eat enough, Scandal on top of Scandal and etc but I’m going to all of that. You can dive into the tell of darkness on your own. Or you can message me or another K-pop fan with any questions.

8. Music shows. Music shows usually happen every week and if your face just had a comeback *aka released new music* then they will likely be on soon. The music shows have winners and those winners are chosen by sales, votes, and I believe views.. IDK. So if you want to vote you can go and make free accounts and vote. Accounts will also help you with voting for the end of the year music shows. MAMA is one of the major ones in case you’ve seen the phrase 'vote bts or vote exo or vote got7 for mama’ it’s not talking about voting for their mother.

9. Variety shows. Oh god variety shows. They will be the best and worst thing to happen to you because one you see your favorites on a variety program *which is kinda like a game show/interview* and you see how adorkable they truly are you are in that fandom for life. Sorry. Not sorry. No way out. K-pop is not a revolving door. Welcome.

Variety shows often involve punishments. Like being spanked by your fellow members or being hit on the head really hard with a toy hammer or flicked in the forehead. It’s weird but you’ll love it. Oh and the K-pop dances are amazing and scary complicated as is, but wait until you see it 2x faster. Not sure idols are human TBH.

10. Whiplash. What I mean by this is you are going to pick a favorite and they are going to be adorable and cute and you are going to want to protect them and their innocence and then they are going to get on stage or start dancing and they change into this rude creature and you’re not sure what just happened …i call it whiplash. The transition from fluffy to rude within .0000001 of a second. You get whiplash.

11. You have to go to YouTube and look up K-pop crack videos. Just look up 'K-pop crack’ or 'K-pop on crack’ they are so funny. Also the K-pop try not to laugh videos.

12. K-pop fandom. Each fandom has a name for their fans, like bts’ fans are called 'Army’ And each fandom either has or will at some point have a unique lightstick to represent their fandom. Fan chants are also a thing. You will often hear these at music shows and concerts. They are quite easy to pick up ion their own, but if you need assistance then you can google “ *group name* fan chants”

13. You don’t speak Korean. That is perfectly okay. Most of the big groups have amazing translators in their fandoms and they sub everything..mostly into English.. But I’ve seen some in Spanish and German too. You do not have to speak the language to be able to love K-pop. Music doesn’t need lyrics to be understood. But more power to you if you want to learn Korean it is a beautiful language and has amazing tradition and heritage that is so fun to learn about.

14. K-dramas. They are a thing and they are amazing. A lot of your favs have probably made an appearance if not had a leading role. Even if they don’t have your favs I do recommend downloading 'Drama Fever’ and binge watching. Again there are sub titles and most of the content is free, but there is some you have to pay for.

15. Military enlistment. It is law in Korea that every able-bodied man must serve at least 2 years in the military before they are 32. Idols from Thailand such as 2pm’s Nichkhun and Got7’s BamBam can either take the full 2 years or enter the draft. If they enter the draft and don’t draw a red card then they don’t have to go, but if they enter the draft and draw the red card then they have to serve the full 2 years. Idols from America and other countries are exempt I do believe.

Let me or another K-pop Stan know if you have any more questions and we’ll do our best to answer and if anyone has something else to add feel free ☺

Welcome to the K-pop life ♥
