this was one of the few times she was funny

the Band AU relationships

all of these relationships are a secret from the press, unless stated otherwise, because the band marketing involves keeping the press guessing about who is dating who (also they think it’s super funny)

Twelve (frontman, lead vocals and guitar):

  • is married to River
  • has had an on-again-off-again thing with Missy for several decades
  • has a secret kid with Missy

Missy (keyboard and vocals):

  • flirts with everyone
  • has a turbulent thing with Twelve
  • has a secret kid with Twelve that she keeps out of the public eye entirely, very few people know the kid exists
  • has sex with Bill one time to make her feel better when she’s Sad about Heather
  • EDIT: occasionally annoys Clara into having sex with her

Bill (bass guitar and vocals):

  • the only monogamous one in the band, pretty much
  • sees Heather in the crowd and falls in love instantly, pines through the story before getting a happy ending on that front
  • has sex with Missy one time when she’s Sad

Nardole (drums):

  • also flirts with everyone, and calls them “babe” and “babydoll”
  • has sex with some of the weirder fans from time to time
  • cuddles everyone and is the Mom Friend

River (solo international pop star):

  • secretly married to Twelve
  • dating Helen Sinclair
  • sometimes gets it on with Helen’s girlfriend Liv too
  • let’s be honest, she probably also had a threesome with Twelve and Missy at some point, but it would be a rare occurrence

Clara (the band’s manager)

  • dating Ashildr (not a secret relationship)
  • EDIT: probably has sex with Missy sometimes when Missy gets especially annoying

Ashildr (opening solo act, acapella + recording pedal)

  • dating Clara

Adding on to the name thing, just another story. I'm not out yet, but I also tend to not give a fuck about what I post, a few or my irl friends follow me, and when I came out online I used my new name, he-him pronouns, all that. Most of them didn't notice or didn't realize it was me, but one of my friends caught on, and began using that name despite me never telling her. One time she accidentally used my new name in public, she backtracked and made a cover up, which was funny and heartworming

Aw that’s nice! - Matt

Today I was chatting with a coworker who I knew had been in an abusive relationship in the past. She was laughing as she told me and another coworker about how her ex never let her leave the house. Like she was for real cracking jokes about his jealous rages and how she wasn’t allowed to so much as set foot outside their door if he wasn’t with her, and the way she was telling it was funny, so we laughed along. “That’s why I enjoy doing the little things now, like taking the bus and going to the bank,” she said, and we all giggled because who likes public transportation and doing errands, right?

Then she got serious for the first time since the conversation started, it lasted only for a few moments, but I will never forget the one sentence that she said without smiling: “I’m going to die before I let that happen to me again.”

There was also this one rape victim whom a relative of mine represented in court. The rapist’s lawyer tried to discredit her by pointing out that she’d laughed while giving her testimony. She was eighteen years old on the witness stand, telling a judge and a room full of people about what had been done to her. She giggled because she was embarrassed about having to describe the graphic sex acts, and she nearly lost her case because of that.

I have classmates who laughed while telling me about old men who stole kisses from them. Who made jokes out of stories about their boyfriends screening their messages and forcing them to do things they didn’t want to do. I have known girls who were molested and manipulated for years, who shake their heads and snicker at their own past selves, how could I have let him do that to me, I was so naive, hahaha. This one woman reenacted for me, complete with dramatic gestures and voice impersonations, how her ex-husband who was under a Temporary Restraining Order scaled the gate of her house with a gun, and how she’d locked herself in her bedroom and screamed at the police over the phone to come NOW. Both of us were in stitches at the end of her tale, clutching our stomachs in mirth.

Just because they laugh doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

Inexorable (1)

So I thought, why not combine that shit and make it a mini-series or something? I really hope you two anons enjoy it! No idea how many parts there will be. We shall see. Gif isn’t mine, cred goes to the owners! 1,560 Words

Pairing: Jeon Jungkook x Reader

Genre: Fluff, a little crack, (Eventual) Smut, Mafia au!

Part 1 | Part 2

Everyone’s heard of blind dates – never of blind marriages, not even in the mafia world. Yet, here you were, walking down the aisle, your hand latched onto your father’s arm, towards a young man you had never seen before.

You hadn’t even gotten the chance to speak to him, let alone this being the first time you actually got to see his face. There was so much rage bubbling inside you at the moment, but it was all hidden behind a small smile.

Combining two mafia organizations together was a huge deal; something bosses usually agreed on with the exchange of girls, but considering Red Python was one of the most powerful organizations in the country, they wouldn’t want just any girl. They wanted a suitable bride for the heir of said organization.

And your father, being the great, generous man he was, suggested you.

Yuri on Ice BD audio commentary translation - Volume 3

Translation of the audio commentary of the BD/DVD vol.3, by Mitsurou Kubo and Junichi Suwabe, voice actor of Victor Nikiforov. I really wanted to post this before the weekend because I’m not going to be home a lot, so I decided “well, I might just not sleep tonight and translate this instead”… This time there are some parts that I translated almost integrally. They talk a lot about Victor, especially Suwabe’s struggle to get into the role. It provides insight while at the same time not providing… since apparently it’s very hard to guess what is “right” when talking about Victor. I’m sure you will get what I mean if you read what they say…

The commentary is only for episode 6. Episode 5 has no commentary. It’s not a full translation but I summarized most of what they said, and as I wrote above some parts are almost completely translated. As in the previous ones, the format is different from normal interview translations, and you can find my comments too (mostly in brackets).

Translation under the post because it’s long. Enjoy!

rose - peter parker

Rose - ((Tom Holland)) Peter Parker x Reader | 3rd Person

Prompt: (soulmate au where: after you meet your soulmate, whatever they draw or write on themselves will also appear on you) During class, a poorly-drawn rose appears on Peter’s forearm, letting him know that he has met his soulmate.

a/n: soulmate aus: overdone yet not done enough. DAY 7!! HOMECOMING COMES OUT TODAY!! i’m insanely proud of both tom and zendaya (my two loves) and i’m so excited to see the movie! but i’m super busy this weekend/today so i have to wait until next week to see it :( so nO SPOILERS! and i want to thank all of you guys who read all the imagines for all 7 days and the support has been insane, so thank you so fucking much you guys rock.

(Y/N) didn’t believe she would find her soulmate. Though he was probably out there, she may not ever meet him. Most of her friends had not yet met their soulmate, but there were a lucky few who were so happy it made (Y/N) sick.

Even having met her fair share of guys, (Y/N) wanted to focus more on her schoolwork over finding love. Though meeting that special someone was always in the back of her mind, she knew that the chances were slim that he went to her high school. Besides, getting into a good college should be a bigger priority over obsessing to find a soulmate.

She sat in the back of a boring history class, and nobody was paying attention to the video being played. Even the teacher had decided to go on their phone over watching the dull documentary. (Y/N) was laying her head down on the desk, bored out of her mind, and decided to pull out a red pen.

Clicking the pen, (Y/N) sloppily started doodling a rose on her upper forearm. The red rose was poorly drawn and messy, but she was proud of it. The rose was simple and plain and she liked it, so she just left it as it was. (Y/N) put her pen back into her bag, and focused her attention back to the uninteresting video.

In a different classroom, Peter sat in the back of his science class next to his friend. His sleeve was rolled down to his wrists, and he felt something on his upper forearm. Pulling his sleeve up, he saw a rose on. It looked as if it were made of red pen, and it seemed to have been drawn carelessly, yet there was something about it that was strangely pretty.

His eyes widened and Peter quickly showed it to his friend, who was excited for Peter. Peter was both happy and extremely anxious. He asked his friend what to do, which we only got an “I don’t know” in response.

Peter walked home after the bell rang, still confused over what exactly he should do. There was a girl out there, who drew a rose on her arm, and didn’t even know that he saw it. After reaching his apartment, he sat down at his desk and looked at the rose. Finally deciding what to do, he picked up a sharpie and wrote on his arm. I like the rose he wrote simply. Peter hoped whoever she was, saw it.

Sitting on her bed, (Y/N) felt something on her arm. She looked at her arm and saw the words “I like the rose” in a sloppy handwriting. (Y/N)’s eyes widened in surprise, she never expected to meet her soulmate this early.

Though she knew that having a soulmate must be nice, she thought she wasn’t ready for the type of life-long commitment that came with it. (Y/N) ran into her bathroom and scrubbed off the words. She would write back when she was ready, and for now, she wasn’t.

It’s been a week since Peter’s soulmate had drawn the rose, and since then he was determined to find out who she was. The girl would never respond when he wrote, and she hadn’t drawn anything since.

Deciding that the day was hot compared to most days in New York, the majority of girls wore short-sleeves. Peter quickly came up with a plan simple enough to find out if his soulmate went to his school. He was planning to draw a large dot on his arm in bright red ink so it would stand out on any skin tone.

Later that day, he saw a girl walk by him with a red dot on her arm. He quickly scrambled to see who the girl was, and it was (Y/N). He had met her once, she sat in front of him in their math class. Having his first, real look at the girl, he noticed that she was really pretty. Her smile was warm, and her laugh was genuine.

He went home that day, happy to know who his soulmate was. Once in his room, he got out his marker and wrote on his arm, deciding to have fun with the newfound knowledge. Peter simply wrote the words Hey (Y/N).

(Y/N) looked at her arm to see what it would now say, and she was shocked to see what was written. She wondered how he had figured out, but decided that there was no use in hiding anymore. She wrote a small Hey back and waited to see where it would take her.

Another week later, (Y/N) and her soulmate had become somewhat close. They talked for long periods of time so both of their arms were covered in ink, but (Y/N) still didn’t know who he was. He had given clues, but she still remained clueless.

Peter hadn’t told (Y/N) who he was yet for two reasons. For one, he was scared of what she would think. In his opinion, she was extremely out of his league; smart, funny, pretty were only a few things people could use to describe her. The second reason was just that he liked the mystery of it, but that was all going to change.

(Y/N) had agreed to meet her soulmate at a coffee shop nearby their school. She was anxious, but she knew that no matter who he may be, she was happy. He seemed really funny and smart, and she was happy to finally be able to meet him.

Showing up to the cafe, (Y/N) ordered a coffee and sat at a table near the front window. She looked down at her phone and scrolled through her Instagram feed, waiting for who her soulmate would be.

A tap on her shoulder sent her bolting upright. In front of her stood Peter Parker, holding a rose. She smiled widely and ran out of her chair. Immediately hugging him, causing them both to laugh. He handed her the rose, and when (Y/N) gave him a confused look, he said, “It was the first thing that you drew on yourself that got drawn on me.”

(Y/N) took the rose and smiled, starting a conversation. The two talked for hours, and when it got late (Y/N) looked at him and said, “I’m glad that out of all the people that could’ve been my soulmate, it was you. I mean, there are loads of assholes that go to our school, and even though you’re kind of a dork, you’re my dork.”

Peter laughed and pretended to be offended, “Well, excuse me! At least I’m not a loser like you!”

(Y/N) smiled again, she hadn’t stopped smiling since the start of the date and her cheeks ached, “But in all seriousness, I’m glad you’re my soulmate,” she said honestly.

He beamed at her and said, “I’m glad you’re my soulmate, too.”

You are the first and only writer I have read for this fandom. I love your work so much, I've re read all your Arrow stories twice (even the Firefly one even though I've never watched it). Do you have any favorite Olicity fics to recommend to keep me from going crazy my first hiatus? (I binged the first 4 seasons last year)

This is awesome!! Thank you! I’m super honored. And do I have recs? Oh yes, I have recs.

First rec isn’t actually a fic, it’s a resource… @theolicitylibrary. If you want recs, they’ve got ‘em. If you want a specific trope or rating or genre, they’ve got that, too. Have a hankering for a fic where Oliver and Felicity are business rivals? There’s a link for that. Where she’s the vigilante instead? There’s a link for that, too. Where one of them is a werewolf? Yup. They’re an amazing resource and you can lose days (and weeks and months) going through lists of alpha/omega tropes and rockstar AUs and friends-to-lovers fics.

But more specifically… how about I rec some authors, too? I haven’t been reading much lately - I spend all my time writing - so I’m more comfortable reccing authors I know are amazing and whose works I’m looking forward to catching up on. They’re all consistently excellent. This is by no means an all inclusive list.

@dust2dust34 - My co-writer for FiCoN and personal fav (though I admit to no small amount of bias). If you want smut and you want details and mining a scene for feelings, Bre is your girl. She has plenty of oneshots to choose from as well as some multichapter fics.

@machawicket - Look, I can’t overstate Danielle’s skills as a writer. My husband doesn’t even read my fic but he likes hers. Her writing is funny, sweet, sexy and heartbreaking in turn but it’ll never leave you unsatisfied. She’s a master.

@anthfan - Nikki is one of those writers that’s so good she makes you forget you’re reading a story, because it’s just something you’re living. It’s an experience. Her characterization is spot-on and her plots are super engaging. She writes both one-shots and longer stories. They’re all worth your time.

@hannasus - Susannah’s writing is the perfect balance of detailed exposition and tight narrative that lets you feel like you’ve experienced the whole setting in just a few lines. Add to that fully in-character characterization and interesting plots that keep you reading and you really can’t go wrong. I recommend reading her Something Like Fate series ASAP as she’s adapted it into the basis for an original novel (which she’s publishing later this year) and it may not be up on AO3 a whole lot longer.

@rosietwiggs - I can always tell Rosie’s work in just a few lines. Her narrative voice is so very distinctive and so gripping that it pulls me in effortlessly. I don’t believe she’s writing for Arrow anymore, but even her unfinished works are worth a read. I especially recommend The New Normal, Lengths and How The Mighty Fall In Love.

@supersillyanddorky06 - I’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard around about Matty’s writing because she’s right at the core of the Olicity fandom’s best known fanfics. With good reason. She’s prolific, plotty, smutty and evocative. If you have a weakness for Bratva!Oliver, I’d start here.

@jsevick - I first met Jaimie after reading her Jurassic Park AU (really!) and being both delighted and amazed that she could make it work. I’m extremely lucky to have had her help as my beta pretty much ever since. If you like my writing, she’s a big part of it (along with @alizziebyanyothername). While she hasn’t posted in a while, her stories are just fun and if you like Gilmore Girls, her Arrow AU for Gilmore Girls is a treat!

@realityisoverrated-fic - I have no idea how you would feel about Smoaking Billionaires, Anon (I personally love it), but I’ve got to very highly recommend her Infinite Love series. At 110 parts and counting, it deals extensively with Oliver, Felicity and Tommy’s family longterm, including their kids. It’s alternately hot, sweet, and heartbreaking. But, most of all, it’s just well-written and interesting. If you’re willing to read them as a triad, I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

@geneeste - I would pay for more of Caught a Long Wind. Quite literally. But, that aside, Genie is a top notch writer. Whether her one-shots, WiPs or brilliant, ongoing epic co-written work with @machawicket, everything she writes should be devoured.

@juliesioux - Julie uses the setting in a story as another character. There’s so much life to the world she puts her characters in that it practically breathes. Above that, she doesn’t shy away from hard topics. She will rush in head-first and dig deep to explore what her characters are going through. When you read her work, take her warnings seriously, but if you’re looking for a rich story to read that challenges you, she’s the perfect option to turn to.

@thatmasquedgirl - One of the most prolific Olicity fic authors (with 110 fics, including the absolute opus Technical Assistance). She’s consistently excellent, creative and she gives us as a fandom a whole lot to read. You can probably spent a huge chunk of hiatus happily buried in her work.

@entersomethingcleverhere - As a rule, I do not read first person stories. Not even when they’re published books sitting on shelves at my bookstore. I will break that rule for her writing. I like it that much. It’s heartfelt, moving, well-paced, and the connections between her characters are both real and evolving as you go.

@arrow-through-my-writers-block - Shelby is… well, she’s just fun! She’s a solid writer who never disappoints. She’s got quite a few one-shots and a few ongoing multi-chapters. She’s probably best known for Starstruck, but all of her work is worth reading.

@wagamiller - I just really love wagamiller’s work. Like a lot. There are very few authors I have on alert, but wagamiller is. Stories that make me laugh out loud are few and far between, but the 35B series surely did (as did @machawicket‘s Unbearable Hotness of Being, btw). Strong, sharp, witty writing that will leave you with a grin on your face.

@callistawolf - When I think of Callie’s work, I think of the fanfic version of sitting down with some hot cocoa and curling up with a warm blanket to watch a Hallmark Christmas special. She’s consistently excellent about finishing her work, which is lovely, and you can pretty much always count on a feel-good romantic ending.

@hopedreamlovepray - Writing one-shots that stick with your reader is hard. Keeping a story to 1-2k and still being impactful is even harder. She absolutely manages it every time. Hope27 (as she’s known on AO3, so you can find her) has something like a hundred Olicity fics. These are, in my opinion, absolutely perfect if you want to lose yourself in a story on the train to work or during your lunch hour.

@dettiot - Mel has a lot of great stories (like really great). My favorite is probably the “ink in my pen ran dry” series, but that’s a really tough call. Core Curriculum is super hot. The Felicity Stark series (crossover with Avengers-verse) is brilliant and fun and made me giddy while reading it. Beauty in the Breakdown is excellent. Jerry the EA series features one of the best takes on a relative OC I’ve read in fics. Love is Red made me squeal like a teenager with excitement (I’m not ashamed; it was warranted). And Two Men, Same Name (written with @melsanfo) is one of those that I am absolutely dying for the time to catch up on. While I’m at it, let’s rec Mel Sanfo, too. Her Masquerade is another novel-length fic absolutely worth a read. You really can’t go wrong with either of these ladies.

@ash818 - Ash is freaking awesome. So, here’s the thing. Her Legacy series is mind-blowingly good. I have to admit, I’ve only read The Man Under The Hood in the series (this is intentional, for a reason you’ll see in a moment, but you need to read all of her work ASAP, okay? You do). This series… you’ve got future, married Olicity with teenage children as they continue their mission. There’s action, plot, heartbreak, angst, love, everything you could want. It’s in first person from their son’s perspective which is something I would probably never have clicked on in the first place had it not come highly recommended, but good lord is it amazing. All of her characters have life. All of them have depth. Her OCs are fully formed and vital to the story without overshadowing characters you already know. I haven’t read the later stories because after I decided to continue on with FiCoN verse, I didn’t want to inadvertently shade my views on Olicity’s growing family and continuing mission with anything she did in her series. If anything I do happens to run parallel to her work, I want to know beyond any doubt that it’s 100% coincidence. But her stories are something I’m absolutely itching to get to read… eventually. Her writing is excellent.

@tinaday3w - I’m tempted to say “JUST READ IT” but that’s probably not enough… But really, just read it. No one does slow burn like Tina. Victorian era AU with pirate!Oliver? Yes, please. Hello. I’ll take two.

@emmilynestill - She’s just so good. And sooooo hot. I don’t know if you know this, Anon, but writing a good sex scene is hard. You don’t want your reader pulled out of the scene by wondering if a position is actually possible or when underwear came off (or if it did) or how gravity isn’t making them collapse. Like… smut is difficult. But it reads so effortlessly with Emmilyne’s writing. And, beyond that, she weaves it in beautifully with plot that keeps you wondering what’s next and emotion that builds and grows in an organic way. Orgasms and organic feelings. Honestly, what else could anyone really want?

@ruwithmeguys - Jess will gut you and leave you asking her to do it again. Indecent Proposal… just… read the warnings and be ready and read it with a lot of time on your hands and probably in chunks because ouch. But still… read it.

@academyofshipping - Sarah has this dry sense of humor that comes out in her fics that’s as clever as it is fun. Fluffy, funny, smart, cute and rich with feeling, Sarah’s writing is consistently strong.

@someonesaidcake - Felice is fantastic for completed, multichapter AU fics. She has quite a few and I’m pretty sure every single one included smut at some point (if that’s your thing) as well as plot.

And… I’ve spent like an hour and a half on this which was a lovely diversion for my day. I know I’m forgetting amazing people but I have to stop here. When in doubt, take the title of a fic you like, google that name in quotes along with “rec list” and find someone’s list where that story was included, then explore the others. Or, check the bookmarks on AO3 of an author you like, that’s a great place to mine for fics, too. And, again, I can’t rec @theolicitylibrary enough. That said… happy reading, Anon! We’ll get through this hiatus together… through fic and sheer force of will. ;-)

ASOUE Modern AU + The Baudelaires and the Quagmires living together in an apartment and being happy

•The Quagmires just show up at the Baudelaires’ door one day. They don’t like to talk about whatever happened in The Great Unknown, and the Baudelaires don’t ask. They just sort of settle in.

•They have one bookshelf but G-d knows it doesn’t hold all of them. Isadora keeps her poetry books in a box under the bed in the room she shares with Violet, Beatrice, and Sunny. Klaus keeps various books everywhere, under the couch cushions, in the cupboards with the plates, everywhere. Violet acts like she minds it, and tries to get Klaus to clean them up once in a while, but secretly she enjoys it. She’s never enjoyed libraries as much as her brother, but after libraries saved her more than a few times, she found that she didn’t quite mind that her whole home has become one.

•Sunny starts kindergarten that year, and Violet feels uneasy leaving her with someone else. But she has a job now, in a local garage, and she’s suddenly busy with carburetors and jumper cables and her coworkers who always have a funny story to tell about their kids. Klaus and Duncan and Quigley and Isadora are all in their last years of high school, but they have after school jobs as well. Violet gets her GED online, and she gets out of work early enough to pick Beatrice up from Pre-School every day. They fall into something of a routine.

•The days are easy, but the nights are a little harder. Violet can sometimes hear the boys cry out in the other room, the sounds of a night terror leaving them, some unknown monster that they’re fighting in their own minds. Duncan sleepwalks on the worst nights and Violet gently guides him back to bed. Isadora never cries out, she just whimpers and shifts in her bed, but Violet always wakes up anyways. Sunny doesn’t get them. Beatrice murmers for her mother in her sleep.

•The apartment always fills with the smell of Sunny’s cooking. Her flair for food only grows as she gets older. On Passover, the Quagmires’ first with the Baudelaires, they sit down at their table with the Seder plate in the middle and the Afikomen hidden somewhere amongst the clutter of their apartment. Violet immediately picks out the smells of different foods, like the Gefilte fish and the Maror, but mostly she smells the Matzo Ball Soup and her eyes fill with tears as she remembers her mother’s and how it never failed to warm her up in the rainy month of April.

•Violet sits on the fire escape with Quigley, her hand in his, as they look down at the alley below them. She remembers a moment, forever ago, when they sat on a similar ledge and watched the moonlight glisten on the snow-topped mountains. “It’s a very lovely view,” Violet says, only once more. “Very lovely indeed,” was the reply. Violet realized then that he wasn’t looking at the alley.

•Life for the Baudelaire-Quagmire family is crazy. It’s all spilled coffee and dog-eared pages and lost socks and nights spent in a pile on the couch and school projects and helping hands and fire escapes and everything that they always wanted for themselves. It’s home, and they’re still getting used to having one again. But the best part about it, is that it’s the easiest thing they’ve done in a long time, and bad memories are almost forgotten.

anonymous asked:

How do you write without cringing at your own work? After writing a few sentences I usually give up because I'm cringing so hard ...

I have a few tricks!

One is to copy an author’s style for the first paragraph or so, one that fits the tone of the story. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Di could handle that particular duality; it was the vampires that she was having trouble with.” That way you can’t really cringe, it’s a popular beginning!

Two is to give my first few paragraphs a very funny narrator. “The vampires” (because when are there not vampires) “were giving Di” (a simple name for someone who’d like to see themselves as quite complicated) “a lot of trouble” (Which, as we’ll see, is something Di receives from vampires and otherwise quite a lot).

This keeps you interested in reading your own work while also finding the depth/various angles you have. I find a lot of cringe comes from shallow story telling, so you just got to keep in mind that this is your story and is actually quite complex!

Three is to lean into the cringe. “Di stood looking over the embattled warehouse, long coat swirling around her ankles. Below, a writhing mass of five vampires snapped their teeth at one another, totally oblivious to her looming presence. War is hell, she thinks and jumps.”

Look, it’s fun to write ridiculous, over the top characters. It’s really fun to write all the little stories (starring you!) that unfolded during a particularly boring lecture. And you know what? A lot of people like reading ridiculous stories!

Four is to do with poor sentence construction. Some days it’s really hard to write a coherent story and you end up looking at what you do put down with an over critical eye. DON’T ERASE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! On those days, I take my choppy, no good, very cringe-y paragraphs and put them in my “Graveyard” folder. My Graveyard folder is every opening, scene, and character description that makes me cringe. Once it’s in there, I rewrite it for the actual story and then wait a few days. When I feel capable of looking at it again, I compare the rewrite to the original in the Graveyard and use the one I want.

Surprise, surprise, generally it’s the Graveyard opening I like!

So Don’t Fear the Cringe, dear anon! That means it’s working!

It was the 4th time this week, you had no idea how but he kept surpassing you in every field. It irritated you to no end. Usually he only did better at certain subjects you were good at as well and considered that he was just lucky but somehow he got so much better in just a few months. You were about done with his shit and just flipped him off, collected your things and went to the door.

“Miss Y/N, where do you think you’re going?” he asked you teasingly before the professor could even react you were out of your seat.

“You’re the last person I would tell,” you said and went outside, you turned to the stairs that led to the roof. At least you could relax here. You leaned on the railing and took out your paper. 96%. How he manages to get a perfect 100 each time was beyond you. You sighed. As much as you hated him you couldn’t deny that he was captivating in every aspect. Well they do say that opposites attract.

“Are you thinking about me?” Yuta asked leaning on the railing near you.

“Yeah right,” you thought.

“96, that’s not bad,” you knew that but hearing this from him didn’t cheer you up at all. You quickly ripped the paper in shreds and threw them out.

“Littering is a bad habit,” but you just rolled your eyes to that.

“What do you want?”

“Here,” he said handing you his paper. “Read it.”

“I’m not interested.”

“Just take it and read it so you would know why I’m better than you,” he laughed. You snatched the paper out of his hand. You were surprised he actually chose the subject of human emotions for this psychology class. Bla bla bla, you had no idea why he gave it to you. Probably to show off as always but your eyes stopped at the very last sentence. “When you love someone, you don’t just stop. Ever. Even when people roll their eyes or call you crazy… even then. Especially then!” You couldn’t believe how much you could relate to it, immediately remembering all the times you complained about him to your best friend, only to shower him with compliments a few minutes later.

“Just confess already, if you like him that much,” she told you one day and now you couldn’t help but smile remembering this.

“What’s so funny?” he asked you. You completely forgot he was here, you had to come up with something fast.

“This,” you pointed at the paper. “I like what you wrote here!”

“Which part? Let me see,” he said taking his essay. “Oh this one, I remember it. I had you in mind when I wrote it.”

“What?”

“What?.. Did I? Did I just said that out loud?” he still had no idea what happened.

“You like me~” you teased him, snatching the paper out of his hand.

“No no no, I actually meant to say that I was thinking about you,” but then he realized what he just said. “Oh shit I just repeated it again.”

“You can’t even come up with decent excuses,” you laughed.

“Y/N give me the papers.” he said trying to take them from you.

“Make me,” you chuckled and ran to the stairs.

“Y/N!!” he shouted. “Aish, I hate how much I like her,” he thought running after you.

Everyone give Ash London some love… as an aussie i fully admit a lot of our interviews with the boys are so cringey cos they just go off the public personas and images of each of them and you can tell they’re not really fans and are just asking the standard questions which we’ve heard the answers to a million times and the boys are probably sick of answering the same way a million times as well… apart from a few like smallzy and of course our man angus o’laughlin.. but Ash was so awesome with Harry… she was funny and lighthearted but you could tell shes really a fan Harry… she made him feel comfortable and asked him questions that no one had asked before which then made him give us answers we’ve never heard before. I think thats SO important for someone who is doing an interview, for the guest and for their fans. It was a pleasure listening to her interview and i really appreciated the respect she had for Harry…. so yeah. i just think she deserves some love. :)

So at the start of each year we take class pictures and a few months later we get the school yearbook and our school does this thing where you get like 30 miniature versions of your own picture as stickers (about palm sized) to give to your class mates so they can stick them into their yearbooks as a reminder or something. Well at the time we had this exchange student in my class for a whole year and she had her pictures taken too fast forward a few days and the whole school was littered with those palm sized stickers of her on each door on the ceiling everywhere. the crazy thing was you only get 30 of those to give to your classmates and there were hundreds around the school , meaning someone went to a copystore with one of their given stickers and made more. After one year she left but some of the pictures still hang there

I know I’m repeating myself. I know I’ve made almost this exact post before, but it would have been completely possible to include Sarah in the stage version of newsies without adding more than one minute of stage time, or hiring an extra actor.

Step one: You know how Les mentions his mom to Jack? One more line: “We’ve got a sister too!” Cue Davey looking exasperated that Les still hasn’t noticed the whole family thing is a sensitive topic. Les comes off as even more cute and funny.

Step Two: Let one of the female ensemble, who don’t get enough to do, come on as Sarah during Once and For All. Davey introduces her after Katherine introduces Darcy and Bill. She helps print the Newsies Banner alongside them.

Step Three: Give her a few lines about how she believes in the cause.

Second Chance - Part Four

I will never be able to get over the responses I’ve been getting to this story. If I could, I would hug all of you for your comments, your messages, all of it. I’ve decided I’m gonna try to make Sundays update days, so I have enough time to work on each next chunk the way I really want to, and then so @sannvers has enough time to proofread them. Thank you for your patience, and I hope you like chunk four! Let me know if you’d like to be added to the tag list!

The Night Court (and friends) at the beach

This ended up longer than planned. Please bare with me, as this was written in the car while my family and I drive from Texas to Florida. Enjoy!

Mor: Suntans all day long; nothing can get this sun kissed goddess out of the sun (except for food maybe); admires all the pretty people on the beach (herself included)

Amren: naps under the umbrella like a cat; magics in a chaise lounge because a towel is not good enough; Cassian throws her in the ocean and nearly loses his arm because of it; she grudgingly gives in to building a sand castle at Varian’s pouting

Varian: He LOVES sand castles and is secretly a champ at it, he and Amren make a seven foot tall sandcastle around Cassian while he is napping and seal him inside; he proudly names it “Amren’s revenge”

Tarquin: Shows off by turning into a giant fish creature and diving beneath the waves as soon as they arrive (we don’t know what his beast mode is so I’m going with some kind of fishy-sea creature)

Feyre: Wants to do it all—volleyball, swimming, surfing, soaring over the seas, you name it; scares the shit out of Rhys by shape-shifting into a great white shark, and Fish-Tarquin takes her to go see the coral reefs and underwater caves

Rhys: He may be the High Lord of night, but he looks damn good in the sunlight; he and Feyre destroy his brothers in beach volleyball, and he is delighted at her competitive side; simply enjoys being with his family, and is overwhelmed by how lucky he is that he was given a second chance; ends the day by taking a sunset stroll hand-in-hand down the beach with his High Lady

Cassian: nearly combusts at the sight of Nesta in a bikini, and can’t keep his eyes off of her (Feyre winks at him and he vows to thank her later for giving her the suit); claims that Rhys and Feyre cheated and only won at volleyball bc they can speak mind to mind (but he’s really just a sore loser), also swears that Azriel missed the ball on purpose; after waking up in his sand castle tomb, he now knows never to accept a dare from Nesta. But he also knows that he will continue to do so anyways.

Nesta: Quiet and distant at first, choosing to sit by the shore and let the water rush over her feet while she took everything in; laughs at Cassian’s tantrum when he loses the volleyball match; when Cassian comes to sit by her she surprises both of them by wrapping her arms around his neck and crawling into his lap; “I want to see it all. From the air. Will you fly me, Cass?”; “Do you trust me?” he whispered in her ear, and she shivered. She merely nodded. Cassian took her hands and lowered her slowly, sliding her off his sweat-slick body until she was hanging vertical. He continued to descend, those massive bat wings straightening into a glide, and finally her feet dipped into the warm waves. Nesta couldn’t help the low laugh that escaped her lips from the thrill of their stunt, and she grinned up at hazel eyes filled with wonder. Too quickly they were once again rising, the salty breeze causing her body to sway. But she was not finished. “Drop me.” He did the opposite. Cassian pulled her up until they were face to face, the muscles beneath his bronze skin tensing. He raised a dark brow at her. Feeling daring, she leaned into him, grazing his stubbled cheek with her lips, and whispered seductively in his ear, “I said drop me Cassian.” And just because she could, she bit his ear lobe in emphasis. She felt the breath whoosh out of him, and he pulled his head back once again, her body heating as she met those hazel eyes full of mischief and desire. Her gaze dropped to those full lips as they parted, and Cassian, voice husky, simply said,“ As you wish, Nes.” And then she was falling. Her vision was a blur of azure blue skies and turquoise waters as she plummeted toward the sea, her screams coming in a steady torrent until she finally plunged feet first into the ocean. Nesta’s heart was thrumming with joy as she continued to sink in a cloud of white bubbles. A blur of silver circled in the shadows beneath her, and she could have sworn that the shark winked at her. Ignoring it, she swam hard for the surface, and the Illyrian she knew would be waiting for her. Her head barely crested the surface and then massive hands were yanking her out, cocooning her into a broad, sculpted chest. “Nesta, Nesta I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have dropped you, you could have been hurt—” Nesta covered his lips with her slender fingers before he could go on. “Again.” Her voice was breathless. Cassian’s eyes grew wide in surprise at her request, scanning her face closely. The joy she knew he found there must have been enough to convince Cassian that she was indeed fine, as he finally beat those wings into a steady climb. He kissed her forehead. “Daredevil.” “Brute.”; It was Nesta who later dared Cassian to drop Amren in the ocean, but she willingly lets him take the fall and get buried beneath Amren and Varian’s sand castle

Elain: doesn’t really like the water and decides to go looking for sea shells instead; pretends not to notice that Azriel and Lucien have turned sea shell hunting into a competition

Azriel: admits to missing the ball a few times simply because he thinks it’s funny how angry Cassian gets when he loses; sunbathes with Mor and gossips about their friends and the other courts (she finally told him that she doesn’t love him like that and now they’re just best friends); “Elain, look at this one” picks out an iridescent blue and purple shell the size of his palm (he actually found it 200 years ago and has kept it ever since), Elain beams up at him and he smirks at Lucien, who is face palming

Lucien: wishes for the cool, crisp air of the Autumn court or even the mild temperate of Spring, anything but this brutal, humid heat, but he refuses to complain in front of Elain; enjoys fishing on the shore until he reels in Feyre-the-shark (who grins at him with those wicked sharp teeth and plunges back into the surf); damn him if he doesn’t find the perfect shell for his mate, he would make her a crown of shells…

Both Azriel and Lucien: Sighing in disappointment when Feyre tops them and brings Elain a pearl after returning from her adventures with Tarquin, but melting at the sheer wonder on her face

Bonus:
Feyre- “Damn it Mor, for the last time this isn’t a nude beach!”
Mor- *winks “But it could be.”

Still not quite sure where the Nessian came from, but I enjoyed it! :)

Everything was going as planned. Mr. And Mrs. Matthews, as well as Auggie, reluctantly agreed to be out of the house when Riley’s prom date arrived to pick her up but only with the promise that she take a million pictures of them, and her friends, together once they got there. Of course that didn’t stop either of them from snapping away as she got ready for the big dance.

Topanga got candid shots of her getting dressed and Cory made her pose for pictures in her pj’s but with her hair all done up and a full face of make up on. It was exactly how she imagined it would be when she was younger. The major difference being back then she always envisioned her girls getting ready with her too. She never thought she’d be sitting in her room alone, sad music playing in the background as she blended out her eyeshadow.

“What happened?” Jaal asks, barely keeping the question from becoming a demand.

“Oh, well, long story short, our date night got cancelled because Peebee decided my time was better spent in a fucking volcano.”

What.”

(Jaal/Gemma Ryder, spoilers for both Jaal and Peebee’s loyalty missions, as well as the Jaal romance.)

Jian Yi’s phone chimed.

‘I’m going to go assure the new bouncer that Zhengxi isn’t here on a bust. I’ll be right back.’

Mo Guan Shan and Janie nodded.

‘Thank god he won’t be finding the opium den in the back, right?’ Mo Guan Shan joked.

‘No opiates, but they’d probably be pissed about Julio’s stash.’

‘Of opium?’ He asked in surprise.

She laughed.

‘No opium. He mostly just deals weed and hallucinogens in the back.’

‘I…can’t tell if you’re joking.’

‘Not at all.’ She assured him.

‘He’s one of the only reasons we keep this place running.’

‘You have an onsite drug dealer?’

She smiled, pouring two more drinks.

‘How long have you been here?’

‘In Las Vegas?’ He asked.

‘Yes. In Las Vegas.’

‘Oh…a little over two months.’

‘You’ve been here for two months and we haven’t met you?!’ She demanded.

‘I just met He Tian on Monday.’

She handed out the drinks she’d been making and stood in front of him again.

‘You MET him on Monday?’

‘Yes.’

‘Like…last Monday?’

‘Yes.’

‘Seven days ago?’

‘…Yes.’

She studied him intently.

‘All jokes aside, how the fuck did you…’ She gestured in the direction He Tian had left, at a loss.

‘I honestly don’t know. It’s only just setting in how weird it apparently is.’

‘Even with-’

‘Even with Jian Yi and Zhengxi, yeah.’ He finished for her.

She furrowed her brow, turning away to take orders, continuing the conversation immediately when she came back.

‘Did you guys meet on a dating site or something?’

Mo Guan Shan laughed.

‘No, he just stumbled upon me.’

‘That’s crazy.’

He understood her confusion it seemed pretty normal at this point, but it was starting to get to him.

Mo Guan Shan wasn’t necessarily an insecure person, but…damn.

‘Am I not good enough for him, or something?’ He asked, trying to keep any bitterness out of his tone.’

She paled.

‘No, no, no that is NOT what I meant! I didn’t mean to-’

He held a hand up to silence her.

‘It’s ok, I’m just trying to figure it out.’

‘I mean…I can tell you if you actually want to hear it.’

‘I do.’

Did he?

‘I don’t want you to stop liking him or anything…’

‘Don’t worry about that.’

She nodded, taking few more orders before pulling her own stool up behind the bar.

‘Alright. Well, I was one of the first people he hired. I’ve been here since it opened and I, like everyone, totally fell for him. I mean, he’s smart and funny, and one of the most attractive people I’ve ever seen…’

Mo Guan Shan nodded.

All true.

‘Please keep in mind that I was barely 21 at this point and thought I was just the shit.’

Mo Guan Shan smiled.

She looked away.

‘So I…tried to get with him.’

‘…’

‘He didn’t go for it. Turned me down immediately and never brought it up again.’

Mo Guan Shan nodded, encouraging her to continue.

‘Well, I was pretty insecure at the time from a few weird situations and assumed…’ She trailed off.

‘Assumed…’ Mo Guan Shan prompted.

‘I assumed he wasn’t into black girls. I know now that it was a ridiculous conclusion and I really hurt his feelings when I accused him.’

‘Alright, so he wasn’t into the girls he hired?’ Mo Guan Shan asked.

‘Nope. He’s always been a perfect gentleman with his employees. So, for awhile, we all assumed he was just a really nice guy.’

‘Maybe he just wanted his relationships to be private?’ Mo Guan Shan suggested, already knowing that wasn’t the case.

‘I don’t know, man. He’s here LITERALLY all the time. There was no way he could find time to keep up a healthy relationship.’

‘So, you realized you were wrong? About the gentleman part?’

The nodded, looking around to make sure no one was listening in.

‘Yeah. When business started to pick up, he went home with someone new on a regular basis. Mostly men but a there were some women in there too. It wasn’t a big deal, it’s not like he’s the only one that does it.’

‘I’m not seeing your point here.’

‘My point is, it’s odd to know someone for years and never see them even go home with the same person twice. So, you can imagine how odd it seems.’

Mo Guan Shan found he had no response to that.

She continued.

‘These last few days are the longest He’s ever been gone. A few of us honestly thought something awful had happened. Jian Yi had to come in and set the record straight.’

‘What did Jian Yi say?’

‘That he was on vacation. Which sounded like total bullshit.’

‘Why?’

She regarded him skeptically.

‘God, you really did just meet him. He’s not really the VACATION type. He won’t even take two days off in a row. He gives us all the holidays off and handles everything alone. It’s insane.’

‘Jesus.’

‘Yeah. So, since Monday, he’s only been here a few times and was clearly itching to leave. And then he up and leaves for several days. And then comes back with some mystery man. Tell me that’s wouldn’t surprise you.’

‘You’re right, I’m sure it would.’ Mo Guan Shan agreed.

‘Has he been with you the whole time?’ Janie asked.

Mo Guan Shan thought about that for a moment.

‘With the exception of a few hours here and there, yeah.’

Her expression was difficult to read.

‘Are you an asshole?’ She asked seriously.

‘Not… to my knowledge. Why?’

‘Because I don’t know how to give the if-you-hurt-him speech.’

Mo Guan Shan smiled.

‘Consider it given.’

They regarded each other in silence.

She turned away to take a few more orders.

He finished his drink.

She brought him a beer.

‘What happened to Jian Yi?’ He asked.

She nodded to his right.

Jian Yi was leaning against the wall a few feet away from the door.

Zhengxi propped himself up with a hand next to Jian Yi’s head.

The pose would normally be construed as intimate, but Zhengxi’s uniform made it look vaguely threatening.

People were watching them uncomfortably.

Honestly, it was hilarious.

Mo Guan Shan pulled his phone from his pocket, typing out a quick text.

Seconds later, Jian Yi pulled his from his pocket and began to laugh, holding the phone for Zhengxi to see.

They both looked to Mo Guan Shan.

Zhengxi took Jian Yi in his arms, kissing him passionately.

The audience they’d gathered applauded.

Jian Yi bowed.

Zhengxi laughed, embarrassed but ever indulgent.

‘Are you going to be working here?’ Janie asked suddenly.

‘I think so, yeah.’

‘What are you going to be doing?’

‘I’m not sure.’

‘Come be a bartender!’ She suggested excitedly.

‘I tried that once. It did not go well.’

‘Well that’s because you weren’t trained by me.’

He hesitated.

‘I actually have no idea what he has planned for me.’

‘If you have a choice, promise you’ll come bartend with me.’

‘Why would you even want me to?’ He asked, honestly baffled.

‘Oh, let’s see…’ she began sarcastically.

‘So far, you seem have a great attitude, fantastic sense of humor, and you’re absolutely gorgeous…’

‘All good points.’ Came a voice from behind him.

‘He Tian! Please tell me he’s going to be a bartender! Look at all the trouble he’s already caused. He’s perfect!’

He Tian laughed.

‘While his penchant to start trouble becomes him, I have a few positions he can choose from-’

‘And one of them is bartender?!’ She demanded.

‘Yes, Jane. One of them is bartender. Get back to work.’

She saluted him, turning back to her customers.

He Tian led him to a small office in the back of the bar.

He Tian sat behind the desk.

Mo Guan Shan sat in one of the uncomfortable chairs across from him.

He Tian sorted through one of the many stacks of paper.

‘I am just now remembering that I don’t have your resume or any paperwork for you and this is completely pointless.’

‘Oh…I can pull my resume up online if you want, but none of my past jobs are remotely related.’

‘We can pretend you did that.’

‘I can give you some references…’

‘We can pretend you did that also.’

Mo Guan Shan nodded.

‘That works for me.’

‘Alright, what I need is…I don’t want to call it… I haven’t been actively trying to hire anyone because…’

‘Dude.’

‘I need an assistant. Not like someone to bring me coffee, just someone that can talk to my employees without making them cry. Try as I might, that is not my strong suit and everyone that works here is either an asshole or crazy.’

‘Why me?’

‘Well, everyone I’ve introduced you to seems to adore you right off the bat and, so far, you’re only outwardly cruel to me.’

‘You’re not going to say I’m not crazy.’

‘No. I’m pretty sure you’re out of your mind.’

‘That’s fair. So what does the position entail?’

‘Mostly just helping me keep track of paperwork and bills, reminding me to do things I promised to do, talking to people for me. Stuff like that. Technically it’s filed under ‘manager’ so you’d be getting a manager’s pay as well as benefits after a month.’

‘I’ll take it.’ Mo Guan Shan told him with a small smile.

‘Really? You don’t want to think about it first?’

‘Nope, I’m in.’

He Tian could stop his smile as he passed Mo Guan Shan some papers to sign.

‘When do I start?’

‘It’s a salaried position, so technically…’

He took the papers from Mo Guan Shan and finished up his own signatures.

‘…right now.’

Mo Guan Shan stood and walked behind the desk.

He Tian was expecting a hug or a handshake or some other of gesture of gratitude.

Instead, he stopped directly in front of him.

He Tian sat back in his chair, wishing he’d bought one with wheels so he could more easily put some distance between them.

Mo Guan Shan leaned back against the desk.

‘So, this is the part where I do you some kind of sexual favor, right?’ He asked as casually as one would ask about the weather.

He Tian closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again.

‘Unfortunately, no.’

Mo Guan Shan smiled, stretching his arms above his head

‘Too bad, maybe next time.’

He Tian looked down at the strip of exposed shit between his jeans and shirt, catching a glimpse of silver where his pants had started to slip.

Oh fuck.

‘I thought you said you weren’t going to wear those.’

Mo Guan Shan lowered his arms, looking down at He Tian and following his gaze.

He lifted the front of his shirt again, slowly unbuttoning his jeans and pulling them to expose enough of the garment to confirm He Tian’s suspicions.

‘These?’ he asked innocently.

‘Yes. Those.’

He Tian’s voice was strained and rough.

He knew he should look away.

He should stand up and walk out of the office…

‘No, I said I wouldn’t wear the sequined ones. These are just silver.’

He Tian was at a complete, desperate, loss as Mo Guan Shan toyed with the waistband of his thong.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

He Tian moved forward in the chair, spreading his legs to get as close to Mo Guan Shan as possible.

He put one hand on his thigh, using the other to pull the front of the ridiculous underwear and placed several wet, open-mouthed, kisses from the hollow of his hip to the crease of his thigh, shivering at the sensation of smooth skin under his tongue.

He shaved.

Of-fucking-course he did.

‘Oh my God.’ Mo Guan Shan whispered, running his fingers through his dark, silky hair.’

He Tian froze, pulling back suddenly.

Mo Guan Shan was beautifully flushed and practically panting.

‘Why are you doing this to me?’ He Tian asked with a groan.

Mo Guan Shan adjusted himself, fixed his jeans, and leaned forward, bracing himself on the back of He Tian’s chair and whispered in his ear.

Oblivion

(a Bucky drabble)

I have two stories to finish, instead I just sat down for a couple of hours and wrote this in one sitting. Muses are so weird.

Warnings: mentions of violence and death

This one is quite heavy on the feels, I don’t know where it came from but it wrecked me a little. I wrote this in one go which is unusual for me so if you see any mistakes please let me know!

Oblivion

(Oblivion: the act or an instance of forgetting; total forgetfulness: sought the great oblivion of sleep.)

He would never belong to her, she became more painfully aware of that every night when she crawled into bed next to him.

They say wounded people recognize each other, that their souls connect on another level, she never believed any of that.

But with him she had seen his soul from the first time she laid eyes on him, all of it, every guilt-ridden inch.

He was so beautiful and pure, and tormented, much like her. And yet so very different.
