this qualifies as art

i wanted to have a go at designing a set of unique armour for my bloodborne character, so here he is! he’s an ex-combat medic/barber surgeon with a very bad (or dad?) sense of humour.

(plus some fake screencaps, because they’re fun to draw.)

Concept, based on the 'looking sharp' thing: Hanzo realizes Mcree was flirting with him like an hour afterwards and breaks a bit inside

genji finds him on the floor half an hour later

(first part!!)

Someone left a diet pepsi can on the empty table next to us and a person walked by it on the way to our table. They looked at it curiously, then anxiously touched it and then scurried to our table saying ‘YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TOUCH THE ART AND I TOUCHED THE ART!’

So we had a long discussion about dadaism and what is art and is art art and what makes an art an art and how the majority of artist’s statements are complete and utter bullshit fabricated to fill an arbitrary word count.

It should be mentioned that this person worked in an art museum and that we are both went to art school. We are certainly qualified to expound upon the 2% reduced fat fuckery that is art movements.

So when our visitor left our table, my girlfriend grabbed an index card and made the art official art.

If it’s still there tomorrow after the cleaning crew has been through, then its is now official art art that goes in an art art museum. If it is gone, then someone has TOUCHED THE ART.

And that is part of the art.

The act of the janitor tossing it in the bin… is a statement on art.

We all think we’re god-damned hilarious.

Do you draw a basic outline with general shapes when you draw people? Do you have a set way you do tho

i just?????

i really just scribble the base movement and key points and fill in from there, i dont do a ton of stuff for my poses! just keep in mind proportions, anatomy, body language, and center of gravity! i messed up a tad this time in my rush, but if a character is just standing and not in quick movement, they need to be balanced or they gonna fall over.

and the fact that a lot of my poses are slightly incorrect and/or slightly impossible. i mean look at that hip

Instead of doing homework I decided to doodle this. Before I forget there are so many awesome people following me and liking my art! Thank you!

some art tips from someone who isn't really qualified to give them:

-sketch with pens as much as you can

-dont be afraid to make mistakes and “ugly” art. youre learning.

-dont pressure yourself into making your own unique style. it will develop naturally as your skills do

-it’s ok if you are only are good at drawing one thing, expand your horizons as you see fit

-show your art to people, ask for advice. I know it’s scary but people are nicer than you think

-it doesn’t matter if you’re a hobbyist or a professional artist, your art is always valuable since you put time and care into it

Call for Interviewees

Hello all!

Once again, I’m low on interviewees. Since I don’t have the time to constantly post calls every single time I’m running low, I’m hoping to use this post as a kind of a reminder:

ASEXUAL ARTISTS IS OPEN FOR INTERVIEWS YEAR-ROUND!

I’m always looking for artists who are on the spectrum to interview. Any and all kinds of artists are welcome.

This is including but not limited to:

WRITERS: all genres and forms are welcome (novelists, short stories, poetry, flash fiction, etc). It doesn’t matter if you’re unpublished, just starting out, a student, a hobbyist, or established. Traditionally published, self-published, small press, etc. You’re all welcome and you all have something to offer.

VISUAL ARTISTS: Self explanatory, any kind of visual art you can imagine (photography, painting, sketching, drawing, sculpture, installation, etc.).

FANARTISTS: Another self-explanatory category. Cosplay, visual, fanfiction, etc. Whatever you do in your fandom (any and all fandoms welcome), you’re an artist.

FILMMAKERS: YouTubers, directors, cinematographers, anything that has to do with making films (short, features, documentaries, etc).

PERFORMANCE ARTS: actors, theater arts, singers, mimes, any sort of performers.

DANCERS: Any kind of dance style you can imagine is welcome here (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, burlesque, belly-dancing, ballroom, etc.)

MUSICIANS: playing instruments, composing, singing, anything involving music

CULINARY: maybe your medium of choice is food. If so, you’re welcome here.

CRAFTS: any sort of craft you can think of (sewing, knitting, crocheting, candle making, jewelry making, etc.)

All levels of artists are welcome: whether you’re a student or a professional, just starting out or already established. If you create, you have something to offer and therefore I want to interview you :)

If you’re still unsure whether or not your art qualifies (there’s a 97.9% chance it will), and your question isn’t answered in the F.A.Q., please contact me at laurenjankowski27@gmail.com

If you want to be interviewed, please email me at the same address (laurenjankowski27@gmail.com)

This site continues because I get requests for interviews. If the interviews run out, this site will remain as a resource :) Updates will continue as long as there are aces out there willing to be interviewed.

Thank you, everybody.
