this might actually be my favorite one

the only thing that I didn’t really like about dr2 is… the plot is a little contrived. a little island killing game to fuck over a couple future foundation members is kind of small scale, even if one of those members is naegi… especially given kamukura’s talent and enoshima’s resources…

but at least the resulting game was well done

edit: actually, fucking over naegi might be worth it… even if the second game wasn’t being broadcast, the first was, and he was a hero… if he was locked away because he tried to save the people who helped mess up the world in the first place… that wouldn’t exactly be good PR.

still a bit small scale, but, here we are

“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines

Lived twelve little girls in two straight lines

In rain or shine

They left the house at half past nine

The smallest one was Madeline.”

-Ludwig Bemelmans, Madeline, 1939

I would like to share a sampling of the graduation project that I had so much fun illustrating! It’s an old series, but one of my childhood favorites. There has been a TV series and a live action film, but never a modern-ish animated feature, and it was a bit of a passion project to imagine what it would look like, down to the character designs and the actual scenes.

Also, I might have some good news to announce soon… keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime! ♪

So my favorite show, the 100, has low ratings and a strong possibility of being canceled so I thought I’d get the word out about it because I honestly think it is the best show on CW right now and I have provided some solid reasons why. [I have quoted many other tumblr users because I thought they provided some good insight]

1. POC and Biracial Representation: There are about 4 or 5 groups of people, and only one is lead by a white male but that’s because he’s a “shady white male politician that we’re supposed to doubt” (leepacy).
“6/12 of the main and important secondary characters are POC; of the five leaders in the show there are two women, two POC men, and one POC woman. Many of the POC are biracial, which is fantastic because biracial POC are generally underrepresented” (fuffuster).

2. Realistic Female Characters: All of the female characters are realistic and dimensional, and are not sexualized like many are in the Sci-Fi genre.  ”Okay, nothing pisses me off more than armors that unnecessarily showcases a woman’s boobs or curves or ass *cough* bikini armor, so I’m really glad this show steered clear of that” (semi-ordinary). “The female characters are demonstrated to be just as competent as the male characters are, one of the ‘omg a woman messed up and caused a huge catastrophe’ plot lines that abound in some other Sci-Fi drama.  One of the male characters who wants the girl doesn’t end up getting her just becuase he did something heroic. Realistically, his heroic actions do not make her magically interested in him. He didn’t ‘earn’ the right to be with her just because he saved her or anyone else.” (fuffuster).

3. Multiple Intricate Story Lines and No Shitty Filler Episodes! “I don’t know about you, but I like stories that start at the end of a story, because then anything can happen and the writers can build on the past and future easily without making us feel like it’s just piling on episodes. Each episode actually has a purpose” (semi-ordinary). “This show is designed to take a hard, close look at how individuals and groups survive when faced with hostile, often toxic environments” (elschaaf).  There are also some great parallels and symbols and motifs that would make an English teacher shit themselves. My personal favorite involves Bellamy, Murphy, and a red belt so keep an eye out for that one!! It also highlights the transformation they go through as characters and how their relationship drastically changes, which brings me to the next point…

4. CHARACTERIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT!!! The characters develop realistically, and their motives are understandable - often causing you to feel sympathetic, even when they commit murder.  ”Every character is morally ambiguous and completely gray.  No one is perfect. No one always makes the right choices. And there are consequences when the wrong choices are made. [This show] looks especially hard at how and if those individuals and groups are able to maintain their humanity under [hostile, often toxic, environments].  There is absolutely incredible character development that each character displays.  These people are constantly flux as they face new and harrowing situations and learn more about themselves in order to survive and protect each other” (elschaaf).

5. LGBTQ / Disabled Representation:  One of the strongest and most intelligent female characters becomes disabled as the result of a fight, and is proving to be quite inspirational as she overcomes her struggles (and continues to be the genius engineer she is).  Protagonist Clarke Griffin is bisexual, and the grounder commander Lexa is lesbian. They share a kiss without queerbaiting and is seen as the norm for their society; sexuality is fluid on The 100.

6. THE CAST IS BOTH TALENTED AND ENGAGING. The cast is extremely enthusiastic about the series, which is evident in the superb performances they put forth on camera. From the extras to the leads, many (including the writers) are fully present on social media, answering fan questions whenever they can.  ”When you watch the 100 live on TV you know some of the cast members are going to be tweeting live as they watch with you. THIS is how you interact with the fans!!!” (semi-ordinary). “[The 100] has a strong, well-played ensemble cast who are passionate about their project and speak up about it regularly on social media” (elschaaf).

So in summary, WATCH THE 100!!! Here are some places where it can be found:

warning!!! if blood and gore is triggering or isn’t your thing, then this isn’t the show for you

Heeeeere we go!

The Curse of Maleficent is starting to pop up in stores, which means I should be cleared to start posting art! These are a few preliminary illustrations I did for the publisher to basically apply for the job- they wanted to see what the look and feel of the film would translate into in my style before we threw ourselves at a whole book- so I took a run at it, and they loved it! I learned a lot on those, and the topmost one is still one of my favorite things I’ve done recently.
Since they’re prelims, none of this will show up in the actual book- but I figured the internet might take an interest! Art and the sketchy sketchy process that gets us there.

If you have NO IDEA what I’m talking about, read my blog here:

And you can order the book online here:

And and…you can see it in the hands of a REAL ACTUAL HUMAN CHILD I HAVE NEVER MET here (scroll down):
^which MADE my day and gave me allll the warm fuzzies. Thanks, google alerts!

“Could you guys all keep a secret? So, um, we actually just finished a video for this song [prettiest girl] and it might be one of my favorite videos we’ve ever done.  But no one knows about it yet because I’m supposed to announce it on Monday.  So don’t say anything…”

One of my favorite things about Daria is that the books she reads are actual books we too can read. Sometimes her jokes are references to the books she’s read and if you haven’t read the book you might not be in on the joke! Here is a list of the books you can purchase that have been featured/mentioned on Daria:

(I put an * by all the ones I’ve personally read)

So yeah, Spy’s the only one with proper cropping, and is the only one that’s actually a poster and not just a low-quality image, but… I actually had done EVERYONE, and edited them, before I decided to only post my favorite on DA- my favorite being the one that carried off this concept the best.

So, might as well post all of them here since they can all be on the same post.

The BBC Robin Hood Version (Part 3 of ?)

Percy looked up, his eyes red and puffy. “Whah jus happened?”The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan

Since lots of people haven’t read/finished The Hidden Oracle yet, I’m refraining from posting more heartbreaking spoiler-y scenes. I haven’t found myself so excited about a Percy Jackson-verse book in years, but The Hidden Oracle is so, so good.

She actually schooled me on my own shit. She was like, ‘I’ve been listening to 'The Morning’ [from House of Balloons] for years — it’s one of my favorite songs ever!’ I mean, she might have just Googled it. But she seemed genuine. But the whole time she was talking, she was kind of, like, petting my hair? I think she was just drawn to it — she must have been a little gone off a few drinks. And of course I’m not going to be like, 'Hey, can you stop?’ I mean, it felt good! But when she started petting my hair, that’s when I was like, 'I definitely need a drink.

I like to personally apologize for all of my terrible ideas.

I have no idea where the boyfriend material meme came from but it is one of my favorite memes.

Also, for gender, I always headcanon both Ghirahim and Fi as non-binary but with masculine and feminine gender expressions respectively. I know little about non-binary gender so I apologize if I got that wrong or if there are different gender identities that is more accurate to what I’m saying.

I hope you like pink! Ariel’s pink dress is one of my favorites. Some might say that a pink dress doesn’t go with red hair. But, I say that it clashes so much, it actually goes together. I chose the scalloped shorts, as they remind me of the ruffles on her dress. A dinglehopper necklace is an Ariel DisneyBound must-have! The rest of her accessories are reminiscent of her mermaid days.

Mole appreciation post 🙋 Face, neck, chest, tits, arms, hands, tummy, back, butt, legs, feet, dark, light, nude, flat, protruding, small, bigger, they’re EVERYWHERE! I used to be very insecure about them, especially those on my back and the one on the left side of my forehead (it rarely shows in pictures) but now I think they’re kinda cute. Besides, why wasting time feeling bad about something I can’t control? In fact, I get new ones all the time. Especially during summer, I might as well embrace it. I actually didn’t have the one by my lip some years ago but now it’s one of my favorite features! I’ve had a few checked more than once so yet I’m free from the risky ones 🙏 They ain’t flaws, they’re charming and specially made for you!
