I’ll post up one o’ these beauts in grayscale sometime today. ♥

Much love,

I’m sorry I didn’t post anything more than that one pic yesterday. I’ll post several extra bonus pics today to make up for it. Starting with my own little ruffian, Colt. He’s my Great Boy who’s a little ‘special needs’ in some ways. My favorite kind of dogs obviously. Maybe one day I’ll explain a little more if anyone was interested.

I know this is a few days late but to the anon that was looking for Big Brother fics I've been working on one that I finally got around to posting today. It's called "You're Poison" by DarkEyedDreamer on Ao3. (Thanks to the person who asked, because I was literally putting off working on it)

You’re Poison

When Dan signed up for Big Brother he didn’t expect it to be that difficult. He always thought himself to be a level headed guy. But that was before he realized his arch enemy and former celebrity crush were both going to show up.

Troye didn’t like bringing up the past. He always preferred to act like it didn’t exist. Things were a whole lot easier that way. But now he was going to be trapped with his past for the next three months, and all of a sudden pretending like nothing happened wasn’t going to work.
With all the drama that young people seem to bring to the table, anything can happen. Adding in challenges and a chance to win $50,000? All bets are off. So who will be going home with the gold? And who will be causing the most drama along the way?

It is perfectly okay to not have the courage to stand up to transphobia/transmisogyny directly, that can get absolutely terrifying and even risk safety

But you can be a good cis ally by doing other things, to name a few examples: helping trans/non-binary people go to the public bathroom of their choice by standing around with them (if people will be less likely to say anything that way) // doing your best to unlearn bigoted habits // giving reassurance to trans/non-binary people in distress // making sure to avoid cissexism in discussions where it would appear

I won’t take any offense if your mouth refuses to open when you want to speak up against hostility! My point is just that you can help in other ways

yall im actually in tears wtf tumblr

i had written the dongho mafia au and saved it about 1/3 of the way through as a draft. then later today (like just now) i finished it and went to post it but for some reason tumblr glitched and didn’t post it? and so i copied the text to my clipboard, went back to the post, and instead of pressing “ctrl+v” to paste the finished work, i pressed “ctrl+c” and copied the unfinished work

i hate computers why am i so bad at them oh my fucking god the frustration is at the max rn

super late for this but your kanade giving maria advice post, i died and just imagined now all advice must go through genjuro because he's kanade's actual dad (and best dad) and has heard it all before and gives way better flirting advice because there's romance shoehorned into all his action movies. que grumbling about kids today not appreciating a good plot without romance and maria watching the classics with him

g od i love this and i had a pretty fun thought on it. first off i wondered how to get around the problem of the fact that shoehorned romance like this is usually Bad Bad Advice. genjuuro is too good to think “argue with a girl for six scenes and then mid-argument kiss her to shut her up” is good advice

but genjuuro does know tsubasa really well. maria knows he knows tsubasa really well. however tsubasa doesn’t know tsubasa really well, and maria is having trouble getting tsubasa’s attention and “hey i think we like each other let’s date, you don’t ‘not deserve to love’ i want to love you”

so maria really awkwardly and indirectly asks him how to ask out tsubasa, and he pretends to not get it and puts a big friendly hand on her shoulder and says he has some training for her. maria is too awkward to say she doesn’t need training so she goes along with it like when you try to tell your friend’s mom what you want for lunch and she mishears and you eat something you don’t like because it feels awkward and rude to correct her afterwards

training of course is just watching a movie. if i knew more movies i might have an idea of one but i’m sure there’s a movie out there with a battle couple on mutual footing. the big deal is like after the final battle or something, still sweaty and injured and tired, they confess/kiss. i guess like pacific rim but that wasn’t explicitly romantic

so maria doesn’t know why they just watched that, and genjuuro asks her what she learned
“how to…fight alongside tsubasa?”
genjuuro grabs her by both shoulders seriously. “be direct! right there, when the tension is high! take her attention by force and let her know how you really feel!”
and maria just =O because this whole time she thought he didn’t know this was about her girly romance feelings
of course genjuuro knows about girly romance feelings. he was there at the peak of tsubasa and kanade’s lovestruck teenager phase. hibiki and miku and kirika and shirabe are always around. maria is bad at hiding her feelings and she doesn’t look too different from any of them

so maria thanks him and maybe they watch a couple more movies so she can spend time bonding with her new uncle/brother-in-law. maria calls tsubasa out to spar, she won’t do this when like the noise is a real threat or something. calls a break, and as is flustered as anyone else with a heartbeat would be if they were on the receiving end of tsubasa attacking them while wearing workout clothes and sweating

maria doesn’t really build up she just kisses her. thankfully for maria she was right that tsubasa liked her and was oblivious to the reciprocation, because she wasn’t supposed to be That direct. tsubasa is mostly confused at how sudden it was when she somehow had no idea. and then maria needs a moment to lay on the floor and burn while she processes that tsubasa agreed to date her

7/20/17- Parallel Journeys by Eleanor Ayer

hey guys! does this count as my first *original* post? i woke up kind of late today and haven’t been feeling very productive lately, but i took these photos of my really crappy, kind of sad highlighting in Parallel Journeys. i have to read this book (which isn’t bad, by the way) and another book that i forget the name of for my summer reading project for my english 2 honors class :)

Hey im going to be setting up a new tank for my betta for college. Its going to start cycling today. Any tips?

oh boi :D whats up anon :p
fish-in cycle: dont let ammonia / nitrite get above .25ppm (do a 50% wc then test your water again if it reads .25ppm or above), do a wc when your nitrates get to 20ppm :3

fishless cycle:
you’ll see ammonia rise, then ammonia fall and nitrite rise, then nitrite fall and nitrates rise. keep a handy dandy notebook for recording when you check your params 1-2x a week :p

there are a few different ways to cycle a tank and this post is insanely informative!
how to do the thing
cycle your tank!

Have fun! :D let us know how it goes ^-^

i saw a post earlier today and my pal…

I really like the book and have for a while. As a fan of Philip K Dick in general, I don’t think that particular work translated well to the screen.

yeah, that makes sense! i really wanted to speak in defense of the book. i think it’s a really good read because it DOES deal with the ideas in such a nuanced way. i can totally see that that wouldn’t translate well to TV for… a lot of reasons, the visuals chief among them

i also don’t know that people reacted to it the way they “should” have, but when do they ever? i do remember discussing it with other jewish people at the time and coming to the conclusion that even though many of us had read and liked the novel we just…. didn’t wanna get into it with that show.

i don’t know. i wasn’t mad that people didn’t call the show out when it was released because my hope i guess was just that it would drive people to the original work. and maybe i don’t expect people to stand up and speak against anti-semitism or encourage conversations about it, so i wasn’t surprised. and maybe i wasn’t so jaded and upset and burnt out then.

about a week ago i set the queue on @officialchexmix to make daily posts at precisely 7:32 PM that are just varied ways of saying “fuck chex mix” and honestly i forgot about it until today and the idea that this has just been running in some godforsaken corner of the internet with no audience of any kind is, to me, quite possibly the pinnacle of comedy

When a bad guest leaves

Sometimes, as much as we try to be polite, we can’t help but be relieved to see people leave after an extended stay. Maybe they overstayed their welcome, or were more of a nuisance than you anticipated when you offered the invitation. But now they’re gone, and the cleansing and banishing can begin!

Cleanse your space

An annoying guess can leave your house in physical and emotional turmoil. Wash sheets and tidy up the space they stayed in for sanitary purposes, but also to banish the negative energy they brought with them. Once you’ve finished cleaning, take a broom and sweep all the negativity out the front door.

Cleanse yourself

Bad guests are stressful. Your guest may be gone, but the stress that’s piled up during their stay is still present. Calming bath helps physically relax while also soaking away any negativity that clung to you while you were cleaning. Finish the bath off with an exfoliating body scrub to wash the ick away, and lotion as a physical protective ward (and necessary hydration!).

Practice grounding

Having visitors can be limiting, and it’s likely some aspect of your daily routine has been interrupted during their stay. Now is the time to reclaim things and make your space feel like home again. Once your decor is as it should be and secret notebooks are out of hiding, light some incense or candles to help give the area an emotional reset. Hearty, filling meals (like things containing root vegetables) help provide emotional grounding.

Set up wards

This isn’t a necessary step, but it’s a good added precaution. When you get sick you become more susceptible to other infections, and the same can happen with spaces filled with negativity. Setting up a few wards can help to repel any other gunk that ends up being drawn your way. Because the issue is someone who brought negativity into your home, the best placement for wards would likely be your overall home or property, the room they stayed in, and where they slept. The type of ward varies by personal preference and the issues brought on by their presence.

Day 5: Last Match

This week would not be complete without some angst~ ( u w u ) Takes place after Fukurodani loses their final game of the season.
