this seems to be a popular one

ramblings

Being an older-than-your-average fan, who is already working and has stanned groups since 2009, I am perpetually worried about NCT 127.
Don’t worry, I’m not trying to inject unnecessary panic into people’s thoughts, I just wanted to share with y’all why it’s important to show our support for them in any way we can.
It’s just that you can really see how much different the group is compared to other groups and how different this era of kpop is for idols from the rest.
In this day and age, the success of a group suddenly seems linked to how viral they can be or how much hype they can illicit from the public. The “it” groups tend to be the ones who make it to popular dance covers and vines and trend words, etc.
But we all know NCT 127 has strayed from that path, as their music to begin with is unique (more k-hiphop than kpop really), and have immediately gained more international recognition than local (the k-public). While I’d like to believe that they are taking the slow and sure path upwards, than the usual viral-almost-immediately-famous path, I cant help but feel that this Cherry Bomb era was expected by the company and by our boys to explode virally.  All of you can see that they did go all-out this time, with the crazy difficult choreography, 2D animation in the MV, all those practice videos and BOY videos, the promos, etc. We’re literally being spoiled by SM, meaning that SM and our boys have invested a lot on this comeback, hoping it would indeed explode their popularity (same way as Sorry Sorry, Growl/Monster, Gee, etc) .
Obviously, digital charts say otherwise (which I understand, nowadays girl groups and catchy-generic songs fair better digitally and 127′s k-fanbase is still much small), and in the coming music shows with them being up against famous groups, you can see how small they still are and how the bomb hasn’t exploded the way they would have wanted it to.
Fortunately, it seems that SM isn’t irked by this, and have even resorted to sticking to their sound when KBS banned the song from being promoted on air. Dont get me wrong, this era (which btw isnt done yet!!!)  has managed to bring them more fame and more fans. I love that the reception for it, at least internationally, is so great, that non-i-fans have turned and converted into fans (we’re getting bigger in the fandom yay). I mean, look at our boys run!! Although they’ve only won once on a music show, they’ve been invited to two KCONs (turning three), several international music festivals, and won year-end rookie awards less than a year into their debut!!!
But really my worry stems more from the fact that our boys have probably been exhausted to the core in trying to be that big “HIT” they needed to be for this era, most esp to the kpublic. But I guess, it’s gonna take time, I just hope that each and every one of them will be strong enough to hold on to that dream until it happens.
In the mean time, please stream Cherry Bomb on Melon, Naver, GEnie and watch their MV as much as you can!

Blue suits in the New Spain.

Regardless of social position or economical background, sky blue seems to have been quite popular back in the 18th century New Spain (a.k.a. Mexico): from silk and velvet to simple cotton, from elegantly minimal to deeply decorated, and of course the most humble one, blue is a great colour for menswear if any of you decide to have a New Spanish persona. (P.S., please do!)

Music Series: Wish That You Were Here by Florence + the Machine (sequel to My Everything)

I have, Anon, and it’s a great song! I’ve not seen the movie yet, but it makes me want to see it. Thank you for your sweet words! 💖

As I’ve mentioned previously, several of you have made requests for sequels to other imagines, and I try to keep a running list of those for when a song pops up that would work well for one, so keep letting me know. Finally! It has happened for a popular imagine you all seemed to really enjoy.

Here is the sequel to “My Everything” by Ariana Grande, to the tune of Florence + the Machine’s, “Wish That You Were Here”. I’m a Florence fan so I was happy to see this request, thank you, Anon!

You can hear this song on Spotify at THIS LINK via my Spotify playlist called ‘Gloomy Poops’.

Day Two: Colors

Hylians were boring.

Well that wasn’t quite correct, Sidon mused. They just looked boring. Hylians were an entire race composed of brown and beige. Their skin, eyes, and hair were all so muted in such a way that they entire race just seemed unappealing. Not to say they were ugly– quite the opposite actually. In fact some could be rather appealing.

It was simply that no Hylian stood out to Sidon. They all blended into one so seamlessly that if not for the vast changes in personality, Sidon would not be able to tell one from another.

His own people were comprised of an array of different colors: ruby reds, sky blues and the darkest ebonys covered his people’s scales in a show of diversity beyond most. The Rito, way out east, had brilliant feathers for each of their kind with no two patterns being the same. Gerudo had vibrant hair and warm skin. Gorons had… A quality to their appearance that made them immediately recognizable.

The Hylians were– well boring. They were boring to look at. His father said they weren’t always like that, and that before The Great Calamity, Hylians would change their hair colors as they pleased just as they would dye their clothes, but Sidon had yet to see it.

Sounded interesting to him, though.

When Sidon had set out to find the Hylian that would save his people he was worried he would miss them with pale skin and brown hair and brown eyes and a flat face, but he digressed.

When he finally found a Hylian brave enough (or dumb enough depending on how you looked at it) to accompany him to the domain, he was absolutely floored by his beauty. Link had the bluest eyes he’d ever seen in his life. They were so impossibly deep that Sidon felt he could physically swim in the crystal cerulean of them. And they were so full of emotions that words couldn’t convey that Sidon quite nearly lost himself starring in them.

It didn’t stop at his eyes however. His skin wasn’t pale like most others of his race either. It was kissed so perfectly by a sun Sidon hadn’t seen I’m ages. His hair looked like golden waves of silk hand woven by the Goddess herself.

He was beautiful, and as time would tell, Sidon would find him just as radiant on the inside. He loved watching those beautiful eyes flutter open first thing in the morning, and the way his sweet smile would pull across his face. He loved running his hands through that hair to his heart’s content, but most of all he loved the way Link’s skin flushed and his eyes engulfed him when Sidon would tell him how much he loved him.

Here is this week’s Fic Rec! Also, fun fact - I am currently on a cross country road trip, and made this list while in Denver, CO! Hi to anyone who’s from here! 😊

1. to be loved (and to be in love) by nouiiam

“What? I’m a very quiet person.” Harry shrugs, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

Louis purses his lips.”You seemed a bit more reckless, I guess,” He says. “Must be the curls.”

“Must be,” Harry agrees, nodding and smiling. Louis makes a humming noise and pokes the corner of Harry’s mouth.

“Those dimples, too. Very rebellious looking,” He tells him, crossing his arms and grinning like mad.

-or the one where Louis’s popular, Harry’s not and they bond by trying to get their friends together while accidentally matchmaking the entire school.

2. Home Wrecker by D1ona30

Tumblr: @iwillscreamuntilearsbleed

There’s something written on the wall, and he can just barely focus on it with the guy on his knees and his lips around his dick but he can read it: “WATCH OUT FOR THE HOMEWRECKER,” written in black sharpie. Harry looks down for a moment and wonders if this is the boy the person was talking about

3. Just a Flower Boy by Larryruinedme
Words: 70k

Harry Styles is a clumsy, flower crown-wearing, openly gay junior with only two true friends, Niall and Zayn. Louis Tomlinson is the school’s attractive, straight football captain, with a small body and a big personality. As fate will have it, Harry has a huge, unrequited, utterly hopeless crush on Louis.

Fate is thrown out the window the day that Harry and Louis find themselves partnered up for a history project. Harry starts to receive notes from a secret admirer, Louis starts to get jealous of Harry’s budding friendship with senior Nick Grimshaw, Zayn and Liam develop a thing for each other, and Niall is the best mate anyone could have asked for. And suddenly, Harry’s crush on Louis doesn’t seem so utterly hopeless anymore.

4. How Much For A Dozen And You? by SS98
Words: 3k

Harry parts his lips with words at the tip of his tongue. He shoves his hands into the pockets of his coat and fights with himself mentally on what to say next. “Do you…- Do you like Italian food?”

“I haven’t really eaten much of it.” Louis admits, clearing his throat. “W-Why do you ask?”

The question seems to catch Harry off-guard even though he opened up this path of conversation. In addition, everyone seated around them seems drawn to their awkward communication; even the ladies who conduct the actual baking in the kitchen are peeking through a slot in the wall.

“Well, would you be open to being convinced?” Harry asks, wincing when he clumsily steps around the table and ends up kicking it an inch to the left.

Or, Louis works in a bakery and Harry doesn’t. They fall in love through a series of awkward events.

5. Could Be Kissing my Fruit Punch Lips by thecheshirepussycat
Words: 4k

Harry happens upon a porn site that specializes in live videos and sort of falls in love with the cute boy he only knows as Kitty.

And then he gets the surprise of his life when he finds out Kitty attends his university…

@googlebts reposts memes and edits without credit and says she "found them from google and it's free to use for everyone" even tho reverse google image search is fast & free. this might not be as bad as the others but idk she has quite a big following and i find it weird :/

yeah both them and allbtsvideos deal with reposting things without crediting and reposting stolen content and no one seems to mind? i think they are pretty much as bad as anyone else lol, they are still profiting on work of others without bothering to even do the minimum… but i seem to be in the minority because even big blogs and people i know reblog from them so? i don’t know at which size of a blog you start getting a pass for this garbage, i personally have them both blocked because i don’t care how popular you are, if you repost and don’t credit or deal with instagram videos which are reposts of reposts of reposts (and you damn well know it), then i think what you do is of no benefit to the fandom and are the same as any other reposter leech in my books

anonymous asked:

for some reason lately i've been thinking a lot about what kinda shitposts/memes and typical stupid internet/inside-jokes would occur in gotham, like with the rouges and such. and boy howdy if that riddler go-gurt post didn't seem like just the kinda shiz you'd read on some 20-something gothamite's blog idk what would. even better line of thought i've been having, actually running the risk of a rouge seeing/hearing stuff about them and w/e their reactions would be.

I think most rogues don’t care about internet memes or jokes about them. They kind of have bigger things to worry about and they’re not going to track down someone just because they made a meme out of them.

BUt they do love to throw the popular ones at each other’s faces.

- Rogue meetings where Harley comes in with a walmart bag of go-gurt for Ed and regular yogurt for everyone else.

- Scarecrow complaining about how cold it is in Arkham and some rando telling to switch to burlap socks then.

A while ago I was lurking on Twitter and saw some film critics having a conversation about the eye lighting in giallo films (which are basically Italian horror and noir films from the ‘60s and ‘70s). Someone pointed out it was the same weird eye lighting they have in TOS. They speculated that it may have come from American noir but no one seemed to know for sure.

I did some research of my own and found out that:

a) It was probably made popular by the 1931 Dracula

b) It is now commonly known as a “Shatner light”

c) A lot of people also associate it with Morticia Addams

Hot Off The Press

Another AU where Jacky-Boy is a hockey player and Bitty has a job that involves hockey bc that’s my aesthetic. Anyway, I really know nothing about how the world of sports journalism works so there is probably some inaccuracies in here, but it’s an AU so who cares. Artistic license and all that. Very slightly NSFW (i just wanted to get all the warnings out there).

***

“Are you into men?”

Jack has been asked this question before, but in such a subtle way (and typically involving Parson) that it’s easy to avoid. No reporter has ever straight out asked him. Besides, he’s not gay. He’s bisexual. So when Jack usually tells them, “No.” it’s not a lie. However, this time it feels different. Maybe it wasn’t just this particular time, but all the times added onto each other that’s finally causing him to really think about what hole he’s digging himself into.

The blunt question has him feeling panicky and the other presser notice his reaction too. Jack can’t say no, because that’s not true. He is into men. Jack’s panic quickly shifts, and now he just feels like shoving the microphones away and storming out, because this is hockey goddammit. Not E! news.

“Excuse me?” Jack clears his throat, trying to buy himself some time to think of a properly crafted response. Over the years, he’s developed a talent for that.

But everything is on overdrive and he feels his breath start to quicken again–

“Are you into men?” Another reporter asks, and it takes Jack a moment to realize that the reporter isn’t asking him. He’s asking the man who popped the question in the first place.

All attention, including Jack’s, turns to the small blonde that got lost in the bundle of people. He holds up his mic towards the reporter who popped the question in the first place.

The Sun in the Houses

Introduction

The House the Sun resides in represents the area of an individual’s life most affected by the expression of individuality and our unique powers. This is where we seek to make our mark, and how we feel our uniqueness.

Unless there is a House Stellium elsewhere in the individual’s chart, this House will be the most defining in the natal chart as the powerful influence of the Sun is directed there.

The Sun directs us to take action in the areas of life ruled by the House it resides in. We cannot lead happy, fulfilled lives without exploring our potential in these areas. This is an extremely vital contribution to our identity.

These areas of life are also where our egos are allowed to flourish, which means there is a necessity to be cautious of growing too self-confident or self-assured. There must be balance.

Sun in the 1st House

The House of Self

This position bestows great will and passion. The native possesses vitality, an air of confidence, and self-awareness. Their concept and understanding of their own identity is of great importance in their life, and to their overall success as an individual.

Natives of this position take great pride in their physical appearance and what they do and create. They seek to be recognized for what they are and what they are capable of in a way that other natives do not. They need recognition to feel secure in themselves.

They possess a presence that cannot be denied. Leadership comes naturally, along with comfort in one’s own skin. It is hard to manipulate this individual or sway their opinions. The determination this position bestows is far too great to be overcome by any force. Highly ambitious, these natives will work long and hard to achieve what they want in life.

Adversely, natives are egotistical, their individualism often taken to extremes. Despite their air of confidence, these natives are actually quite self-conscious. It can be difficult not to become consumed with the worries of others’ impressions and thoughts. This is especially true when the Sun is afflicted. Such a position leads to compulsiveness and a hunger for power.

Sun in the 2nd House

The House of Possessions

Unlike the Sun in the 1st House which leads to natives taking great pride in their appearance and abilities, the native of the Sun in the 2nd House leads to pride in possessions. Natives are driven to pursue material goods and financial security above all else.

They are determined, faithful, and have strong values. With this determination and drive, they pursue financial wealth. How they obtain their wealth depends on the Sun sign - ie. Sun in Gemini may indicate the wealth will be obtained through intellectual or communicative pursuits; Sun in Virgo may indicate caring for others as a doctor, nurse, or something similar.

Though they seek material possessions, they are typically not unreasonable with their money. Financial security trumps all else. Still, they may not understand that this wealth should be used to actually benefit them rather than satisfy temporary desires above true needs. Despite this focus on money, natives are not greedy but instead quite magnanimous.

There is a tendency to be far too materialistic and superficial. Natives must realize that they cannot believe their worth comes from themselves, not from the objects they surround themselves with. They must shift their pride from the manifestation of their hard work to the hard work itself.

When afflicted, this position may lead to squandering money or the feeling that the native is not worthy of love.

Sun in the 3rd House

House of the Mind

This position drives the native to achieve greatness through intellectualism, academia, and the like. Mental accomplishments define the native’s identity.

The precise nature of this knowledge may shift depending on the sign the Sun is in - ie. Aquarius would suggest scientific endeavors, while Scorpio may lead the native into the occult or psychology, or Capricorn into business. Overall, however, there is a scientific bent to whatever it is the native pursues. This also applies to their curiosity: Natives are highly investigative and driven to learn new, unique things.

Often, they are driven to travel, exploring the world and the many cultures it holds. Restlessness often plagues them, and they are left feeling as if they must be doing something at all times.

Friendship and communication are highly important to this native. Unlike the Houses before it, the 3rd House inspires the native to take pride in relationships. The native often has a unique knack for relating to others, and makes friends with ease. Their open minded nature also contributes to this ease.

Affliction leads to intellectual superiority complexes and the desire to force their beliefs on others. They can be extremely impatient with others, as well.

Sun in the 4th House

The House of Family

Pride in heritage and family is key to natives of this position. The home becomes a symbol of their pride and worth. They seek to showcase their ties and history.

This can also manifest in an interest in the land itself. Gardening, natural resources, and the like are of great importance to them.

The desire to be the head of the family is common. Much of the native’s energy is devoted to the home and family, and if their personal life is not in order they cannot focus on anything else until it is. The foundation of the family and home is one that supports them in all areas of life.

Within the first part of their life, there will be difficulties, and in the second part, prosperity. This is typically because natives understand they must plan ahead, and focus on the future instead of immediate pleasure.

Defensiveness and secrecy are common in these natives. When afflicted, this position leads to a struggle with parents and partners. They can be dictatorial in the home.

Sun in the 5th House

The House of Pleasure

When the Sun’s energy is directed into the 5th House, the native’s pride and power is their creativity. They desire - and truly need - to be recognized for this creativity.

Not only drawn to the arts, natives are often physical. They are interested in sports, and arts that combine the two such as dance. Their nature is competitive, as well, which manifests in these areas.

Romance, drama, and popularity seem to surround these natives. They have an air of regality more often than not, and their brightness draws in others. Their great sense of loyalty contributes to this, as well.

Children often play important roles in their life in one way or another.

Love is intense for these natives, and sometimes all consuming. When the Sun is in Taurus or Scorpio, possessiveness may overwhelm their relationships.

Egocentric and at times far too individualistic, natives often are taken down by their risky behavior and lack of sense. Natives seek adventure and action in life, which can sometimes be dangerous. There is a naivety that characterizes this position and can be hard to grow out of.

Sun in the 6th House

The House of Health

For these natives, pride stems from service. The identity is shaped by how the individual can contribute to society and directly to those around them. They must assist others in order to feel fulfilled and confident in themselves.

Because they take such pride in their work, these natives are hard working but somewhat difficult to work with. They need to feel appreciated, and to receive appreciation for this hard work. When this does not occur, there are often feelings of resentment that form.

They often need to keep busy in one way or another because they feel useless when not doing something.

This position often negatively affects health, ironically. The native may find it necessary to stick to strict diets in order to stay healthy. When well aspected, this position does lead to an innate understanding of their own health and the health of others. When afflicted, the position instead leads to a struggle to understand this part of their identity at all.

Natives must learn that their work should not be their identity in whole. They need a life outside of constant work, and a way to define themselves when not working. Their perfectionism can be difficult to manage, and actively hurt them. Anxiety can be so great it is detrimental to their health.

Sun in the 7th House

The House of Partnership

Pride and identity is found through close relationships. Marriage is their focus, and takes up a great deal of their energy. They take great care to ensure their partners are happy and healthy, making a great partner themselves.

Natives possess negotiation skills, the ability to harmonize with others, and motivation to form positive relationships with everyone they meet. They do their bests when working with others in all areas of life. Sharing experiences is highly enjoyable to them.

When the Sun is well aspected, they easily attract good friends. Their charm is great, and they are typically highly considerate of others.

Rejection can be extremely intense for these natives. Often, these natives put the needs of others above their own, causing themselves great pain and suffering at times. They can even lose themselves in relationships as they identify so strongly with their associations with others.

Sun in the 8th House

The House of Depth

When the Sun is in the 8th House, the native is drawn to the mysteries of the universe. Religion, spirituality, occultism, and the like are all areas of interest. This interest typically develops over the native’s lifetime, and may not be present right away.

Their energy is so powerfully directed to these areas that the natives are grounded in these areas of life, stabilized by these beliefs. They not only take pride in these beliefs, they are empowered by them.

As the 8th House also rules transformation, natives typically seek to evolve and grow in all areas of life, and take great pride in this ability to change. Not only this, but this position is quite severe, forcing the native to grow through quite difficult life lessons. This often involves the relinquishing, or death, of a part of the being.

Often, these individuals will begin as selfish or egotistical and be forced to transform into a more open, understanding, and beautiful being.

There is a certain magnetism about this native that draws others to them. This can be used to benefit the native throughout life.

Emotions are carefully controlled as they are so powerful. The native understands the great influence of emotion, and thus they understand that emotion can be a weapon.

When ill aspected, natives can seek money through unscrupulous means and be quite dangerous.

Sun in the 9th House

House of Philosophy

The native of this position is greatly interested in philosophy: Higher education, religion, law, etc. Overall, there is an interest in society, and influencing it.

There is a draw to other cultures, travel, and exploration unless the Sun sign is Fixed. Even if they never travel, these natives often have a knack for learning languages.

Even if the native is not religious, they often have strong morals and values from which they refuse to sway - even if these morals are misguided. Their ideals are quite grand, and they are impatient to reach them. This can lead to naivete and self-righteousness. Despite this, the native can grow into an open-minded, adventurous, and curious individual.

When afflicted, this position inspired dictatorial behavior, eccentric religious beliefs, or struggles in higher education. They can also be highly condescending and attempt to force their morals on others, even if they are hypocritical.

Sun in the 10th House

House of Status

Responsibility and authority are at the center of this individual’s identity. Natives defines themselves by their success and recognition. Ambition, power, and authority are highly important in their lives.

These natives will work remarkably hard to reach their goals. There is nothing that can stop them when they set their sights on something they desire.

Natives are so wrapped up in concepts of honor and dignity that they refuse to lower themselves even slightly, however.

This is actually a position many politicians possess as it bestows dignity and strong will. On the other hand, this also applies to their morals. They believe they are meant to serve as an example, and act as if they are always being watched in a sense; in many ways this is true, as others will look up to them.

Being lower than others is a struggle for them, and for this reason they must seek jobs in which they are in control. Their leadership abilities are strong, and when they nurture this aspect of themselves they can do great things.

There is a tendency to become wrapped up in material goods. The native’s arrogance is often their downfall, so they must take great steps to control this part of themselves. This is especially true when the Sun is afflicted, and the native may even resort to unscrupulous methods in order to achieve power.

Sun in the 11th House

House of Friendship

Humanitarianism is the most distinct aspect of this position. The native is intensely devoted to equality, and highly empathetic to the plight of others. The concept of human dignity is one that truly shapes the native and inspires them to help others in whatever ways they can manage. Natives take great pride in this part of their lives, too, seeing their devotion to humanity as honorable.

Society in general is the focus of this native. Friendship, group activities, and similar affairs define them. It is not social status that they seek, but connections with others, and many connections will be made.

The openness and tolerance granted by this position draws people in. Not only this, but the native adapts to social situations with grace and ease. It is all too easy for this native to form friendships, but the only issue is that they can be shallow, not truly deep. While these natives can make quick friends, they can also quickly leave.

The native desires to work in groups, and thus gain recognition through groups. This position also inspires scientific and, sometimes, occult interests.

In cases of affliction, the native either uses friends for their own gain or is used.

Sun in the 12th House

The House of the Subconscious

This is a highly introspective position. Natives are focused on their own mental state and identity, and occasionally that of others through psychology or psychic interests. This is where they may serve others, and experience personal fulfillment.

Comfort truly comes from assisting others, the compassion and care bestowed by this placement is so great. Despite this, the individual can find it hard to interact with others directly as they are so shy, particularly if the Sun is afflicted in this House.

The Sun’s energy, when directed in such a naturally dark place, can prove far too much. There is a conflict when the outgoing Sun meets the internal, hidden 12th House. The native can feel torn between these two natures. Individuals with this placement are often unnecessarily hard on themselves, as well.

There is a tendency to avoid the spotlight, instead moving behind the scenes. Alone time is needed to regroup quite often.

Self-pity can plague the native, as can lack of confidence.

honestly the aphobic exclusionist rhetoric scares the shit out of me because it is so damn violent and hateful towards us??? they say worse things about us than they say about actual Straight people.

i have seen, multiple times, these people call for all ace people to die??? to be raped??? they’ve insinuated that we are all pedophiles somehow?? and they still fucking act like we’re the demons here. shit y'all im terrified of telling people irl that im ace because Straight people don’t react well and now i know that i have to be wary of not Straight people too and it scares the shit out of me y'all

and i see so much of their rhetoric in seemingly innocuous posts too that people reblog without realizing. and so many very popular bloggers are aphobes too. like no one not directly involved in discourse hell seems to give a shit about how harmful aphobes are to us. it’s not a good enough reason for them to unfollow a popular blogger, or else they all agree and it fucking sucks to know that my choices are either that y'all all hate me or y'all don’t care enough about me to stick up for me so. yeah im fucking tired

First look at my next AU… I have no idea when I will be completing this :(

Anyways, Lance is a rather popular and charismatic street singer, earning a lot of attention from girls in the street. However, Keith, a regular who passes by on his way to work, never seems to be fazed by Lance’s popularity and talent.

One day, Keith unassumingly catches Lance’s eye and Lance is immediately smitten (cos come on, who isn’t smitten with Keith). From there on, Lance is extremely determined to win over Keith’s heart using the most sappy romantic songs to capture his attention.

Whether or not Keith falls for it really depends on whether I have time and energy to actually finish the rest of the comic that I have planned for this AU *cries* It’ll probably be released in Nov or Dec.

Fanfic writers, you can write a story based on this however you want, I would be happy to see the different adaptations that you guys have for this AU, just please credit me :)

Lots of narratives have been going around about why Hillary lost. Most are placing the blame directly on the candidate herself, ignoring a few key points:

1. Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million votes. Yes. 3 million. To minimize this or not take it into consideration proves you are bias in your analysis of why Hillary lost. You don’t win the popular vote by 3 million if you are a truly bad candidate (Hillary also won every single debate). And for historical reference, Al Gore only won the popular vote by 500,000. Hillary won it by 3 million. 3 million votes is no small feat. You cannot ignore this fact if you want an un-bias analysis of why Hillary lost the election. The last two Republican Presidents lost the popular vote!

Also – both popular vote winners Al Gore and Hillary Clinton were hurt by progressives (Nader and Bernie) who got too comfortable after 8 years of a Democrat in the White House. Our side seems to shoot itself in the foot after 8 years in power. As we learned yet again – every vote counts, especially in the swing states. Because guess what? You can win the popular vote and still lose the election due to the electoral college. Progressives blew it big time for the second time in 20 years and hurt our popular vote winners Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. A cumulative 3.5 million more votes for the Democrats!

2. In U.S. politics, one party usually has power over the White House for only 8 years. Very rarely does a party hold onto the White House longer than 8 years. The last time was when Bush Senior won after Ronald Reagan, but then he quickly lost re-election to Bill Clinton. Democrat Al Gore couldn’t even win after Clinton left us with a surplus and booming economy. This usually happens because the side that isn’t in power tends to rise up, while the side that occupies the White House gets lazy and complicit. From a historical perspective, America was already headed towards a Republican Administration in 2016. Combine that with the racist backlash to Obama, and Trump exploiting the rise of worldwide racist nationalism, it’s no wonder their base turned out and ours didn’t. Remember – under Obama, the Democrats have lost 900 legislative seats nationwide and most of the Governorships and state legislatures, too (in addition to the White House and U.S. Congress). The backlash to Obama has been strong and was bound to hurt us in 2016. Point is – in American politics, very rarely does the same party occupy the White House for more than two-terms. This especially holds true when you combine that with racism and the rise of nationalism working against the first African American President. Conservatives were out for blood after 8 years of Obama, while our side shot itself in the foot by allowing Bernie to run as a Democrat (Nader all over again).

3. Just as in the United Kingdom (Brexit), there has been a worldwide resurgence in a nationalistic white working-class. Trump exploited this in a way Bernie Sanders never could have. Why? Because nationalism is being used to scapegoat immigrants and minorities. The 2016 election truly was an election about which party was going to turn out their base (whites vs. minorities). That’s why Hillary spent her time trying to convince us of the dangers a Trump Presidency posed to minorities. And if we had voted in levels similar to 2008, our base would have triumphed. But a core part of our base was missing – young voters that showed up for Obama but not Hillary. Why? Bernie fucking Sanders. Most of the “Bernie-or-Bust” voters I knew were young male progressives who puked at the thought of ever voting for Hillary. They even called Bernie a “sell-out” when he half-heartedly campaigned for her. What a shame. Because in the face of Brexit, every vote counted. Remember – Trump only won the swing states by a total of 80,000. How many “Bernie-or-Busters” were in the swing states? Seriously – never underestimate angry white men showing up at the polls (Brexit and Trump). Our side is much harder to turn out. That’s why every vote counted. And yes… I’m looking at you, college students!

4. Comey. The momentum the 3rd debate victory produced was lost after the Comey letter. The 3rd debate was the debate where “Nasty Woman” was coined. The closet thing the Hillary campaign came to naturally produced momentum. And it (luckily) came near the end of the election in the final stretch. Hillary was riding high after the 3rd debate domination – 11% polling lead. Everyone thought she was going to win and Nate Silver gave her over a 90% chance of winning. But then came the Comey letter.

His letter also came after the release of Trump’s “pussy grabber” tape. The media narrative switched from “pussy grabber” to “FBI re-opens Clinton E-mail Probe.” The headlines became anti-Clinton rather than anti-Trump. And in American culture, media momentum is huge. That’s why they call it an “October Surprise.” Late deciding voters heavily broke for Trump due to the Comey letter and that’s what made the difference.

Hillary ordered a complete analysis of the election and the Comey letter was the only new variable from her 11-point polling bump after the 3rd debate to election day. “Pussy grabber” was old news. “E-mails” became front and center yet again. This is why there is currently an independent review of Comey’s actions as we speak. Official protocol says to never release anything about a case if it may sway an election. Why? Because it might turn out to be false. Just like what happened. Comey ultimately retracted the letter in the final hours of the election, but the damage had already been done. Hillary was finished. Her 11-point debate lead – gone. That’s why there is currently an official investigation into Comey breaking official protocol and swaying the election in Trump’s favor. Once this investigation is complete, I’m sure you’ll be hearing from the Clintons.

5. Sexism. The 2016 election proved a far more qualified woman can still lose to a far less qualified man. Actually, Hillary was the most qualified person (man or woman) to ever run for the Presidency. Any man with Hillary’s accomplishments and qualifications never would have lost. It wouldn’t have even been close. Period.

6. Russian interference. We’ll never know exactly how much Russia swayed the election, but the influx of “fake news” targeting Hillary Clinton definitely had an impact on her public perception, especially in regards to her “trustworthiness.” Putin had a vendetta against Hillary because he held her responsible for the protests he faced after his re-election. He also thought Hillary would be far more aggressive and effective than Obama. He’d rather have a puppet and buffoon as President (Trump) than the brilliant Hillary Rodham Clinton.

7. The media. Hillary’s e-mails were made to seem just as bad as the millions of horrific things Trump did over the course of his 4-times bankrupt career. The false equivalence was mind-boggling. In the pursuit of trying to appear “un-bias” by saying both sides were equally corrupt, they ended up being bias against Hillary and helping Trump win the Presidency. The actual un-bias viewpoint is that nothing Hillary has done is anywhere near the level of deplorable things Trump has done. But the media made Hillary seem just as bad as Trump in order to give the impression that they were being “objective.”

I truly hope the media did some soul-searching after the 2016 election. Tearing down Hillary and glorifying Trump – giving rise to his “cult-of-personality” has really bitten you in the ass, hasn’t it? Now you have at minimum 4 years of covering a manipulative propaganda artist con-man who just likes to play head games. Have fun!!

8. Republican witch-hunts. Republicans abused their power, which led to 8 separate Benghazi investigations. More investigations than Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination, and 9/11. Yet Hillary was never found of any wrongdoing and came out victorious after her triumphant 11-hour Benghazi testimony. Unfortunately, after so many fake “scandals,” Hillary’s image had been damaged. Which was the entire point of these fake scandals – even if Hillary isn’t guilty, we can still accuse her of corruption and plant seeds of doubt. But rather than viewing the Republicans as the corrupt ones, manufacturing fake Clinton scandals and wasting tax-payer money, many Americans drank the Clinton hate kool-aid (even progressives).

All of these factors led to the “perfect storm.” Which is why we needed every single vote in every single state. Yet Hillary still managed to win the popular vote by 3 million despite Russian interference, Bernie mania, multiple witch-hunts by Republicans, 11-hour Benghazi testimony, sexism, a media hell bent on false equivalency, a rise in worldwide racist nationalism, one party historically only occupying the White House for 8 years, and the devastating Comey letter.

3 million more votes. Despite it all. A majority of Americans agree with our vision and our values. By the millions. And that’s not even taking into consideration ID laws and voter suppression of minorities, which greatly decreased the amount we won by.

“But, you know, then at the end, we had the Russians and the FBI deal. She couldn’t prevail against that. She did everything else and still won by 2.8 million votes.

The finest vote counter in America is Nate Silver. He told you what costed the election.” ~President Bill Clinton

A political icon and legend. Was going for round 3 in the White House. And we all know she ran it the first two times.
