I've been feeling really down lately and I was really worried id relapse so I was about to throw out all my razor blades but then I saw a notification come up on my phone that said you had posted a new story and I read it and it made really really happy so I just wanted to say that i love your stories and that they help me cope <3

i know controlling impulses can be hard, and you very possibly have already been told about this 1 million times, but have you seen this list of alternatives to cutting? i’ve heard from actual people (not a website that i googled) that ice cubes and snapping rubbing bands against yourself can help alleviate the need to seriously harm yourself, while still letting you explore the impulse when it comes up
personally, i get violent impulses when i’m very frustrated, but things like snapping pencils or breaking dollar store plates instantly make me feel better, while trying to suppress my impulse just makes me more angry.
