this problem with your face

The more you try to avoid suffering, the more you suffer, because smaller and more insignificant things begin to torture you, in proportion to your fear of being hurt. The one who does most to avoid suffering is, in the end, the one who suffers most.
—  Thomas Merton

The funniest thing to me is that moment in a show when a character has just died in some tragic way, and it’s just like the saddest thing ever and everyone is bawling

Then you go backstage and they’re just sitting there scrolling through their phone because now they have nothing to do for the rest of Act 2

Hmm? What am I doing? Oh you know, just collecting pictures of the biggest dork in the series.

Morrissey is selling a t-shirt with his lyric “black is how I feel on the inside” and a photo of James Baldwin

  • British singer Morrissey is in hot water after selling merchandise at concerts featuring the face of writer James Baldwin, who is currently the subject of critically beloved documentary I Am Not Your Negro.
  • Featuring Baldwin’s face is not the problem. On the shirt, hovering around Baldwin’s face like a racist halo, are the lyrics to the Smiths’ “Unloveable”: “I wear black on the outside ‘cause black is how I feel on the inside.” Yikes.
  • People on Twitter were quick to point out the racism of using Baldwin’s image to promote a lyric that has nothing to do with blackness — and doing so to make a profit. Read more (3/17/17 11:40 AM)

Raising Princess Leia was probably all kinds of crazy adventures sometimes

“You can’t make me look!” The five year old princess stomped her foot. “He’ll steal my face!”

“Sweetheart, it’s just a painting,” Bail tried not to cringe in front of the Imperial officer. “It’s not going to steal your face, I promise.”

“Your daughter has a problem with our Emperor, Viceroy?” There was an icy undertone in the officer’s voice that warned that a misstep here could prove costly.

“It’s not the Emperor,” Queen Breha gave the man a winning smile and smoothed Leia’s hair. “She’s skittish around portraits in general.”

“The eyes follow me! They’re gonna stick me in a frame too!” Leia protested, understanding even at her age that it was better to play up her childish side.

Breha thought that the Imperial still looked unconvinced, and so with a silent apology to her daughter she added, “She’s also convinced that she has a little brother who was stolen by goblins. We’re still not certain where she picked up that idea.”

The officer nodded with thinly veiled disgust. “Perhaps you should take more care to monitor who your daughter spends time with, Queen Breha.” The pompous man turned on his heel and stalked away to terrorize someone else in the gallery.

The Organas breathed a collective sigh of relief and Bail swept Leia up into his arms.
“Well done, my Leia,” he whispered. “But from now on, you must be careful what you say about the emperor when there are people about.”

Leia tugged at the braiding on his sleeve and frowned. “It’s still ugly, Papa. It’s not a good painting.”

Bail struggled for words. “It’s…an Impressionist piece, I think.”

“What’s that mean?”

“It means that the artist was under the impression that it looked good,” Breha said dryly. Bail stifled a snort, but did not comment to the contrary.

Bidding perfunctory farewells to the host, the Queen and Viceroy slipped out, making excuses of an overtired kindergartener. Mon Mothma had been able to slip a data chip into Bail’s hand in passing and he had no intention of sticking around to be caught with it. As they met with their bodyguards and strapped themselves into the transport, Leia piped up again.

“Goblins are real though. And they do steal babies.”

She took the twitch on her father’s face as evidence that she was right and that the grown-ups just didn’t want to admit it.

Christians facing Mental health problems

Your belief in Jesus has nothing to do with it.
It has nothing to do with a lack of faith.
It has nothing to do with how often you read your Bible.
It will not go away just because you read it more.
No matter how hard you pray if you have meds you should still take them and see your doctor.
Having depression does not mean you are ungreatful for what God has done for you.
You are not possessed by Satan or demons.
This is not because of your sins.
Going to church more will probably not stop it.

You deserve to see a doctor, you deserve treatment, you deserve to be given medication if you need it.

if your skin problems/conditions are so extreme that essential oils aren’t an option, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems are so extreme that you can’t use cutesy little products, you use medical-looking ones, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems are so extreme that trendy face masks don’t do a thing, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems persistent, extreme, and even annoying, that’s okay and you are beautiful!!!

Hey Jude

A/N: This is my really late submission for @percussiongirl2017 ‘s birthday challenge! Hopefully it was worth the wait. I had the prompt, “You can’t tell me how to live my life. You’re not my mother.” & my song is “Hey Jude” – The Beatles. The pairing is Dean x Sister!Reader however there is some Sam in there as well. The reader is the oldest sibling.

Dean x Sister!Reader   Sam x Sister!Reader

“Take care of Sam and Dean.”

That was your motto. You were eight years old when your mother died in the fire that turned your life upside down. You could remember the heat, the fear you felt, and how you had never gripped Dean’s hand or held onto Sammy so tightly then you did that night when you brought them out of the burning house.

Ever since then your father gave you one task, to take care of Sam and Dean. It wasn’t something that was foreign to you; it was something that you had loved helping your mother do. She had always lovingly referred to you as the mini mama because you enjoyed it so much.

So that’s what you did.

Hi, can I ask you how Ethan, Tyler and Mark would react if the reader constantly wanted cuddles and hugs? Thank you! ❤

absolutely ! this is so cute , omfg .

If the reader constantly wanted cuddles / hugs :

Ethan:

You, in the background: I REALLY WISH I HAD SOMEONE TO CUDDLE WITH RIGHT NOW!

Ethan (gif): What? Y/N, I’m recording, stop.

Usually it’s Ethan saying “babe, I’m busy,” and then that turns into “okay, fine, just for a minute,” and then the minutes turn to hours and then you both probably fall asleep . You’re constantly complaining when he’s making videos, just walking around the house sighing and groaning and saying “I REALLY WISH I HAD SOMEONE TO CUDDLE WITH RIGHT NOW!” until Ethan’s finally done with his video and tackles you onto the sofa. “Happy now?!” And, obviously, you are, because you got what you wanted. Basically he always caves and cuddles with you no matter what.

Tyler:

You pouting: Don’t just sit there, hug me!

Tyler, continuing to sit there and laughs at you (gif)

You usually grab is long ass arms and wrap them around you, whether he wants to or not (which he usually doesn’t mind). He’s probably taller than you, so whenever you approach to get a hug, you bury your face into his stomach/chest, and it calms you down almost instantly. He likes to tease you a lot about it, sometimes he’ll even hold you at arm lengths when you’re trying to get at him with hugs and cuddles, until you run at him and lock your arms around him so he can’t get out. He thinks it’s really funny.

Mark:

You, holding your arms out and getting slowly closer: You know you wanna.

Mark (gif): I’m watchin’ you.

Mark is so playfully mean about it. Like, he’ll call you needy and whiney, but he’ll always end up cuddling and hugging you, anyway. It’s always, “Oh my gggoooddd, ssstttoooppp,” and “jesus christ, what is your problem?” and then you give a little pouty face, or you hit him in the arm, and he’s like, “fine, god,” and just wraps super muscular arms around you. He’s very playful about it, but you know he doesn’t mind it at all, that’s just how he is.

Punk (Chap. 9)

Summary: You’re head over heels for your best friend Bucky and hate the nickname he gave you as it doesn’t exactly scream romance.

Word count: 3423

Warnings: Language, mission/war related violence and gore, shooting, enemy deaths, i think that’s all…*shrugs*

A/N: Chap.9  finally, I know!  This is a it of an information dump/setting the rest of the story arc up chapter.  I tried to dial down the angst since you lovies all told me how you cried on the last chapter :( and put some action and humour in instead.  I hope you like this one and I CAN’T WAIT to give you guys chapter 10 in a few days so please stick around through this one!  it’s worth the wait!

**I’m actually legit terrified that i peaked with the last chapter and nothing will ever be as good, especially this chapter, but i hope to give you guys a good story for the rest of the series.

Feedback fuels my life btw….and the picture is from google…i searched for beautiful things… ;]

“Kiddo, wake up we gotta go.”

Clint’s rough, scratchy voice woke you from an uneasy sleep.  Your head was pounding and your eyes felt sticky, as if they’d been glued together in the night.  “Mmm, wha—w’as happ’nin’?” you mumbled, rubbing a hand down your face.

“Problem in Brooklyn, we gotta go.  Get dressed,” Clint replied.  He smacked your leg and the bed bounced as he got up and walked towards the closet.

“What about the desert? Nebraska?”

“New Mexico,” Clint clarified with a snort. “There’s no desert in Nebraska. Remind me to get you a map for your birthday.  Now, get—up.” He ripped the blanket away from you, causing you to squeal as cold air rushed over your legs.

“Gah!  I’m up! I’m up!”  You jolted upwards and scrambled out from the bed.

Lads here I know this is completely unrelated to the blog but this is a plea because I’ve noticed a lot of people asking about it in work.

PLEASE DON’T USE THOSE BLACK CHARCOAL FACE MASKS. The peely-off ones all over Facebook. Please.

Charcoal is not bad for your face (unless you’re sensitive maybe). The problem comes about when you have charcoal and peel-off in the same room, especially when the ingredients to make the peel off mask aren’t clearly stated (or a bit cryptic). From what I’m seeing there are even DIY black charcoal masks which include glue as an ingredient. nO
The masks are unreasonably harsh on the skin, and while your skin might feel great and smooth for a while after using them, it’s seriously damaging your skin’s natural moisture barrier and it’s probably pulling out a lot of the very fine hair on your face. That’s not a good thing.

While the results and after photos of the peeled mask look impressive, most of what comes off on those “miracle masks” aren’t blackheads, but sebaceous filaments which are completely natural and healthy. You don’t need to pull them out. Everyone has them. There’s nothing wrong with them. They’re actually responsible for controlling the release of oil onto your skin.

We’ve had people as young as 13 coming in to work asking if we make them. I’ve seen videos of adults crying trying to take them off, imagine how much they’re going to affect considerably younger, possibly sensitive skin?

Please, this isn’t even a plug for my work like honestly I’d rather if you got a fist of muck from the garden and put it on your face than use the black masks.
