Pitch Perfect (the first one) wasn’t about a group of girls
being the best at singing cool songs and showing everybody else how cool they
are. I mean, okay, yeah, that is sort of the very shallow premise of
the movie. But the actual plot of the movie – the deep end of the pool premise – is
how this group of rejects becomes a family and find solace and strength with
The songs and the dancing were just a vehicle to tell a
story of bonding.
Pitch Perfect 1 is almost an indie film. It has an extremely small budget, and the
entire film takes place in dorm rooms.
They’re small places where the characters can lean against each other,
share a sleeve of cookies, and talk about what they want to be when they grow
And that is why
Pitch Perfect was so great.
But when they made Pitch Perfect 2, they completely did away
with all of that. They did the opposite
thing. The charm of the first movie was never about the songs. Don’t get me wrong, PP1 is full of absolute
bangers, and I still listen to the soundtrack all the time. But the songs are not why the first movie was
so charming. If it was just about having
cool songs, then we’d all be fawning over Glee season 13 or whatever, instead
of talking about what a shitbag it was to all of its characters.
Would you mind translating lyrics of the song 'vi er perfekt men verden er ikke det' I'd really appreciate that :)
hey, lovely! 💖
ofc! i whipped this up for you (just remember that lyrics don’t translate too well and that i’m not a pro, so there may be some awkward phrases ahh) (^:
cezinando - we’re perfect, but the world isn’t
We’re perfect, but the world isn’t Eyes blanker than what the papers really looked like Before all the punches and kicks I’m just a boy Alone with all the thoughts like ‘ahhh’
We’re perfect, but the world isn’t
Plates for the elephants If we say the same things until we’re used to it There’ll be some truth in it, in the end
Manila traffic gets worse with each passing day. I doodled this in the car ride home and it came out pretty okay, so I decided to post it here! But come on Cheritz, this man is so bloody blessed, its unfair. Musically-inclined people are goals;; I can’t sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to save my life.
If you’re curious (youprobablyaren’t), the first three days of school were chill, but I can see it escalating pretty quickly. Not too long before I’m basically Jaehee, just y’all wait and watch me scrambling to submit all my science reports on time.
here we are now, with the falling sky and the rain we’re awakening ♪
one of the scenes I would really love to see (as I’m sure many people have thought of!) is Rey experiencing her first rainfall ☺ also because “Awakening” has become one of my theme songs for TFA and all the new kids, there’s something about it which is very beautiful and fits so well thematically ;;
AND BONUS PIC: Finn + Rey (+ Poe’s jacket of a thousand uses (〃▽〃) )
Imagine Enjolras realizing he has feelings for Grantaire and, as usual, not knowing how to communicate them but knowing that he has to make some big romantic gesture.
So he figured out that Grantaire likes to go to this open mic at the Musain, and he figures that will be the perfect way to confess his feelings. But, being Enjolras, he can’t do things halfway, so he also learns how to play guitar so that he can play the perfect love song that really demonstrates how he feels about Grantaire.
And so all of Les Amis are at this open mic night and Enjolras gets called and everyone is surprised but no one moreso than Grantaire when Enjolras straight up dedicates the song to him.
And of course Enjolras gives this big, dramatic speech about realizing his feelings and how Grantaire is amazing and Grantaire is sitting there just fucking dead and blushing so deeply as Enjolras keeps saying these goopy, sappy, ridiculous things about him.
And then JUST IMAGINE Grantaire’s face when Enjolras finally wraps up his ridiculously long speech and turns back to the audience and is like, “Anyway, here’s Wonderwall.”
there are people always posting here and on twitter like ‘I still don’t *get* the carly rae jepsen hype…’ well i love her bc she writes infectious pop music usually about that exciting period when you know you have a crush on someone and you’re not yet in a relationship w them but you just feel so alive. or that anxious but exhilarating time between asking someone out and waiting for their response. she makes these effervescent and vibrant songs that embody something like a rainbow that appears as the sun peeks out after a storm. if you give yourself to her music she can make your heart swell and you shout along to her songs and dance like nobody’s watching. it’s shameless and universal and #relatable and often quirky and not pretentious at all and surprisingly deep and it’s pure fun which i think makes a lot of her music perfect or damn-near-perfect pop
