this was actually the one i wanted to post

I don’t want female characters written as eternal victims (even when they do things which are frankly appalling) and then to be expected to subscribe to that point of view or else be a misogynist myself. When will female characters in media be treated like ACTUAL flawed people and be held accountable within the narrative instead of always being written as saints and nurturers and poor little girls who have never made a mistake in their lives.

Just give me three-dimensional, flawed female characters. PLEASE.

I DID IT. I DREW THE HOLY TRINITY.

I drew them as chibi successfully with their outfits from BNHA’s ending 3 ! I actually wanted to make them as charms and kind of sell them (maybe via instagram?) but the problem is that I don’t know how to make charms and I don’t know which company I should contact in order to make clear acrylic charms ^^; Well, I’m just considering the thought but yeah.

Anyways tada! I feel very accomplished right now.

I didn’t place my signature here, but it’ll be present in the one i’ll post on my deviantart :p

I don’t make much of an effort to hide the fact that I’m a book person first and a show watcher (a very, very distant) second. My sense of the characters are almost completely informed by the book series. I’ve started a number of posts this week to lay out my opinions on the premiere but abandoned them all. Frankly, there are people who love the show and do a much better job of analyzing the jonsa/northern scenes better than I can or will. I deliberately avoided adding my thoughts to the mix for a variety of reasons, I don’t think anyone wants to hear them, tbh.

Actually, I will say one thing on Sansa. Wylla Manderly is loved in the fandom for speaking out, even against the orders of her liege lord. Sansa largely received a negative reaction for doing the exact same thing. Hmmmm…maybe it is about Sansa after all?

I have been thinking on the character of Lyanna Mormont quite a bit as I’ve seen a number of posts in my feed talking about her. She bothers me and I think I’ve finally realized why. There is a character who appears in the fifth book for all of a single chapter, Wylla Manderly. She gives a speech that I suspect most readers found to be incredibly moving. It brought tears to my eyes the first time I read it, it’s a fist pumping moment for sure. But, that’s not what makes what she does so great.

To lay the scene, Davos is appealing to Lord Manderly for aid and he is completely alone, surrounded by Freys and Manderly men-at-arms. He’s failing and he knows it.  All of this occurs in Davos III, aDwD:

Here is Davos:

Davos felt a stab of despair. His Grace should have sent another man, a lord or knight or maester, someone who could speak for him without tripping on his own tongue. “Death,” he heard himself say, “there will be death, aye. Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!”

Now, it’s important to note what’s happening here. Davos is alone, he is without support or ally. He’s trying to do the right thing and he’s failing but that does not matter. He is still trying. So, who speaks in his favor:

“Yes,” piped a girl’s voice, thin and high.It belonged to the half-grown child with the blond eyebrows and the long green braid. “They killed Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn and King Robb,” she said. “He was our king! He was brave and good, and the Freys murdered him. If Lord Stannis will avenge him, we should join Lord Stannis.”

She speaks and what support does she get:

Manderly pulled her close. “Wylla, every time you open your mouth you make me want to send you to the silent sisters.”

“I only said—”“We heard what you said,” said the older girl, her sister. “A child’s foolishness. Speak no ill of our friends of Frey. One of them will be your lord and husband soon.”“No,” the girl declared, shaking her head. “I won’t. I won’t ever. They killed the king.”

Lord Wyman flushed. “You will. When the appointed day arrives, you will speak your wedding vows, else you will join the silent sisters and never speak again.“The poor girl looked stricken. "Grandfather, please …”

“Hush, child,” said Lady Leona. “You heard your lord grandfather. Hush! You know nothing.”

Wylla Manderly is told to she is foolish, that she should stop talking. She is told that her choice is to marry a Frey or be sent to the silent sisters. But, Wylla Manderly continues on:

“I know about the promise,” insisted the girl. “Maester Theomore, tell them! A thousand years before the Conquest, a promise was made, and oaths were sworn in the Wolf’s Den before the old gods and the new. When we were sore beset and friendless, hounded from our homes and in peril of our lives, the wolves took us in and nourished us and protected us against our enemies. The city is built upon the land they gave us. In return we swore that we should always be their men. Stark men!”

But, Wylla does not get support from the maester:

The maester fingered the chain about his neck. “Solemn oaths were sworn to the Starks of Winterfell, aye. But Winterfell has fallen and House Stark has been extinguished.”

Yet, she continues:

“That’s because they killed them all!”

After this, Rhaegar Frey speaks up and Wylla challenges him too. They have a short back and forth where she calls him out. Her grandfather, Lord Wyman appears to be agreeing with Frey but she calls him out in open court:

“They weren’t.” Wylla Manderly stamped her foot.

“Be quiet, wretched child,” scolded Lady Leona. “Young girls should be an ornament to the eye, not an ache in the ear.” She seized the girl by her braid and pulled her squealing from the hall. There went my only friend in this hall, thought Davos.

Wylla Manderly does not appear again in the series, this is the one and only time we see her. So why did Martin take the time to put this exchange in here? After all, she doesn’t change the outcome, she doesn’t change any minds. In fact, if she had kept quiet or never appeared at all, the story could have continued on as it does. So why? Well, Brienne tells us:

“Seven, Brienne thought again, despairing. She had no chance against seven, she knew. No chance, and no choice.”

- Brienne VII, aFfC

Five words and Brienne gets at one of the central themes of the entire series. That is what Martin is telling the readers, it’s what he is hammering at us with from Ned’s death all the way to the Ides of Marsh. Do What is Right. Even when it is hard, even when you stand alone, even when you know you are going to fail. Ultimately, that’s what makes Wyllla Manderly and her scene so powerful, it’s why Martin put her in there. Yeah, she’s a total bad-ass who speaks the truth, like Lyanna Mormont. But, she did it when she was alone, she did it when no one agreed, when she had no support. Even though she failed, she still had no choice but to speak. Wylla Manderly mattered because she failed.

So, I compare the two characters, both young girls, both bad ass in their won way. But, only one really gets to the heart of Martin’s message and I’ll take her every time. And that’s my struggle.

I suspect some will come to the conclusion I’m thinking on this way too hard and that’s fine. I’m a book nerd and I pick this series apart, it’s what I do.

So I’ve been binge watching YouTube lately and a lot of the lovely people on there suggested the Crayola Super Tips Markers to be a good starter for those wanting to get into learning calligraphy especially in a decorative way.

I for one am not too sure whether I’ll actually use them for decorative calligraphy but I’ll keep you guys posted. Will definitely post a review regarding the product.

snb:vs ep15: the return of the fallen angel brothers

(aka no, they’re not actually brothers, and no, they still haven’t shared a scene)

This took me a bit long to write bcs mostly I just want to !!!! and scream giddily for their every scene so uh sorry about that.

I promise I’ll try to be coherent. /ahem

Like the title suggests, this post will focus only on azazel and lucifer.

you're legit being overdramatic, no one stans Jin just for his money. If you ever thought that was true for a second then you need a reality check

Am I allowed to express myself lol? I can post whatever I want and I’m allowed to post about this matter, because y'all might think it’s nothing but its actually happening :/ and ppl have suddenly given so much attention to Jin just because of his status . I’ve seen a bunch of ppl talking on twitter about a fansite changing their entire header and stuff from the entire group to jin alone, after the “ceo” incident :/ and there was even more ppl talking about this on youtube in the comment sections. This is why I made that post, but you ppl need to chill lol I’m allowed to share opinions on my personal blog. It’s not like anyone is dead after I made that post. I made it because I care about all of the members and seeing these things happening on social media , made me write it….
Have a nice day too.

I want to thank you for your recent post. You know the one. I left my last husband, but even as I ran from him, found avenues through which I could safely escape, I still didn't realize what I was running from. If anyone who helped me did, they didn't say so. I gave up a marriage; a child; a huge portion of who I was. I didn't actually realize what was/had happened until years later. (1 of 2, Kiki)

@radioactiveferret

[The post mentioned above]

Hi sweetie, I want to give you a big hug – if that’s okay? No need to reply, if you don’t want, but I want you to know that my arms are open for hugs, my ears are open for talking, my ask box and PM are both open…

You are not alone.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I am so sorry that you experienced that, but it seems like you feel freer now? I know I do, even though there are plenty of things that are troubling me, that I have to do, that I can’t stop worrying about… I’m still more free than I was before.

Abuse doesn’t come in one size. It comes in many sizes, and sometimes you can talk yourself into – or friends and family or in-laws can talk you into – believing that it’s all in your head. That you’re just being too sensitive and if only you changed just this little bit, bent this direction so as to avoid a fight… if only you changed, maybe things would be better for you

No.

As soon as you go down that road… You know. I know you know. I know now. I even knew for months, even years, maybe even before I married him… but there are so many men and women out there who don’t know that they are being abused. It’s sad, and we can only make things better by being aware of it, and helping where we can.

But sometimes our friends, or us when we want to help others in our same situation… sometimes they can push too far.

I was lucky in that I had @perrydowning for a lot of this journey. She was certainly there for me during the final leg of my relationship. She pushed just enough, and let me realize a lot of things for myself. She listened to me when I wanted her to step back, and was there for me when I asked her to step up more. But I had a lot of other friends who pushed way too hard when I didn’t want them to, and I stopped confiding in them. Not as much as before, at least. And that sucked!! I wanted my friends and family to be there for me (yeah, I even stopped telling my parents how I felt because they were so judgmental, as much as I love them).

Maybe your friends and family were worried about stepping in; about pushing too much. About alienating you. I don’t know. I don’t know your situation. But maybe. There are a lot of maybes in these situations. =/

It suuuuuuucks. No matter which way you slice it. It’s messy. It hurts. Even if you’ve been gone for years, that moment you realize, that moment it clicks, like you said… it’s eye-opening, but it sucks.

*offers hugs again*

Anyway. Ugh. This is a huge rambling answer where I’m just sort of offering platitudes and commiseration and hugs and half-commenting on things I really don’t know enough about except for my own general awareness and experience.

All this is to say, in response to you sharing your story:

You are so strong for sharing, and for realizing what happened. I’m here for you, as are so many others. You are brave. Never forget that. Thank you for sharing, and you are welcome for me sharing… but truly, it’s me who should be thanking you. <3

Did you end up finding who you were again? Did you find happiness?

Even if not… you are so strong for having taken that step, even when you didn’t know what was happening right then, and especially because you had so little help… you are so strong and brave and thank you for sharing with me. (But I wish that you had never had to experience that pain… I am so sorry. <3)

Much love.

Much love to all of you.

Realizing Romance (Part One)

Alright, so here’s the first chapter of the thing I was talking about in this post. I’ve actually been working on this chapter for a few days so that’s why it’s here so soon. Please leave me some feedback. Also, I know, the neighbor is basically me but a girl, I don’t care. Her sides are more important here! Enjoy!

~~~~~~~
After finally finding out Anxiety’s real name and accepting the fact that he can be helpful in many cases, things in Thomas’s mind had relaxed quite a bit. And that got boring. Fast. There was no dilemma to solve since then for some reason and it was driving Logan insane. Patton was quickly tiring of doing the same things every day. The lack of exciting new opportunities was boring Roman to death. And with nothing new, Virgil had no need to warn Thomas of anything. That all changed one day when Thomas spotted a moving van parked in front of the house next door.
“Patton!” Thomas shouted, summoning his morality. Patton appeared in his usual spot in the living room with a confused look on his face. “We have a new neighbor! What do I do?”
Patton gasped and clapped his hands together in delight. Meeting new people was one of his favorite things in the world. Along with puppies, cookies, and making people smile.
“Well, let’s get the others and go meet them!” Patton said, summoning the others. They all appeared in their usual spots.
“I don’t know if I should go with all of you to meet them,” Thomas said, uncertainty in his voice.
“Or how about you don’t go at all?” Virgil said, drawing Thomas’s attention away from Patton. “What if they’re exhausted from unpacking. Or maybe they still are unpacking. Do you really think they wanna deal with you right now?” Thomas bit his lip nervously, considering what Anxiety had said.
“Virgil, we’ve talked about this,” Roman said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. “We can’t afford to worry about ‘what if’s’.”
“Roman’s right,” Logan said. “Seeing that there isn’t a read threat, there is no reason for Thomas to be anxious right now.”
“I… I’m sorry, guys…” Virgil sighed.
“It’s okay,” Thomas assured him. “I know that you’re just trying to protect me.”
“Can we please meet the new neighbor now?” Patton pleaded.
“I think you guys should stay in my mind. I don’t want to freak them out,” Thomas said.
“Fair enough,” Logan said, sinking back into Thomas’s mind. The others followed shortly after, and Thomas walked to the house next door.
Thomas took a deep breath before lifting his hand to knock on the door. Before he could, however, he heard someone speaking.
“You know, it would be a lot easier to do this if you weren’t in control, Piper,” a voice from inside said.
“I’m just doing my job,” another voice, similar to the first one, said. This voice seemed a little more dragged out and calm. “Besides, I think you deserve some rest! Take a nap! Enjoy yourself!” The first voice groaned in frustration.
“Come on, even Sarcasm is help- No, she’s not, she’s lying on the floor,” the first voice said.
Realizing he had been eavesdropping, Thomas quickly knocked on the door. He heard footsteps come closer before the door swung open, revealing a tired-looking girl with long brown hair and blue eyes.
“Hi, I’m–wait a minute. There, there’s six of you,” Thomas said, surprised by the fact that all everyone he could see in the house looked almost exactly the same.
“Congratulations, genius,” the one lying on the floor said, “you can count.” The girl who opened the door turned the one on the floor.
“Oh, be quiet, Sarcasm. I don’t need your… sarcasm, right now,” she said.
“What an awkward statement that was,” Sarcasm, as she apparently was called, said. “Too bad you don’t know my name.” The girl at the door groaned and rolled her eyes.
“Zip it!” she said, turning her attention back to Thomas, only to be disrupted by an outburst of singing.
“Zip-a-dee-do-dah! Zip-a-dee-ay! My, oh my, what a wonderful da-” a girl with two pigtails sang cheerfully.
“Seriously, Distraction?” the first one said with an unamused face.
“That was beautiful,” another one wearing a blue dress and a tiara said, acting as though she was holding back tears. Or was she not even acting?
“Okay, I’m so sorry about that,” the first girl said, finally focusing her full attention on Thomas.
“That’s alright,” Thomas assured her. “Sorry to bother you in the first place, but I’m Thomas. I live right next door.” He held out his hand.
“Nice to meet you, Thomas,” she said, taking his hand and shaking it. “I’m Amanda. And you weren’t bothering me at all. It wasn’t like I was actually getting anything done.” She laughed a little. “Oh! And I should probably explain why there are six of me.”
“So this may seem really weird but, uh, these are my personality traits,” Amanda said.
“I knew it!” Roman exclaimed, appearing beside Thomas. Amanda jumped back in surprise.
“Whoa! What the–?” she looked at Roman, then at Thomas. “You have sides too?”
“Everyone has sides,” Logan said, appearing along with Patton and Virgil.
“The variation is whether or not the sides choose to reveal themselves,” another version of Amanda elaborated, walking up beside her. This version had her hair up in a bun and pink button-up shirt with a black tie and was the only one who had glasses like Amanda.
“Anyway, I guess I should properly introduce you two my sides,” Amanda said. She turned to the trait next to her. “This is Paige, my logical side.” She pointed to the one that broke out in song earlier. “That’s Distraction. She hasn’t told me her name yet, but she represents the fact that I get distracted easily. But she also seems to take care of feelings too.” Next, she gestured to the one lying on the ground. “That’s Sarcasm. Again, no name, but she represents not only sarcasm but my negative and cynical thinking, as well. Then there’s Dramatic, my, well, dramatic side. She represents my imagination, creativity, excessive singing, all that jazz. And finally, that’s Piper, my athletic side.” The final one was lying on the couch half-asleep.
That’s your athletic side?” Virgil questioned in disbelief.
“Yeah, the whole thing is that she’s always tired,” Amanda explained.
“Well, it’s nice to meet all of you,” Thomas said. “This is Roman, my fanciful side, Logan, my logical side, Patton, my morality, and Virgil, my anxiety.”
“Sweet! Well, it’s a pleasure to meet all of you, but I gotta get back to unpacking so-” Amanda began, but a crash cut her off.
“Oops!” Distraction said, looking down at the plate she just dropped. Dramatic ran to help her clean up.
“Actually, could you maybe… keep them out of my way for a bit?” Amanda asked hopefully in a whisper.
“Sure,” Thomas said. Amanda turned to her sides.
“Alright, listen up,” she said. All of her sides looked at her. “You guys are going to with Thomas while I finish unpacking, okay?”
“Yay!” Distraction exclaimed with a little jump. Piper groaned and rolled off the couch and face first onto the floor.
“Do I have to go?” she asked, her voice muffled by the carpet.
“Yup!” Amanda said taking one of her arms and pulling her to her feet. She pushed her in the direction of the door where the others were waiting. She bid them goodbye and shut her door, glad to finally be able to get some stuff done.
Thank you for (thinking of?)/writing Loki/grandmaster, it was something I never knew I wanted until I saw a post about it, and now it's one of the most intriguing things that I've found in this fandom in years! (Reading about fictional characters, their issues and problems helps me deal with (avoid) my own)
I have a fic in progress, and actually @theotherodinson has written a few (and is probably the captain of this ship, really), so…welcome to the thing! it sure is a thing. and just like.
so much potential for weird fucked up dynamics and Iiiii really need to get drunk and work on that fic, don’t I, because getting drunk is the fastest way to get over myself about anything
also decide if I really want to do alternating POV for it, because I think I don’t, it’d just make some parts of my life easier? but probably a lot of my life harder. requires further consideration.
post/163042142921/an-imagine-for-both-rosso-and-denif-who-are-having Continuation of this? Plot twist: They actually ARE dating, but it's secret and they don't want anyone to find out! Fluff please? ♥
“I swear Solace suspects,” Denif grumbles as he shuts the door to Rosso’s bedroom.  Rosso rolls over and gives him a lazy smile.
“You came,” he says happily.  “I thought you weren’t going to, after they caught you that one night.”
“Hush.”  Denif grumbles and sits down heavily on Rosso’s bed, his tailtip twitching.  “Ugh.  If people knew two El Masters were dating…”
“They’d tease us, and then it’d die down, and things would go back to normal,” Rosso says reasonably.  “C’mon, sleep with me.  Things aren’t going to change just ‘cause you worry about them.”
Denif sighs.  Rosso sits up and scoots closer to Denif, then kisses him.
“Sleep,” he says again when he pulls away.  This time, Denif willingly lies down and lets himself be cuddled.
“Wake me up before sunrise so I can go back to my own room,” he mutters into Rosso’s chest.  Rosso laughs and strokes Denif’s long hair.
“Whatever you say,” he replies, and they fall asleep together like that.
Rereading fae tales for the third time. I just got curious about a thing. I wondered what the first meeting between Augus and Gwynn was like when they were friendly after Gwynn went to see him and before Augus was evil. Is that something you've thought about?
I think about their post-Deeper into the Woods friendship a lot, actually.
Though I mostly think about how incredibly one-sided it was. I.e. Gwyn infatuated with Augus (and probably being pretty painfully obvious about it, I mean it’s Gwyn), and Augus behaving in a way that makes his personal boundaries really clear and kind of finding Gwyn’s company a little fascinating but also just hoping that Gwyn comes to his senses etc.
I think they had a lot of fun on Wild Hunts together. That was probably a place where they could put their other feelings aside and just revel in each other as wild creatures.
But yeah, honestly, I think Gwyn thinks about it a lot. That, and the events in Deeper into the Woods, basically informs his overall empathy towards Augus and his sense of him, and also deeply influences why he refuses to kill Augus. Like, he says it’s because he owed it to Ash, but that was always total bullshit. He said that to Ash, to make it seem like he was doing Ash a huge favour, but honestly, he never had any intention of killing Augus and tried to overall go to great lengths to avoid it.
Now, Gwyn tries to think about it less, because that period of time hurts him a little to think about. But Augus thinks about it more. I think he wonders what would’ve happened in his life if he’d started something up with Gwyn back then, and while he knows hindsight is 20/20 and all of that, I think he sort of…wishes some things had happened differently.
So yeah, even though I’ve never much written about it, for the sake of their character development, I’ve thought about it a lot. The early friendship of Gwyn and Augus, those dumb fae babies.
Seven Long Years Later
I’m done with my book. It has been rewritten four times and is fully edited (okay it’s getting one last read through by a friend, but other than that it is done)
I’ve worked on other things, of course, and even went long stretches without working on it at all, but it’s DONE.
It feels weird, actually.  It’s been seven years almost to the day since I created Bel and Heln and so much has changed.
Do u have any flippy fic recs? :) preferably flippy/splendid or flippy/splendont!
All of these are in Chinese but do like I did and just google translate it (it’s still readable at least). I think you need to create an account first but it’s not too complicated tbh
So the only one I can actually recommend is this one:
http://beanz.lofter.com/post/1d2523da_7d50a71
Splendid is the main character but it is Splendid x Flippy
It’s REALLY good like it’s sort of a murder mystery *-* just a warning tho there’s gore and wow some angst
I can post whenever this fanfic updates if it interests you
Here’s the tags on LOFTER if you want to read more:
British Feel (Splendid x Fliqpy):
http://www.lofter.com/tag/英觉
British Army (Splendid x Flippy):
http://www.lofter.com/tag/英军
Red Feel (Splendont x Fliqpy):
http://www.lofter.com/tag/红觉
The Red Army tag is just a bunch of war stuff but there’s not many fanfics there to begin with :P
I think if you want Flippy centered fanfics you can just search it
I saw that you said that the image post limit might be 4 in the post itself and 4 more in the text below (apologies if I misread something). What happens if we want to post, say, a comic longer than that? Do we get an option of creating independent pages like we do on Tumblr? (Ones that you can create and designate a url for but are not actually post on the blog itself?)
We’re working on setting up a feature that would display a web comic in a more professional manner that is akin to how a separate website would look!
