this season is going to kill me with perfection

12x22: Dean Winchester is going to die

Well, when I was new, I wrote a whole post about this, about how early episodes but especially 12x11 foreshadowed that Performing!Dean was going to be deconstructed by the end of the season… Fans self.

The death of Performing!Dean in this episode was BEAUTIFUL. It was EXQUISITE. I couldn’t have asked for MORE!

I literally grabbed and punched @amwritingmeta in the leg I don't know how many times as I paused it to point and shout.

1. The Grenade Launcher

So, the grenade launcher = performing!Dean metaphor. We had hoped and boy did they deliver! Did anyone else notice, while Dean was *ahem* knocking down the seemingly unpenetrable physical walls, that, maybe it was my weird link, but it seemed to me that the flashing ‘red’ lights in the MoL bunker were decidedly pinky-purpley in colour rather than standard alarm bells red and the flashlights glowed on the blue side of white… (the MoL HQ lights are also brightly pinky-purple to keep the theme going, I mean honestly what self respecting 1950s MoL guy chose this for the bunker instead of the usual red? Please!) Just saying.

“It wasn’t long ago I thought we had it made. We had Cas back, we had mom back. I mean it wasn’t perfect but still…”.  This is it. Dean’s facade has been coming down all season, but at this point now, he just doesn’t see the point in holding it up anymore.

And what does Sam do? HE OPENS UP TO DEAN. He tells Dean how he feels, the reasons why he followed the MoL - that it was “easier than leading”, that he made a mistake. This enables Dean to be truthful himself, in the end, now. Again, they have had many times to reflect on their own deaths but this is another time similar to 11x23 where he can really reflect on what he has lost, and now what is that? Cas and Mary.

Dean uses the grenade launcher, that he’s been dying to do since forever, blows down the impenetrable seeming wall, saves the day. How meta do we need to go? It’s BLATANT. The choice in the colour of the lights, the dialogue, his feelings… the walls are Dean’s facade and the grenade launcher is his way of breaking it down. YES. This has been building all season and much prior to this other meta writers have said that he grenade launcher is associated with Dean’s hidden side, his bisexuality, Destiel etc… this is meta gold, THIS is a meta aspect Dabb was talking about. Toni even then parallels the tearing down of Mary’s mental wall with Dean’s physical use of the grenade launcher, just moments after. It is so well put together :D

Also, I have long believed that the bunker had to go. It represents too much the MoL side of things and the whole ‘living below ground’ thing is way too underground / metaphorically bad. For me they need a real, healthy home which is in between Bobby’s hunter house and the MoL bunker. Hopefully they will find a nice modern MoL home with kit but that isn’t so hidden above ground somewhere next season to take over and make their own :D

2. Sam the MoL leader

“Real hunting isn’t just about killing, it’s about doing whats right… I want you to follow me”. We have wanted this for Sam all season, the MoL story fits his personal arc so well (so did Eileen, still bitter), this is Sam’s endgame. Sam said just moments earlier that he didn’t want to lead, but now he is, because it is necessary and because he is good at it. I believe he will now see that this is what he wants and will work towards this for his endgame.

This then leads to…

3. Dean and Sam - ending the brodependency and Dean as Sam’s parent

Dean lets Sam go, the dialogue is amazing. “You’re ready for this… you got this” paralleled with an actual mom/daughter conversation between Jody and Alex.

Dean literally talks to Sam like a parent letting their child go off to college and I had to pause this for a long long moment to process and scream “they’re actually going there!” not even knowing what was coming next… man…

Then comes the Mary / Dean scene.

4. Dean and Mary

This was always going to be what Mary led to for Dean’s arc. After Amara had started this addressing of Dean’s facade in season 11 and Mary is basically an extension of Amara this season re: Dean (in the same way that she still has to influence Sam’s arc re: Lucifer, that is for next season). I LOVED how BLATANT and textual they made this, the actual lack of subtext because it was all in the ACTUAL TEXT!

Firstly, Dean considers letting Toni go, which I had expected, to show the difference between our boys (morality) and the MoL as monsters.

Then… “Dad was just a shell…I had to be a father and a mother to keep him safe, and that wasnt fair, and I couldnt do it, and you wanna know what that was like? They killed the girl that he loved, he got possessed by Lucifer, they tortured him in hell and he lost his soul…But I forgive you, for everything.” MY HEART!

Ok, yeah, they did the thing, they brought Jess up 30 mins before killing the guy that Dean loves after not mentioning her for…. A DECADE? And paralleling one of the few scenes we ever saw her in with Dean/Cas too? After we already had the parallel with Dean seeing Cas when driving along, same as Sam did? So, only the scene of Sam and Jess in the bar and the scene where Dean actually meets her haven’t been paralleled now with Dean/Cas? I’M LIVING!

But seriously. The rest is exactly what we, the audience needed to understand Dean and to show casual viewers Dean’s inner angst in order to understand the facade coming down, this is exactly what Dean needed. He has come full circle, this is the start of the culmination of the end of Performing!Dean (which Jensen has no said at Jibcon will be furthered in season 13!).

Dean actually TELLS Mary in his mind that he hates her, but that he loves her. That he had to be Sam’s mother and father, and that it wasn’t FAIR. This is so important, that he didnt just say that it happend and that it sucked, but that it wasn’t FAIR and that he did not DESERVE IT.

This is Dean addressing not just his mother but how HE feels about it, how he feels about HIMSELF, that he is saying that he DESERVES MORE and has SELF WORTH.

These are all the words I have been using since 12x01 re: Dean . I’m so happy!

5. Ketch kills Toni, Mary kills Ketch after Dean beats him to a pulp, PERFECT, Jody kills Hess, again perfect.

This had to happen to keep our boys on the ‘don’t kill humans unless they HAVE to’ side, especially after Dean considered letting Toni go. Thank you.

6. Winchester family reunion

Sam’s forgiveness of Mary, Dean’s reaction to the happy family hug (it’s great but someone is missing…). “Who we are… we kick ass. We save the world”

SAM AND DEAN ARE ACCEPTING THEMSELVES THIS SEASON. In 12x09 Sam said it, now Dean says it. After all the angst this episode and for Dean all season…

This whole episode was for me the culmination of the deconstruction of Performing!Dean this season, which has been the main theme carried through on the character - driven side of things, it was beautiful.

In many ways I view this as the character - led season finale and 12x23 as the plot - led season finale (which I will post my thoughts on right up next).

I cannot WAIT to see the result of this episode come across next season.

We have not only now Performing!Dean pretty much dead or on his way out, the Dean Winchester is going to die metaphor was fully used and was fantastic, but coupled with Cas being brutally taken away from Dean, the parallels with 2 key canon romantic couples (Sam/Jess and Cain/Colette) in this within SECONDS of each other, plus the Jibcon revelations that we will see more of Dean’s reaction to this in season 13, apparently crying (and Jared not even hiding Destiel jokes now) make me pretty much 100% convinced Destiel is really endgame now.

Aside from this we now have Dean accepting himself, his internal self acceptance arc coming to a close, Sam’s MoL arc coming up and I will touch on the other aspects of the story for Sam in the next post as they are relevant to Lucifer / Jack, and Cas’s arc too…

Season 13 is already set up for exactly the endgame I am wishing for!

Tink’s Endgame Wishlist :

- Mol! Sam (and Eileen, Chuck I’m still bitter about that though, I really hoped her death would turn out to be a misdirection). Pretty much CHECK.

- Hunter / Mol collaboration with Sam and Dean as leaders. Pretty much CHECK.

- End of the brodependency, Dean acknowledging he was Sam’s parent and letting him go. CHECK.

- End of Performing!Dean. Pretty much CHECK.

- Human!Cas and self worth and belonging for his arc. TBA probably next season, what happened this season makes no sense if not to lead to this.

- Destiel. Pretty much CHECK. (And now after seeing Jibcon and the boys just joking about it all the time? Yeah, I don’t think they have an issue with this!).

Okay, this might be one of my favorite Wolfgang/Kala moments this season because look how protective Wolfgang is. Lila doesn’t know Kala, she doesn’t even know Kala’s name. At this point, Lila is no threat to Kala. On the other hand, Lila is very much a threat to Wolfgang. But Wolfgang’s immediate instinct is not to protect himself. It’s to protect Kala.

My South Side Girl (Jughead x Reader)

200 Writing Prompts: “Can I please have a jughead fic with prompts 147, 73, 154?” –Anonymous

Imagine: You’ve always despised Jughead Jones III. But when a mystery comes up and you go to find out the truth, it’s only natural that Jughead tag along, and maybe learn a little bit about you too.

“You’re impossible!”

“Sorry if I have my own way of doing things, Princess.”

“Call me Princess one more time…”

You were in the most recent of your many spats with your so-called friend (you preferred the term arch-nemesis) Jughead Jones III. He was lucky you adored Betty and were borderline in love with Veronica or else you’d barely give him the time of day. Together, you had formed the three divas of Riverdale High School. Because of this, you often found yourself dragged into adventures with mysteries with the teen amateur detectives. Your surprising analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking made you a valuable asset to their team. You loved the adventure and suspense that came with spending time with the “Riverdale High Core Four”. However, a certain beanie-clad South Side boy always seemed to get on your nerves. You were like oil and high-end sparkling water–it just didn’t mix.

“Guys!” Veronica yelled at the two of you. You silenced and blushed, embarrassed for showing such unpleasant emotions to your friends. “We’ve got a lead.”

Archie leaned into his girlfriend, placing a hand on her shoulder as he read her laptop screen. “Looks like Councilman Johnson has a mysterious ranch a few hours from town. There’s bound to be a clue there.”

You were in the midst of investigating a slew of missing person’s reports that coincided oddly well with the installation of a new city councilman. Were the missing people perhaps his personal enemies? Or victims of something more perverse?

“We need to go there,” You said. “I can go tomorrow!”

“Me too!” Jughead said.

“Oh, sorry guys, I’ve gotta study for AP World or else my mom is gonna kill me…” Betty said, looking away.

“Yeah, Coach is making us train in the off-season,” Archie said.

“I wouldn’t be caught dead near some ranch,” Veronica said, rolling her eyes.

“Well, I guess that leaves…” You said.

“You and me,” Jughead finished with a scowl.

You both packed up and left the room. This was going to be a long week.

Upon your exit, Veronica giggled. “This is perfect!”

“Perfect!? Ronnie, they’re gonna kill each other,” Archie said.

“I think you’re thinking of another four-letter word that starts with a K,” Veronica said with a wink. “Some alone time on what is basically a rustic honeymoon is bound to get them to admit their repressed teen emotions for one another, and they’ll finally be in love and out of our hair.”

She grinned her beautiful, yet sinister Veronica Lodge grin. “It’s the perfect plan.”

Ah. Ah, right. And when this war is over, when you have a homeland free from humans, what do you think it’s going to be like? Do you know? Have you thought about it? Have you given it any consideration? Because you’re very close to getting what you want. What’s it going to be like? Paint me a picture. Are you going to live in houses? Do you want people to go to work? Will there be holidays? Oh! Will there be music? Do you think people will be allowed to play violins? Who’s going to make the violins? Well? Oh, you don’t actually know, do you? Because, like every other tantrumming child in history, Bonnie, you don’t actually know what you want. So, let me ask you a question about this brave new world of yours. When you’ve killed all the bad guys, and when it’s all perfect and just and fair, when you have finally got it exactly the way you want it, what are you going to do with the people like you? The troublemakers. How are you going to protect your glorious revolution from the next one? We’ll win.

I have no idea what the SG writers are planning (Trust No Bitch) but if they DO want to end Lena’s storyline at the end of s2 (and I have no sources, I’m just speculating), then do they really have to kill her off? Like can’t we just have her go off into the CW Vortex of Endless Plot Holes instead of killing her, ya know? Let her hang out with Maxwell Lord for a bit, where’s he at? Or go on a sabbatical to “Find Herself” with Cat Grant (ENDLESS FANFICTION OPPORTUNITIES). Then she could just randomly appear one day for funsies, seasons from now, talking about “Platonic Friendship” and perfect eyebrows.

can we talk about the imagery of marcus standing among his unconscious people, crying over what he had to do to save them, what he still has to do that will kill some of them? he’s right there among them, he’s in their ranks, fighting for them at every turn and they can’t see it. it’s who he has been since he begin this redemption arc. it’s the perfect imagery for him this season. it’s the picture to go along with when he tells indra “i know how this looks but trust me, we’re still trying to save everyone.” i’m eternally heartbroken over the fact that so few people ever get to see everything he does to save them.

This is all I ask for
  • Me: *sleeping soundly on Monday morning*
  • Me: *shuts alarm off and groans*
  • I would rather lose a limb than go today, maybe even rip out all my hair *whimpers* kill me
  • *door bursts open*
  • Sam: For a life of adventure where you don't need school
  • Cas: All you need is us!
  • Me:
  • Me: Don't gotta tell me twice *grabs bag of clothes and hops in and drives off never to be seen again*
Changing ships

A little late but here is a ramble about my thoughts I had for a while.

It’s really weird but ever since my friend made me watch Voltron, I shipped Klance immediately! That “I cradled you in my arms” moment killed me. Every day before going to work and after coming from work, I would always look at Klance in tumblr. Saved it in my favourites.
“These two are super cute! Like that scene where their foreheads were touching, they should just kiss!!”
When Keith teases Lance after getting his Lion back was great!
And when season 2 came, that pool scene was so great! They were even locking arms, OMG!! They need to be canon! Like Korrasami! They are so perfect together! Opposite pieces to a whole!

I shipped Klance wholly while shipping Sheith on the side. I’ve never seen shipping hate. That was until I finished season 2 and was so touched with the Sheith scenes. I went on the Sheith tag more, and saw people posting about fans attacking a VA in social media because of Sheith, a “fictional” ship…calling people pedophiles, and spreading hate. Who has the time to question someone’s morals about a fictional show, where there’s not even a shred of evidence about their age. We’re not even sure if Pidge is as young as she is. I’m 24 but I get mistaken for a minor all the time. I’ve heard that some of the antis were Klance shippers but I didn’t believe them. I believed we can ship what we want and respect others’ ship. But as often as I went to the Sheith tag, artists and authors were sharing the bad comments they get in their question boxes and I’m just…why? If I don’t like something I avoid it. Don’t attack those who are wonderfully contributing to a ship they like for others’ happiness.

Somehow, after that I don’t know when but I came more often to the Sheith tag than Klance. Everyone was very nice and lots of great art was passed around. Then that post where they replaced Shiro with Lance in Sheith scenes, saying “now it’s romantic”, crushed my trust in Klance. It was their moment! Their hug! Why? Just Why?

I re-watched Voltron from season 1 and now…I switched my main ship to Sheith, while shipping Klance on the side. They did have chemistry! My mind just quickly jumped on the Klance wagon because now I remember my friend saying it was the popular ship as we watched it. I still ship it, but not as much as I did when I started the show.

DW has said they already know where they are going with this. If the planned end game is the popular ship from the beginning, then okay. But if they have to change whatever plans they had before Klance became a major hit, just to appease the salty fans…then no. I want them to do what they had decided on when they started this project.

I will accept anything they give me! Those Kallura moments were also unexpected but I loved them soooo much. That’s one of the things I liked about Korrasami! It popped out of nowhere!

I’m so sorry guys but I think i’ll always be bitter with Emma...

Because we had this incredible beautiful view of our baby Even

I mean look at him! omg the glasses, the clothes, the way he’s sitting, his hair, his effortless cool swagger. It was a gift from the gods. The music, the aesthetic, the perfection…must I go on?

But then this happened…

and then this

and soon…

Emma made Even disappear. I just I can’t let this go. the only scene we had of sunglasses Even, and Emma cut it short with her blurry head 😭

Isak’s reaction to this cruelty

My humble The 100 predictions

Ok…here’s a few of my wild and possibly very likely predictions for the remaining episodes

- Octavia wins the conclave(probably thanks to an Illian sacrifice). Very unclear how…but pretty sure that Roan will survive because that guy is like a cockroach…in a good, survivory-Murphy type of way
- Raven tries to go up in space, but the Adventure Squad (basically just Clarke and Bellamy at this point…) stops her, saves her, gives her nightblood AND THE FLAME to stop her brain from deteriorating. Clarke is probably not aware that this dooms her mom to dying
- Jasper will die. I’m almost positive about this…mostly because he wrote a suicide note that has yet to reappear, and Monty is conveniently still in Arkadia to read it.
- Monty and Harper ditch the suicide crew and somehow get to the island with the rest of the Adventure Squad (I mean…the boat IS on the other side…), possibly because Monty and Harper are still not on The List, which leads me to my next point…
- That list is definitely coming back, guys. Because The 100 does not create horrible moral complexities for our leads that end up meaning nothing (LOLOL ok but work with me on this one).
- ALSO, there were 100 Skaikru spots…there are 12 clans (thanks to Luna’s conveniently extinct clan) and 1200 spaces to fill in a bunker…Like that math is just too perfect not to work out that way
- BUT Clarke, Bellamy, Raven (The List) are still on the island with the rocket ship, not in Polis with the bunker…and there might not be time to get back before Praimfaya. Here’s betting that they make plans for them, plus Monty, Harper, Murphy and Emori (since they aren’t on the list?) to head up in the rocket ship
- But then of course, we have the lovely finale script leaks, where Clarke gets left behind and radiation sickness. And as much as this KILLS me to admit, I’m pretty sure this will happen, because of two reasons: One, the 100 loves a good parallel, and Bellamy “flipping the switch” to leave Clarke behind is a perfect cap to a string of Season 1 parallels. Number two, Abby’s vision was SPECIFICALLY confirmed to be true (we’re not going to get into the shaky world-building this creates) and The 100 DOES NOT BACK DOWN ON PROMISES TO HURT CHARACTERS
- that being said, this does NOT mean that Clarke will die. Luna got incredibly sick before recovering, and the same will likely happen to Clarke.
- However, this ends with Clarke alone, on the ground, in the lighthouse, possibly for 5 years. Going crazy. Again. Which seems like too much of a season 3 retread for me to totally land on. But more on this later because…
- FIVE YEARS??? FIVE FRICKIN YEARS?? This is going to be rough fam, no matter how this is sliced. Will there be a time jump? Will they take it in bits and pieces? ARE BELLAMY AND CLARKE REALLY GOING TO BE SEPARATED FOR FIVE YEARS? Especially since…
- that ship CANNOT hold more than one person for an extended period of time. Which means they will have to return to the good old Ark we know is still floating around up there (WITH ALÍE!!!!!). How they will survive on limited oxygen and food is interesting though because…
- Guys. Cryosleep. We saw it in the article behind Raven. And this would effectively solve the problem for the Space Adventure Squad (and relieve any missing character development aka #BellarkeSeparation). But what this also means is…
-CADOGAN AND HIS CREW ARE 10000000% STILL IN CRYOSLEEP. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS NOT TRUE. Yes, some of them clearly got out and became the Grounders…but my money is on Cadogan still being in cryosleep. Jury is out on who discovers this little tidbit, but my money is on wandering Clarke. (Who maybe will go into cryosleep too?? Idk all this sci-fi is hurting my little dystopian brain and it’s about time for me to wrap this up.

So all that list to say…I HAVE NO CLUE BEYOND THESE THINGS:
1. Jasper will die.
2. The List lives
3. Raven gets nightblood and the commander chip to survive. (Cue endless jokes about Raven being in charge)
4. Adventure Squad in Space
5. If Raven lives, Abby dies. And vice versa.
7. Bellarke? I’m honestly so confused by their development this season that I’ve convinced myself not to expect any romantic developments over the canonically SIX DAYS LEFT ON EARTH. Although I WOULD put money on Bellamy admitting his feelings before Clarke gets to respond and they are SEPARATED FOR FIVE YEARS IM FINE IM FINE IM-

Top 10 The Leftovers Moments:

On Sunday night The Leftovers will conclude its three seasons and 28 episodes run and never will a show have had such a profound impact on its audience over such a short period. Over the coming I will write a lot about my absolute love for it and about where I think it ranks among TV’s best shows. For now though here are ten moments (in no particular order) that encapsulate this show’s unique brilliance and that for different reasons will stay with me for a very long time.

Kevin karaoke (I Live Here Now):
Throughout its run The Leftovers has often been divisive (as this list shall reflect) but this scene is one no one can question. When Kevin woke in a hotel two episodes before it was an incredible “wtf” moment and an all round classic episode. To return two episodes later could have been pushing it (with Kevin’s exasperation upon again waking up in the hotel reflecting the audience’s uncertainty) but then it turned into something. Kevin has to sing karaoke to leave the afterlife and everything about the scene is perfection. Homeward Bound could be too obvious a choice but no it just works. The little flashes to previous moments could also be a little on the nose, but they fit. Justin Theroux can’t sing but he acts the scene so perfectly. Even the lighting adds an extra layer to an already unforgettable moment. If David Lynch watches TV it must have been one of those very rare occasions that warranted him thinking I wish I had come up with this.

Nora walks in on Kevin with a bag over his face (Don’t Be Ridiculous):
The second episode of season 3 is full of ambitious and (if I may use that word again) unforgettable moments, from Wu Tang Clan tattoos, Perfect Strangers crossovers and trampolines but this scene stands out to me. Leftover’s naysayers will point to its almost overwhelming depression but I think this scene tells us something about how the show really feels. The Leftovers is not a show about people who are so broken that they just have to kill themselves, instead it is a show about people who are broken enough that they have to occasionally suffocate themselves to remind themselves that they want to live. Dark as that may sound it allows for just the littlest bit of light and optimism to make sure watching the show is not the unbearable experience that some people claim it is.

Nora vs Erica (Lens):
The Leftovers is one if not the single best acted show ever and in addition to this Carrie Coon’s performance might just be one of the greatest ever on TV. Regina King though is not far behind and she matches her emotional gut-punch for emotional gut-punch. More often than not every single hour of this crazy, absurd show boils down a single conversation between two damaged people trying to figure out how they can go on existing and this is the best of those sorts of scenes. The extreme closes ups of both actors emphasizes the greatness of both performances and rarely has a conversation between two neighbors been so incredibly devestating and oddly thrilling.

Nora gets a hug (Guest):
I’ll talk more about my feelings on the divisive first season in the next entry but suffice to say when I rank the show’s best episode the first season will certainly be represented high up on the list and Guest will certainly be very near the top. The episode is The Leftover’s at its best, its a perfectly crafted hour of TV exploring the show’s most fascinating character Nora Durst. It all comes to a climax when Nora meets Holy Wayne and he hugs away her pain. Whether Holy Wayne was in any way holy remains ambiguous throughout the show but in that moment it does not matter. Never has a character’s relief felt so palpable to an audience.

Kevin shoots the dogs (Pilot):
Okay season 1 is not as good as 2 or 3 but it is still an incredible piece television and art. Season 1 is all about immersing yourself in something that is uncomfortable and ugly but real, grief. In particular the pilot is less an exploration or a town or a person but rather an emotion. The pilot becomes the perfect realization of what depression feels like and for some that was profound and for others it may have been too much. The pilot ends with Kevin succumbing and in many ways acknowledging what everyone in The Leftovers knows, that the world is truly broken in a way no one can fix. Kevin does by killing rabid dogs, whatever works.

Matt “that’s who I’ve been talking about” ( It’s a Matt, Matt World):
Has there ever been a more perfect end to an episode of television? God gets eaten by a lion and the priest who has recently come to an realization about his relationship with faith turns around to the camera to say “that’s the guy I’ve been talking about.” Cut to black. Need I say anymore. Its absurdist perfection, delivered by brilliantly by another incredible performer and the perfect cap to a great episode.

Laurie’s end (Certified):
Lots of the writing around season 3 has emphasized how funny it has been and Certified has a couple of hilarious moments of slapstick comedy but is ultimately nothing short of devestating. In the episode’s final moments we are let in on what the episode has been doing all this time. Laurie has been going round to counseling everyone for the last time. She talks to her husband, to her ex-husband, to Nora and Matt and then finally to her daughter and son, for the last time. The Leftover’s has TV’s best soundtrack but no music need accompany what are presumably Laurie’s final moments alive.

Where is my mind-conclusion of S2 (I Live Here Now) :
As I just said The Leftovers has TV’s best soundtrack and throughout season two it uses various iterations of (one of my personal favorite songs) Where is my Mind by the Pixies. Its a song that has been used a lot in pop culture since it closed the final moments of Fight Club but rarely has it been as well used as in The Leftovers. The end of season 2 sees John walk in on Kevin bleeding out from a shot that should have killed him. Their interaction is so perfectly bro-ish even after John shot Kevin and that exchange where John says “I don’t know what’s going on” and Kevin responds “me to” is just perfect, particularly when Maxence Cyrin’s piano cover of Where is My Mind is playing. Kevin then walks home to find everyone that he loves sitting there. Life still poses its difficulties but for that moment all is okay for Kevin and co.

Erica on the bridge (I Live Here Now):
Another moment from the season 2 finale (i could have picked all ten from that single episode) and this moment strikes me as a bit of an acid-test one for viewers of The Leftovers. Erica runs to Evie and tries to drag her away and when she screams at Evie asking her why she is doing this Evie just responds with you know why. For some that could be a slight piss take but for me I felt like I just got that moment, if not logically, emotionally and I’ve definitely had tears both times I’ve watched that scene.

Jeopardy (International Assassin):
The episode The Leftover’s is likely to be most remembered for (depending on how this finale goes) is International Assassin. I had to pick a moment from it and the one I’ve gone for comes very near the end of the episode as Patti delivers a long monologue that in the beginning is about the game-show Jeopardy but ends all about an abused women’s struggle for anything good and meaningful in life. This is what The Leftovers does time and time again, it takes something silly and absurd and makes it truly profound. That’s The Leftovers for you.

#relationship goals #best part of the trailer #their smiles killed me #specially Gaston’s #he is looking at her the same way he did after they kissed #excuse me while i go cry #because they are so beautiful and perfect

anonymous asked:

S5 Revisited - can someone explain to me why Quinn left Jonas' care and tried to kill himself? I have blocked many of the S5 episodes from memory because even then I didn't understand the dark turn they were taking with Q's character. I always thought it they wanted to kill him off, it would make perfect sense for him to die in the line of duty that season but never understood why they first went so dark as to have him try to kill himself if they knew they were going to gas him later.

There’s a reason why season five is called CFS5, aka clusterfuck season 5.

Ridiculous Premise:
Jonas was about to call an ambulance and Quinn overheard the phone call. Quinn was convinced if he were found in a hospital or morgue it would seal Carrie’s fate (=death) because whoever wanted Carrie dead would know that Quinn didn’t kill her and someone else would finish the job. (Nevermind that Quinn doubtless had multiple identities. In fact, they were just digging up Carrie’s back up plan in the prior fucking episode - and she didn’t even work for the CIA.)

Illogical Reaction:
With nowhere to turn Quinn tried to dispose his own life and body where no one would find him, hence his hilarious efforts to plasticuff himself to a bloody cinderblock. Because, y’know, why call Dar and get some donuts and antibiotics? (Oh, and who can forget the dumpster diving? Cue laughter across the globe.)

Martyr Motivation:
This act wasn’t driven by his own death wish - exactly - but by his devotion to Carrie. He was willing to give his own life to safe hers. (Because every man must love Carrie in S5.)

Shark Jumping:
Why he then miraculously stumbled into a Saint Hussein who happened to be a doctor and who happened to live in an apartment full of jihadists who - surprise surprise! - were planning a sarin gas attack and needed a fucking guinea pig. I mean… what’s there to say? That’s what you get when you put a bunch of random Muslims together in an apartment in Berlin, right?…  Voila! Terrorists! Like, WHAT? CF. Utterly.

Clearly after S4 the writers lost direction of where they want to take this show generally and Quinn’s character specifically.

Ftwd has always been a little racist in a (its not perfect) kind of way

But this whole season 3 arc is…really bad…

In my mind, theres no side but the Native America side
Seeing them burning their tipis (which isnt accurate) amd taking their relics and killing their people and just its super gross
Using words like barbaric and savage
Alicia dismissing what Walker was talking about the native GENOCIDE and RACISM he experience’s as a native person was gross as hell

Travis dying also was like
Yeah you got ophelia and daniel and strand but like
of course you kill off the two poc in the family to leave the white family

Walker is not a bad guy
They are not barbaric
They are not any worse then the Ranch

And this show is going down an extremely dissapointing path

And I really hope Walker and his people get what is rightfully theirs
maybe some compromise but idk

48 hours after the Christmas Special

- The Kalagang opening scene

- Hernando FUENTES (!!!) as an art professor

- Amanita CAPLAN !!!! I just hope she got some “me time” by the end of the season 2 because she looks like she‘s done.

- I SCREAMED at “speaking of faces… I must say you’re looking a little different these days. - New barbershop !”

- My baby Sun with Soo-Jin and her drawing of her dog and the “WELCOME HOME” scene

They have to drop an entire episode with Sun beating the shit out of Joong-Ki and then when she’s done each of the sensates takes turn beating him too. He needs to go.

- Worlwide Birthday party.

- Tina Desai as Kala DANDEKAR. That’s it.

She killed it and i hope she keep shining during season 2.

- “It costs me the only thing I have ever really wanted” and then Kala appears

- “WE ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER” No just kill me and it will be better seriously

- THE SNOW FIGHT and the “ohh shit” from Kala

- And please stop with the “we are going to kiss and it’s going to be beautiful and save the world” and they don’t because i didn’t wait all this time for this !!!

- She broke Rajan’s dick. you know this a bad omen. The mariage is doomed and we get a divorce by the end of season 2. YAY!!!

I’m mad they made her marry Rajan but i get it I guess. She doesn’t want to just be Wolfie savior and wants to be better and have a non my-safety-and-my-lover-safety-are-in-danger-everyday  life with Rajan.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m also mad they didn’t show us the wedding or at least a scene when she made the decision to marry Rajan. You have people saying she’s stupid, needs to grow up and make up her mind when she chooses to build something with Rajan knowing she will never return the love he has for her.

- And can we talk about Rajan ? I want him to stay good but like duuude you finally get married, you have concerns because you two have not had sex on your honeymoon in beautiful Positano and you gonna ask HER MOTHER is she’s a virgin instead of talking to her????????????????????????????????????????? And also when he was ready to leave Kala because he realised she did not love him and as soon as she said with winky eyes Let me decide tonight, everything is okay now??????????????????? SMH messy

- Finally RIP to this scene that we will never see :

Waiting for May 5th

if i could have written the fear the walking dead mid-season finale it would have ended with alicia being the one to kill jeremiah and then leaving the ranch to head out on her own. it would have been a perfect way to lead to the next stage in the development of her character as she would go from killing someone in a moment of panic to protect travis, to killing someone in a very calculated and purposeful way while still being completely justified. it would then be the perfect way for her to cap, at least for the near future, her involvement with madison and nick, not being able to forgive their lying for troy about him killing the trimbol’s, and cleaning up their (and the ranch’s) mess one last time, wishing them luck in handling what is really a fresh start for them and the ranch, and going it alone because they still aren’t even close to being the family she deserves and she at this point is more than capable of taking care of herself. she decides to head north. to berkley. not because she thinks there’s anything there for her in particular, but because that’s where she was supposed to be going in the old world. that was supposed to be her fresh start, so why can’t it still be? then, when 3b starts, she crosses paths with victor, who has just had his own leaving-the-past-behind moment in burning the abigail. he is alone in the world, but he doesn’t want to be, and alicia with her newfound hardness, whom he can trust and would already feel a sense of camaraderie with, would be a perfect balance for what i think will be a new found softness in himself. he has nothing left in the world, but then, he has a friend again, and after everything he has lost, he’s not willing to lose her, so he goes with her on her journey to berkley to see if they can make a new start far from where they burried so much of their past. and it would never once be even hinted at being romantic or sexual in nature

*Lexa, a white lesbian in brownface/occasional bindi appropriation, dies*

y’all: This is so homophobic. How tf dare they kill Lexa. The 100 writers are so homophobic. Fuck them all and fuck this show. Her death didn’t make sense wtf. *Everyone is outraged and is spreading this like wildfire*#LGBTviewersdeservebetter #LexaDeservedBetter

*Poussey, a black lesbian, dies*

y’all: I totally understand why she died. It wasn’t racist. They were trying to make a statement on #BlackLivesMatter. Shut up saying it’s because of her sexuality and skin color. Poussey’s death was justifiable because it made a point about police brutality and made so much sense. So you can’t kill a poc/lgbt ever? And poussey’s death moved the plot forward. You don’t get to be mad that they killed Poussey. It’s a show trying to show very real situations. It’s based off someone’s experience. So I’m going to tell you that you’re not allowed to be mad. It had to be her. Stop getting mad.

ok first of all I loved Lexa and she didn’t deserve it but where are the posts and about the brutalized and senseless death of a black lesbian character when there were dozens and dozens and dozens of callout posts and boycotting posts for Lexa’s death in the 100. Where are the hashtags. I saw so many posts about Lexa’s death when I went to the 100 tag when Lexa died and when I go to the oitnb tag I only see like 10 posts and half of them are about how her death made so much sense and so. I know the season is out for like 3 days but most people have seen it. Everyone should be outraged and should be spreading this like wildfire just like everyone did with Lexa. This can not go unnoticed. And don’t  tell ppl how to feel about this. Especially the white ppl who are saying  that it made perfect sense to kill her off make me laugh. just shut up

Weiss and Winter are abuse victims

So I haven’t seen any posts about this but I feel like it’s worth talking about. I feel like Weiss is the most relatable character in RWBY. She’s struggled so much. I feel like her going back to be with her father is worse then the deaths of Penny and Pyrrha. Yes, it’s sad that they died, but Weiss has to go back and relive a secluded lifestyle of being put down. Now there are probably some of you that think I’m crazy and I’m going to prove it.

1. In season 1, Weiss is a bit of a bitch thinking that she’s entitled to being the leader. She also has the desire to be better then everyone else, because she probably didn’t have a choice to be anything less in her fathers eyes. Every mistake she made in his eyes disappointed him and maybe even disciplined her. It also makes her feel better when she puts down Jaune, making her feel better about her insecurities.

Although Weiss is supposedly 17, this type of behavior is commonly found in middle schoolers and early high schoolers that bully others to make themselves feel better.

2. In season 3, it was practically confirmed that her father summoned the knight that we see in the White trailer. Winter mentioning that Weiss needs him probably makes her feel weak and she desperately wants to prove she isn’t. Winter also “disobeyed” their father by joining the military.

Unlike Weiss, Winter seems to have accepted the discourse between them. Winter also supports Weiss not talking to their father, but also seems worried about her when he is mentioned. Winter also shows concern about Weiss’s well being, more then her academic accomplishments. She has her reasons to be worried. She doesn’t want her being put down by their father and feel bad about herself. Winter is also more encouraging to Weiss saying that it’s okay if she doesn’t get her summoning right away as long as she practices and tries her best. But Weiss still gets frustrated probably because she has been expected to be perfect.

3. Also, in season 3, when Weiss looks at her phone to see it’s her father calling, she seems uncomfortable and who wouldn’t be? Being a person who was in that type of situation, it’s the same old shit. If you answer the phone, that person is just going to put you down, even though you’re just trying to move on and better yourself.

That plane ride of her sitting next to her father silent, that just kills me. Like he looks pissed and she’s upset and uncomfortable. Having to go back to being like she isn’t good enough just hurts.

Weiss has also grown so much since Season 1. Season 1, she didn’t care about Faunus’, because they made her have a “very difficult childhood”. Now she’s willing to put herself in harms way to save Velvet.

sansa and tyrion are going to literally kill me this season

they’re both so miserable right now but don’t realize how happy they could be together because they are both victims and just want to be loved and they could be so good for each other and ugh why do i do this to myself

why do i always choose the pairings that kill me
