Damage Control

Barbara and Walter have a moment.

Setting: While Jim is out taking a much-needed weekend trip with his friends, Walter and Barbara have the house to themselves. A conversation happens that was long overdue.

Timeline: Hypothetically Season 2-ish. Some time in the future-ish. That’s not very helpful, is it?

Spoilers: YES

[I just had to write a scene for the two of them, because they’re the death of me. I had this idea of Walt bringing up his identity on his own terms, with some insecurity, like in a dark room.]

remember the maze training scene coran made keith and lance do? and lance flipped out and blamed keith for leading him in the wrong direction?

well, keith says “take two steps forward, turn right, and take three steps that direction” but,,,

hes leading him to a dead end?? when the walls turn invisible lance is still facing that direction bc the control station is still behind him

and even if he was facing another direction it still wouldn’t pan out

and keith even says “you’re not listening” when hes legit leading him to a dead end. there is nowhere for lance to go. has keith ever done a maze before? does he know how it works? or is he just being super petty???

either way, lance was actually right, keith was doing it on purpose. savage.

I went to see Rogue One again (because I have no self control) and I live in Texas where about sixty percent of the population is Hispanic, so a father brought his entire family of four boys and two girls, all ranging between twelve and five to see the movie. The boys were all freaking out because of course its Star Wars, and they loved Cassian, talking about how cool he was and they loved Jyn (especially during her badass scene versus some Stormtroopers) but the greatest part was at the very end when they revealed Princess Leia. I wasn’t expecting it but all of the boys all at once jumped up and went “OMG! THERE SHE IS! IT”S PRINCESS LEIA!!! SHE”S HERE TO SAVE US!!!!”

These boys had been so excited to see Darth Vader, Cassian, and other characters but they lost their minds because Princess Leia was here to save the universe. That is what Carrie Fisher’s legacy is.

Taking into consideration the spoilers from episode that are popping up all over the place, I think it’s time that we talked about this scene because it is so relevant right now.

From the surface, it looks like a skating legend asking his fellow competitor if he wants to take a photo for the memories.  But assuming this happens after the drunken Yuuri scene, this is Viktor Nikiforov wanting a photo of him and his crush because he genuinely doesn’t know when he’s going to get a chance to see him again.  This is Viktor trying to keep his cool because he has an image to keep up and it would be out of character to jump Yuuri no matter how much he wants to.  Also we should take into account that he could feel Yuuri staring at him and had to control himself.  #mutual pining

#everyone seems to have a different take on this scene so i don’t know what to do #i just assumed they were all leaving since everyone seems to have their luggage #someone just tell me where they are exactly

“Every choice you’ve ever made, every path you’ve ever taken, the man you are today, is your memory of Euros.” ~Mycroft, TFP.

Not “your memory of Euros MADE you the man you are today.” The man you are today IS your memory of Euros.

Every choice, every path…consider all of Sherlock’s talk in TST and TLD about premonition, about how if you had ALL the data in the world you could predict EVERYTHING, “by the pricking of my thumbs,” etc etc.

Now consider what Culverton Smith says about TD12. These drip streams will keep the drug in your bloodstreams at exactly the right levels. Remember Janine tampering with Sherlock’s morphine levels? Remember Mary the nurse, and Cam in the deleted scene, standing over Sherlock’s hospital bed? Remember Sherlock on the plane, insisting he was in control of his using––right before he OD’d? Sherlock has taken TD12, but the levels were out of control. Nothing that is happening to you right now will stay with you for more than a few minutes. I’m afraid that some of the memories you’ve had up to this point might also be…corrupted. There’s a virus in Sherlock’s data, in his brain. His memories are corrupted. And who has claimed to be the virus in the data? Moriarty, of course.

It’s not just that Sherlock doesn’t recognize Euros. Sherlock doesn’t seem to be aware that he has another sibling at all. We see flashes of them in childhood, with Redbeard, coming back to him, but they’re blurry.

Not sure what the TD stands for, but the 12 makes me think of time. All the seemingly unnecessary shots we’ve been getting of clocks, closeups of character’s watches, tick tock tick tock.

All these theories, John’s alibi and EMP and many others, they’re not desperate excuses for otherwise inexplicable episodes. By having a villain introduce the memory inhibitor TD12 –– and call it “bliss,” yet tell us that some people with “urges” do opt out of taking it –– the writers have clearly set up some sort of massive memory/time-related rug pull for the finale. The man you are today IS your corrupted memory.

We’re in Sherlock’s mind. His mind is corrupted. We can’t trust what we’ve been seeing.

Say what you want but those Jace and Valentine scenes were SO FUCKING WELL DONE. That’s manipulation for you, that’s abusive behavior, that’s a fucking mastermind villain mentally handicapping a young man, turning him completely dependent while making him question his inner goodness and the very possibility of him ever being good to begin with.

Valentine is not only gaslighting Jace, he’s making Jace believe he’s inherently evil and that Valentine is his only option. He makes grand speeches about how horrible demon blood is, right after telling Jace he has demon blood in his veins. Valentine equals having demon blood to being out of control and then proceed to take control away from Jace. He plays on Jace’s good instincts by taking him to that vampire den, putting him in an impossible situation and then, when Jace refuses to kill Maria, Valentine is the one who entices Maria to attack, which ultimate leads Jace to kill her. Valentine is the reason Jace broke the Accords in that scene. He is the one pushing Jace over the edge again and again and using downworlders in order to do it.

It wasn’t for nothing that Valentine threw himself in front of Jace when Jocelyn shot him with that arrow. He could’ve pushed Jace out of the way, attacked Jocelyn, he could’ve done a number of other things, but no. He took the arrow “for Jace”.

Episode 2 will have Valentine telling Jace how much he cares for him, I have no doubt. Valentine will be throwing in his face that he’d save Jace’s life in the expense of his own. And from his evil mother! The one who does not care for Jace, that left him to die. Who is the villain when your father is saving your life and your mother is trying to kill you?

Urg, great storytelling. Also, make it stop. Protect Jace 2k17.

Leo Love Matches

Aries: As fire signs, these two are in sync, and have a good understanding and knowingness, almost like a code they and only they, understand. It’s a Star-Connection! Taurus: There is attraction between these two, but the trouble starts when the time comes to decide, which one of them is going to take the lead? Gemini: As a general rule, Gemini prefers to be behind the scenes and Leo out-front, which can set up an incompatibility, but it can also complement. If they support each other’s dreams, it can work. Cancer: This match can work, but not without compromise. Leo is clearly the boss, but Cancer will often have the last say. A sincere love can oversee any challenge. Leo: These two fire signs can be more interested in themselves than each other. But, if a strong friendship is built, they will always come back to each other. Virgo: This can be a difficult match. Leo wants to take control and Virgo takes orders from no one. However, they do have a great appreciation for each other’s intelligence and creativity. Libra: This dynamic duo shine together, particularly on the social scene. They look after each other and can go the full distance with a love forever. Scorpio: Strong passionate signs; a connection between this fire and water duo can be intensely powerful. But as such, you will need to watch out for power struggles. Sagittarius: Both fire signs, they understand each other. A magnificent partnership. Passionate, but can also be competitive. Capricorn: If their goals are aligned, it can work, otherwise there is difficulty if they both compete for the limelight. Both want to take the lead. Aquarius: When it’s good, it’s amazing, when it’s not, both can be stubborn. There is need for a willingness to give and forget. Pisces: A commitment to love can make this an amazing love story. There is a mindfulness needed for gentle romance and mutual respect.

This is definitely not everything, but here’s all the things in s4 that I saw predicted on my dash by tjlc people:

• Sherlock having a secret sister.
• Sherlock going back to drugs (after the estrangement news)
• Mary dying/ faking her death
• Some sort of scene where Sherlock loses control of his mind
• Agra not being “Mary’s” initials
• John blaming Sherlock for “Mary’s” death
• what clips were in what episodes
• Culverton sponsoring/ owning a hospital
• the return of jealous john in some form
• john crying and Sherlock holding him(!)
• Sherlock starting to eat more
• John initially punching Sherlock to snap him out of a drug induced state
• Flashbacks to Sherlock’s childhood
• Mrs Hudson pushing John and Sherlock back together

It seems to me that we’re pretty damn good at predicting things.

In 1968, the Star Trek cast and ocrew were filming the episode “Plato’s Stepchildren,” which featured aliens using mind control to force Captain Kirk (William Shatner) to make out with Communications Officer Uhura (Nichelle Nichols). You know: standard classic Star Trek stuff. Star Trek just wasn’t Star Trek if Kirk wasn’t being goaded by an alien god into some sort of sexual harassment. But when it came time to shoot that scene, the director and some NBC suits got uncomfortable – not because of the weird consent issues (this was the ‘60s, after all; slapping a woman was considered foreplay), but because Nichols is black. Up until that point, scripted interracial kisses on television just weren’t done. The actors wanted to shoot the scene as it was, but since they weren’t in charge, there was only one thing they could do: sabotage.

Show creator Gene Roddenberry had suggested a compromise: they’d shoot two versions of the scene, one with the kiss, and one with a hug, and use whichever worked better. Everyone knew which version NBC was going to want to use, but luckily Shatner had a plan. See, a director can’t see exactly what the camera is picking up – only the camera operator can. So while they were shooting the versions of the scene that would preserve the purity of the white race, Shatner positioned himself so that the director couldn’t see his face, stared right into the camera, and made a bunch of stupid faces.

The director, thinking he’d won, immediately called a wrap and sent everyone home. It wasn’t until they were going over the dailies that they realized what had happened. They were forced to run the scene as originally scripted, resigning themselves to having to face an explosion of controversy that (twist!) never happened.

Truly, it was a leap forward for human rights, although whether Shatner was fighting for the progression of society or just couldn’t stand to miss an opportunity to get busy on national television is anybody’s guess.

6 Sneaky Ways Movies and TV Shows Outsmarted the Censors

I’m just going to say it.

It is stupid to compare the scene in which Kagura gives CPR to Jellal to the scene where Lucy gives body heat to Natsu. This is all for one very simple reason:

Kagura doesn’t like Jellal.

I don’t even mean this in the romantic sense of “like”. When I say “doesn’t like” in this instance, I’m referring to the fact that Kagura hated Jellal. Up until the end of the Grand Magic Games, Kagura wanted to kill Jellal - and was willing to kill Erza for defending him. It was only after Ultear revealed that she was controlling Jellal at the time and Erza showed her kindness by pushing her out of the way of danger that Kagura decided to not outright assassinate Jellal. Even after she decided to not murder him, she still doesn’t hold him in a high regard. She still called him a scoundrel, and there was a moment where she was debating to let him die. So of cooooooooooourse it’s not romantic. She hated his guts. Now she might not hate his guts enough to want him dead. YAY? Kagura didn’t save Jellal because she cared about Jellal. She saved Jellal because Erza cared about him, and Kagura has adopted Erza as her big sister. Kagura even recognizes Erza’s feelings - hence why she gave Erza a kiss, giving her an indirect kiss.

Lucy already adores Natsu.

It’s no big secret. If you’ve been keeping up with Fairy Tail for the past year and are not in constant denial, you can probably guess that Lucy has feelings for Natsu. She might not be explicit in expressing them, but they are heavily implied. What was Lucy’s reaction when Brandish enlarged Natsu’s tumor? What was the last thought that Lucy had before she lost consciousness against Dimaria? What was Lucy’s reaction after waking up? How did she act after she found Natsu? Obviously, the author is trying to portray the fact that Lucy cares a lot for Natsu. That’s what makes her being willing to cuddle with him naked a heartwarming moment. There is a context of intimacy between Natsu and Lucy’s relationship that simply isn’t mirrored between Jellal and Kagura’s relationship. That’s what can make a moment romantic versus non-romantic, because close intimacy is often a precursor to romantic development. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not an action is a medical action to save someone’s life, or some other crap like that. Saying that “Both moments are actions taken to save another person’s life. Therefore, both moments must both be interpreted equally as romantic or non romantically” is a non-sequitur. It’s a fallacy that avoids having to deal with the main point of what makes something romantic, which are typically displays of intimacy, declarations of affection, or willingness to self-sacrifice.

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: for fourteen years now, hayden christensen has gotten so much hate for playing anakin, when, realistically, he did such a good job. hayden not only acted anakin skywalker as the perfect angst-ridden, overeager, self-destructive-for-the-sake-of-trying-to-save-something-much-more-important person that anakin was, but he really Got the character. coupled with cheesy lines, a fucking greenscreen in EVERY SCENE HE HAD TO ACT IN, and direction that kept telling him to pull back when he could have been playing anakin at full capacity, i think that his portrayal of anakin was spot on. hayden spent so much of the movies shaking and vibrating and fucking TREMBLING with pent up anger and frustration and rage and passion and love, simmering constantly with the war inside of anakin to save padmé; save the one person in his life that he loved more than ANYTHING. even while pulling back as much as george lucas directed him to, you can clearly see the way that anakin was being torn apart from the very beginning of attack of the clones, while juxtaposing that by acting like a whiny angsty teenager, who wanted to be viewed as great as he thought he was on the road to becoming. you could clearly see his grapple with power coming out through not only foreshadowing (which attack of the clones did a stellar job with displaying), but in hayden's acting of anakin. even in lighter scenes with padmé, you can see some of that anger and passion seeping and slipping through. you could see glimpses and fragments of the person anakin was turning into in spite of everything he did to try and stop his worst nightmares from coming true. hayden showed the essence of who anakin was as a man, as the monster he turned into (in a horribly, disastrously misguided attempt to save the woman that was his whole world). hayden christensen played anakin skywalker the best he fucking could under the shitty circumstances he was given and i will defend him until i die and then beyond the grave

The gorgeous Danielle Panabaker aka Dr Caitlin “Frosty” Snow in her iconic blue ensemble ~ seems like she’s the one behind the computer controls this time (since they’re at Starlabs warehouse!) and one of the lucky ones who gets to sit in a chair while everyone has to stand around hehe…. ;) hopefully she’ll get to help out using her frosty powers at least once.

first and last panels/scenes together (not including prologue kk)

(ahhh i cant believe its over, really. when I think about this manhwa i feel nostalgic and bittersweet bc its over, even tho it only began and ended recently!

as soon as i read the last chapter I pulled up these two images side by side and its just so incredible!! look at how they started, and what their relationship became, endured, and grew into!!! also take a look at the development in BBong’s lovely art!!

anyways, I like to imagine that these boys live a warm and golden life together, always supporting each other, full of love!!!!)

In an episode with so much reference to Sam’s history and his own experiences feeling less than, sinful, out of control, I thought this little scene was super interesting. Sam knows about addiction, is continually conquering his (to borrow a Jared-ism), and like his psychic powers it’s something that the show hasn’t explored for some time; but (like the powers, she says wistfully) it’s there.

The weather hadn’t been the most accommodating, in spite of the rarity of Changkyun being able to spend time in his own hometown–away from the demand of his career.

Away from prying eyes or the strain of his schedule. Away from it all and now cooped in the comfort of privacy.

Huffing at the trickle of rain that prevents you from heading out, you turn and point a stare at Changkyun as he’s splayed atop his bed on his back. PS4 controller in hand, your boyfriend’s gaze is centered on the flickering screen with a diligence that he only possessed on stage–well, not that much, but still notable enough for one to mention.

“Kyunnie,” you call, still standing at his bedroom’s window.

“Hn?” His hum is distant, keeping his attention on the video game as he lies oddly atop the duvet.

“I wanna show you something.”

Ardyn’s eye contact

I can’t believe I made it to this point of starting to make GIFs. I happily enjoyed seeing everyone else’s GIFs, but no—now a character has appeared and I am falling down a dark hole. It’ll be months before I see the light again.

Ardyn Izunia is the one that did this to me; but let’s be honest, he’s an incredible character. He’s cunning, intelligent, and a sly little fox. He controls any scene he happens upon, and dear lord, I love this aspect of him.

While his backstory is still shady and yet to truly be revealed, the scene where we find out about his origins is heartbreaking. Don’t lie—I know your heart broke.

He’s always smiling or smirking in any instance, but then we have this moment:

“His body would come to host myriad daemons, that countless lives be spared.”

Ardyn likes his eye contact. I’d imagine it’s his way of holding control of a situation, like he needs any more help with that ever present saunter of his.

But in this moment, I don’t think he’s looking at Noctis before his eyes shift. Maybe he’s looking at the crystal and remembering the pain it has caused him. Or maybe he’s just staring beyond both Noctis and the crystal.

In this scene, when he says “that countless lives be spared,” he drops his gaze completely. And this really hurts me.

Then you remember the fact that he’s lived with these damn daemons for 2000+ years. He has precious little sanity left, but he does have some of his sanity.

In today’s world, depending on what you believe, some people claim to be plagued by demons (literally and figuratively). And, unfortunately, there are some instances where people give into these dark desires “created” by demons, from the person’s own thoughts.

But then there’s Ardyn. These aren’t his daemons. These are much darker and more tangible than our figurative creatures, and he’s lived with this curse for 2000 years.

Honestly, how can anyone hate him?

When I watched the behind the scenes for The Final Problem, there was a part where Gatiss said that we wont know for sure if Sherlock actually meant it or he just said it to save Molly. But then it was followed by Benedict saying he was out-of-control for Molly Hooper. He then asked whether that meant he loved Molly Hooper, but he answer that with “I don’t think I’ve made that decision yet.”

So, I think if they just get a little more time, maybe Sherlock needs to think about what he said and what it meant, Sherlolly can definitely be canon.

I’m just so excited with the progress of Sherlock’s character. The thought of him saying he can actually feel love is too much to handle for me right now.

One last thing, I cannot express how much I was in awe of Loo’s performance! Every thing she did was amazing! When she held the phone closer to her ear, when she pushed her lip, the way she whispered, “I love you”. She’s better than a great actress… she’s a good one.

Okay I promise this is the last one, I was so impressed with Benedict when he destroyed the coffin. I get that it was probably made of thin wood, but it was still impressive!

Okay bye!
